PHCN have had to protest in time past with 'total black out' i.e no power supply at all for days. Assuming you were asked to choose between a month black out and terribly erratic supply for a month too, what will you choose? By 'erratic' I mean incessant switching on and off e.g up to 70 times a day. (Consider what it can do to your appliances) It's happening now (though there is no protest), and it's not funny at all. I just imagine that becoming a way of protest. |
Doesn't that imply that the harvest is rottening while the labourers laze about? @frosbel |
I read in an Islamic Education course material that 'over fifty percent of the population of Africa are Muslims; in Nigeria, it is about fifty-five percent.' Fact or Fiction? |
What about prying into someone's inbox? Some people need an upbraid on that! How dare you intrude into my privacy, and then tell me I should have passworded it if I didn't want you to pry. Friend or no friend, it's simple courtesy. Take permission before prying. That's all. |
I don't think Op is remorseful at all. You want to CELEBRATE wedding with pregnancy? Who does that? Well, shameless children of the devil do!! There is nothing like wedding anymore. What is there to wed again? Body, soul, or spirit? You've already wedded each other. All you need do is: ask God for forgiveness, go to church for BLESSING on your marriage, formalize it at the registry, and be faithful to your husband. That's all. |
Odunnu: There is no Accounting class in UI? Why?The department of Accounting, and some others will soon kick off in UI. The massive building is under construction, thanks to CBN. UI has over the years been very restrictive in the programmes she runs, to ensure qualitative education. Currently, the department under the Faculty of Social Sciences are just 5: Economics, Sociology, Psychology, Geography, and Political Science. |
I talk to dad more. I'm closer to mum. Why? Because dad is the jealous type. |
I think it's a privileged right. It's like someone owing you some amount of money. You have a right to a refund, but what if the person doesn't have money or any tangible asset the court can sell off? It's more of a moral obligation. Some parents don't have, and they don't strive to send you to school. Some only pay school fees, and hardly care how you survive. The worst you can do is to ridicule them. No one can compel them to. Every child must acknowledge his parents for being true to their moral obligation. That's all. |

Wow...just few minutes ago, my aunt lost all her 3 phones (a BB inclusive) at a wedding. She had kept the three phones in a purse and left it in her car. While she locked the driver's door; the other side was, unknown to her, left unlocked by her sister. Few minutes into the church service, when she returned to pick her phone, alas, the purse was gone! They were all switched off immediately. Someone stated that the BB can be traced using the pin. Is that possible? |

'Thief thief! That's what internet age is producing! Intellectual indolence and insolence'- Bamgboye Ifeoluwa. If you copied someone's line, acknowledge the owner or at least, put in inverted comma's to show that it isn't your statement. All unrighteousness isn't just a sin; breach of intellectual property is actionable in a court of law. Don't joke with bankruptcy! |

kayusbrown: Moral issues are always controversial and complicated. What determines the moral correctness or wrongness of a deed is the perspective from which the deed is viewed or the basis on which the deed is judged. Endless arguments results when the perspective or basis of judgement is not agreed upon. The author of the article judged Goldie from his (the author's) religious perspective or personal moral convictions which Goldie perhaps was not under any obligation to comply with. Life is all about choices. Choices that definitely come with their consequences. What makes us human is the ability to choose how we want to live our life. Even God does not choose for us how to live our lives, He only suggests the best way and leaves us to choose with divine guidance (our conscience) and warning that there will be consequences for every choice made. Castigating individuals for the choices they make, when the consequences of those choices does not affect us, is like denying them the right to live and live freely. Goldie made her choices while she was alive and that's all that matters. I'm sure she faced the consequences of her choices while she was alive and if such consequences extends to the afterlife, she alone will face it. Those who have the rights to complain about the choices she made are the ones who probably were affected by those choices like her Widower, her immediate family members e.t.c and I've not heard anyone of them complaining about how she lived her life. While I agree largely with your line of thought, your submission that 'only those affected by her actions' should speak up is questionable. How do you measure that? And have you considered the ripple effect it has? Just one brainwashed member of a family that idolizes her can create problem for the whole family. And from a family, it spreads to a community and to the nation at large. Its like an open sore, if it's not treated on time, it is bound to become messier and occupy more space. And well, it wouldn't have mattered much if Goldie displayed her 'madness' in the confines of her house; but 'manifesting and propagating' same via the media deserve the sternest criticism for the above reasons. And it's dearth of critical reasoning that makes people underestimate the place of correct values. When a 'star' preaches thru her lyrics and dressing lewdness, immorality and all forms of social vices, it shapens the kind of values the next generation accept and this affects every area of our national life. |
Wow...spot on. This deserves a place in national or international media. Free2rhyme, did you author this? If you did, let's get to talk pls. |

While Nigerians are still basking in the euphoria of bashing the Malians to book a place in AFCON 2013 finals, a distasteful piece of news has started flying around: 'In december, A spanish magician already predicted dat ghana wuld beat Nigeria 3-1 in d final with Gyan scoring the winning goal....http://www.soccerstarng.mobi/story_display_page.php?cover_story_id=470' May Ghana not get to the final not to talk of dashing our championship hopes! |
sweetcheecks: No jokes Sagamite, kanti whats wrong with this question?Mukina enjoys the ambivalence that goes with its 'character' in this fiction called 'nairaland.' Don't expect it to disclose its gender. Mukina is a feminine name but the character on nairaland has a masculine role play. Just stick with the neuter gender 'it' or use s/he! But if you ask me, this Mukina is male. |
