Bismillah Rahman Raheem why does Islam allows Divorce? In Islam, marriage is intended to be a life-long partnership wherein both parties find security and happiness and are able to establish a family and bring up their children. The rights and responsibilities consequent upon it are of such importance to the welfare of humanity, that a high degree of sactity is attached to it. But in spite of the sacredness of the character of the marriage tie, Islam recognises the necessity in exceptional circumstances of keeping the way open for its dissolution. No one can pretend that alll marriages are always happy and blissful. However hard you may try, unforseen difficulties may make marriage life intolerabler. If the relationship between husband and wife becomes so bad that it can produce only misery within the family, they are not forced to stay together until death. At this stage the marriage can be dissolved and eac partner released in the hope of finding peace and happiness in another marriage if possible. Islam prescribes every precaution to prevent the break up of a marriage. It recommends counselling and mediation by relatives, friends or a judge to help resolve differences and problems etc. But when married life does not fulfil its purpose and becomes unbearable, the marriage bond is severed as a last resort. The prophet (saw) said 'of all things that have been permitted, divorce is the most hated by Allah'. Some non-muslims say that Islam endangers marriage by allowing divorce. On the contrary, it ensures it by the very same measure for the wrong person would know that the wronged can free himself or herself from injustice and harm by divorce. By realising that marriage is binding only as long as it is functional and successful, both parties would do their utmost to make their marriage fulfilling before doing anything that might affect the continuance of marriage. It makes each partner careful in choosing the other partner before marriage and in treating that partner afterwards. By allowing divorce in the first place, therefore, Islam declares its policy that it cannot tolerate unhappy, cold, and stagnant marriages which are much more harmful than divorce. Islam stands firmly on guard for morality and human dignity. It does not force a person to suffer the injustice and harm of an unfaithful partner. It does not drive people to immorality and indecency. What is morally and humanly remarkable about Islam in this respect is that it does not force any person to lower his or her dignity and degarde his or her morality just to obtain a divorce. Considering the case of adultery and its endorsement by some systems (or religions) as a basis for divorce (matt 5 v 32), the muslim, can only say that it is humilaiting to human dignity and detrimental to morality that a person should commit adultery or pretend to have committed it in order to obtain a divorce (which in some systems are not otherwise granted e.g 1 corinthians 7 v 10-11, Lukw 16 v 18, mark 10 v 1-12) This is something which Islam can never accept or endorse, because it would violate the whole system of moral values which Islam cherishes. Any system or religion dealing with human nature has to be realistic and moderate, making allowances for all circumstances with preparedness to cope with all conditions. Else it would be self destructive and groundless, a state which Islam is absolutely free of (read quran 2 v 224-232, quran 4 v 34-35 and quran 4 v 127-130) I will post write up on 'why polygamy is allowed in Islam' and 'why prophet married more than four wives'. I know that some of our sisters are not always happy when the issue like 'why muslims marry more than one wife' is mentioned but I hope the write up will provide enough explanation on that and increasee our knowledge on same. @Mustay don't forget 2 get 2 jum'ah earlyI wont brother, thanks for your concern. ![]() @dominique & dragnet Quote As 4 losing c0ncentratn while pRaying. . . I'm stil N0T GO0D @ it !reciting behind an Imam one's prayer is not accepted unless Al-Fatiha is recited in every rakah. But, one who is praying behind an Imam is to keep quiet while the Imama is reciting asloud as Allah says in the Quran, 'when the Quran is recited, listen and remain silent that you may attain mercy'. The prophet (saw) said , 'when the Imama makes the takbir, (you too) make the takbir. When he recites, be silent (related by muslim). One hadith states ,' Whoever is praying behind an Imam, the Imama recital is his recital. If the Imam reads quietly, then all of the followers must also make theier own recital. If one cannot hear Imam's recital, he must make his own recital. It happens at times that you seem to get lost when Imam is reciting any Surah particularly the one you dont know, the thing to do in order not to drift away is to recite the surah you know as the Imam is reciting his own so that you wont get distracted when he is reading his own. It will do you good if you knw the meaning of what he is reciting, you just concentrate and meditate on what he is reciting but if you do not understand the meaning, you can recite the surah you know silently after him so that you dont get carried away and as a result of this, you will get 100% concentration. May Allah make it easier for us. Maa Salam |
@longman83 Well, amuse yourself. At the very least, there's no need reinventing the wheel, which almost always happens with 'recycled' questions.I have been to that link but didnt see where Pilgrim.1 responded to those questions and if you care to know, this happened to be her response in the link you supplied: This propaganda lies of limiting the salvation of Jesus Christ to only Israel was Muhammad's deviation at work - because you guys have refused to read the whole testimony in the NT.So you are free to attend to those questions having given you enough verses to start with. ![]() |
