Christianity EtcRe: This Is Why I Cannot Just Keep My Atheism To Myself by Bacteriologist(op): 4:51pm On Dec 21, 2022
You've spoken or typed correctly Sir!
I am talking about "my God" so the rules are JUST for those who revere HIM not those who feels no need of a God. So you're EXCLUDED Sir,such guidance has nothing as in NOTHING to do with you Sir! wink wink wink
A large percentage of Christians don't actually believe this but ok.
Christianity EtcRe: Why Islam Is The Fastest Growing Religion - Picture by Bacteriologist(m): 4:37pm On Dec 21, 2022
Haha accurate.

I'm sure there are many Muslims who have left the religion but can't come out because of the fear of death.

Islam is really only where Christianity was a few years ago. It's a matter of time.
Christianity EtcRe: Why Atheists Attack Only Christianity. by Bacteriologist(m): 7:28pm On Dec 13, 2022
peterincredible:
For me I will say that most Christians are very aggressive when they see people who are atheist or people or generally people like me who don't see reason of staying with just one religion or prefer to explore several religion and spirituality but the thing is Christians do theirs in a passive aggressive way

Where I work I let my colleagues know that I am not a Christian even if I read the Bible my brother I tell you that before I know what is going on they tag me an atheist, some times when they see me the ask me some questions so that they can argue with me but I will just ignore some times they will come and begins to invite me to their church and tell me that Jesus is the only way and me at the other end will just weep in my mind because all I see are people who are ignorant of the universe and are scared to explore and learn
Yeah I think it's because usually for people in religion it's hard to see people who don't believe in the same way they do as normal, and they come off as aggressive more often than not.

For example when I was a Christian I found it wild that anyone could be an atheist. I knew Muslims, but that someone could not believe in the Almighty god.. I just couldn't wrap my head around it. Look at me today.. lol.

Also, when such religious person now sees someone trying to discredit their beliefs using strong arguments, cognitive dissonance sets in and its either insults or they tell you you're going to hell.

Religion dulls the mind. It takes someone who is strong to take a step back and want to actually examine their beliefs.
Christianity EtcRe: Why Atheists Attack Only Christianity. by Bacteriologist(m): 4:58pm On Dec 12, 2022
Usually, people tend to criticise what they have good knowledge about.

I am an ex-christian so it will be easier to poke holes in Christianity. In more Islamic societies you will find atheists who are more happy to criticise Islam as well.

No religion is above criticism even though they go to different lengths to stop people from criticising.

Imagine yourself performing some magic spell and turning into an ant so that you can impregnate the queen ant.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rENyyRwxpHo

Why would a “God” who created the structures in that video care enough about some random species on our planet to chose some random Jewish lass for divine impregnation? All for a god damn human sacrifice. The Abrahamic God is capable of nuclear fusion, gravity, photons, etc but yet prefers to f#ck (the spirit of the lord overshadowed.....) 15 year old girls in order to rectify simple mistakes in his design. Sounds dumber than fucking the ant. Yet, this is the core belief of the insanity called Christianity.
Yeah so recently I watched some of the sizes of other planetary bodies compared to earth and I discovered that we are really insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

300 earths can fit inside Jupiter. And more than 900 Jupiters can fit inside the Sun. More than a 1, 000,000,000 sun's can also fit inside UY Scuti. That's absolutely bonkers.

That God wants to have a private relationship with us is not only arrogant, it is ignorantly narcissistic and self absorbed.

Christianity EtcRe: How I Realized Jesus Is A Fraud by Bacteriologist(m): 7:56pm On Jun 22, 2022
I don't like to argue about the authenticity of Jesus figure because I think it is inconsequential. And many authentic sources have different viewpoints so is a toughy contested point that is in fact, irrelevant.

Jesus existed, no shït sherlock, so what?

A man named Jesus at that time could very well have existed.

That doesn't mean he did any of the supernatural things the Buybull claims he did. Those are the things that would need to be proved.

How did he turn water to wine? Resurrexr a 4 days old corpse, ascend to heaven?

How was the encounter with Moses and Elijah recorded when the same passage says no one was there with them?

Jesus PROBABLY physically existed. But the supernatural stuff is where you would need some serious evidence. Because extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

How can anyone possibly explain these clearly asinine claims?

99% of apc and PDP governors have bribery, corruption, and embezzlement charges filed against them. But the worst tinubu and Atiku supporters could do is to bring up an underperfroming investment from Obi.

The bar is so high lmao.

Christianity EtcIs Juju A Scam? N1M Challenge On Twitter. by Bacteriologist(op): 12:31pm On Feb 10, 2022
A man on twitter, has taken a deeply controversial stance by challenging a belief that holds firm in most Nigerian hearts: the authenticity of juju.

