Noted. But would you honestly say you exert similar amount of energy driving auto and manual cars, especially within a busy commercial town? |
Not 'difficult' my friend, but u exert more energy. Obviously, u don't frequent a traffic jam zone. |
Osaze has seen his best days. He's on a fast decline. He should come over to Dolphins or Kwara United and retire in patriotic peace. |
ELgordo: 4th and that's my best numberYou're actually 5th. Overjoblessness dey worry una. |
If you were open minded, you wouldn't be this abusive. It smacks of arrogance. And that is what a little learning does. Until you get to the point of 'I know because I know not,' you've not begun. The Scripture tells me that 'a fool says there is no God' (an intellectual would rather say 'chances are that there is no God) Since I was born, it has never been proved wrong! I pity your lost soul. And I pray it won't be too late for you. May this thread not hunt you in hell. Amen. NB: Your case is not hopeless. Jesus (still) saves. |
saxywale: It's no big deal. Just that you can't really drive if you learn with an auto tranny. If you learn with auto, you won't even be able to move a manual car from a spot but someone that learnt with manual would drive an auto tranny conveniently. Soon, auto drivers would be given a different type of licenceI know a couple of people who learnt with manual, and find it difficult driving auto. U see them pressing an imaginary clutch or not knowing which leg to use on the break. I've driven manual a couple of times and for sure, if I drive it for a week, I'll master it. But I'm not just up for that hard labour they call driving. Point is: let he who eats only meat not make jest of he who eats only fish. Protein na protein. And besides fish is more nutritious than meat! U get my point? |
I've heard 'professional drivers' sneer at those who learnt driving, using automatic cars or drive them. They claim automatic cars were designed for the handicapped. I find such claims laughable. Manual cars are being phased out in developed countries, yet we glory here about driving them. I tell people I can't buy manual cars or drive them for anything. Why punish myself and live in retrogression? I only drive auto. Big deal? |

Its advisable to use one leg for automatic cars whether you learnt with manual or not. Brakes and Accelerators are meant to be applied using the right foot, and that's why they are placed side by side. Only the clutch of manual cars should be applied using the left leg. This is how manufacturers of cars have configured cars. Anything you do outside this is wrong. You may be getting away with it, it doesn't make it less right. Think about it; if there were a driving training system in place as it exists in other sane climes, would this question have cropped up? |
wiegraf: You're an eediot. The genuine, pure thing. Of the highest qualityYou see what I mean? No, you don't! You're so blinded by your little knowledge that you let loose so much hate on the 'religious fellas' At what point did I say u should accept my position cos I said so? You seem to be desperate on holding to the straw of fury and wrath while you sink in atheism. Fury and wrath have never validated any belief/unbelief; and it won't start with you. Be a little open-minded; be a little tolerant; be a little humble; else, you'll confidently walk into damnation! I warn you. I warn you. I have warned you! |
I'll not only wait for her, we'll eat from the same plate. What God has joined together, let no food (or plate) put asunder! |
wiegraf: Come back here op, you see the bolded here, that's your problem right there...Theists hardly set out to prove the existence of God. Any reasonable human being who can behold nature and living things would readily come to terms with his existence. Whereas Atheists set out to prove the non-existence of God but end up merely denying his existence. I have no qualms with anyone manifesting/propagating his beliefs/unbeliefs. What I find stinking is the arrogance displayed by many an Atheist especially on this forum in doing this. When you play All-Knowing in your analysis of issues, are you not inadvertently playing God? |
Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola will distribute 750,000 uniforms to secondary school students at an elaborate ceremony on Friday. This is in line with his model school policy to construct massive structures of classrooms for thousands of students. The uniforms to be worn by all students will be of the same colour and size. Source: OSBC 7pm News on 26/12/12 Isn't Ogbeni in need of urgent psychological attention? Just asking. |
kaze4blues: I stay in osogbo nd I can attest to the fact that aregbesola is really doin we'll acros d state.I also stay in Osogbo, and I tell you, Aregbesola is far from being sane and sincere. He has destroyed and demolished many Christian missionary schools-turned public school under the pretext of model school. He did not rebuild those schools but resulted to model schools, eroding their legacies and sending their names into oblivion. He has proposed to make all school students wear the same uniform!- uniform with idolatry symbols as emblems. What is the sense in packing so many students in a school when schools should be brought nearer to the people? Students will have to travel miles to attend school. What of the security challenge posed? Imagine a bomb scare in one of those schools? What stampede there would be! Ogbeni should have his head checked. He's sick. |

