Olujastro has said it all.. It is almost impossible to get into a Norwegian University without a 2.1 especially if you came from a developing land. Tromsø even specifically required a "B" grade from applicants from developing countries.

However, there is no harm in trying Lykke til.

TravelRe: Why Is European Union Countries Visa Called Shenghen Visa by Bandeco(m): 2:43pm On Jul 20, 2017
Schengen has nothing to do with EU. Britain and Republic of Ireland are in the EU but are not in the schengen borderless agreement. Norway and Switzerland are not members of the EU but are part of schengen agreement.

The Schengen Area is an area comprising 26 European states that have officially abolished passport and all other types of border control at their mutual border. The name "Schengen" is coined from the city the agreement was signed. A city in Luxembourg called Schengen.

Congratulations guys. Sweden awaits you all. I am sure you will love this beautiful country.

I can not over emphasize this - Try and come with a driver license and learn how to drive. Amen

Also put great efforts to learn the language once you get here, if you really want to get a job soon. Most universities offer free Swedish language courses for foreigners. Most municipalities too offer Swedish for immigrants classes (SFI). Amen

Again leant how to cook - the stomach is very important, it most be refilled tongue wink You might not be too comfortable with the local dishes here in the first instance and eating outside could be way more than what you can afford in the for long. Bring local naija food stuffs tongue but don't bring anything liquid like palm oil or g/oil. Amen

thanks for your contribution since,OK if l want to apply for working visa, what are the documents l am going to use to apply for it and you can mail me here( kayode4islam323@gmail.com
To apply for work permit in Sweden, you must have :

1) You must have an offer of employment in Sweden. Your employer must have advertised the job in Sweden and the EU/EEA and Switzerland for at least ten days before the offer of employment was made.

2)Your employer in Sweden initiates the work permit application by completing an offer of employment. Your employer needs information about your name, date of birth, citizenship, education and your e-mail address.

It is important that you have access to the e-mail address you give your employer until you have received a decision regarding your application. The Swedish Migration Agency will use this e-mail address to communicate with you throughout the application period.

3)When your employer has complete an offer of employment you will receive an e-mail with information about how to apply for a work permit.

In the application you provide information about yourself. If your family is coming with you to Sweden you apply for permits for them at the same time. You should also check that the information about your employment terms in the offer of employment corresponds with what you and your employer have agreed on.

Bro I want to ask you a question that bother me

Concerning the Sweden migration board requirements for resident permit

I want to find out if is compulsory you must have 50% of the remaining part of your tuition in statement of account before applying.

That is after you must have pay the compulsory 50% deposit and have the maintenance fee in the account.
No.. You just have to only show equivalent of the total money for living expenses in your local currency. This is enough
TravelRe: Nigerians In Oslo, Norway by Bandeco(m): 6:10am On May 18, 2017
Oboy, dollar account will cost you far more. Do you want to source dollar at exorbitant prices at black market?

Dump diamond bank, they have forex issues with CBN.
Which sane bank will advise someone to open a domicilary account and fund it with dollars in order to transfer money abroad for study purposes.

Open a GTB savings account, deposits the naira equivalent or more there and request for form A.

You are entitled to use form A as a Nigerian student going abroad to school.

He has told you how it works. But if you are above 30,private is the only thing you can go for on your own; you can't take public insurance anymore since you are already above 30 before you enter Germany; only if your employer will do that on your behalf. As for which one is the best, you can confirm from the current students of your school through the school's facebook page. Sometimes, what is cool in Berlin might not in Munich. Mawista is common here, so also care concept but public is still the best in terms of coverage. Mawista and some other private insurance companies have different prices for different package ranging from basic to premium. All in all, they both have pros and cons. Shalom
Omo.. All this long stories for health insurance.

Scandinavia good oo... If your study duration is above one year, you are covered to receive FREE health-care just like the citizens of the country. No health insurance wahala here. Health insurance is the least concern of students here

@mantleguy @Atigba

Please try as much as you can to come here with a driver's license. Most companies will not employ you if you don't have a driver's license. It is a requirement for most Job. It is very important here.

A Nigerian driver's license is accepted here for one year. Thereafter you can apply for a Swedish driver's license.

If you come here without a DL be ready to pass through plenty bureaucracy and plenty money to spend.

Lastly, though nearly all swedes speak fluent English language, the native language (svenska) is vital . It will heavily increase your chances of landing a job and also expand your social network.

I wish you all success in your application.

Not my fault though, I didn't get enough information that am getting now

And no active Sweden student thread on nairaland, I would have apply for 2 years program

Again, my target is PhD program in Business studies, because I heard their PhD program is free.
PhD is not only free but a WELL paid job in Sweden. It is a job and you qualify for permanent residence after 4years of PhD program.