@Tayo-D & Dafidixone Having given you the above introduction to what trinity is all about, I will appreciate your answering these questions: Did God need to change himself before they could accept His message and did He need to punish Himself for the sin committed by His creator? Can you show me any verse from the OT where OT prophets preached trinity? " "My food," said Jesus, "is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. ( John 4:34)" Did God send himself? " "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. (John 5:24)" Did he send himself? "So Jesus said, "When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am the one I claim to be and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me. (John 8:28)" " "You heard me say, 'I am going away and I am coming back to you.' If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. (From the NIV Bible, John 14:28)" Did you see that? Any explanation "Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. "He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives the one who sent me. Anyone who receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet's reward, and anyone who receives a righteous man because he is a righteous man will receive a righteous man's reward. (Matthew 10:39-41)" Did he send himself? "And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted up to the skies? No, you will go down to the depths. "He who listens to you listens to me; he who rejects you rejects me; but he who rejects me rejects him who sent me." (From the NIV Bible, Luke 10:15-16)" Did you see that? Mark 13:32"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. If Messiah was God, he would know that day, that is the End of this system of things. The Omnipotent God knows all things because with him no declaration will be impossible. John 7:16 Jesus answered, "My teaching is not my own. It comes from him who sent me. Here Jesus or Yahushua is referring to another person, thus showing they are two distinct beings. Furthermore the One who does the sending is far superior in rank to the one who is sent. 1 Corinthians 11:3: Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is YHWH [Jehovah or Yahweh] How could God be head over his own self. Rather God is head over all his creatures including the Celestial Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:28:When Jesus or Yahushua hands over the kingdom to his God and Father ,then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all. Ephesians 1:3-Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Ephesians 1:17I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit[a] of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 1 Peter 1:3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, A 3 rd time, our Lord Jesus has a God over him. Revelation 1:6 -Jesus has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen. John 20:17 Jesus said, "Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.' Jesus worshiping his God: Let us look at Luke 5:16 "And he (Jesus) withdrew himself into the wilderness and prayed to his God." Matthew 26:39 "And going a little way forward, he (Jesus) fell upon his face, praying and saying 'My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me. Yet, not as I will, but as you will.' " Here in this verse we see two things: (1) Jesus bowed down on his face and prayed in submission to his GOD in obedience. (2) Jesus was begging his GOD to let the cup pass away from him. Jesus did not have the power to will it for himself and make the cup pass away from Jesus. GOD had to do it for Jesus !. Matthew 26:42 "Again, for the second time, he (Jesus) went off and prayed, saying: 'My Father, if it is not possible for this to pass away except I drink it, let your will take place.'" Jesus begged his GOD to will what Jesus wanted to happen. Jesus couldn't will it by himself. Matthew 26:44 "So leaving them, he (Jesus) went off and prayed for the third time, saying once more the same word." Here we see that Jesus for the third time begged his GOD to will what Jesus wished for in Matthew 26:39 above. Hebrew 5:7 "During the days of Jesus' life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission." Here we see Jesus prayed to God be saved and God HEARD ( in any religious speech the HEARD means that the person has been answer with the prayer) him. Mathew 3:16 "After being baptized Jesus immediately came up from the water; and, look! the heavens were opened up, and he saw descending like a dove God's spirit coming upon him. Look! Also, there was a voice from the heavens that said: This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved." "The Father is greater than I." John 14:28 ![]() |
@dafidixone & Tayo-D Please read ![]() In "The Dictionary of the Bible," John L. McKenzie, S.J., p. 899 bearing the Nihil Obstat, Imprimatur, and Imprimi Potest (official Church seals of approval), we read: "THE TRINITY OF GOD IS DEFINED BY THE CHURCH AS THE BELIEF THAT IN GOD ARE THREE PERSONS WHO SUBSIST IN ONE NATURE. THAT BELIEF AS SO DEFINED WAS REACHED ONLY IN THE 4th AND 5th CENTURIES AD AND HENCE IS NOT EXPLICITLY AND FORMALLY A BIBLICAL BELIEF. The concept of "Trinity" was in fact a very old worshipping practice; it started long time before the time of Jesus. It was in Babylon that the idea of "Trinity" first appeared. This Trinity consisted of Baal, the Sun-god as father, Semiramis, the Queen mother and Nimrod, the divine child. A day was set aside to rejoice over and to celebrate the re-birth of the young god. From Babylon this worship spread to other places, but the names varied in different countries. In Western Asia, the god Attis was worshipped as the child of miracle, born to a virgin mother Nana. In Egypt, we have again the same belief with a change of names. There is Isis and Osiris were worshipped as "Mother and Child". In Rome, the "Mother and Child" deities were known as Fortuna and Jupiterpuer; in Greece, Demeter and Dionysus; and in other countries such as India, Tibet and China. Therefore, one can easily understand how the concept of `Trinity' crept into the doctrines of Christianity as it was adapted to suit the Gentiles. This polytheistic (believing in more than one god) Trinitarianism was intertwined with Greek religion and philosophy and slowly worked its way into Christian thought and creeds some 300 years after Jesus. The idea of "God the Son" is Babylonian paganism and mythology that was grafted into Christianity. Tertullian, a lawyer and presbyter of the third century Church in Carthage, was the first to use the word "Trinity" when he put forth the theory that the Son and the Spirit participate in the being of God, but all are of one being of substance with the Father. Three centuries after Jesus, the corrupt emperor Constantine forced the minority opinion of the trinity upon the council of Nicea. The Christian church went downward from there; in fact some of the creeds and councils actually contradict each other. The council