Kudos to the gurus, you guys are doing a great job. Your contributions has changed some many destinies.

Please help a brother Abeg, masters applicants. I have gotten 5 Univ. to apply to through DAAD, all these 5 Univ do not require Uni- assist for submissions.
I also have 2 Univ that offer my desire courses but I have to apply for through Uni-assist.
My questions are;
1. For the one that does not require me to apply through uni-assist, do I need application form to submit together with my credentials(Degree, CV, reference letter, motivation letter etc)

2. For the ones that require uni-assist how can I apply and pay their fees.

3. How much can we say €8,000 is now in naija currency. Is It ok to be using parallel market rate or bank rate for the budget due to unstable forex

I'm sorry if my questions sound like a lazy man questions. I have been read previous thread (part 1) though, (am still reading) but I need to fast track to beat the deadline for submission.

Thank you in anticipation.

Cc: all gurus, Bandeco, eke.....

God bless.
Omo you don port to Deutschland thread. Good

1) Definitely yes( enquire at the program website how to do it exactly

2) Apply online, send the form electronically to uniassist, print out and sign then pay the fees and send with all Ur supporting documents (certificate and transcript must be certified)

3)As at today, official rate is 222.07..times € 8k...
Unofficial rate will be much higher. Over 300 per euro

Ur GPA of 2.55 is quite low. More so, when applying for an engineering course. If you convert ur GPA to German grading system u will realize that its equivalent is 2.8 and most if not all public schools require atleast 2.5 or better for masters admission

Just apply to many schools as possible, write IELST (it helps) , write a mind-blowing motivation letter. You might just be considered

Hi everyone, this forward and backward talk is irritating. Learn to appreciate the truth from people's experiences. I'm an expert at UK visa online applications. The truth is, they don't trust Nigerians out there and when you talk about SOA's, the total cost of your trip, including feeding, transportation, housing and even allowance is calculated by the VOs for the duration of your stay in any foreign country. Dem no even want make you come their country sef, not to talk of staying there, I've been denied a UK visa before along with my parents, and an immmigration lawyer helped us repackage our documents and you would not imagine what my parents had to submit, original copies of Marriage Certificate, pictures of my family, pictures of the Petrol Station owned by my parents, Certificate of Incorporation of the company, letters from the company stating that they are entitled for a vacation and are actually due for it and the trip would be sponsored by the company, company's SOA, Personal and Joint SOAs of my parents, my brother's (who we were going to visit) payslip for the past 4 months, his wedding invitation card, pictures of his traditional wedding that was done in Lagos (cos' na white wedding we wan go attend for that side), all his stamped passport and biodata pages, our vaccination cards, we even had to submit the deed of the the land, the company property was on, and deeds of the other lands owned by my dad. We were granted the UK visa when all this proof was presented and all original documents including pictures were returned.

Now back to my matter, I was denied my first canadian visiting visa in 2012, reason was they were not sure I would return to Naija, my sister decided to use study permit format in 2015, I was denied as well, but it was partly our fault, my SOA and Mum's SOA (cos' dad is now late) wasn't submitted. Before reapplying in December, I had to include the following documents (scanned cos' its an online application):
- my dad's death certificate
- my dad's last will and testament (showing the properties belonging to my mum, sister and I).
- pictures of my inherited property.
- my SOA
- mum's personal SOA
- Company's SOA
- Board Resolution letter of the company
- letter stating that my mum has approved my going to study and she would still support me alongside my sponsor (my sister).
- Sponsor's SOA and payslip of 4 months
- my Uniben Certificate
- my WAEC Certificate
- my Uniben PGD Admission letter of 2014
- Affidavit of Age Declaration
- Biodata page of the Medicals done in my previous application (which now acts as Upfront Medicals).
- pictures of my sister (sponsor) and I, mum and I
- one or two dad's funeral photos
- Humber Admission letter (still the first one from the previous application).
- Humber Acceptance and Sit Confirmation letter
etc

[s][/s]For those bragging about Germany, my brother who got married to a German girl last year is still here in Naija learning the German language, he's taking the language exam in April and has to pass it. He was denied a visiting visa last year that's why the girl had to come get married to him here last year. Theirs isn't so easy to get too. Nigeria isn't strict on granting visas to other countries, that's why you see that they can freely enter this country with little or no hassles.
To me, I'd say Canada is more lenient than UK or Germany.
[s][/s]

What is your point on thishuh You veered off topic. This has no bearing on our discussion about Germany. We are talking about study visa, you are here making reference to spousal visa. Smh... U don't need any lesson in German to go to Germany as a student if ur program is tutored in English.
Ur brother was denied visiting visa probably cos he didn't demonstrate good home tie (as in the case of tourist visa) to make the officials believe he will come back. If anyone is going to Germany to meet a spouse that person must have a prior knowledge of German. This does not apply to international student studying a program in taught entirely in English.