He claims that juju is not real, or at least that it's not supernatural, but a mixture of natural tricks that majority of people cannot easily understand. There has even been a cash prize to that effect, a N1m reward for who can prove that juju actually works.

He's received a lot of negative comments and even death threats from many people, but his resolve is firm. He's even started attending Television shows to debate priests and other believers in voodoo magic.

Movements like these are probably stupid or maybe even crucial in a highly superstitious environment like Nigeria's.

What are your thoughts?

I don't know. I haven't left religion and I still think logically and critically.

I don't follow blindly. I read the Bible for myself.
If you think critically and logically like you claimed, do you really believe that

1. Donkeys and Snakes can talk?

2. 7 billion people can arise from a Adam and Eve and their two sons?

3. Carnivores and Herbivores coexisted in the same boat for years?

I could go on..if you're a critical thinker how have you examined the anonymous authors of the Bible and the fact that the book was written many years after the said events occurred?

Can you share how have you been a le to reconcile this with your "logical thinking?"
Christianity EtcRe: As A Christian, Do You Think "Too Much Knowledge Is Evil?" by Bacteriologist(op): 9:52am On Jan 28, 2022
efficiencie:
Knowledge for the service of the LORD GOD is beautiful but knowledge for the purpose of just being knowledgeable could easily lead to an obsession and from thence to the idolization of knowledge.
Coming after you just said too much knowledge isn't bad?

So the only knowledge that agrees with the belief you hold is the only knowledge that is important and the one we should pursue? Yea lol..it's called confirmation bias.

efficiencie:
First it was wear a mask, next it was social distancing, next it was lockdowns, next it was get the first jab, followed by another jab, followed by another booster jab and yet COVID cases are skyrocketing in societies with high vaccination rates...these worshippers of knowledge find it hard admitting that all they know is failing them and that they need help beyond what they think they know.
And these are the types of comments you make when all you study is what already agrees with you.

Science is always learning and acquiring new knowledge. The more we know, the better we can refine our old methods of thinking and our previous models. That's why Science will and constantly change.

You need more knowledge in other things.

TheRealOwner:

Wow I can relate to this soo much. I grew up believing the Bible Word for Word, letter for letter. The stories of the OT really fascinated me and I could not imagine any other thing being true.

However I grew older, became more knowledgeable about Science, Fossils, Carbon Dating, medical innovation and the outer space & other planets.

I became more religiously involved in my late teens and early 20s. Started actively preaching and ministering to people, as that was the way to 'please God'.

My quest for knowledge and 'finding the right answers' led me to discover so many things like mistranslated Bible verses, the Apocrypha, differences in doctrine & denominations, Bible verses that weren't original but added later, etc

It was a really turbulent time and I eventually came to some realizations about God and the world

I won't elaborate further, but let's just say I don't care about religious activities anymore and I have shifted my interests, time, resources and energy into information and things that will give me the kind of life I really want for myself
This is interesting! Thank you for sharing. Knowledge really sets one free.

Continue learning and keep an open mind! Go where the evidence and knowledge leads!

jesusjnr2020:
So the problem is not having "too much" knowledge, whatever that is, but making knowledge to take the place of God in one's life and become one's god.

.
That is dogma.

The purpose of knowledge is to inform our opinions, beliefs and actions.

Acquiring knowledge with the goal of strengthening belief in a particular god out of around 4,000. Is self-limiting and often leads to contradicrions and cognitive problems.
Christianity EtcRe: Why Are Non-believers Averagely More Intelligent Than Believers? by Bacteriologist(m): 9:22am On Jan 28, 2022
I don't think being an atheist or theist makes you "more" or less intelligent per se.

I think the intelligence is always there. But in the absence of superstition and other thinking processes that rely on mythology and other ineffective systems, you are able to make use of the tools that have proven to work.

After i left religion, I now understand the value of logic and critical thinking. Which I would have looked down upon if I wasotherwise still very religious.

It's not about a spike in your IQ because you stopped believing. It's about a more frequent use of effective thinking processes and methods.
CelebritiesRe: Sammie Okposo: Cheating Is Bad At His Level & What He Stands For - Ubi Franklin by Bacteriologist(m):
Religion is hypocrisy.

Don't think that this isn't a common occurrence in many Christian churches. We are only talking about this because Sammy had the courage to be vulnerable and come out publicly.

A lot of choir masters, deacons and other high members of the church use their positions to commit untold atrocities against other members.

It's truly a shit show, what Christianity turns people to, both in Nigeria and all over the world.

They dress luxuriously to church every Sunday, raising holy hands to God in prayer, and contribute great money in a bid to appease a non-existent God but in reality they are liars who don't ever practice what they preach. Their dark minds are full of strife, hypocrisy and many other sorts of evil.

I wonder what heaven is supposed to be like if it will be filled with people who are quite simply pretenders.
