OTD---

LMAO-- You're a trip. You're making me laugh at blasphemous statements. That ain't right.

At what your friend said: I do agree with him/her. A good number of unserious christians (especially pastors and "men of God"wink, only extract the parts that suit them and their problems, or the parts they want to hear. Most atheists have more knowledge of the bible than some so called christian sef.

I remember arguing with you about Underrated and Overrated characters in the bible. Mr. Samson for one vexes me.;  people talk about him like he's all that; he was a "good" guy. This dude was an undisputed jerk!

I don't want to argue with you about you saying God is biased. Coz, yes to some extent, he is. He chose Israelites. He chose Abraham. Etc. However, who am I to question his choices though.?  That's why he's God. Roger!
My question thus is this, why is the creation story that you believe more valid than others?
Good question fam. That's what our beliefs and faiths are all about (simply put).

Even as a theist, the story of creation will forever be confusing to me, because according to my bible, there are two fundamental stories. It's either both of them are false, one of them is, or the people that "composed" that part of the bible are just utterly confused. All I believe and know is that God created our existence and everything encompassing it. I don't know how he did it.

You're an atheist?! You're messing with my head.

About the creation myths: Yh, the stories always seem like Aesop's fables (Fabu grin) to me.  However, like I said earlier  on this thread, my/our faith is beyond these silly myths.

He asks, "what is the origin of life?",  then if an atheist says he doesn't know, the OP then mocks him. If you have a cure for our ignorance, please share. But don't resort to faith or an imaginary absentee father in the sky. We need something tangible.
OTD, are you an atheist?
Christianity EtcRe: What Is The Origin Of Life? (Atheists) by BABE3: 1:50am On Aug 25, 2011
davidylan:
I agree with you. Fair enough.

I dont think science and religion clash as in a lot of what passes for science today is simply man's desire to defy God Himself. I'm a scientist myself . . . its amazing how little science really knows about evolution when you finally get behind the bench yourself. If indeed RNA could be generated spontaneously, we would long have figured out how to cure genetic diseases today.
Hmm--Interesting.

They still clash. Science and God are like two masters; Sceince being the Caeser. Science doesn't believe in miracles: Our faith does.
I took a cell-Biology class in spring, and I remember my professor giving an almost 'apologetic speech' on how him lecturing about evolution will make christians in the class feel "uncomfortable".  The two concepts are very not alike.

I've not studied evolution extensively ( I only know the basics) to refute your second sentence.

Yes, I agree. Science is indeed still a Juvenile (Knowledge-wise).

Christianity EtcRe: What Is The Origin Of Life? (Atheists) by BABE3: 1:13am On Aug 25, 2011
Sorry my replies 'came' late. It appeared that you quoted kandikane instead of me.

davidylan:
huh? You must not be very knowledgeable yourself.
I don't really get your point.

davidylan:
and this is why "atheists always win" . . . because we have "christians" like you who have not taken the time to educate themselves. What did you want the science section for?
I do educate myself. I do question my beliefs. But at some point in time Science and Religion (our faith) always clash! Joggling the two together can be very tricky and "delicate".

Science section? For science related topics.

davidylan:
that's true, it doesnt however mean we go about with blank minds.
Blank minds? I've had lengthy, never-ending arguments with thiests on NL on biblical matters that were science-like. Choosing not to argue with an atheist doesn't mean I don't know my stuff.

In a nutshell, I would prefer to argue with a "Scientific theist". That makes more sense to me.
Christianity EtcRe: What Is The Origin Of Life? (Atheists) by BABE3: 12:49am On Aug 25, 2011
davidylan:
you mean atheists always shout loudest and most christians think science is something best left to carnal minds?
Of course not. You are only quoting a portion of what I said. I explained my comment further.

I'm a Pre-Medical student and a Christian, so I would be the last person to claim that science is for "carnal minds".

kandiikane:
BABE, we do really need a science section. . undecided undecided
LOL---Na today? Admin ignored my/our request, or rather, he/they is still thinking about it.

Sidenote: Again, I don't see any reason why a theist (christians especially) should take their precious time to argue with a LEARNED athiest. Athiests always win! Why bother?

Their arguments are always tangible and based on science (or something related to that). They always provide physical facts (or something close to that).

As christians (or whatever religion), we don't have the "luxury" of providing people with logical facts. The Bible itself is already full of various contradictions. Our belief in God/christ is a thing of the heart and spirit! Our faith is far beyond logic! We can't expect an atheist to accept such reasoning.

