faoogoke:Market Price yesterday was between 13.80 and 13.95 for Wemabank shares. The rights offer is for N10.45. That's a gain of about N3 if I sell on the market now and use it to fund purchase of the rights. That means you could have gotten about N600k net of fees if you sold the equivalent volume of rights and buying it back by taking up your rights. This is now heads up for me to decide on taking action. Sell on the floor and take it back as rights the volume I have sold and pocket the difference as a gain Or just take up my rights as WEMA has a trailing PE of about 2 using rights price and 2024 FY earnings. Also looks like a dividend yield of about 9 to 10% doable going forward based on rights price. |
emmaodet:Below is a search summary of what BETA glass currently does. "BETA Glass primarily focuses on glass packaging solutions for industries like beverages, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. While they are a major supplier of glass products in Nigeria, there is no clear indication that they manufacture glass specifically for Nigerian car assemblers." If they can expand to supply glass to one of the Car assemblers in Nigeria (i.e. if they are not already doing so to 1 or 2 assemblers) then they should have bigger and expanding sales if the FG continues of the path of increased local content for cars in Nigeria. Vitafoam can even benefit from this too sef. |
Sunrisepebble:The current numbers suggest that should be doable. Some shareholders were even asking for N7 going forward. If they can sustain the interim at N2 and Final at N3 I think they have tried. |
UBA directors picking up units on the floor. Good sign. In the last AGM TOE reported the last Rights was fully subscribed. That they will still do a further rights offer to meet up CBN recapitalization target. That they won't do a PO but rights as they want shareholders to benefit fully from the growth of the bank's assets now that the market's valuation is underpricing them. |
yMcy56:SEPLAT is not as liquid as it should be. The negative side of the high market price per unit coupled with the 100k single transaction to move is not helpful. |

RodgersAkpafu:I notice two Zenith Bank dividend credits. One tallied exactly with What I had before rights, plus the rights. And additional I bought on the floor. While the other credit matched the public offer I took. Looks like the PO was separated out in the dividend payments. If you have not got the PO dividends perhaps it is still on the way or you had a different account for its dividend payment or something separated it out and it should be hanging somewhere waiting to be credited to you. |
Pete002:Yes those who bought the public offer last year are qualified to get this divided. |
. |
KarlTom:Did he talk about the UBA capital raise. The 2025Q1 showed the last capital raise is not yet completed. Perhaps like GTB they didn't raise up to 60% of what they set out to raise for the rights. |
chimex38:I think this is where governors and local entrepreneurs need to work as a team and grow the GDP of their states. Perhaps upcoming change in State security arrangements being vested more in the hand of the state instead of the FG will help governors create a more secure environment for security. The VAT changes will also empower the governor that seats up unlike what used to happen. I am looking at Edo state, pray all Agric related stocks there (PRESCO, OKOMU, ELLAHLAKES) will witness massive growth |
chimex38:The punch writer (Oluwakemi Abimbola) deep dive into the 2024 AFS revealed the following banks paid N205.6b wind fall tax Bank N (b) Zenith 63.31 UBA 57.91 GTCO 51.25 IBTC 17.18 Fidelity 13.33 Wema 2.62 This can now be compared to the N17.67b reported by FCMB I guess this is all they will be paying as the writer quoted the UBA's note For 2023 & 2024 based on engagements & reconciliations this is full payment N24.81 & 33.092 respectively for the years |
Youngzedd:When would people know he has started buying - weeks ? or months after ? Perhaps one can still get a middle or back row seat after then or no better seat again sef on the better stocks |
chimex38:They have added the new shares. They had 100% dilution from 19.8 to 39.6 billion shares listed. They reported paying windfall tax of N17.7 billion. I have not observed any other bank state their windfall tax on the income statement, perhaps its hidden in the notes or deferred. |
Dum20:There is success with morals and ethics and there is success without morals and ethics. In fact the Novel God father coined behind every great I think some are mixing moral decay and poor ethics with IQ here. People should look up what the IQ construct means. Or perhaps they don't care to know the definition of IQ and just use the abbreviation loosely to cover all forms of intelligence. |