of Nicea 325 said that "Jesus Christ is God," the council of Constantinople 381 said that "the Holy Spirit is God," the council of Ephesus 431 said that "human beings are totally depraved," the council of Chalcedon 451 said that "Jesus Christ is both man and God." The Jews also reject the trinity, in addition to the very first groups of Christianity such as the Ebonites, the Corinthians, the Basilidians, the Capocratians, and the Hypisistarians never know about trinity doctrine at all. The Arians, Paulicians and Goths also accepted Jesus (peace be upon him) as a prophet of God and against the trinity. Even in the modern age there are churches in Asia, in Africa, the Unitarian church, the Jehovah's witnesses, and even the majority of today's Anglican Bishops do not worship Jesus (peace be upon him) as one in three, as what been report by the "Daily News" 25/6/84 under the heading "Shock survey of Anglican Bishops." Moreover, the 'Socinianism', the 17th-century Christian also rejects such traditional doctrines as the Trinity and original sin, the founder is Socinus, and his Latinized name of Lelio Francesco Maria Sozzini (1525-1562), the Italian Protestant theologian. Johannes Greber (1874) a former of Catholic priest in his book 'The Communication with the Spirit World of God' in page 371 was written, "As you see, the doctrine of a triune Godhead is not only contrary to common sense, but is entirely unsupported by the Scriptures". So another priest who was deny the trinity. A theologians, Edouard Schillebeeckx of the Netherlands in 1979 was writings some article that rejects the doctrine of the Trinity. This caused concern to the Vatican. |
@Tayo d & dafidixone I will talk on the bible being 100% word of God later ![]() It is Divinely Inspired "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work" (2 Timothy 3:16-17). From the above passage, we are told that the Bible guides us to the following: 1. Teaching 2. Rebuking 3. Correcting: 4. Training in righteousness Where do we group the verses below? 1 Genesis 19:30-38: Lot(as) having incestuous sexual relations with his own 2 daughters and bearing offspring. 2. Genesis 35:22: Incest between mother and son. 3. Genesis 38:1-30: Judah committing incest with his daughter-in-law and producing Pharez and Zerah, the future ancestors of Jesus(as). note that Jesus came as a result of incest had that night!! 5."One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of the palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing. The woman was very beautiful, and David sent someone to find out about her. The man said, 'Isn't this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam and the WIFE of Uriah the Hittite?' Then David sent messengers to get her. She came to him, and he slept with her. (She had purified herself from her uncleanness.) Then she went back home. (2 Samuel 11:2-4)" 6. 2 Timothy 4:9-13 9 Do your best to come to me quickly, 10 for Demas, because he loved this world, has deserted me and has gone to Thessalonica. Crescens has gone to Galatia, and Titus to Dalmatia. 11 Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, because he is helpful to me in my ministry. 12 I sent Tychicus to Ephesus. 13 When you come, bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas, and my scrolls, especially the parchments. 7. Titus 3:12-14 12 As soon as I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, do your best to come to me at Nicopolis, because I have decided to winter there. 13 Do everything you can to help Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their way and see that they have everything they need. 14 Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order that they may provide for daily necessities and not live unproductive lives. Song of Songs 8:1-3 "If only you were to me like a brother, who was nursed at my mother's breasts! Then, if I found you outside, I would kiss you, and no one would despise me. I would lead you and bring you to my mother's house-- she who has taught me. I would give you spiced wine to drink, the nectar of my pomegranates. His left arm is under my head and his right arm embraces me." Song of Solomon 8:10 "Dear brothers, I'm a walled-in virgin still, but my breasts are full— And when my lover sees me, he knows he'll soon be satisfied." etc, "Then woe to those who write the Book with their own hands, and then say: "This is from God," to traffic with it for miserable price!- Woe to them for what their hands do write, and for the gain they make thereby. (The Noble Quran, 2:79)" |
@Tayo d @topic, QuoteSorry brother, it was my pc that did that, I meant 100%. So is the bible 100% word of God? QuoteI will attend to this after this very post. |
@dafidixone Insert QuoteI will respond to this soon "For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit" (2 Peter 1:21).What prophecy are you referring to? Are you referring to those unfulfilled prophecies atrributed to Jesus? "In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe" (Hebrews 1:1-2).You can see that you nailed yourself on Jesus being your God but I will respond to that "Praise be to the LORD, who has given rest to his people Israel just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through his servant Moses" (1 Kings 8:56).What has this got to do with the topic? "Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away" (Luke 21:32-33).Are you of that when some prophecies have not been fulfilled! "Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the LORD your God that I give you" (Deuteronomy 4:2).Are you referring to Catholic, protestants or Jehovah witnessed bible? I have showed you missing verses in some versions yet you claimed that nobody adds or subtract, where was the holy spirit when they were doing all that? "But I the LORD will speak what I will, and it shall be fulfilled without delay. For, I will fulfill whatever I say, declares the Sovereign LORD" (Ezekiel 12:25).You are right jare brother ![]() "I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished" (Matthew 5:18).Are you sure of that/ Have you been to that thread on unfulfilled prophecies attributed to Jesus? |
@bobbyaf Insert QuoteI asked pilgrim questions and if you think you can be of assistance, try to answer those questions. Here are the questions again 1. Is the bible 100% word of God? 2. Is the bible 100% inspired? Thanks ![]() |
