Let's understand it from here, may be it will give you a clearer picture of what Jesus meant by God's kingdom, then you can relate it to the issue of John the Baptist
who said so?
Actually, Jesus parables about the kingdom were not spoken literally, but the interpretation of these parables shows that the kingdom itself is literal and can be clearly understood what it was.
The kingdom itself is people(believers of Christ), and nothing more

Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

You can actually impersonify the kingdom of God.
You can say I'm the kingdom of God.
The kingdom of God is not anything more than you and i that is on this earth
that is just it and nothing more.

This also implies that the kingdom is simply abstract, we cannot get anything from it but eternal life
that God's spirit of the old, is a total different spirit entirely but not the holy spirit that came with Christ.
Otherwise he wouldn't have promise them a conforter and they will just maintain the old spirit which was never a quickening spirit, hence enternal life will be of no effect.

So, you can relate it now to John's situation.

Was John the Baptist part of those who who received the conforter in the book of Act?
The answer is no

Therefore he never stood the chance of being in God's kingdom.
So many prophets of the old too had wished to be privileged like us who have it.
Hence, the least person in God's kingdom(you and I) is greater than John and all the prophets of the old.

He wasn't talking about angels

As for that StillDtruth mumu

He nor understand anything at all, he is just floating
You are saying many conflicting things and it seems your ideas are conjured up. When Christ came to earth, one of his missions was to get as many people into the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God is an actual kingdom and must be understood as such. The kingdom itself is not people - believers of Christ, as you call it. It is an actual kingdom. Jesus talks of his Father's house having many mansion and all that. You cannot float another idea of the kingdom of God for whatever reasons. When Jesus said for of such is the Kingdom of God, he did not mean that the children in question are the kingdom of God.

In the Gospel accounts, Jesus had a very favourable opinion of little children. Another account give a more vivid description of what happened and adds that he that would not take the Kingdom of God like a little child would never enter it. I think it's the Gospel of Luke. In another incident, he told his disciples not to look down on little children because their angels are always in the presence of his heavenly Father. If you look at the life of little children, their innocence, their meekness, and all that, you would understand why Jesus' opinion of kids is high.

That said, how you can personify an actual kingdom; how you can say I'm the kingdom of God of God is what I don't understand.

God says in the prophecy of Joel that in the last days, he would pour out his Spirit upon all flesh and there would be signs. The main difference is that it was not poured out on all flesh in the past. God's spirit of old is a totally different spirit but not the Holy spirit of now? What an entirely crass and moronic thing to say? What? Are you for real? The Holy Spirit that fell on the day of Pentecost was poured out at different time in history on different people even King David acknowledged that he had the Holy Spirit and he said in his penitential Psalms after murdering Uriah: remember, he was anointed by Samuel.

Let me start from Verse 8:
Oh, give me back my joy again;
you have broken me—
now let me rejoice.
9Don’t keep looking at my sins.
Remove the stain of my guilt.
10Create in me a clean heart, O God.
Renew a loyal spirit within me.
11Do not banish me from your presence,
and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me.

Even King Saul had the Holy Spirit until God was displeased with him and an evil Spirit from God tormented him.

John didn't stand the chance of being in God's Kingdom and he disbelieved? Wow, your own faith is strong oo. grin grin grin grin grin grin

And leave the only Bible book that has given a comprehensive summary of the Son and the angels (I'm aware that the angels were called sons of God too but that's not the type of sonship I believe we are looking at here or...?)

Hebrews 1:1-14 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

Hath in these last days spoken unto us BY HIS SON, WHOM HE HATH APPOINTED HEIR OF ALL THINGS , by whom also he made the worlds;

WHO BEING THE BRIGHTNESS OF HIS GLORY, and THE EXPRESS IMAGE OF HIS PERSON , and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

BEING MADE SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE ANGELS , AS HE HATH BY INHERITANCE OBTAINED A MORE EXCELLENT NAME THAN THEY.

