Having lost at the Court of Appeal, I am afraid, so afraid, Fubara the governor of Rivers State is gone. It's not rocket science. He is gone for good. He most likely would not survive this. He would most likely get impeachment proceedings served on him. I tell you, the Supreme Court is going to throw this case for many reasons. I'd mention two: 1. Who declares a seat vacant - Is it you Mr. Governor, or a competent court of law? If it is not you, Mr. Gov., then until the latter has done so, it is not fitting for you to act in that capacity. The National Assembly is supposed to take legislative duties of Rivers state before the budget would be passed since five people cannot be said to form a quorum. 2. When the defected lawmakers changed party, what proof is there from the new party's register that they actually did. Just because Mr. A said he's moved from A to B or from B to C doesn't make it pass the muster of legality. The law doesn't see these lawmakers as defectors because they said so, until their new parties can prove it. Fubara is in a deep mess. How would he escape? |
![]() The most painful part of this story is the fact that (despite spending billions on this project) only a handful, a very tiny remnant actually get hired to work for them. If you go there looking for work as a hustler that you are, they would tell you that the men in charge have not given a go-ahead to hire. If you are privileged to work for them, they would deduct a sizable chunk of your earnings for late-coming. It is what it is. Nigeria. I fucking hate this country. ![]() |
highbee02:I wish I can practice what I preach. ![]() Where do you live? |
highbee02:How did you get a teaching appointment with Kwara state government? I went there some times back and the teaching board said their hands are tied. |
givedemwotowoto:i agree. This is all Tinubu's fault. |
jchioma:A nonpartisan police force should have challenged the court judgment on the basis of their constitutional duties as a security agency. The Police have a duty to maintain law and order, provide security especially during elections, etc, and no court of law has any rights to enforce a non sequitur on them. I agree! |
Everyday247:Lol. Okay. |
Everyday247:I no fit drive. Fuel sef don cost now. The Keke riders are really groaning. You get keke on hire purchase? Where do you reside? |
Sonofgod1990:Lol. Okay, please do. |
Sonofgod1990:Hmm. Okay. It seems necessary for me then to give you an advice since you are an adult. Always help men. Help men regardless of what they exhibit from time to time. Always help them. It could have been a woman who left you at that critical point of need. It could have been anyone. It could have been your mother, your sisters, or your female siblings - who abandoned you and then left you out in the cold to die and rot. It could have been anyone. Sainthood, being empathetic, showing care, respect, and love are not gender-based attributes. Man is not a monolith. Our character isn't, either. Always help men, never fail to do so, bro. Let me talk about helping women since that is what you think is right. See, when you help men, you implicitly help women. A woman looks to men or a fatherly figure for help, but who does a man look up to? If you had helped that man with the 5k, he would have probably helped his wife or his daughters. it doesn't matter. I don't know him from anywhere and we are not in connivance. Always help men bro, never fail to. Besides, we are all men. No exceptions. All of us. Some of us have wombs, we call them women, and some of us don't, but it doesn't change anything. The women you are talking about are actually... MEN! God himself is a spirit... M*N. If the most excellent, the most beautiful, the most perfect, the most clean, the most powerful, the most loving, honest, faithful, principal and essential of all beings is a man, an excellent man, a powerful man, an eternal man, an omniscient man, then surely you ought to help your fellow man. God will help you to see women beyond her boobs and vagina, and see her as a man. The one from whom other beings have their being is a spirit M*N, then surely, oh surely you ought to help your fellow man. Always help men regardless of their gender, bro. Regardless of what laxity they might display in the past. Regardless of how lazy they have become. You need men more than you need woMEN. God will give you wisdom to see the truth of what I am saying. |
Sonofgod1990:How old are you? Sorry to ask. |
Sonofgod1990:So let me get you right: you only help women, not a fellow man like yourself? |
Sonofgod1990:Are you fucking serious? |
SPF247:Una dey chop back to back oo. |
AntiChristian:Look at this verse, Mathew 5 verse17: “Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose." What does Christ mean by "accomplishing their purpose" as he said here? Or, let me ask you a different question, how does Christ intend to accomplish the law as given to Moses on Mount Sinai? Or to fulfill the requirements of the law as some other translations put it. If God give you his life-giving laws and by his special providence, you met a weirdo on the streets who said - Don't worry AntiChristian, I can actually help you in fulfilling these laws, what would you think he meant? Like you, I would be like, can another human like me actually help in fulfilling (becoming a solution) to the laws God gave me? Let me flip the switch, if your teacher gave you assignment to be submitted on a Monday morning and by some special miracle, a weirdo on the street helped you in solving and fulfilling the requirements in the assignment, would it mean you are still bound by the requirements of the assignment and thus, you have to keep attempting the assignment? I have other passages but we must take it one at a time. Answer these questions first. |
