Politics › Re: Can Bakassi Peninsula Be Retrieved From Cameroon? by Balyz: 3:11pm On Jan 12, 2020 |
giftedben: [s]Bakassi Peninsula was sold by General Yakubu Gowon to Cameroon in 1968. Yes, Yakubu Gowon in August 1968, had been requested by Ahmadu Ahidjo, the then President of Cameroon to sell part of Nigeria, especially the Bakassi Peninsula to Cameroon as the condition for supporting Nigeria to win the civil war against Biafra. Recall that before then, Bakassi was used as the outlet to the Atlantic to bring in food to the Easterners. The then Finance Minister, the very Obafemi Awolowo had asked Gowon: how long do you continue to feed your enemies?
Rattled by the question, Gowon, Murtala Mohammed, Olusegun Obasanjo, Martin Adamu, Theophilus Danjuma, Hassan Katsina with the tacit approval of Sultan Mohammed II and Ado Bayero, the Emir of Kano swung into action. Gowon wanting to score a point did not even discuss this with the then Supreme Military Counsel, though they quietly approved of it.
He contacted Alhamadu Ahidjo, and the Meeting was scheduled in Marua Town of Southern Cameroon in August 1968, that day Gowon, using stone, standing on Cameroon side “threw a stone” saying that wherever the stone landed should be given to Cameroun, west ward to the Peninsula. The stone landed at the very point of entry of the Peninsula called Reo Del Ree.
Hence, General Yakubu Gowon, on the advice of Obafemi Awolowo, used a stone to sell Bakassi Peninsula to Cameroon. Others is history. [/s] 100% lies |

darealez: My first time of being in Lagos was 2001, to n fro ikeja airport, second time was 25th Dec 2019 and 3rd, 4days ago. It's nothing special like everyone has spoken of left n right. No serious traffic jam and touts ready to steal my 'kidney'. I find warri and portharcourt even more cumbersome and less orderly. Lag seems as though really cool to me for now tho, the fact that people are orderly, speak less, conscious of rules and all that speaks a plus.
Warri, Bayelsa, PH, Abia ppl.... I hail o tell me a little about warri |

Understand the difference! Atiku isn't married to any Christian woman, his Igbo born wife Jennifer converted to Islam after she married him and changed her name to Jemila |

Arda1000: ur problem. I mean how can someone be as ignorant as u? My great grand father was an usher in Presbyterian church of Biafra in the 80s even b4 the creation of Abia state. Even in Abia the church was what my grand dad and his siblings attended down to my dad and us, even though we the younger ones are going to more modernized churches but i cannot never forget the Presbyterian hospital in Uburu that helped save life's of innocent Biafrans during the Genocide. . they are forever in my memories and i will tell the stories to my children's too. The church has a long history in Afikpo the so called Muslim area, and also in Uburu the lands of my cousins. So ure just simply ignorant and u will die as one. who cares about your grandfather and his church, the point Is that IPOB terrorists violently attacked a priest for not obeying the command of their Lord and savior Nnamdi Kanu |

What BBC Igbo fails to realize is that the vast majority of it's subscribers are unapologetic religious bigots, but they are also hypocrites too. Always quick to scream marginalization where they find themselves in the minority, but dish out the same treatment to the minority within their midst. A simple holiday salutation and they go haywire |

maestroferddi: Please extend your understanding of Kataf as used by me to imply all the ethnic non-Hausa Fulani people in Kaduna State in line with the subject matter.
The population figure for Kaduna State in 2006 stood at over 6 million...
I, therefore, daresay that it is inconceivable that this ethnic people must have grown to over a million as at today...
We know the ploy used by the Hausa-Fulani hegemony and their collaborators in the north to stratify/factionalized/balkanize these people so as to further their selfish interest in the scheme of things.
In the final analysis, how many people know that the religion demographics in Kaduna is not that tilted towards Islam? Guy stop shifting goalposts. The Katafs of southern kaduna are a district ethnic group from all the other groups in southern kaduna. Stop trying to be clever by half cos you don't know anything about kaduna state, and yes there are well over a million Christians from southern kaduna, but the Katafs are but just a fraction of them |

Politics › Re: Igbos Attack BBC Igbo For Wishing Them 'happy Eid' by Balyz: 5:45pm On Jun 04, 2019 |
maestroferddi: You are even sounding dumber...
The Katafs numbering close to a million are predominantly Christians... so which kind of lazy parallel were you trying to draw? Katafs don't number nearly close to a million. There are over 40 different ethnic in kaduna. I know cose I lived there for close to 15 years. But you can Google it to confirm |