FOR UNTO WHICH OF THE ANGELS SAID HE AT ANY TIME, THOU ART MY SON , THIS DAY HAVE I BEGOTTEN THEE? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
I have refrained from quoting the entire Hebrew passage you quoted. The origins of Jesus Christ is from the distinct past as I showed you from Daniel. Daniel saw Jesus. Even Daniel could not describe him, that is why he called him a son of man. And that is what the author of Hebrews is trying to tell the readers. I don't see how Jesus being greater than the angels means we are also greater than them. Jesus is from the everlasting past. Are we too? Jesus Has been in Heaven even before Daniel had this vision. Have we been in Heaven too? NO. But that is basically your argument.

You have to understand that Jesus is a resident of Heaven, one of Heaven's dwellers by the time Daniel sees his vision and way long before then. Like John puts it; In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God.

I am comparing Heaven dwellers and earth dwellers, not Heaven dwellers and Heaven dwellers or earth-bound Heaven dwellers and Heaven dwellers. You need to understand the difference.

I still stand by my stance. By virtue of many metrics, the least of Heaven dwellers cannot be compared with the most righteous man that has ever lived or will ever live.

Angels have been blameless in all their ways, running errands for God for aeons, upholding the divine laws and government, agreeable to the divine will. Holding court with His Majesty. This is not a trite matter. A creature of yesterday wants to also collect candy when his ogas have not collected. Oya collect na.

TimiRume:
Thanks for your kind reply. 🙂

My intention was not to undermine the office or roles of angels. Angels have been with God for aeons and are mirrors of his majesty and splendor. Angels are God's creatures, if not his first but I do wonder why man and not angels was made in God's image and likeness. Isn't this saying something about God that even angels are still prying into? Why would God make another creature like him, ain't the angels like him already?
Sorry yesterday I could not continue from where I stopped because of power outage.

You are making inferences from silence but that is untrue. Just because we’re not told a lot about angels at least in respect to their creation and nature doesn't mean we use the not argument. Some Angels were made in the image of God and this is quite evident when they run errands for God on earth. Most of the times earth dwellers do not easily identify some as angels except they carry out some interventionist acts. I would give you two examples.

1. When the angel of the Lord visited Manoah's wife the second time and she ran to tell her husband. Manoah approached the angel and asked questions. It wasn't until he placed the offering on the rock and the angel ascended in the fire that he realized that he was talking to an angel. In fact, the bible said Manoah didn't realize the man in question is an angel.

2. When Joshua sighted God's commander in the distance. As a warrior that he is, he asked the angel if he was for them or against them. This clearly does not look like an angel in his glory and that is why I laugh at all these UFO experts because when God sends messengers they look exactly human. Or what about the angels that insisted on sleeping in the public square in the days of lot.

My argument is that, if they are able to take human form on earth, they must have been made in God's image. If you still don't agree, I would point you to one book: the book of Ezekiel.

In Ezekiel 1 : 10; 10: 8. We read of the Cherubim, another class of angelic beings: Each had a human face in the front, the face of a lion on the right side, the face of an ox on the left side, and the face of an eagle at the back.... and what looked like human hands under their wings.

When you think of a creature having human face, you must think of a creature made in God's image. These beings have multiple images in them. You are not the only one made in God's image.

TimiRume:
Is Christ greater than the angels of God? Is he of a higher rank?
Christ has been made higher than the angels because of an errand he ran successfully more than 2000 years ago. In Daniel's prophecy, he sees a vision of Christ, but how he described him is not clear: son of man.

Daniel 7: 13: As my vision continued that night, I saw someone like a son of man coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient One and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, honor, and sovereignty over all the nations of the world, so that people of every race and nation and language would obey him. His rule is eternal—it will never end. His kingdom will never be destroyed.

And leave the only Bible book that has given a comprehensive summary of the Son and the angels (I'm aware that the angels were called sons of God too but that's not the type of sonship I believe we are looking at here or...?)
StillDtruth:
You have already mixed up everything.

First of,.Christ made that statement in Mathew 11:11 because of people like you.
Because of people like me who thinks he is righteous? You must be joking right because in actuality, I affirmed Christ statement and re-echoed Christ stance that the least of Heaven dwellers are greater and would always be greater than the best and finest of men based on that verse, so please, kindly explain why you think Christ made the statement because of me.