@pilgrim.1 Nice one - but a very weak attempt to scurry away from the present bloviates you started here in order to cover up your inability to answer the same question on Muhammad's prophecy, abi? Sorry, just remain focused and pay close attention to the same question I offered you on Muhammad's "prophecy" about the "SOON" coming of Jesus Christ!Should I take your above post as a sign of weakness? I posed some unfulfilled contradictions here but you couldnt say anything on those but only here to support your brother that asked question when you havent attended to my questions here. Common, I asked you questions first and you should answer me first before bringing yours. Note that you have used that strategy to avoid answering my questions in some threads when questions are being asked but you told me to answer you first before you would honor my own questions too. So here we go too. ![]() |
@pilgrim The Cross may be an offence to Muhammad. But have you carefully considered WHY Islam is so virulent against the Cross? What does it remind them of - and what are the implications of the Cross to Muslims?Okay, let me have why Islam is so virulent against the cross ![]() So I have decided to satisfy you first but note that we will dig deep into the origin of the cross and the symbol used by early christians and that the cross was brought into christianity by pagans!! ![]() |
@pilgrim Muhammad is one of those that "never knew Jesus" - and his 'references' do not count here.Heeeeeee Heeeeee ![]() Second, YOU babs787 have quoted from the same Gospels as references for Muhammad; so it is disingenous to turn round and castigate the same Gospels simply because your attempt to smuggle Muhammad into the Bible has been thoroughly bleached. Is that what is upsetting you so badly?I am not smuggling him into the Gospels but he is there and you cant deny that. For the fact that the revelation is corrupt doesnt mean that there are still no truth therein. There are truths but the original message has been distorted. For example, we all know that the revelation was given during Jesus time and not after his death and he was given only one revelation and not four gospels as we are seeign today and did you say the four gospellers witness jesus' ministry? Dont try to say that because their accounts contradicted each other. |
@pilgrim.1 As soon as you respond to the questions I offered you in the pending threads. My dear sister that happened to be the greatest maradona on nairaland . So it has now turned to that . Ok, let me have your questions that I have not answered. ![]() |
@pilgrim.1 You want to deflect this thead like you used to abi . No chance for you here o yeye girl ![]() This is the question again: could a catholic,a protestant and jehover's witness please given an explanation of trinity with citation from holy book. |
@pilgrim.1 W here in the Bible do we read that Jesus was a Muslim?Allah in the Quran that happens to be the last book tells us that Jesus was a muslim and if you think that he is not, kindly provide any verse from the bible, showing that he wasnt and supply verse that shows that he was a christian Thanks |
@pilgrim.1, Jesouil and longman I know that you would fall for the bait. We have all known that the questions are really from a site and I knew that you would want to deviate, so I have decided to spice the questions up, taking them one after the other and backing them up with verses from the Quran and bible. So we take them one at a time 1. Why should Jesus specifically forbid, on the one hand, preaching the Gospel to the Gentiles Matthew 7:6,15:24,26) and yet on the other, tell the disciples to teach all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost? (Matthew 28:19)? So let us read from the bible to see if Jesus' mission was limited to Israelite alone or not. mattew 1v21: and she shall bring forth a son, and thou shall call his name Jesus for he shall save his people from their sins. Who are Jesus people? The Jews are the people of Jesus because he was sent to them alone. John 4v21-22: Jesus said unto her, woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem worship the father, ye worship ye know not what we know. We know we worship, for SALVATION is of the JEWS. Jesus said that salvation is for the Jews because he came for Jews alone. Mathew 15v24-26: but he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel……, Here Jesus said, he was sent to the lost sheep of Israel although there are other countries apart from Israel but was sent only to them. Mathew 10v5-6: these twelve, Jesus sent them forth and commanded them saying, go not on the way of the gentiles and unto any city of the Samaritans, enter ye not, but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Math 19v28: and Jesus said unto them, verily I say unto you, that which have followed me, in the regeneration when the son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, you also shall sit upon twelve thrones judging the twelve tribe of Israel. Jesus said that he and his disciples will judge the twelve tribes because he was sent only to Israel. Also from the Holy Quran Quran 3v49: and (make him) an apostle to the children of Israel…. Quran 43v59: he (Jesus) was naught but a servant on whom we bestowed favour and we made him an example for the children of Israel. Quran 3v61: but whoever dispute with you in this matter concerning Jesus after what has come to you of knowledge, then say : come let us call our sons and your sons and our women and your women and our near people and your near people, then let us be earnest in prayer, and pray for the curse of Allah on the liars. So, why did he forbid his disciples from going to gentiles but told them to preach to all nations and please what do you understand by all nations? |
