You're missing the point!!!
Being gay is not just about gay sex just as love is not just about sex.
You just quote the Bible from beginning to end but you can't interprete it with wisdom.
I don't care how you have sex with your wife or husband ( by the way are you male or female?) To me, as long as you both love each other, you both can use whatever positions or methods to give yourselves pleasure during sex.

Some people just like acting blind and intentionally ignore the main point of certain issues. Sex is not the main point of the lgbtq+ community. The main point is that love is love regardless of one's gender. We fall in love with other people's souls and not their body.
My body was given to me so it should not define me but my soul is who I am therefore, it defines me.
If my soul loves the soul of another female then how is that wrong? I love her personality and not just her body.

Please let us stop this unreasonable spread of hate and intolerance.

Love is love.
Among the numerous hateful mentions you will get from hypocritical Nigerians for this awesome post, let me be the odd one out to thank you for being Christ-like and tolerant. I am an Atheist but when I see Christians like these I have a soft spot for you lots and you let me know that not all people are affected by the hateful tendencies religion plants in people.

Homosexuality is a form of love, it is victimless and therefore deserves our respect for that. Anyone who doesn't like two consenting adults professing love for each other should keep their opinions in the closet.

Again, thank you and bless your heart for this post.

Fair points.

I don't think our space has an aversion to cycling. Not at all. I am with you on this - those old pictures do show several cyclists on the move on some well known bridges. The advantages of a cycling culture are simply not open to debate by sensible people. But making these things work requires vision, thoughtful planning and sensible execution by the powers that be - and these things are in short supply here.

People respond to incentives. If the reward and punishment system is distorted and/or contradictory, then people make their own choices the best way they can. Why should I endanger my life cycling on bad roads that do not have dedicated bicycle lanes? It is simply suicidal to compete for road space with insane motorists who consider cyclists a nuisance to be crushed at will. undecided

Over the years we reached several forks in the road when we had to make critical choices about our public infrastructure. Unfortunately, we chose poorly and ended up with a bastard version of the US model (in which life is organized around the automobile with no room for pedestrians or cyclists) undecided. The only thing preventing us from becoming morbidly obese like the Americans is the mass poverty in our system and the fact that junk food hasn't really tightened its grip around us yet. But we are getting there.
Great post. I agree completely with every single word in this write-up. Thank you!

The infrastructure just isn't there. That's the real problem.

Without an integrated transport plan nothing sustainable will take place.

The Dutch are the standard when it comes to transport systems in which cycling is central. They didn't get there by accident.

Nigeria is light years away from this. Former minister Ojo Maduekwe tried some years ago to float the idea of mass cycling - and predictably, his suggestion was met with derision.

We are not ready yet.
You are not incorrect. But I don't totally think the nigerian space is alien to cycling culture. Pictures of the colonial era and few post colonial years usually depict a prevalent cycling culture. It is just a pity that has been overshadowed by egoistic, poison-emitting and lousy combustion engines in cars.

But even the Dutch went through that phase when cars wanted to make a comeback to their roads. They resisted it and now those countries are inarguably the quietest, most green, serene and traffic-resistant areas of the world. And of course the air quality is so good. Car engines are just silent killers.

Funny but true. The African ego in us about things that do not matter are what makes us comfortable in stressful and completely avoidable situations.

Denmark, Belgium and Netherlands are the countries nigerian governors and ministers run to to beg for solutions to the traffic problem. These countries have excellent transport systems free of the slightest traffic jam and it is all because of one thing: bicycles and prioritising cycling infrastructure.

Why do you think Bicycles cannot be used in some areas? A lot of developed countries are actually incentivising riding. It is just simply a more sustainable form of transport. These are countries with even more challenging topography in hills and mountains compared to Nigeria and bicycles are their main form of transport.

A geared bike makes it so much easier to climb hills. There are bicycles than can get you up to speeds of 75km/h on a flat. Because of gears. Family men, women, Adults, Teenagers, Paeds. Even old people can ride without hassles. Gear technology has made it possible for anyone to get on a bike and ride peacefully and stress free.

