It actually means Praise be to God (Allah). “Alhamdulillah,” also spelled “al-Hamdi Lil lah” and “al-hamdulillah,” is pronounced “al-HAM-doo-LI-lah” and means “Praise be to Allah,” or God. It is a phrase that Muslims often use in conversation, especially when thanking God for blessings. |

Only the member representing Ojomu/Balogun Constituency of Offa Local Government Area, Mr. Saheed Popoola, remains in APC.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Dr. Ali Ahmad, speaking on the floor of the House during the defection, said APC had been “fictionalised.”
Ahmad said, “All the honorable members — except one — have finally changed party to the PDP.
“This is permitted by the Proviso to Section 109 (1) (g) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“Today, as I and other members of the Kwara State Assembly dump the APC for good, I heaved a sigh of relief.
“In 2014, I was terribly sad leaving PDP reluctantly with 36 other members of the House of Representatives.
“Today, I am the happiest leaving the APC for good. I wish I was never a member of the party.”

countryfive: We can see the pain clearly written all over their faces 2019 elections will be different from 2015
2015 was se and ss against the rest of the country But 2019 will be se + ss + middle belt + ne and about 40% of Christians and south easterners (Developers) living in the southwest
Its won't be Christian vs Muslim But Muslim vs Muslim , northerner vs northerner That's why I pity people who brag and say buhari And tinubu alone will crush PDP
Buhari has lost Benue , taraba, jos , kwara and even southern Kaduna, Adamawa and sotoko Will vote for atiku because he is their person Dino will definitely deliver most part of kogi With over 90% votes from IMO, anambra, ebonyi, Enugu, abia, calabar, delta, bayelsa , akwaibom , Rivers state , No one has lost anything yet. I agree with some but not all of your analysis. Part of what will determine who wins come 2019 is -1. the records of who is going to contest against PMB -2. APC although has lost some senators, that doesn't mean they have lost those states to PDP. -3. APC is also gaining grounds in some Eastern states and south-south i.e Akwa Ibom, Akpabio might even leave for APC soon. -4. I don't see how PDP is going to efficiently manage the crisis that will surface from their presidential primaries where the contest may be between ATIKU, MAKARFI, FAYOSE,KAKWANSO AND TAMBUWAL. you have to also know that even when saraki "was" still in APC...the election into the local councils were almost lost by them in Kwara State...we all saw videos of rigging everywhere...Kwara to me is still very open because we are going to see a lot of protest votes from that side. The game is on, lets go grab our seats and keep watching. 2019 is going to be tough for all the players. |

Politics › Re: PoliticsNGR Poll: 70% Vote Against President Buhari's 2019 Re-election Bid by babayinka77(m): 3:31pm On Jun 16, 2018 |
stephanie11: @POLITICSNGR
A recent poll conducted by PoliticsNGR, an online publication on President Mohammadu Buhari re-election bid in 2019 has revealed that some Nigerians are not too keen on supporting the President's second term bid.
In the poll which opened on Monday, May 21, 2018, and ended Sunday, June 3, 2018, respondents were asked, ‘Will you vote for President Buhari in 2019’ as voting was via www.politicsngr.com.
In line with the rules, those who preferred the President second coming in 2019 were to click the ‘YES’ button while those who were against to click the ‘NO’ button.
At the end of the exercise which lasted for 14 days, 5,227 votes were recorded. Of the figure, 3,687 votes representing 70 per cent voted against Buhari re-election bid while 1,538 votes representing 29.4 per cent supported his ambition. By this, it has been observed that the apathy among Nigerians concerning the Buhari’s administration and re-election bid had been rife and may affect his chances at the poll in 2019.
However, as a countdown to the 2019 general elections draws near and an opportunity for Nigerians to make the right choice, political gladiators like Rabiu Kwankwaso, Atiku Abubakar, Sule Lamido, Omoyele Sowore, Kingsley Moghalu among many others have all indicated interest in becoming the Nation’s number one citizen. Nonetheless, political stakeholders and electoral watchers are still skeptic going by the president’s request that youths should drop the idea of contesting now, only to contest after his tenure.
The President has, however, made known his intention to improve the country's economy and double-down on the anti-corruption war if re-elected in 2019. This was evident in the recent conviction of two ex-governors for Fraud.
https://politicsngr.com/politicsngr-poll-70-vote-president-buharis-2019-re-election-bid/ The last time I checked, Hillary Clinton was supposed to win the last US election according to the pools. |

Deji7474: President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, fulfilled the age long promise to former Super Eagles coach, Bonfrere Jo, handing him the keys to a three-bedroom apartment in Gwagwalada, Abuja.
Recall that the Dutchman was promised a house after guiding the national U23 team to win the men’s football event at the Atlanta ’96 Olympic Games.
Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, who handed Bonfrere the keys during a brief ceremony in Abuja, said the reward would inspire the Eagles at the 2018 World Cup competition in Russia.
Fashola said, “Let me on behalf of the President apologise to you that it has taken so long for the Nigerian government to come through. We thank you for your contribution to the development of our country, our youth, football and to say that it is better late than never. Nigeria always come through, we have come through for you.
“It is proper that with just few days to another World Cup, Nigeria fulfils and redeems this pledge and I hope that this will serve as an inspiration to our players going to the World Cup and the officials that this government will be there for you all the way.
“Ordinarily, this ought to be a short meeting but if it take 24 years for the government of the country to respond to its citizens, it must assume a news making event. This is consistent with the commitment that the President has made that once again, he will make Nigerians proud of their country. This country should always be there to respond to the needs and expectations of the citizens.”
The 71-year-old thanked the Federal Government and stated that the gesture would encourage sportsmen and women to work hard, knowing that their achievements would not go unrecognised. https://www.abusidiqu.com/president-buhari-fulfils-housing-promise-to-ex-super-eagles-coach-bonfrere-jo/ Thank God that this news has been brought to the front. lets promote good things always...all debtors out there please go and pay up. |

teddynaijaboy: The Federal Government of Nigeria has increased maternity leave from three to four months, the government also barred employers from sacking married women.
Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, made this known at the ongoing International Labour Conference (ILC), in Geneva, Switzerland, yesterday. He said;
“Employers of labour (in Nigeria) are, by regulation, requested to provide workplace crèches for nursing mothers for ease at work place. In the public service, government recently increased the period for maternity leave from 12 to 16 weeks; to allow enough recuperation for both baby and mother, especially in the area of breast feeding.
“In addition, all disciplinary proceedings against any female staff, which might have been taken during the period of her maternity leave shall be put in abeyance till the expiration of the leave.
“Employers of labour are also barred from removal of women from work due to their marital or maternity status, illegal labour migration, contract staffing and labour casualisation which affects most women, are being reformed through policies and regulations at national, bilateral and multilateral levels.”
“The ratification, domestication and implementation of the Maternity Protection Convention No. 186 are conscious efforts to ensure that more women enjoy maternity protection in the country…”
The Minister also said that a lot needed to “be done in terms of putting in place appropriate legislation, policies and practices to deal with the gender gaps that inhibit greater participation of women in the labour force.”
He added that the most effective method of eliminating gender inequality from the workplace lies in vigorous opposition to employers’ discriminatory conducts, policies and harassment in all forms wherever and whenever they occur.
To address gender inequality and youth unemployment in Nigeria, Ngige told delegates that the federal government drew up and has been implementing an Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP).