@Pilgrim.1 You are confused just because the Quran didnt so abi. Butr have you not been served facts showing that your revelation is corrupt and can not be said to be the original given to earlier prophets. The Quran came to confirm and correct the early revelations that have been distorted.God gave Jesus a revelation and not four Gospels in which their accounts happened to be contradicting each other. Also, the revelation given was during Jesus' time and not the Gospel that was written after his demise. Now in all honesty, let us look at one correction here and do tell me which one you will want to give people out of the Quran and biblical versions of the same story about Jesus. Matthew 1 v 18: Now the birth of Jesus christ was in this wise: when as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph , before they came together, She was found with child of the Holy spirit. Was he God's son or Son of the Holy spirit? Luke 1 v 35: and the angel answered and said unto her, 'the Holy Ghost shall come upon thee and the power of the Highest shall overshdow thee Now please, do we say Holy Spirit impregnated Mary according to the above passage? Now read the Quranic version of the same story: Quran 3 v 47: He said, even so Allah created what He willeth. When he hath decreed a plan, he but said to it 'BE' ad it is. See similar account from the book of Genesis 1 v 3: when God said 'BE' and 'it was' Which of the versions will you like to stick to? |
Salam Alaekun Waramatulah Wabarakatuh In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful Misconceptions about Islam Causes 1. The natural gap in understanding between different cultures and beliefs. It is natural to human beings to grwo up regarding their own society and its beliefs and culture as normal and reasonable. By this standard, the beliefs and culture of aother peole seem strange, abnormal and unreasonable. To a non-muslim, the wearing of veil by woman seems at first stragne and burdensome likewise a muslim whois used to seeing women in veil often feels shocked to swee non muslim women going round exposing their bodies in a way she fins immodest. It is necessary therefore to be very objective in dealing with people's beliefs and cultural practices and not to assume that one's own beliefs and culture are automatically right and good and others belief and cultures are wrong or bad. 2. Some muslims have themselves misunderstood or disobeyed the teaching of Islam or have confused Islam with their local cuklture and beliefs and do ot know the difference. Some have failed to behave in accordance with islamic teachings due to natuiral human weaknesses. It is fair to assess Islam on the basis of what it traches and the results seen when it is practised. It is not fair to assess it on the basius of things some muslims do that are contrary to Islam, nor it is fair to assess it by what goes on in some muslim countries where Islam is not put into practice or where Islam ius suppressed by the rulers. Nor is it fair to expect every muslim to be enlightened and perfect and to blame Islam if he is not. 3. Lastly, there has been deliberate distortion, misrepresentation and invention of falsehood about Islam by those who oppose muslioms for religious, ideological or politicalk reasons. Distortions of the truth about Islam began in the European middle Ages. As Islam spread and the Islamic world expanded from the 7th century onwards across North Africa, through Spain and Turkey into Southern Europe, the christian church and the European rulers felt threatened religiously and politically. They moibilized armies to goto Palestine on crusades to fight Islam, In order to arouse the people's hatred and fear of Islam, they invented false stories e.g muslims were pagans, idol worshippers, they called prophet Mahoud and made him into a devil with with to frighten children. Thise Europenas who reached Palestine were often surprised to find the muslims more advanceds in science, technology and civilization than they themselves. Some of them stayed on there and became muslims. Christian scholars passed on the same scandalous stories in their books so that hatred of Islam was inherited from generation to generation. Christian and jewish minorities continued to live in the muslim world for centuries where they practised their religion and lived peacefully alongside the muslims. However, christian societies could not tolerate the presence of Muslims or jews. When after 750 years of Islamiuc rules, Spain was re conquered by the christians, the muslims and jews were either forced to convert to christianity or killed unless they could escape. By portraying the muslims as stupid and barbaric, the church could raise huge funds to send missionaries to muslim lands. At the same time the colonial govts could justify their occupation of muslim lands on the ground that they were bringing them education, law and enlightenement. In the later part of the 20th century, as the colonial powers declined and withdrew, serious scholars, both muslims and honest non muslims were able to expose as fasle as many of the allegations made about Islam. Amon uneducated people and among the people who do not want to hear the truth, ignorance remains and many of the old stories and fasle allegations are still in circulation in books and in various media. Hence, even today, there are chridtians who have been brainwashed into believing muslims worship idol called Allah!. There are christians who have been taught that muslims believe they will go to paradise if they kill a christians etc. I will start on those misconceptions soon. |
@dominique salam once again. theres something i like to know if it happens to you too. sometimes when you are in a congregation and the iman is saying a long surah you don't know. do you drift away and lose concentration in and once you realise this, what do you say (as in supplication). please i will like to know what supplications i can recite so i can concentrate. normally, i seek refuge from the cursed shaiton and try to concentrate.Salam sister, it does happen but Insha Allah I will come with the Hadith hat and rulings on that from Figh U- Sunnah on Salat. Jazakumlahi khairan (hope i spelt it right:DIt is Jazakhullah Khairan. ![]() Stay blessed till you hear from me. |
@longman Insert QuoteYou may ignore if you think its too hard for you. You should be bold enough to reply the questions. Babyosis, now Nwando has been lifting from links yet muslims respond but here you are exposing your falsehood further. I came across those questions when going through that links and I felt that it would further explain what christianity is all about. So provide answers to those questions ifd you think that they are mere allegations supporting your answers with verses from your bible. |