Indigbo:I remember giving you an advice (or is it spelled advise sef) a while back on your selections. This is just so fucking mad. Man, man! If it's the 300k to return 900k ticket, then you must push something for men. .As one of the members of Nairaland council of punters' advisers, I have been so unlucky in my own journey, though, lol. |
Indigbo:How much was your stake? |
AntiChristian:There are many passages in the gospel account where it is reported that Christ said he is the accomplishment/fulfillment of the law. This essentially means what Paul said. I don't know how you can make wild claims while being ignorant of all Christ is reported to have said. |
dauntless15:Man's biggest problem, or one of his biggest devil, is that he is in capable of sound thoughts. People do not think a right most times. They just do what seems convenient for them at the moment and then later, they think. I hope he pays through the sweat of his brows so that in his next life, he would learn not to shortchange people who need his services. |
AntiChristian:Are you sure Christ didn't say he's the end of the law? ![]() |
Odin13:I am wondering too, but there is more to it. Man is chiefly selfish and does what benefits him foremost. The defection of his party chairmen should be a big positive to the PDP who now have RIvers in their grasp. Some days ago some pro-Wike protesters were seen protesting against the election holding, but I honestly do not know why they are aagainst it since the "Judases" have distanced themselves. |
Odin13:His insistence on the election not holding seems like a man who has gone nuts, but it is important to know why. If party APP says X is their preferred candidate for ward M and the PDP say Y is their preferred candidate for the same ward, then what is the fuss about. If anything, the PDP stands a better chance because they are well-known and have the structure already. |
rebdisir:Take the grassroots structure, as in how? You vote whom you want and I want whom I want. I don't exactly get it. Is the structure a matter of party or a candidate? If either party want to rig the election, then they can certainly do it irrespective of the party, so what is the fuss. The electorate would vote the APP or PDP candidate as the case may be, so what is this all about? |
I am not privy to the facts, so I am not taking sides. I am just asking questions. What I know is that the Supreme court ruled on Local government autonomy which made it mandatory for local government chairmen to be democratically elected. Some states like mine have done theirs, but others like Rivers haven't. The Rivers state governors directed his caretaker chairmen to be enfranchised under APP. That is all I know. I don't see the problem here. All the parties are on the ballot, so why is Wike adamant that elections must not hold? |
KingAzubuike:You are quite funny. You talk as if there are passage after passage of alterations that makes the text (note, I didn't say, the two text) distinct. First off, it depends on the Bible translation. My translation adds a footnote that says "Or young woman." It seems to me that the Hebrew word used here could also mean a virgin - otherwise the Apostle Mathew would not make reference to that passage of the Old Testament calling her a virgin. There are many Hebrew words that have multiple meanings in the bible. Even English language have words with multiple meanings: when we say bank, could it be a financial institution or a riverbank or a.... and since the context revolves around a miraculous sign for the king, Ahaz, it would be a batshit something to call the Christian text an alteration. Do you have any idea the number of text in scriptures that is interpreted differently where not a single religious creed, christian doctrines, or beliefs can be attached to the said passage whatsoever? |
KingAzubuike:Both Christianity and Judaism focus on what we do, not on what we believe alone. As the Apostle James puts it: Faith (belief) without works is dead. Judaism and Christianity use the Tanakh. The Jewish Tanakh (Note, I said the Jewish Tanakh) have some extra appendages that are purely cultural in scope. Now you said, the Christian Tanakh was altered to support Christian teaching. How? Where? In which specific instance? Please, stop peddling falsehood. |
Softmirror:Can you prove that the Israelis of modern times as we see them today are nowhere close - racially, ethnically - to the Israelis of biblical/ancient times? Prove it to me that the Israelis (as they are today in Israel) are no descendants of Jacob, the patriarch. |
Reggaero:Your own sef better. My own plenty. I am just too paranoid. Chai! Barcelona don score again. Chai |
I know dey ever win bet. EVER! Chai. |
Indigbo:Seriously, you're good to go. In your selection, the only team I would be weary of is Arsenal. Chelsea should whip Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge. The team plays with too much extra energy and Man City always show their class, lol. |