StillDtruth:
Secondly, when God judges, is it not man with man? How then do you judge man with angels?
I am not comparing man with angels. It betrays comparison. What metrics do we use? Righteousness, strength, service to God, what? Regardless of what we choose to use, men would have to lie low and hide his face. I am saying, angels have been in service to God for millions, perhaps trillions of years, or even perhaps for way longer than that. They have been found blameless in all their ways in that duration and have run errands for God successfully and faithfully. God is also faithful. Part of the divine government is his faithfulness. Man that is born yesterday, that is of few years, whose service to God is deficient and defective can never ever come close.

StillDtruth:
Thirdly, no man is going to heaven, it is heaven and earth 2.0 those qualified are going to.
Wherever God chooses to take the redeemed is not the problem, but it is important to know that you are not the only creature God created. You are not the most important and neither are you the most righteous or even the greatest.

what Jesus meant by the least person in God's kingdom is greater than John the Baptist is that, the least person who is a believer is greater than John the Baptist who didn't believe until he was eventually killed.
Thanks for checking in.

Please, understand and let me quote another translation to ease your understanding

Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

Question: Who are them that are born of women? Humans. The human race. You cannot have it said more clearer. If you read the verse that precedes verse 11, Jesus was praising John, asking the people what kind of man they went into the wilderness to see.

Question: Who is he that is least in the kingdom of heaven? Since the hierarchy and order of divine beings is not known to me or to any of us, we would not speculate. It could after all be one of the 24 elders, an angel, or another of Heaven's inhabitants, but it can never be a human. The comparison and contrast is quite clear. He is comparing the most righteous human and Heaven dwellers.

paxonel:
It was never a thing of angels comparing with man.
I never said it was a comparison of angels with men. It was a comparison of the entire human race and the least of Heaven's dwellers. God calls himself the Lord of Host or the Lord of Heavens armies for a reason. There are more beings than we are aware of in Heaven. Some of higher rank and some, not so high. The cherubs, the seraphs, the commanders of Heavens armies, angels, angels of his presence, the 24 elders and many more. The comparison is between the least ranked, least righteous of these Heaven dwellers and the best, the finest of earth's inhabitant that has ever lived. That verse is very clear.

paxonel:
The kingdom of heaven is within us, that is what you have not understood
Wow, nice perspective, but God's kingdom in us is not a literally kingdom. It is the Holy Spirit. God's spirit in us, but even in old times, the prophets, anointed kings, and righteous men had God's spirit and that was long before Jesus came.

It is important that to mention that the two oldest books in the bible talks of angels being sons of God. First Job. I am not going to use my translation because it doesn't do justice to this.

Job 1 : 6: Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them.

Who are these sons of God? it has to be angels as other translations put it, and the KJV makes a word for word rendition of the Hebrew bible which is just perfect.

Again, when challenging Job about his justice and giving us a glimpse of what happened when he created the earth.

Job 38 : 4 - 7 :

4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.

5 Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?

6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;

7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Question: Who are the morning stars and who are the sons of God?

Answer: The morning stars are angels of higher ranks, presumably four-faced angels and the sons of God are the angels. Isn't this enough to prove that angels are actually the sons of God, but wait

TimiRume:
But through Christ Jesus, we are now made Sons of God. Is there any status higher than a Son's apart from the Father?
Your objections has been seen and noted. To answer you.

There is no status higher actually and you are right about that, but Angels are the real definition of Sons of God. Long before Jesus came, God frequently calls the Israelite his sons, so in a sense they are sons of God. Do you remember God's charge to Pharaoh - Israel is my first born son, allow him to go to the wilderness to worship me, or God's charge against Israel through Hosea - Israel is not my son and I am not his father. When you think of the phrase the sons of God, though, your mind must immediately go to the Angels and I would tell you why soon, just wait.

