The former Commissioner of information and Special Adviser to Governor Ben Ayade on Biodiversity, Mr. Edet Okon Asim, is currently cooling his heels in police custody for continuously defiling an underaged girl for about three years in Calabar. Vanguard learned that the girl who was about 12 when the defilement started was “forced” into aborting twice for Mr. Asim with consent of her mother and this has led to a puncture of her uterus while carrying out a third abortion .
Findings by Vanguard show that the girl’s mother one Mrs. Stella is also a mistress to the former Commissioner of Information ,Mr. Asim and had approved the unholy relationship between her daughter and her lover (Mr. Asim).
A source who pleaded anonymity said that Mrs. Stella was married to a popular Calabar based pastor who was a good friend of Asim and bore two children for the deceased man of God.
“Since the death of the pastor, Mr. Asim has been “helping” the family and is their benefactor for years now. Immediately the girl started maturing, he took interest and started sleeping with both of them (daughter and mother)
Vanguard also learned that the victim, who is a student of the Federal Government Girls College, Calabar was reportedly cautioned by her mother not to divulge any information while collaborating with the randy ex -mayor.

Speaking with Vanguard, Principal Counsel, Basic Rights Council Initiative, BCRI and Child’s Right Activist, James Ibor said the third abortion for the former commissioner of information, Mr. Edet Okon Asim was poorly carried out and by a quack too.

“We had to investigate and informed the police that led to the arrest of Mr. Asim and Ms. Stella and we have received several calls from various powerful people to step down the matter but the crime is against humanity, the girl needs to be protected.
When contacted, Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Irene Ugbo, confirmed the incident adding that it was really unfortunate.
“We are on top of the matter and we what to get all the facts of the case so to charge the matter to court, we are leaving no stone unturned because the law must take its cause. It doesn't matter the figure or whose ox is gored justice must be served, the law must prevail,” she said.

According to the 22-year-old Nigerian identified as Ejiblinks from Owerri, Imo state, his older lover dumped him after five months of dating because her family won't approve due to his nationality and age.

My girlfriend visited few days ago and she planned on staying for the rest of the week. Unfortunately last night a very good friend(male) of mine visited and spent the night with us. This morning I woke up very early and left for work. I dropped money for food so she and my guy who said he will be leaving later in the day can eat.
And few mins ago my girlfriend called me crying, telling me that my friend is beating her up. I have to suspend whatever I'm doing and rushed home. On getting home the whole place was scattered both kitchen, Sitting room and bedroom. When I asked what the problem was my girlfriend told me in an emotional voice that she just finished cooking and went to the bathroom only to come out to see that my guy has already dished out food and was eating.
When she tried to question him on why he couldn't wait for her to come out and give him food . He rebuked her and they started exchanging words which later led to a fight or should I say beating.
They both agreed that that was exactly what happened and my girlfriends face and body is full of bruises now
To make matters worse my girlfriend has already contacted her father who is a DPO and he called and directed that I should get the guy arrested before he gets here tomorrow morning.
Issame: A man was, yesterday, rearrested for theft, shortly after being granted bail for a similar offense.
The drama played out at police station in Itori, Ogun State. The suspect, identified as Taiwo, stole the DPO’s phone after securing bail around 5:30pm.
He was, however, caught and detained again. He was charged to court, today, for theft.

The Nigerian Army (NA) has noted with dismay, the rantings of one Timi Frank on Daily Post online publication of 4 December 2018, where he alleged that the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo and the COAS Lt Gen TY Buratai were responsible for Deji Adeyanju’s re-arrest by the Nigerian Police Force(NPF). This is obviously one of the series of smear campaigns that have been directed at the NA and particularly the person of the COAS by misinformed and ill meaning Nigerians.
2. An audacious fib of this magnitude must have either been borne out of willful intent to forment trouble or of a malicious intent to malign the person of the COAS. Otherwise, any reasonably informed Nigerian need not dig too deep to ascertain the true reasons for Deji Adeyanju’s arrest by the NPF. Besides, the NPF has the rights and powers to take up such responsibilities of fighting cyber related offences and issues relating to inciting disturburances in the country.
3. Having noted the foregoing, it would suffice to add that the NA is not ignorant of all the recent false information concerning NA Operations been peddled by @adeyanjudeji on twitter as well as abusive and libelous outbursts of the same handle on the person of the COAS. To this end, the NA is already in consultation with its advocates for appropriate legal actions to be taken in accordance to the rule of law.
4. Furthermore, the NA wishes to dissociate itself from the current self-induced predicament of Deji Adeyanju in the hands of the NPF, which is being sensationalized by his promoters. Such sponsors of Deji Adeyanju are advised to keep the NA and its leadership out of their self-seeking, cheap popularity on social media.
5. Finally, the NA wishes to once again utilize this opportunity to appreciate the goodwill and support of well-meaning Nigerians. The NA will continue to remain dedicated in carrying out its constitutional roles, despite any form of smear campaign by detractors. You are to please note and disseminate same through your various media channels."

iGist: A Prophet identified as Vincent Adewunmi, has been arraigned before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos for allegedly defrauding one Apostle Austin Okeke of N6.35 million.
The prophet who was accused of fraudulently obtaining the money from the complainant with a promise to secure an Australian visa for about 12 members of his Church, committed the offence between the month of May and August 2018 at Ori-Okuta, Owutu in Ikorodu.
Police Prosecutor Sgt. John Iberedem, told the court that the offence contravened the provisions of section 411 and 314 of criminal laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015. NAN reported that the suspect who pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him, was granted bail of two million Naira with two sureties in like sum. The case was adjourned till Dec. 20 for mention.