Cycling is the future. It's simply better than other forms of transport.

6. Ditch your car and get a bicycle. Good for your health. Good for the environment. No such thing as traffic congestion on bicycles. No toxic gas emissions. Maintenance costs 20x less than the average car. Eliminates noise pollution from lousy combustion engines. Less lives lost by auto accidents and motorcycle accidents and so much more.

Bicycles are the future.

Edit: Anytime you see a cyclist in front of you on the road, that is one less person in a car who would have added to the already bad traffic situation. Pay us some respect.

Yes, im sure. note that im not talking about religious beliefs, but scientific facts that the Qur'an backs up...like how a baby is formed in the womb, geological facts, etc. They were light years ahead in that regard

Plus Islam actively encourages followers to seek wisdom and knowledge...its actually in the hadeeth... any Imam that preaches against it is preaching against Islam since Islam is not afraid of being probed by science and logic..they dont need to shield the followers from anything if theyre serious

Its actually a stain on their preaching if they cannot effectively counteract somebody's questions or queries with Qur'anic knowledge
I would like to think that no scientific fact written in the Qur'an was not entirely unknown at the time. As a little bit of research could reveal that the Quran did not pioneer the discovery of most of the scientific theories it now claims to have uncovered. Perhaps, such knowledge was not as widespread at the time and the book only helped to 'publicise' them. And it probably deserves some accolades for that.

But that is, of course, ignoring the seemingly ridiculous number of scientific explanations the Quran got totally wrong. The production of sperm from the ribs is an incredibly laughable example.

I have met Muslims who hate Christians as much. Wishing them death and a prospective hell is also a sign of your hate. So you are basically projecting here. (I know you cannot help it).

Both religions combined have bred more hate than love and it is why they must be blotted out from the majority in any modern society.

You have a point, but in highly educated societies/countries it's citizens naturally do away with sections of ( Bible, Quran, Buddhist pamplets etc) that promotes uncontrolled procreation. They only give birth to children they can take care of while still adhering to their religion.
Some don't even give birth at all because of missionary travelling work but still adhere to their faith.
I think all classes of people do away with parts of their "holy book" they do not agree with.

Evangelical christians do away with parts of the Bible where it says to put to death anyone who does work on sundays. Fundamental christians do not preach that anyone with two different fabric material in one cloth will go to hell.

Most Muslims do not obey the Quran when it says to kill unbelievers.

Cherrypicking is one thing that unites abrahamic theists rather than divide them.

That said, the misogynistic tendencies of both religions still stands out.

What the backward imam said had nothing to do with Islam..he's just promoting a particular agenda that exists to keep certain regions of the country in bondage
I seem to agree to your post, especially the first part. But on the second part, are you sure about it?

Most religious beliefs are easily displaced with some knowledge of basic science. And I think it is understandable, although reprehensible, when religious leaders try to shield their followers from accepting logic and the scientific method in weighing their pre-held beliefs.

Libya(pre-war), Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar etc are predominantly Islamic countries but their citizens don't breed like Rabbits, they have family planning to check population explosion and they make education compulsory for women. These has helped them to manage their resources well.
I think the main problem of those countries breeding like rabbits is education not religion.
That is an interesting observation, Jimoh. But if education is the problem, then is religion still not a culprit? Evidence points to the fact that religion promotes ignorance.

A lot of religious organizations tell people that a human's primary purpose on earth is to multiply. As it is what as particularly instructed to humans by god to do under any circumstances. And anyone who comes to earth without offspring wastes his life.

Islam for one, is a notorious promoter of ignorance. The alma-jiri menace in the north is an example. Boko Haram are against 'western education' as part of their agenda. I have been to a 'was' where the imam was confidently telling the listening followers that university education is not permitted by Allah. And that in fact science is 'haram.'
PoliticsRe: Sanwo-Olu To Complete N50.3bn 70 Mil Gallons Adiyan Waterworks Project by Bacteriologist(m): 8:06pm On Oct 10, 2019
There's a deliberate attempt by the government in all corners of Nigeria to impoverish the citizens. Poverty has been weaponised in our country. That is why a governor would rather donate to a church, perform a thanksgiving there than actually invest in state economy or infrastructure. A good example is Sanwo-Olu, jumping from one church to another on Sundays in the name of "thanksgiving" with absolutely nothing to show for it.

