PoliticsRe: What's The Difference Between 'Osun State' And 'State Of Osun' by bamto(op): 5:57pm On Dec 05, 2012
Ikengawo: it means a lot if you have a strong grasp of english

State of Osun says that Osun is an entity beyond the state it's self and State of Osun is the state body representing that entity
Osun State say that Osun is the type of state you're dealing with

State of Osun is therefore recognizing Osun's precolonial or possibly cultural legacy and saying this particular state is only representing that.
I can authoritatively confirm to you that this is gibberish!
PoliticsWhat's The Difference Between 'Osun State' And 'State Of Osun' by bamto(op):
The way politicians change names of monuments amazes me. What is the rationale behind Aregbesola's state name change from 'Osun State' to 'State of Osun?' For finesse or what?

That was how Gbenga Daniel changed OGTV and OGBC to Gateway TV and Gateway Radio respectively, only for Amosun to revert it. Goodluck's recent gift of MAU to Akokites is still fresh in mind.

Pray, who advises them to embark on this charade of name change?

If they are so sure winning the title wasn't a fluke, they shouldn't be this desperate.
PoliticsRe: 20 Boko-Haram Members Arrested In Abuja by bamto(m): 1:29pm On Nov 30, 2012
@ Op. Your topic should read 'boko haram suspects' and not 'boko haram members' An accused person is presumed innocent until proven guilty. This is not militocracy.
Nairaland GeneralShould There Be 'dislike' Button On Nairaland? by bamto(op): 12:54pm On Nov 30, 2012
I wonder what it would look like if nairaland introduces 'dislike' option button. But for the orientation of some nairalanders who cannot draw the line between holding a dissenting opinion and hatred for a person, it could have been more fun.
If only we had a civil community on nairaland, it would have been a remarkable upgrade introducing a 'dislike' button, as well as allowing us see the identities of those who like and dislike comments and posts.
SportsAFCON 2013: Zambia Buys Crowd Against Eagles by bamto(op): 11:56am On Nov 30, 2012
The Zambia Football Federation is to purchase 20,000 tickets for the match against the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in South Africa.
Zambia and Nigeria are to play in Group C at Mbombela Stadium.
Sipho Sithole, Chief Communications Officer, AFCON Local Organising Committee (LOC), told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Johannesburg that Zambia had requested for the ticket.
'I must tell you that Zambia Football Federation have asked us that they want 20,000 tickets for their match against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.'
'But the federation is also purchasing that volume of tickets for every match that they will be playing,' Sithole said.

FamilyRe: Can You Object The Union Of Couples At A Wedding Ceremony? by bamto(m): 11:50pm On Nov 29, 2012
Announcement on the day of wedding is merely ceremonial and not binding. Bans of Marriage is announced three times before the wedding. Any intruder on the wedding day should be bound and thrown out!

Medical what? That's so untrue.
FamilyRe: Don't I Have The Right To Be In Labour Room With My Wife? by bamto(op): 6:24pm On Nov 28, 2012
TCD: YES, 5-10 in the labour room, in labour at the same time. Its normal in most govt hospitals.

And there are many more in the labour ward, waiting to take their place.

This is the flow

Labour ward => Labour room => recovery/post natal ward.

And there many women in each of those stations.
This is pathetic. Thanks for the info. Now I know the real reason for the refusal. I guess they (the men) were to shamefaced to reveal this part.

adora4u1: I thought he didn't want to play for Naija?! Better Naija than no team!
The report quoted Keshi, and not Osaze as saying so. Keshi later denied. We cannot judge him based on hearsays.
I however question his level of patriotism too. But then, we need his pace, experience and wit in that team. Keshi can handle his excesses.

If the bolded part of your post connotes being squeamish, lemmie assure you I'm not. When a loved one is concerned I can't predict my reaction when blood start pouring. . . . Know thyself!!!
Lol. My last statement refers to me. I've seen very dear one lose blood; I've seen others die. Like you said, I know myself- and the reasoning behind that statement 'if doctors can stand the sight, why can't I?'contibuted in shaping my personality.

SportsOdemwingie Desperate For Nations Cup by bamto(op): 12:00pm On Nov 28, 2012
West Brom striker, Osaze Odemwingie, says he is giving his all so as to be considered for a place in Nigeria's squad for the upcoming 2013 Africa Nations Cup.

Odemwingie did not participate in the qualifiers for the Nations Cup, but the striker believes his current form and experience can sway national team selectors.

