The amount of hate and ignorance Nigerians exhibit on issues of homosexuality is just annoyingly baseless. No wonder we haven't moved forward as a people. Shame we are small-minded.

Now this is for those who have the habit of worrying, I totally understand your plight but these kinds of moods are very infectious and the more the thread goes in that direction, the more negative air we'll have around.

The more you pray, the less you'll panic. The more you worship, the less you worry. You'll feel more patient and less pressured.
Rick Warren

Get busy, remove those thoughts that pop in and tell you what if you're refused. Waiting periods should be used smartly, and if you happen to always be on the thread, answer peoples' questions and contribute generally in a good light.

Bamz pls can u explain further y a return ticket is needed. Cos am about to book mine too. thanks in advance
Like I said before, other than the obvious reason for a return ticket, you will need it for PTA. PTA allows students to travel with as much as 4K USD.

Lagos is closer and I think better too. Its your choice tho. You can leave early, if its public transport then you can use either Muyi line, God is good motors or Edegbe motors going to Ajah Lagos. Its easier to get to the visa application Centre from there. Unless you like night traveling i don't think you can return that same day.
kristien4,

As an addendum, flying from Benin to Lagos is under an hour just in case you want to opt for that.

There is fact and then there is interpretation. Youre smart enough to know that in present Nigeria, people hold more than one network because of reliability and how geography somehow plays a role in quality of services. Try to avoid over-generalizations.

FYI, I have two glo lines, one for data, and other for voice, and I have no complaints.

Hello lovely colleagues, I really need your help now. Glory to God,my study permit has been approved, so now I want to book my flight, I want to ask if I am to purchase a one way ticket or return ticket. Cos some is telling I must purchase a return ticket, I need your help please.
The God of perfection is at work!!!

I see you applied May 3rd. It's beginning to happen folks cheesy

If you want to get PTA (Personal Travel Allowance), then you will need a return ticket other than the obvious reason. By the way, you need to book your flight(s) asap.

Please share your documents with the house.

michV,

To some extent, I see the point you're trying to make, I try to play Devil's advocate sometimes.
Psalm 90:17 ESV - Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands!
The Bible encourages us to put forth our best** possible application (our works) then have faith that everything will work for good.
**There is no perfect application, and since God's ways are higher and his thoughts are wilder, only He can turn a relatively messed up application to a miracle. In the end, faith makes a fool of what makes sense.

iykedare,

NGN has more value than the CFA (XOF) so let's just focus on GHS.
So let's say we've got NGN1.8m to change to USD via GHS.
At official rates:

Converting in Nigeria....

NGN1.8m = 6380.17 USD

----------------------------------------------------------------

Travelling to Ghana, or finding a way to transfer funds over there...

NGN1.8m = 25137.88 GHS
25137.88 GHS = 6380.83 USD

----------------------------------------------------------------

Same difference with both approaches I'd say unless you're trying to change some personal allowance fees which you won't get here at official rates.

Hi Nadia,
Form A transactions are called Trade invisibles and they are still being done.
School fees payment paid to the school and living expenses paid directly in to a student's account fall within this category
The only issue here is that the rates and availability of FX is dependent on the interbank market as opposed to the CBN, as before.
So what I'm trying to say is that banks, especially the FXPD's (foreign exchange primary dealers) still engage in these transactions, but at a rate predetermined by the interbank market. So different banks with different rates, and different processes. So, Try out to inquire about Trade invisibles from banks. It's not among the banned items so I'm very certain that banks still do it, just at the interbank rate for that day, determined by availability of FX.
I know Access did formA for about N300:1USD last week.

The good thing is that you don't have to wait for a whole week as in the past, for the banks to send these Trade invisible items to CBN, they just debit and remit next day, if funds are available. (Tho CBN intervenes from time to time, but that's without the knowledge of the customer)

Hope this calms you down.

Cheers.