1. Why should Jesus specifically forbid, on the one hand, preaching the Gospel to the Gentiles Matthew 7:6,15:24,26) and yet on the other, tell the disciples to teach all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost? (Matthew 28:19) 2. Why did Jesus prohibit the Gospel from being preached to the Gentiles during his ministry (Matthew 10:5, 7:6,15:24-26) but after his 'resurrection' tell them to preach the Gospel to the whole world? (Mark 16:15) If Jesus really had made the latter statement, why was there such a fierce debate within the early Church (and particularly between Peter and Paul) as to whether the Gospel should be preached to the Gentiles? (Acts 15:6-30) 3. Out of all the signs that Jesus could have given about himself, he chose to give the sign of Jonah: This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign but no sign shall be given to it except the sign of Jonah. (Luke 11:29, Matthew 12:39, Matthew 16) Jonah was swallowed alive by a whale and remained in its belly alive for three days. For Jesus to have properly fulfilled the prophecy, he would need to enter the tomb alive and come out alive. Why should Jesus give this, of all signs, if he was to die and be resurrected? 4. If Jesus's message was for the whole of mankind, why did he forbid his disciples to preach to the Gentiles? (Matthew 10:5-6) 5. When Jesus was asked what the only way was to true salvation,he replied: keep the Commandments (Matthew 19:17). The first of the Commandments was to believe in the Oneness of God (Exodus 20:3). Why did Jesus answer so if he believed in and was part of the Trinity? Why did he not refer to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost? 6, Jesus said that he had not come to change the Law of Moses (Matthew 5:17). The Law of Moses teaches that there is one God (Exodus 20:3). If Jesus was introducing the concept of Trinity, why did he not say that he was changing the Law of Moses or introducing a different 7. Jesus prophesied that men of his generation would not pass away without witnessing his second coming and the falling of stars (Mark 9:1, 13:30). Why was this prophecy unfulfilled? Why was it that Jesus did not return within the lifetime of his generation? 8. Why did Jesus forbid the disciples from calling people fools yet called the Jewish leaders with names like vipers and children of adultery? Is it conceivable that a Divine Being would behave in this way? 9. According to Luke, when the Jews tried Jesus they asked him Are you the son of God? Jesus replied you say that I am (Luke 22:70) which could mean: you say that I am but I do not. If his divinity was something he came to tell the world, why did he not plainly say yes instead of couching his answer in ambiguous terms? 10. In the Old Testament, the term Son of God was applied to David (Psalms 89:27), the nation of Israel (Exodus 4:22), the children of Israel (Psalms 82:6), and Solomon (1 Chronicles 22:10). Jesus also used it for the peacemakers (Matthew 5:9). If Jesus was referring to himself as the Son of God in the literal sense, why did he not make it clear that he was differentiating between a symbolic reference and a literal meaning of the term? 11. Jesus was the Messiah, the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies. He frequently made reference to himself as the suffering servant foretold in the Book of Isaiah (Matthew 8:17 & Isaiah 53:4; Luke 2:30 & Isaiah 52:10; Luke 22:37 & Isaiah 53:12). The Messiah of the Old Testament was, however, promised by God that he would not be killed (Psalms 34:19, Isaiah 53:10). How was it, therefore, that the Jews had succeeded in killing the Messiah if Jesus died on the cross? 12. If Jesus knew that Judas was going to betray him, why did he continue to permit him as a disciple? Why did he not tell the other disciples so that Judas could be excluded from his closest circle of followers? 13. If Jesus knew that one of his disciples would betray him, why should he say that all twelve disciples would sit upon twelve thrones? (Matthew 19:28) 14. If Jesus knew that he was to die on the cross, why did he spend all night praying in the Garden of Gethsemane seeking deliverance: Father if it is possible may this cup be taken from me? (Matthew 26:39) 15. Jesus had taught that man's prayers are answered the Garden of Gethsemane? What effect would this incident have on the faith of his disciples and followers to see that a prayer had not been answered contrary to what Jesus had taught? Thanks. Please no deflection, others will come up when you answer these. Salam. |
@justcool Thank you so much for examining my words. At least you are addressing the issue and not attacking personalities.I dont do that but reply if someone start it. My posts speaks for me. However you chose not to accept my explanations. You chose to believe that the son of God was talking to their physical bodies rather than their spirits. I cannot force you to accept the Truth, you either take it or live it. Rest assured, I stand proudly by my words which none have been able to ridicule. No brother, I have been involved in what you called truth for years before reverting to Islam, so I know a lot about your bible. Go through the prophecies again and my posts and you would see that he wasnt referring to spiritual death as you imagined but all the same I wish you best of luck in your endeavours Stay blessed brother. ![]() |
@davidylan above is hogwash for the following reasons:You are still here making reference to the sayings of those that never knew Jesus but have been making scores of contradictions which are being discovered daily. ![]() |
Pilgrim.1 The Cross may be an offence to Muhammad. But have you carefully considered WHY Islam is so virulent against the Cross? What does it remind them of - and what are the implications of the Cross to Muslims? Are you ready to debate with me that early christians didnt use cross but used fish and it was brought into christianity by pagans and please what does the cross stands for according to your statement? ![]() |
@pilgrim.1 Your denial will not you in any way. Second, this thread was opened for a simple enquiry: "WHERE does the Qur'an say so" in reference to babs787's assertion that the Qur'an came to "correct" the Biblical scriptures. Do you have the verse where the Qur'an claims to have come to "correct" the Biblical scriptures, olabowale? Does the Qur'an ever make that claim ANYWHERE in any of the 114 Suras? If you do not have such a verse in your Qur'an, would you please refrain from your adventures of LYING for 'Allah' in order to appear intelligent where you obviously are worsening your emptiness? You still continue looking for what to say after serving you verses on corruption of early revelation. If the Quran didnt come to correct the early revelation, why was it revealed and if it didnt come to confirm early revelations, why is the Quran having similar account with the bible in some instances? I thought you claimed that Muhammad wasnt an illiterate but you havent served me where you found him to be literate. ![]() |