You could also apply for job seekers permit after this your Msc. Very straight forward. You be granted 1year permit to find work and when you do find work you can apply for work permit. Most people have little or no problem settling here after studies

Sverige är ett fantastiskt land

Is one year master's program....the school already gave me insurance for the period.

Again, you know how things be presently I don't have enough money again due to current exchange rate.

According to their site they 're ok with 10months maintenance fee I will go for that

https://www.migrationsverket.se/English/Private-individuals/Studying-in-Sweden/Universities-and-university-college.html
Your program is for one year(60 HEC) , therefore you are good to go with 10months funding.

But know that you won't get a Swedish personal number because it is only given to students whose studies will last for more than a year.

Most Universities do cover NON-EU students against sickness, or loss of any kind regardless of duration of studies . In this case the FAS+ insurance will suffice. So you are insured already through the FAS+ by your darlana University. No worries. No need for private or personal insurance cover. When asked to upload insurance cover during application, upload your notification of selection result, as this agreement is stated there.

PS: Why didn't you go for a 2year masters.?

Whatever the case, Sweden is a humane and wonderful country to come to as a student .

Lycka till

Dalarna university

The amount for maintenance fee is 80,640 ten months

8640 per month according to the Sweden migration website.
I suppose your study will last for more than a year?

In this case, As a first time applicant. You need to show funds for 11months. That is 8064 x 11=88704. This is so because you will be granted 13months residence permit as a first timer which makes you eligible to register with the Swedish tax office (skatteverket) and obtain a Swedish personal number (personümmer)

If you show funds for 10months, you will be given 12months residence permit which makes you ineligible to register with the tax agency. In this case you will not get a Swedish personal number(personümmer) and consequently will not be covered by the Swedish social insurance scheme.. No free health-care. Difficulty in opening a bank account etc etc
TravelRe: Is It Wise To Travel To Denmark To Hustle? by Bandeco(m): 9:00pm On May 12, 2017
Denmark is a fantastic country that offers its (legal) residents one of the best standard of living in the world.

But it is almost impossible to live in Denmark without requisite legal papers. ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE again.

You are far better off in Nigeria than migrating to Denmark without a clear cut plan to live there legally.

No be you kill Jesus bro. Enough said

Please Bandeco

Do you know if the migration board consider the previous transactions in the statement of account or just the maintenance fees in the account because am planning to apply, I have the amount though.
I suppose you mean application for study and residence permit.

If I am right.
Migrationsverket don't dwell much on the previous transactions. This does not mean there should be blatant lump sum in your account at the verge of you sending in your application. As this will obviously raise suspicion.

The focus is to see evidence (by way of bank asset in your name)that you have the required equivalence of SEK88,704 in your local currency.

It is advisable to provide( if possible) a financial statement for 3months.

Which university in Sweden will you be studying at?

Well, I have visited other Scandinavian states except Norway and having read through some threads here on nairaland about studies in Norway,
it seems to me there are better opportunities for corporate jobs than in Sweden particularly in their oil and gas sector. Sweden is a very good place just like other Scandinavian or Nordic countries however, getting professional job after graduation is still a big challenge. There might be exceptions though...
I schooled in Norway for 2years, migrated to neighboring Sweden where I currently live for years now.

So I am in good position to answer - as you base your comment on an old opinions on nairaland.

It is true that the Scandinavian countries are similar in culture, language and so many other ramification.
But when it comes to liberalism, multiculturalism, friendly immigration policy, less racism - Sweden wins hands down.

In addition to being more humane - Sweden has a more comprehensive and robust Economy as at today than Norway and Denmark - at least now that oil prices is in a mess - hence Norway is in economic strait because oil is the mainstay of the Norwegian Economy. Oil companies in Norway are shedding workers.

If getting a professional job in Sweden is hard then be rest assured that it is harder in Norway because of the (very) tight post graduation job permit, less ubiquitous and diverse economy/companies in comparison to Sweden.

I will advice anyone especially a Nigerian to move to the US or Australia if the opportunity arises but if it comes down to Sweden or Norway at this prevalent climate - please come to sweden.

I am not trying to say Norway is not a great place. Far from it. In fact, only very few countries in the world can match Norway in terms of standard and quality of living.

But in terms of immigration policy, liberalism, accommodating, more diverse industrial base, ease to find work and become a citizen after schooling - Sweden is better.

Go to the US or Australia if you have the means. Both offer better opportunities after your graduation. Getting integrated into corporate community in Scandinavian States is pretty difficult except maybe Norway. This is real my brother unless you want to do menial jobs...
You point is good but you mar it with "except Norway".

Among the Scandinavian countries, Sweden is the most liberal and easiest place to integrate and feel at home. So why is Norway an exception.?