Instead of Theists to be adding to their biblical knowledge and feeding their spiritual minds with good things (lol), they go around arguing with atheists--how smart! In the cause of "trying to prove a point", they begin to insults athiests-- **In my head, I'm like "See your life"** grin

Even if you must argue, argue with a fellow theist (My speciality  grin)

Only the power of God and prayers can change the heart of an atheist.
Christianity EtcRe: What Is The Origin Of Life? (Atheists) by BABE3: 11:00pm On Aug 24, 2011
@ Atheists and Non-Theists:  I've stalked the username, Sexkillz, for a while now (CIA style  grin). At the end of my quest, I found out that; He enjoys pushing people's buttons. He basks in seeing people get agrrevated. He finds delight  in people being against him. He also loves plagiarizing.

If y'all have noticed, the only thing he has done since the beginning of this thread is to doltishly dismiss anything you guys have to say. His aim to work you guys up. And Alas, it's working. He reminds me of a "masochist" sometimes.  grin

In a nutshell, stop wasting your time (on this thread).
Christianity EtcRe: What Is The Origin Of Life? (Atheists) by BABE3: 10:24pm On Aug 24, 2011
I'm not an atheist, but I'm still gonna comment anyway.

Why would any sane theist want an atheist to prove anything?  huh Shouldn't it be the other way round?

The opposite of being a theist is believeing that there's no God/gods right? Invariably, it should be very obvious that asking a question like this would only generate Sceintific answers and all sorts of "Big bang theories" from Learned Athiests. So why bother asking the question, if you don't "want" those sort of answers--?

#JustSaying.

Ok lacrissa. I was just curious.

Well, some guyz don't like PDAs on FB. I personally dislike that too. FB doesn't matter fam. Mark Zuckerberg shouldn't be distrupting your relationship.

It's the way he's acting towards you for real (how he's showing his love for you) that matters.

Madam Pendulum Bulb,   grin

Yes, it is possible that he's changing his behavior to impress you. It is also very possible that he isn't. So, now what? That's only one way to find out for sure; talk to him about it. However, it seems like you don't have the balls, so you basically have to deal with it. He's not hurting you or making you super uncomfortable, is he?

If he verbalizes his intention, then, you have the right to tell him to 4uck off.

Btw, don't you like a lil' bit of attention? lol-- Well, I do. I like it when guys act like that (even if I'm not interested). It can get really annoying at times though.

BusinessRe: Nigeria Ranks High Amongst Most Innovative In The World! by BABE3: 3:32pm On Aug 24, 2011
rabzy:
Now they have said we are one of the most innovative people in the world why should we argue with them, why should we castigate ourselves on that again, why should we not accept that we are indeed innovative.

We have learn t to be innovative to survive some of the worst conditions in the world, Home or away, Nigerians are known to be very innovative. Maybe that is why our leaders are taking us for granted, we are always looking for a way to survive and continue life.
Technically, I'm not arguing with the fact that they said we are innovative. I'm simply sick of "them" ranking Nigeria. Wetin?

Again, who can't think of new ideas when thrown into a do or die situation? When poverty strikes, who wouldn't think of a way to survive? What's so special and "rankable" about being able to think of new ideas?

LOL @ the bolded clause. You're wrong Mr.  Your leaders are a special breed of thieves and evil humans. If Nigerians stop being "innovative" and start dropping dead one after the other (God forbid), do you really think those cursed f00ls we call leaders will care? You never jam!

@ Spiderman. grin

Yh, I agree with you. If you want to rock the latest Louis Vuitton handbag, work your a$$ off for it. Don't depend on no boyfriend.

Honestly, I haven't "seen" or heard much experiences of girls demanding money from their bfs. However, the way you guys talk about the issue on here, makes it seem rampant.

A wise guy wouldn't  SANTA CLAUS his life savings away because of some BB and Lace wig. A wise woman with self respect, wouldn't BEG a boyfriend for money (especially for irrelevant things).

Spiderman, don't get me wrong o. If you have money to blow on your GFs, blow it. Nothing do you. Na your money. But, don't take it as your responsbilty to do so. It's not. It's her parents'.

@BABE!,

Over the internet, an american friend of mine once asked about how Lagos/Nigeria looks like. All I did was to give her a link www.wikipedia.com/lagos and that of Abuja & Nigeria and told her this is not all the good and there are ugly scenes too. She was thrilled and asked me to get some locations with my phone for her whenever I go out.

Most of these people outside africa (not the asians ooo) only hear africa as refugee camp/jungle because most have watched Micheal Jackson - Heal the World or Survivor - Africa (season 3) . So, I no blame dem. They don't know which one is which.
lol-- Those folks are clueless fam. They are extremely close minded. They don't want to know what's going on outside their little caves. How dare you ask me if I live in a tree-- in yr 2011 for that matter? It's just a sad situation.