SonofElElyonRet:Native Intelligence should be a combination of Emotional Intelligence and Social Intelligence. Leading people and organizations to deliver results successfully is not directly related to one's IQ but rather to one's Emotional Intelligence & Social Intelligence. It's also worth noting that having high IQ doesn't automatically mean one is gifted with a high EI or SI Below are some definitions from Meta AI to help in getting a better view of the definitions of IQ, EI and SI so as not to mix them all up as the same thing. Intelligence Quotient (IQ) is a score derived from standardized tests designed to measure human intelligence, particularly cognitive abilities such as reasoning, problem-solving, and thinking. Emotional Intelligence (EI) refers to the ability to recognize and understand emotions in oneself and others, and to use this awareness to guide thought and behavior, enabling effective relationships and decision-making. Social intelligence refers to the ability to effectively navigate and negotiate complex social relationships and environments. It's a multifaceted construct that involves several key components, including social awareness, social cognition, social skills and behavior, and empathy and perspective-taking.¹ Think of social intelligence like a Swiss Army knife of social skills, with each tool serving a specific purpose. It's what allows us to understand others' motivations, empathize with their feelings, and respond appropriately in various social contexts. In essence, social intelligence is about being able to read the room, understand the unspoken rules and expectations, and adapt your behavior to different social situations. It's a vital skill that can make all the difference in our personal and professional lives.² ³ |
SonofElElyonRet:What are the positive sentiments for it?. I am neutral, tending towards being bearish sentimentally. But can change rapidly with more info and better understanding of the business & its managers. |
NettyNelly:Thanks. He's a change agent for the good (prosperity) of China ! |
Streetinvestor2:See the 30 minutes video. Warning: Can cause bearish pessimist feelings for OANDO, SEPLAT & ARADEL. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXvvVDTcNoo?si=aU2xMVocwK8AfEtx |
The video made me bearish for the oil companies like SEPLAT, ARADEL & OANDO for any kind of fresh purchases. The only oil companies worth buying now appear to be palm oil companies ![]() KarlTom: |
NettyNelly:Just hearing LI LU from you. Who is he? Just saw a video yesterday of Toyota's $13,000 EV being launched. Excellent Videos. Even in Naija at the price one is tempted to buy. The EV world is going to be very competitive in the coming years at the rate it's going it may crash oil prices and crush oil companies! |
RodgersAkpafu:It will be nice to see why he invested in BYD. Sold something and bought just a little more UBA. Could not resist the N37 that has a N3 dividend attached. Also knowing the last rights which I didn't take was done at N35. A nice support point I hope, |
Interesting. Sellers are keeping UBA price beaten down despite the fantastic Earnings and dividends. Well that's how they sold it down to N3 some years back, resisted it rising above N7 also some years back. This market Ellahlakes sellers selling steadily. Perhaps mngt and staff paid in shares are booking some money into their pockets. Loaded more yesterday and today. Pray they succeed in the Oil Palm business. Seeing Chinese BYD news - It beating Tesla in 2024 sales. And watching and reading up on BYD some time back and how they are poised to grow massively in the coming years. It's worth noting Warren bought $230 million worth of BYD in 2008 and that his investment is worth $5.5 billion today. That's more than x20 returns. |
egojeny1:What a good way to start this week and close the last trading days of Q1 ![]() |
BabsO2:Good to see the panic short lived. Oando & Transcorp remain unchanged and UBA has started gaining back. ![]() |
. |
BabsO2:Chai Oando fell below N50. Closed at N48.30 Even Transcorp too fall below N50 closing at N47.00 Aah. UBA follow join in shedding weight below the last rights price. Not nice. ![]() |
currentprice:A high risk of panic in the market tomorrow even if fat dividends get announced tomorrow. As markets hate uncertainty as events unfold in Rivers state watching for any sign of contagion or containment. |
chimex38:If interim is sustained that will be good. CBN cannot hold it back forever ![]() |
chimex38:What do you guess he will pay as final dividend for UBA.? |