@xvalier All the questions raised by babs787 is not an issue, he clearly lacks understanding, most of the things he stated have no correlation. What else do you expect from those that are inclined to falsehood. Now consider a scenario where one of your folks asks muslim questions and muslim didnt respond, what will be your response? Rather than explain the contradictions in your holy book, you keep praising each other on falsehood. I am sure there are a lot of people in this forum that can answer questions regarding the questions stated earlier, if every one is cool, lets move on.I am sure pilgrim.1 will do that ![]() @pilgrim.1 Your input will still be appreciated ![]() ![]() |
@pilgrim Please if Jesus wasnt a muslim, what religion did he practised and try to back same with verses from your bible. Thanks |
@dominique Salaam friends. may the peace and blessings of Allah (S.W.T) be upon the Prophet (S.A.W) and members of his household (Amin). its always grand to be in the mist of fellow muslims, i've learnt so much about Islam ever since i reconverted though i can't say i'm well grounded but i'm trying sha .I am very happy for you and I pray that may Allah continue to guide and make Islam easy for you. Practising Islam may seem to hard at the beginning but you will find out that it is very easy to, just like when I first started. I would be in the state of ablution and other things which may look stressful and does not apply to christianity. nice can't wait. may Allah continue to increase you in knowlege. Thanks sister, I will start tomorrow INSHA ALLAH but in the meantime, scroll through the pages of this same thread and learn lots about Islam. Maa Salam |
@9ja Insert QuoteBrother, Jehovah witness does not believe in trinity and I even have their awake magazine on trinity with me. So leave Jehovah witness out of this. @davidylan Another deluded muslim pretending to ask about the trinity as if he is really interested in knowledge . . .Why not shut your mouth if you have nothing sensible to say . If you are ready, we dig deep into that topic that has remained a misery to christian world. |
@pilgrim Let me have where Muhammad started Islam and I will give you verses from the Quran telling you that those before him were Muslims and practised same but it wasd during his time that it was made complete (i.e five compulsory daily prayers etc). So if you are ready for a debate on that, I am equally ready to lecture you ![]() @Justcool Since Pilgrim.1 is not ready to reply the false prophecies attributed to Jesus but quick at addressing the 82% sayings that are not of Jesus, I will attend to your post that seemed to be your response towards the falseuun0fulfilled prophecies. Dont worry, we just started, by the time I am through with your bible, we will know if surely all the sayings attributed to him are his. Thanks for trying to reply but your response didnt go well with those prophecies. Now let us consider the biblical sayings in question in the light of the knowledge above.Good 1. Matthew 10:23 - When giving instructions to his apostles as to just how they are to go about spreading his message Jesus says," . . . for truly I say unto you, you shall not finish going through the cities of Israel until the Son of Man comes." They have since perished but son of man hasnt come You are wrong to say that they have perished because only their physical bodies perished. Jesus spoke to their spirits, which are still alive and are still spreading His massage. Some of them are on earth today (reincarnated) and are still carrying on the task that Jesus gave them; and up till today the true message of Christ have finished going through the cities of Israel. They will continue this task till the Son of man comes.Brother, why bringing the issue of perished and physical body here when the verse is self explanatory? In case you missed the verse, here is what it says " you shall not finish going through the cities of Israel until the Son of Man comes." Now Jesus made it known to us that he was talking to those that were with him then, hence the word 'you'. The verse says that they wouldnt have gone through the cities when he would come meaning that he was referring to physical bodies and not your believe that he was referring to their spirits. Quote from: babs787 on December 20, 2007, 06:10 PM 2. Matthew 16:28 - Jesus says to his disciples, "There are some of those standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom." They have all tasted death without the sign of son of man. Once again here, Jesus was referring to Spiritual death and not physical death. So you are wrong to say that they have all tested death. Some of them are on earth today and some will be reincarnated on earth at the time when the Son of man will come in His kingdom on earth.Brother, too hard for you to explain . You got it wrong. He wasnt referring to spiritual death. Common, Jesus made a very straight forward statement by saying that 'those standing with him would not taste death till he comes. who are you referring to when you said that 'some of them are on earth now'?. Are you saying that those with Jesus when he made that statement are still around now/ Common, dont give me that, you cant pull wool over me when it comes to reading the bible.Quote from: babs787 on December 20, 2007, 06:10 PM 3. Matthew 24:33-34 - " . . . when you shall see all these things, know that it (the 2nd coming) is near, even at the door. This generation shall not pass till these things be fulfilled." He was obviously referring to the contemporary generation. The generation has passed without the fulfilment of his sayings. Here Jesus' saying has a deep spiritual meaning. “This generation will not pass away” is meant in the spiritual sense. For a generation to pass away means that they have completed their maturity and have returned to Paradise. A spirit in Paradise does not have return to earth anymore, it has risen above the material realms i.e. the physical worlds, to which the earth belong, and the beyond, where spirits sojourn after physical death. Only by living