'I want to be part of the Super Eagles team that will try to win the Africa Cup of Nations next year. I am looking forward to South Africa' He said that Nigeria will be ruthless in South Africa after missing out on the previous championship held in Equitorial Guinea and Gabon and warns teammate and Congolese international, Yussouf Mulumbu that his country will suffer if it crosses Super Eagles' path.

“I have told him that it will be different if we meet at the Nations Cup in January.”

I just Like nairaLand because of d Likes I get grin[/quote
2go is simply for chatting; not in the same class with these three. And bbm is an outlet for using the three. Dont you also get likes on facebook? (it even shows their identity). Why can't nairaland equally upgrade to be able to disclose identities of those who like one's post?

youngdady: I've heard funny stories about men who were so in-love and entered labour room with their wives only to faint or attempt to run out when blood started gushing out. Me, I don't think I want to watch all that process. I'm contented praying for her safe delivery and loving her as much as I can with or without baby delivery.

I can't faint abeg!!! cheesy
Don't base your decision just on what you've heard. But then, if you are the type that won't touch 'Medicine and Surgery' with a long pole, then it's wise you stay away. If doctors can stand the sight, why can't I?

mondi_cheeks: why is does everything have to revolve around beauty...if u go broke u wld still expect her to love u regardless, u can't expect unconditional love if u can't give it back in return
I wonder o. In beauty and in 'ugliness' till death do us path. Love transcends fickle emotions. Its a choice, commitment and covenant.

Nairaland is ok,just be sure to get your fact straight before posting a comment or else you will recieve insults and if you are someone who cant take insults is better you just be a viewer rather than someone who comments to often.

I will advise nairaland, their are different life experience you could learn.
Remarkably honest and intelligent comments there. Thumps up.

Flash back then to the period before you got bored. Which WERE you addicted to the most? If you were to advise a young chap who is just picking up the three, what will it be?
Nairaland GeneralWhich Is The Most Addictive: Twitter, Facebook Or Nairaland? by bamto(op): 7:39am On Nov 27, 2012
For me, its just in that order (twitter, facebook, nairaland) perhaps because I get BB notification for twitter and facebook. I'd restrained myself from getting involved with twitter until a friend showed me what I was missing. I restrict myself to front page on nairaland, and visit politics, religion, sports and family sections when I'm bored (I switched from romance to family when some kids infiltrated that section)
So, which do you find most addictive and how do you manage the addiction?
Nairaland GeneralWhich Is Most Addictive: Twitter, Facebook Or Nairaland? by bamto(op): 6:53am On Nov 27, 2012
For me, it's just in that order (twitter, fb, nairaland), maybe 'cos I use a BB and gets notification for twitter and facebook. In fact, I resisted getting involved with twitter until a friend showed me what I was missing. For nairaland, I restrict myself to front page, and only visit mostly politics, religion sports, and family (formally romance section until some kids infiltrated it) sections when am bored.
Which do you find most addictive amongst these 3, and how do you manage them?
FamilyRe: Don't I Have The Right To Be In Labour Room With My Wife? by bamto(op): 6:31am On Nov 27, 2012
drnoel: What of if u want to be there for a cs. Who has the right to tell u to stay out? It just depends on the hospital policy, and or if the doctors in charge are comfortable with ur presence there. If u have a rapport with the doctors they may let u in. There are lots of other reasons like, if u won't faint on seeing ur wife screaming with pain and bleeding from her introitus or if u are not afraid of blood.
A man that can't stand his wife scream or the sight of blood has no business in the labour room in the first place. If its a CS, I'd rather not be there cos 'scabashing' mode would have been activated.

He needs not feel the pains cos they are incomparable. Mere witnessing the hues, push, and cries is enough pain for a loving hubby.

smartmom: Ahhh not with me o! on the 2 occasions he was there, the labour went smooth and swift and the bonding with the babies is always instant too. I believe its a unique experience men shouldn't miss out on. It may be the only thing they can lay claim to in the birthing of a child ..eer apart from the initial input that is.
God bless you for this.
FamilyRe: Don't I Have The Right To Be In Labour Room With My Wife? by bamto(op): 6:18am On Nov 27, 2012
sucezTP: It is often said that, if a man enters the labour room when his wife is on labour, there is a probability that she wouldn't deliver the baby on time. Although, i don't know if thats true..
IMO, i will suggest that, a man enters the labour room and watches how his wife goes through pains since they both did it together..on seeing that, he would know how to care for his wife the more..
Now, that's a strange rumor. Perhaps applicable to cruel husbands who only come around during labour to pull stunts.

Seriously? Modern women bite? I'll watch out for that...yeah, you're right on point. I'll like to stir up my sense of respect for her.