TimiRume:
We are children of God and hence heirs, heirs of God. Romans 8:17 God is our heritage. We are now in the process of inheriting God until our final redemption. Angels are not Sons of God. Angels can't inherit God. So how are they higher than us?
We are heirs of the kingdom of God, not necessarily God and that is because before Christ (or should I say John) came, entering the kingdom of God is an extremely herculean task, but it became easier with the coming of John and that is why Christ said, from the time of John, the Kingdom of God suffers violence and the violent take it by force, so in order words, we would soon become heirs of God and his kingdom but God's servant who stand before him are already reigning with him. Yes you heard that right, angels are already reigning with God.

Newsflash: The reign of God would not start soon. It started before time began. God has always been reigning and he reigns sovereign and sometimes holds court with holy ones in Heaven. Who would entice Ahab to fight against Ramoth Gilead so he can be killed?

God has always been the portion and heritage of his people, but angels are not in the process of inheriting God. They is no substantial barrier with angels except those to whom God decides to put away. They actually stand in God's presence and they are creatures, God's handiwork, just like you and me.

TimiRume:
And we would judge angels too? 1 Corinthians 6:3
For the first time, I wanted to say I don't agree with this verse, but having thought about the inspiration of all scriptures, I think these must be fallen angels who would be judged on the Day of Judgment. And even at that, would we really be judging them? Would we be judging bad humans too? I have reservations because judgment is solely God's prerogatives, not ours or what he co-delegates. I think you have to read that entire verse and the verse preceding it to be properly informed. Do you know that Our Lord Jesus half brother wrote against speaking ill of the Devil. Just say the Lord rebuke you.

TimiRume:
I may be wrong but I don't think angels are higher ranked than the least believer in Christ. I think they were higher than the first Adam as postulated in Hebrews 2:7, but the second Adam is Divine made flesh and has been given access to God in a way that no creature has or will ever be.
Yes, we are all airing our opinion. Both of us might be wrong sef, but you must never doubt the rank of the angels as been higher than ours. Way higher. Way, way higher. It is a subject of sober reflection that the redeemed have to join the queue when they get to Heaven because we would have to prove our mettle in substantial ways and form. I will quote you now.

So I was just thinking about divine government yesterday and I know that many Christians would disagree with me.

Don't just read and pass, let me read your disagreement perhaps I might have a change of thoughts towards this.

This line of thought is borne out of a saying of Jesus and an experience I have had in a workplace I am hustling to get by.

Let me talk about the workplace. So my workplace is a Construction site. Quite stressful. Very stressful I must admit. You are carrying acrows, peris, stretching them, mixing this and that, doing this and that from 8am to 5pm. And if you work with the carpenters or some others, you close by 5:30pm unless you are able to finish your housekeeping on time.

Here is the thing. By 7:40am, when toolbox meeting starts, you should be there. If you are not in the site by 7:50am, you would not work for that day because the officer in charge would have assigned duties to all the independent contractors there at the time. I get work twice, or three times a week and if I am super lucky, I get four times in a week, but there are some contractors who get work everyday. It doesn't matter if they worked yesterday or the day before. They would sha get work. Always. Even they know it.

One day after toolbox meeting and I didn't get work, I just jokingly told one - you na baba oo. Na everytime you dey get work. He told me that he was once like me that he would come over and go back home, but that was when the building was at the foundation level. Hmm. In my mind, I was like wow, you have been here for close to two years. We are currently at the seventh floor with four more floors to go. He added that I should move in with those contractors who sleep on site as they are also favoured. The site has rooms for contractors who wish to sleep on site. The very idea that the distribution of jobs might be laced with unfair advantage vanished coupled with the fact that the boss who distributes the job acts fairly. It was all fair and dandy to me.

But that is that and I would come back to this.

Jesus said in Matthew 11:11: I tell you the truth, of all who have ever lived, none is greater than John the Baptist. Yet even the least person in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he is!

This is mind boggling and screams of justice in the divine government. I will tell you why. Many humans have lived and died. So many. Many righteous people who have done the will of God have come and gone, but Jesus makes a startling statement. John is the greatest and most righteous human that has ever lived and yet if we compare his greatness and righteousness side by side with those in Heaven, he would come out the least. He would seem like nothing.