wiegraf: Op, wtf is this $hit. It has nothing to do with the title. I came here with the intention of berating you for something else.God is 'said' could also mean 'God is believed to be.' It doesn't necessarily mean someone said so. And as for evidence, you see it everywhere in creation and in his creatures. Just add a little thinking to seeing! Peace. |
Heatblast: I agree with thisThere's a legal maxim that means 'he who asserts must prove' Theists take it for granted that there is God. Atheists assert there is no God, but they fail to prove it. |
Atheist:-D:I read this thread and I couldn't find any post that 'blackmails ppl with fear.' Don't be paranoid. Think and be wise. |
Following a rumored increase of accommodation fee in UI from #14,000 to #60,000 and later #20,000; as well as the ban of cooking in halls of residence, UI students have rejected the move. This is the latest release by the Student Union Pro: After an extensive deliberation, pondering, discussion, calculation and computation with the vice- chancellor in his office last night, the vice-chancellor states the following position: 1. Accommodation fee will remain at #14,000 which is to be managed by different hall management. 2. Priority will be given to first and final year student 3. Refurbishment of Reading and common rooms across all the halls of residence 4. Abolishment of cooking in rooms and use or possession of cooking utensils such as hotplate, stove, gas in halls of residence, he however stated that kitchenette will be provided in halls that do not have, and existing kitchenette will be refurbished but will be meant for light cooking such as boiling water. 5. Resuscitation of Cafeteria system. The Union executives and stakeholders agreed on item 1, 2, 3 but totally disagreed with the number four as it is a malicious act targeted towards pauperizing and marginalizing an average Nigeria student. Negotiation however broke down at this juncture, however there was a re- consolidation at SUB that lasted through the dead of the night and we will be meeting with the dean of Students later this evening. We would like to reinstate our undaunted commitment to the protection and fostering of interest of Students. we do promise to exhaust all available means of dialogue and consultation Our strength lies in our Unity. It is our collective responsibility. Agboola Oladapo Oluwakayode SU P.R.O |
No human being should reasonably say with all certainty that there is no God. While the most intelligent professor in a little field of study gives room for skepticism, you hear some young chaps with a little learning talk in absolute term on a complex subject as God. What was 'fact' in scientific circles some decades back have been debunked based on superior facts. For me to say there is no three-legged human being, I must have crisscrossed the entire world to ascertain it. So it is with saying there is no God. God is said to be omniscient and omnipotent. Have you been beneath the seas and above the heavens? Have you gone to all forests and deserts in the world? What do you know? Have you finished knowing about the physical not to talk of the supernatural? To know is to admit you know not. Please, quit saying there is no God. Only a fool does that! |
mulumele: Jesus said,"Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you".You are so on point. I think the so called religion section should be further segmented. Doctrinal Teachings are not meant for people outside the faith. Even though atheists and what not would still intrude, they will be certain they are 'intruders' Seun should consider this. 2go does it better! |
In Ogbeni Aregbesola's quest to transform Osogbo, Osun state capital through massive road construction, serious havocs have been let loosed! Many major roads were 'opened up,' gutters and gullies expanded, without immediate repairs or construction. What we have are ditches and pits everywhere while construction goes on at a snail pace. Many have fallen into these ditches and lost their limbs, or got seriously injured. Some have ended up in the morgue. I visited a retiree today who fell into a ditch recently and got her hand fractured. She's been carrying p.o.p for many weeks. She lamented that Aregbe wanted to use her blood for sacrifice! While this may be rightly or wrongly waved aside, can someone tell me the rationale behind this madness?! |

dayokanu: State of osun is the right way to pronouce it and Ogbeni Aregbesola has given the reason in the youtube above.I insist that both State of Osun and Osun State are correct. We have both forms in the United States. Changing the pattern we adopted over 50years ago overnight is ridiculous. |
lamjell: dont you people know that Osun state is named after River Osun. Osun is a goddess and that is why it is called living spring. State of Osun simply means the state that belongs to Osun. I dont know why you people want to kill youself on this issueWhat point have you made now? |
dayokanu: Try get some education. Our democracy is fashioned after the Presidential system in the US and not the British parliamentary systemI'm talking 'Use of English,' you're talking system of Government. Between, does modeling a system mean aping everything in it? If we fail to 'fashion our democracy' after US in terms of nomenclature for state, does it take anything away from our democracy? The point is: grammatically the difference btw 'Osun State' and 'State of Osun' is just like the difference btw six and half a dozen! |
not2long: State of Osun is the right one.So, the United States- not even Britain- is our model? Smh... |
femi4: Gbenga Daniel actually changed OGBC and OGTV to Gatway radio and GTV respectivelyThanks. Modified. |