Keep the population ignorant. Keep them poor. Then let them have religion as the only source of "enjoyment." And they will keep praying for a standard life while you continue to siphon the commonwealth.

Note how the most 'happiest' countries have virtually non-existent religious presence/population.

Are you sure you quoted the right person?

First of all, I am currently not in Nigeria and for you to keep mentioning paymasters speaks volume coz you thought everyone online is a broke guy.

Secondly, I just told the other guy I replied that while you can blame Sanwo-Olu for the bad roads, we should give governors benefit of the doubt because they are not robot. How can you expect a governor to fix all Lagos roads in just 7-8 month in power?
We have several hundreds of bad roads in Lagos, some of them need palliative care by just fixing potholes, some need total reconstruction, and etc.

Sanwo Olu set up some of the LSPWC to fix those roads that need palliative coz Lagosians are complaining and its not possible to fix all road at once. Even if you are gonna fix the several hundred road once, will they all be completed in 8 months?

In New Jersey here, to construct a new 4-lane highway it cost $4 million per mile, But all we have ever do is to compare ourselves to developed countries not knowing that Naija is totally broke and we are just celebrating mediocrity.

Our problem is the rubbish fixation that we are extremely rich, and that is why we believe the ridiculous promises from politicians like the fake change campaign APC used in 2015.

My argument is that this man (Sanwo Olu) created some people to fix these things, I know they might be slow but its not that good to condemn a governor totally for the period of just 7month in power.
It was painfully obvious that you were speaking from a position of outright ignorance. I just didn't think you were resident in a saner clime and was out of the state.

It is easy to defend Nigerian leaders from diaspora and you are not an exception. That said, if you are a leader and your delegates for a project have failed to do the needful, are you supposed to make silly excuses like "the weather is responsible" or "I'm just a few months in" or get a different set of competent hands on the job? I'm hoping you will choose the latter.

How many 4 lane 'highways' are in Lagos? I am sure I can count them on my fingers. And yes, the finances of Lagos state are ADEQUATE enough to cover the costs of rehabilitating these roads. The illegal taxation of NURTW in 6months could in fact do the job.

And lastly the problem is not that the roads aren't being repaired FAST enough, the problem is that they are not being REPAIRED at all. Did you get that? The roads are getting worse on a hourly basis and there is no solution in sight to end this madness. Jesus Christ! Get a grip and stop defending the indefensible.

And to add to your statement...people don't realize that the more cars and trucks are stationary on an already bad and congested road the more the air people breath in that city is heavily polluted from dirty carbon monoxide and fumes coming from bad engines.
Tell me about it, Beautyaddy. Indeed the two most important infrastructure for any society that wants to move forward is good roads and electricity. These two things are INSTANT transformers of the quality of life of their IMMEDIATE environment. ANYWHERE.

1. Good roads.
2. Stable power.

These two keep production costs on a low and the ripple effects of this simple phenomenon is in the hundreds.

Even a poor country with these two amenities will have the demographics and stats of a first world nation. Sadly, common sense is not common.

The irony. Saying that roads cannot be repaired because of "rains" is your own definition of critical assessment? So... countries where their roads are constantly rehabilitated and fixed do not have rains falling in them at all?

Even if any quick fix will be done, is filling large pot holes with gravel stones the way to go? Talking about a state with heavy IGR and daily illegal taxation by the transport union in Lagos??

Does it not occur to you that good roads is part of what makes the economy better for us all? Good roads make possible less transport time and zero costs of repairing damaged motor parts which usually drives up sales prices. Less hours wasted in traffic means more hours go into productivity. Accidents are effectively reduced, increasing the ease of business and general quality of life for everybody.

Even if you own a helicopter, good roads is what any one who wants progress should clamour for.