Rightly so. Human beings are not what they think they are. When you get to Heaven righteous reader, you would join the queue. You would not get special favours or relish than those already there. The angels have been in existence before man was created and they would continue to serve God when humans are no more. Righteous beings in Heaven have been serving God before you were born, before your first ancestor was born, before the first human was born, before the earth was created, before time began and they are still at it. Would John, the most righteous human that lived after John, or other very, very righteous man stand close in God's preference of beings. Creatures that barely served God. Some lived to be 80 years and some 120, but even the best of men are men at their best. Angels have been standing before God running errands for him for millions of years. They have received transferred holiness by virtue of being in the divine presence. If God wants to share candy in Heaven; this is how the distribution would go.

Cherub X, gets first.
then Cherub XY
then Seraph AB
Cherub C
Guarding Cherub CZ
Guarding Cherub HK
And on and on and on with the Cherubs

Then Micheal, Gabriel, angel X, Y, Z, ZX and on and on and on... All of Heaven's inhabitants would get first

Before we talk of humans. Now, we can be talking of John and some very, very righteous persons. The order and hierarchy of the angels is not known to me but the point is clear. God would give Heaven's armies first. They have been with God for ages and it is only right that they get first. They have served God for ages and it is only right that they get first. They are more righteous than humans and it is only right that they get first. You would have to join the queue.

Lol. Thank you.

Some questions are not geared towards seeking knowledge especially as he claims to know the bible more than the average Christians. Who killed Saul is different from how he later died. In warfare, any death counts to the victor; if we have a scribe on the victor's side or on any side who's job is to count the slain, would he make one less count because one warrior killed himself or because a warrior was killed by another warrior of the same side. No, of course not, and rightly so. The narrator of Samuel puts that in mind when he narrated what happened.

There is no contradictions whatsoever in the death of Saul. Saul died in battle in the hands of the Philistines who were victorious at that time.

How did King Saul die ?

A) He killed himself (I Sam. 31: 4-6)

b) He was slain by an Amalekite (2 Sam. 1:8-10)

C) He was killed by the Philistines (2 Sam 21: 11-13)

D) He killed himself and god put him to death (1 Chron. 10:4, 13-14)

Have you seem the fairy tales you read as a holy book? can you tell me how one person died in four different ways in one book ? oh ok the holy spirit will explain it to me 🤫

please in the comment section drop your favorite bible story and i will reply you with 5 to 10 contradiction on each story u bring up , I have studied the bible more than
many African pastors so u can imagine how I laugh at you when u come to quote bible on my post, Olodo what do u know? Religious people dont know world histories but dwells on bible stories and boast of knowledge, how dumb?

The reason why you are still a christian is because you dont even read your bible, 99% of Christians dont read the bible, they just look at the bible and say thank you jesus or Holy Spirit take control 🤣

All your life you depend on what the bible says , holy spirit says, your pastors says and your empty brainwashed head has nothing to offer

The Bible have been written, rewritten, edited and reedited severally by man while they can...
so how is it the word of your imaginary god? Are you ok ?

The picture below 👇🏾 is how I see religious people 😎
Honest questions deserve honest answer. I would explain it to you.

In 1 Samuel 31: 4-6, quoting the NLT. Let me paste it here:

Saul groaned to his armor bearer, “Take your sword and kill me before these pagan Philistines come to run me through and taunt and torture me.” But his armor bearer was afraid and would not do it. So Saul took his own sword and fell on it.

Here, we find that Saul killed himself. If you recall, a man told David that he killed Saul which necessitated that he be killed.

Oops, the second verse you quoted is the verse in question. He lied. The Amalekite lied. From the very moment that the Israeli women began to sing in their songs - Saul has killed his thousands and David his ten thousand, the rivalry between David and Saul became even more pronounced with Saul seeing David as a potential rival to the throne. He, of course, tried to kill him on more than one occasion and it was public knowledge.

Having led the troops to battle and being one of the favourites to the throne, many believed that David was next in line to the throne, so to win favours in David's sight, he claims in David's hearing that he killed one of David's enemies. This cannot be seen as a contradiction whatsoever.