in accordance to God's will can a spirit be able to disentangle all that ties it to material things and be allowed to enter Paradise. This is the completion of spiritual ascent, which is tantamount to passing away from the material worlds.Buroda , dont blindfold me with your spiritual death. The verses are above your understanbding hence your beating about the bush. I dont know why christians like addressing issue wrongly despite even if the truth is very glaring. Jesus here made a statement that even a toddler can interprete without beating about the bush, he said that 'this generation shall not pass till these things be fulfilled' and you keep mentioning spiritual death. He was referring to those with him and their generation and can you please tell me if the generation we are now is the same as that of Jesus?Quote from: babs787 on December 20, 2007, 06:10 PM 4. Matthew 26:64 - When brought before Caiaphas, the Chief Priest, Jesus said to him, "I tell you, hereafter you shall see the Son of Man . . . coming on the clouds of heaven." According to this the second coming was to happen during Caiaphas' lifetime but nothing of such happened. Here you must understand that Jesus was speaking from the Spiritual perspective and the Spiritual time and space is different from physical/earthly time and space. For example a thousand years on earth is like a minute in Paradise. Therefore the "hereafter" which was said, to us means very soon but to somebody seeing from the spiritual perspective may mean a thousand years later if compared to earthly time. Why not stop this your spiritual death for a second and read to understand rather than giving me what you had no knowledge of. Jesus says that "I tell you, hereafter you shall see the Son of Man . . . coming on the clouds of heaven." . He was referring to those that arrested and tried him and when you said that he was referring to caiphas spiritual lifetime, is caiphas going to see the son of man coming on the clouds of heaven when he (caiphas) is already in heaven!!! Common, read to understand, Jesus was referring to those with him that they would see him on the clouds of heaven probably when he will be coming to make judgement. ![]() Quote from: babs787 on December 20, 2007, 06:10 PM 5. Mark 9:1 - Jesus said to the people and to his disciples, ”Verily I say unto you, that there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power. They have all perished with no sign of son of man. Once again this is easy to understand if one considers the spiritual meaning. The death Jesus spoke about here is spiritual death, so you are wrong to say that they have all perished.Of course it is very easy to understand but you interpreted it wrongly.Continue hiding behind spiritual death . Jesus made us known that 'Verily I say unto you, that there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power'. What could be as clear as this?He said that those standing would not taste death till son of man comes and you said he was referring to spiritual death. Haba, are you saying that he meant 'those standing here will not taste spiritual death till he comes?!!! Now from his statement, he made us known that some of them (not all of them) will not taste death, are you saying that he meant spiritual and we decide to go by your statement, if some will not taste spiritual death, what happened to others when he said that 'some of them that stand here'? Quote from: babs787 on December 20, 2007, 06:10 PM 6. Luke 21:27-28 -Jesus said to the congregation, “And then shall they see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” Still they have all perished with no sign of him . Once again you are wrong to say that they have all perished. Some of them may be on earth today (reincarnated) but rest assure they will all reincarnate when the Son of man comes.Did you say some may be on earth!! . If I am wrong in saying that they have all perished, please where are they now and what does perish mean to you? Jesus made a statement to those with him (congregation) “And then shall they see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”His statement made us known that he was referring to physical death and not spiritual death. He completed the verse by saying that 'then look up and lift your heads' meaning that he was referring to physical being and not spiritual death you have been posting all these wile . Quote from: babs787 on December 20, 2007, 06:10 PM 7. Luke 21:32 - Jesus said, again to the congregation, “This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.” But the generation has passed without any fulfillment. Once again you are wrong, in the spiritual since that generation has not passed away. I have explained this above.Buroda, you flawed in your post again . Jesus made a self explanatory statement therein when he said that' this generation shall not pass away and please what generation do you think he was referring and do we still have the generation he referred toQuote from: babs787 on December 20, 2007, 06:10 PM 9. Even one million earth years is still very quickly compared to spiritual time. Jesus spoke from spiritual perspective. Once again you are wrong to say that they have all passed away. Please lets not drag the Holy words of Jesus down. Lets not use Holy words as weapons for fighting and defending religions. The words were given to our spirits and if we open our spirits to the words in the correct manner, our spirits will find its way back to Paradise and live forever. I have drawn my knowledge from "In the Light of Truth: The Grail Message" by ABD-RU-SHIN. Being an imperfect human spirit my explanation cannot be perfect. If you want hear from the horses mouth, from the Truth Itself, read the Grail MessageBrother, dont spoon feed me with your spiritual death which you dont even understand. I understand the bible perfectly more than you can ever imagine cos it happened to be the first book I read before Quran. Now let us look at his saying again in that verse ' Jesus says, "Behold, I come quickly'. Do I need to explain to you before you will understand the simple saying attributed to Jesus. Brother, you tried but didnt get it. Thsoe sayings couldnt have been for Jesus. ![]() |

!! If you no longer believe that, we can now move on to the next stage in this thread where I intend to bleach you and you folks a bit further and expose the duplicity of Muhammad's fabrications. Fair enough?