The third point you raised also does not do justice to your claims. When you die on the battleground, suicide doesn't count. It's a battleground for goodness sake. It would be told that your adversary killed you even of you sustained injuries that for any reason means that you end up killing yourself. Saul died in the hands of the Philistines even though he would have loved to die honorably. The narrator makes it clear that the Philistines killed he and his son because they both fell to the sword of the Philistines in the same day.

The D) buttresses what I have been saying all along. You are free to ask questions.

I need to be online and I'm cash strapped at the moment. I heard that Opera (and they often used to send me SMS about it) gives 1.5gb data monthly because they've in patnered with MTN. I am not sure it even works on android, but what do I care - I would be using my PC, anyway.

Any comment before I download the executable with this my small mb wey remain?

Wicked man, I m sure she saw the signs before she agreed to marry him
Wicked man? How?

What makes him a wicked man? Would his wickedness be tolerable if there were nothing called a fridge and he requires that they always cook the meals they eat on the morning? Would he be wicked if this same man goes to a mama put and refuses to buy because the madam said the food was prepared yesterday and the remaining was kept in a fridge? Seriously, a lot of nairalanders amaze me.

I don't understand your problem and you don't even understand your problems, either.

So a man who wants fresh food and not food kept in the fridge is wicked? Like, is this supposed to the comment of a funny anonymous guy or a troll?

Oga, there is nothing wrong in wanting his wife to prepare food every blessed day. There is absolutely nothing wrong with people who would only eat swallow and nothing else. Nothing wrong with people who do not eat bread, or who do not eat bread, fish, etc, standing in the stall the next day. Nothing wrong with people who do not add preservatives to their meals or who do not eat meals that contains preservatives or who do not eat a certain type of meal that contains preservatives. Nothing wrong with people who would rather prepare their meals in piece meals than prepare in bulk and microwave the next day. And certainly absolutely nothing wrong with people who do not eat next day meals. I don't understand the fuss. Why is it difficult to understand why innocent people want certain things done in a certain way always? Why are you having problems with the man? If you don't have problems with food kept in the fridge for over 24 hours, should others be deemed unreasonable if they do? I am certainly one of them and I don't even earn 40k. I prepare what I need for the day and don't have to keep extra for tomorrow. Is it monotonous? Yes, life itself is repetitive. I have to charge my phone every day and care little that I spent more than 3 hours doing the same? Are the manufacturers wicked for making me go through this pain?

Tell your colleague she foolishly married an ingrate. Your colleague is at fault here. She saw a living manifestation of stupidity and decided to marry him. You ladies will say yes to idiots and start lamenting. The man earns 50k and he is complaining about frozen food. There are men earning much more than that yet for the sake of preserving the life of their wife who is also supporting the family they eat what is available until they are buoyant enough to tell her to stop slaving away at a 9-5 job and focus on a career or support the home from fully. Ladies, stop marrying idiots in a hurry and giving the lame excuse "I am not getting any younger"!
I don't understand your problem and you don't understand your problems, either.

So a person who doesn't eat ewedu, for instance, or someone who would never eat a certain type of food like swallow is also a living manifestation of stupidity? Do you have to insult people who share a different opinion on what type of food they can eat and what food they wouldn't eat? Do you have to start insulting women and ladies who say yes to men who have these taste? Is he stupid for wanting to always eat food prepared on the morning? Is it wrong because he is earning less than 50k? So a man who earns less than 50k should not get to decide what type of food to eat? Whether it has to be prepared that day or the next.

Oga, there is nothing wrong in wanting his wife to prepare food everyday. There is nothing wrong with people who would only eat swallow. You speak about the Almighty Creator of Heaven and Earth as if you’re talking about your pal with whom you sat to discuss football over a bottle of beer and suya yesterday! huh huh Indeed, may He forgive you for your pomposity and presumptousness!! undecided undecided
The guy was talking as if football was all that Man is on Earth to kick around and jest about……so he needed to be reminded that it’s not the purpose of his existence.
In fact, he would lose NOTHING if he spent his entire time on Earth without ever kicking the round leather ball even once…same goes for basketball, boxing, clubbing, womanising and all other pastimes men indulge in to amuse themselves!
Take time to reflect on the REAL PURPOSE of your existence, my friend….else you might fritter away the most important part of it and have to return Home inwardly empty and barren!! cool cool
There is no irreverence in my speech, dear friend. There is none. In fact, if there were, I would not say it. I asked forgiveness out of deep reverence, not out of ignorance. I know what I am saying and I stand by what I say.

God created everything to enjoy himself. We exist to please God but we don't always please God actively - or should I say directly. If someone accosts you and just tries to engage you in a conversation and says - look, shinealight, do you know what we would do forever and ever in Heaven? Then you ask, what? Then he goes on a long ramble about how everything in Heaven is all about God. He says forever and ever and ever, the angels, seraphs, the redeemed and others would sing praises and worship to the Almighty, day and night forever and forever. Would that look like he's irreverent? I don't think so. If he goes, we would be blaring flutes and wearing x, y, z robes while at it, would it be right? I don't think it would be right because we don't have details about how God wants us to worship him. The person would only be exaggerating, but would we call that a sin? I don't think so.

Now, depend on how you see things. I mean, is God actively in the affairs of human activities ? If yes, how? Does he carry out interventionist approach? Is he actively enjoying what he created? Why did he allow sin if he is Almighty and could prevent it no matter the human resolve involved? Would he punish some erring creatures for all eternity and does he actually delight as his creatures burn there forever?

Whether you believe the same or not, I personally believe God enjoys his creation and very much so. He can neither do wrong nor be accused of evils which his almighty hands permitted. He is neither under obligations to his creatures (even the finest and best of them, nor the worst of them). Everything, from the smallest to the greatest, isn't just for the divine glory but for the divine enjoyment as well. Now, sports, just like any other things is under divine purview and he actively delights to see the works of his hands cry, weep, moan, yes tears of blood over that round leather ball. It is not the sports per say but the actions of his creatures to these things, which makes them even more enjoyable to the divine, so the acts of sports itself is no sin.

You asked if he has reflected on the purpose of his life and then talked about enjoying the fullness of God's work in eternity - Heaven. The purpose of his life, like other living creatures, is the glory of God. The creator is not against his creatures enjoying the fullness of his work on earth because God enjoys the fullness of his work in Heaven and earth and he is pleased if we also the enjoy the fullness of his work in Heaven and on earth, so I didn't see the point of you saying ''... so that you can waste the years you have to spend on this Earth running around a field and kicking an inflated leather ball around? " Would God bar sportsman, enthusiasts and lovers from his kingdom because they chose to partake in sports?

My friend, you could have just told him that eternity is more important (which is still not necessary because you don't know his standing with GOD) far more important and should focus MORE on that instead of dismissing him for (asking what you call a frivolous question) being a sports lover and expressing surprise that someone - an educated Nigerian adult male in his late 30s or 40s is ignorant of what he should have been exposed to even if he's not a sports lover.

We are still on earth and cannot be rid of asking frivolous questions brother. You would probably do same before the day runs out and no one is supposed to criticize you for such.

Would it have been right to give the same response if someone says I don't believe that X, Y, Z didn't know that Pythagoras is Greek, or I just found out that adding garlic powder and onion stew to banga soup makes for a terrible constipation. I mean, these are earthly mundane things and are not wrong when we express shock that people are ignorant of them.

But when someone asks

How do I carry olosho in Iyana Ipaja or I don't believe that there are still people in Badagary who do not know that Augba Streets has plenty of whores; ehen your response would have been a perfect match for any of these. A fine, powerful response to OP's question at that, but not telling him that God would kick him out of Heaven because he finds it odd that a Nigerian male does not have interest in sports and asks questions to express the shock. I understand that the OP might be so engrossed in sports at the expense of his standing with GOD, but you should wait for him to fall completely - like a hunter waits for a prey so that he can fall for it - first.

May God forgive all of us.

Have you ever reflected on the purpose of your life? Why did the Creator go to all the trouble of forming you, breathing life into you and providing all the beautiful things in nature that you’re surrounded with? Is it so that you can waste the years to have to spend on this Earth running around a field and kicking an inflated leather ball around?
After that, why would the Creator permit you entry into His eternal Kingdom to enjoy the fullness of His works for all eternity? huh huh
You are weird, funny, and without any valid point at the same time. To start with, the purpose of our lives is to worship and glorify God Almighty - through and through in our entirety.

However, you make it seem as if other secondary things like leisure and pasttime is wrong. You could not be more wrong, boss. Do you know how much God enjoys himself when his creatures (the good and bad alike) take some moments to enjoy themselves in recreational sports?
It's just like the feeling you get when you're watching your kids from afar as they enjoy themselves in that pastime like skipping ropes, algalagala and other recreation with a win or loss outcome that they are immersed in. It's for fun bro, don't get worked up over it. When fans troop into pitch in their thousands to support a team and they are singing and chanting, and dancing and chanting, even the angels, I would assume, are interested and engrossed, or when then there is a dying minutes thunderous goal with fans trooping into the pitch to celebrate before the ref even blows the final whistle. . I am sure God might be amused and pleased as Liverpool fans were chanting "Make it 10" against Bournemouth yesterday God finds pleasure in some human activites. May God forgive me if I am wrong, though. My point is, hobbies are not wrong, even the Almighty may delight in us when we enjoy them.

That being said, the OP is just surprised that one of the most watched sports in the world and one of the most followed competition, a Nigerian male is ignorant of. You don't need to have certain hobbies to know certain things. You should not exonerate him because he probably doesn't follow football. We should be all rounders. I know almost nothing about Basketball but if you ask me some elementary things about the sports, I should be able to answer you. We should be all-rounders. Basic knowledge of things around us should be encouraged. A country where during Champions league night, his peers are trooping out of viewing centers in their numbers? He has no excuse.

A lot of Nairalanders would make horrible humans. There's nothing abnormal or "simpish" about how he choose to handle the situation. She has erred. She probably acknowledge her wrongs.

He could either choose to forgive or divorce her. He showed maturity by standing with her. He would do no wrong if he chooses to let her go, though. In his own discretion, he choose to forgive. We must stop attributing people's choices as simpleton attitude. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Feminine manipulation would be at an all-time low because they have to get their shit in order everytime they are approached.

I just read one Nairalander whose post got to front-page, @kenzysmith, and omo, the comments by fellow guys choke. grin grin grin grin

Thanks to God sha, an overwhelming majority of street guys are not redpilled, lol.

@kenzysmith, you didn't do well at all. This is reprensible and wrong.

Send her 300 airtime today with a message: I hope you have learned your lesson the hard way that you don't ask favours from men you have rejected. I have added 100 naira as reimbursement for any damages caused, but you might not be lucky with the next victim.

However, we should not shy away from feminine manipulation. This is what they do, they'd string you along because they need favours from men. If she has 200 to send as airtime, she likely has more.

I resigned on September 30 2021 and my boss has delayed my salary for the past 13 days now. I have tried to call him but he didn't pick my call.
I sent him messages on WhatsApp, he refused to respond despite reading it.
This is one of the reasons why I resigned...delays salary till on the 10th or 15th.
I have to call to remind him of my salary. It's highly tiring.
I think I made a mistake of resigning before collecting my salary
Note this man is very rich...the company account balance is in hundreds of millions. So no one can tell me 70k salary is an issue for him.
I am currently battling with cankersores and I need money to take care of myself.

I am thinking of going back to the office and take one of the laptops and sell it.

This is very unfair.

Please I need your advice
You're not supposed to collect your salary before making your intentions to quit known. You are simply a victim of humanity. Unfortunately, there are far more shitty people in the cosmos than most people realise.

My advice is simple: pester the life out of him, if possible for months, but be extremely polite and beggary until it gets to a point where it's glaringly obvious that no amount of persuasion would work. Remember, in his own conceit, he has nothing to lose. I remember when I quit a job sometimes back, my employer paid 2 thousand naira less than half what I was due even though I quit 4 days before the month ended. It happens. When it comes to human being matter, I don comot hand.