If Canada is so easy why were you denied with all the documents u submittedhuh Probably because of ur 3rd class uniben certificate grin grin grin Omo see documents only to submit for study visa. Very Soon some applicants will provide documents and pictures of them swearing in Ogun or amadioha shrine to prove to Canadian VO that they will return to Nigeria or are going to study grin grin grin. grin grin grin. Try Germany and see the difference.. I am talking base on experience. I have experience both process firsthand. Germany is way easier and cheaper to obtain study visa

here is mine.
I hate to say. Some of the reasons Canada adduce for visa refusal are outright frivolous and preposterous like

* Limited travel history demonstrated
How has ur travel history got to do with the fact that you seek to study in a world class institution abroad. What has it got to do with seeking international exposure. Is travel history a curriculum in Canadian education system?

*Applicant is young, unmarried with no dependants
This is just laughable . So quality education is now restricted to the old, married, family people?

*No family tie / Home tie in country of residence and Canada.
This is quite unreasonable. I say so because you already have a system where international students are granted post study work permit. So why are you then again concern if they will leave ur country after studies. To the extent that you refuse them study visa cos you are not convince they will leave after ur studies. This is a contradiction of policy at best.
Like I have a policy that folks who come to my house to attend a meeting can stay on after the meeting if they so wish, then when scrutinizing such folks I am concern if they will leave my house at the end of the meeting or not. I refuse them access to my house because am not convince they will leave after the meeting. Huh shocked :-O... This is tomfoolery. No other country with a post study work permit system adduce this reason for visa denial.

Now with all such reasons someone will say Canada study visa is relatively easier to obtain than Germany's(where everything is as straight forward as a pole). Germany don't deny you visa in absentia. You are given a very interactive opportunity to prove that you are indeed going to study and u are capable of undertaking the course. You are even given a test to prove ur academic suitability if necessary right there at the embassy. If you have intention to study and have the basic knowledge of the program and has €8000 to fund ur account; Germany will give you visa.

To me Canada is one big lottery. Some of Their rules are contradictory, preposterous and analog. Sadly, folks here with burning desire to study abroad are denied visa cos of some this same rules. Pathetic

gurus i hail ooo!
after waiting for my gcms file for almost 2 months, they sent it to me on friday (94 pages) most pages were my cic forms and personal docs of me and my sponsor.
Truly canad and US share information, it was stated there, they matched some of my biography with the once i submitted at the US embassy in
2013,
2014
and 2015 when i applied for student visa which was refused i was advised by US consular in my last interview to try my education else where thats why i picked canada.
this is the officer's note:
Docs n notes reviewed conclusion: Limited previous travel demonstrated - Limited family ties - applicantis single and young with no listed dependants - concerns over personal finances. Majority of financial documents sumitted are for a third party. Not satisfied that applicant will readily have access to the available funds stated on application forms. Applicant has not provided compelling reasons to study in canada. Unclear why applicant would incur cost of relocating to canada to rather that undertake similar course of study in country of residence. Concerns applicant is using study permit as means to facilitate entry to canada rather than educational advancement. Based on available information, i am not satisfied that applicant will leave canada after end of authorised stay. Study permit refused..
application date :
2015/nov.
sponsor: Uncle Dad's brother. (US citizen) medical doctor.
reason: my dad is late that why he is funding me
statement of account: $100,000usd
course nursing
school: conestoga college
fees: $13750 (paid part tuition of $6750) to conestoga
reasons for refusal ticked; Travel history, personal asset and financial issues, purpose of visit, family ties in canada and nigeria.

To all in the trend: i need your input, if there is any need applying again cos i dont even know where to start tackling these issues. honestly i am tired and frustrated. i have spent a lot of money on US and canada
Bro, the reasons for the denial are enormous. You are already a marked person by the Canadian and US Embassy and you are likely to be denied again by these countries. Why I will advise you look towards Europe this time

Na like this una take dey confuse people.
Who told you Germany is easier to gain admission in ?
In fact, it is even difficult than Canada.
1. You need IELTS just as Canada
2. You need to learn the language to a certain level.
3. There is a huge competition because of the free education system. Lots and lots of people apply and you need concrete application documents (strong SOP etc).
4. The VISA is hard to acquire at the Embassy. They even have an Interview System
5. You need to even have about 2million naira to deposit to your German account before Visa acquisition.
And who told you there aren't "great" Engineering schools in Canada and that the economy isn't "Robust"?

Regardless of whatever reasons you've listed and that you're going to list, it's easier for you to Integrate in the Canadian society than the German's. Trust me, it's not even safe in some cities in Germany.
Sorry to say- you are not well inform about Germany....

Admission is easier in Germany because with 2.2 and a good motivation letter you can get admission for a masters program in Deutschland.... A female friend of mine just got admission to study MSc international business in Berlin with a 2.84 CGPA.. Is this obtainable in Canada??

1) My friend didn't write IELTS before she gain admission. Most schools has it that if English is ur official language in ur home country, you don't need to document English language proficiency (which Nigeria is)

2) Lolzzz..... This is utter rubbish! You don't need to learn German language to gain admission or be granted study visa when ur program is being taught in English. Some BSc program are taught entirely in English while most MSc programs are tutored in English. GET UR FACTS WRITE

3) No one should be surprised.. How many countries in the world offers free and quality education at all levels to every human being on planet earth. You don't pay application fee sef. Only Norway and Germany offers absolute free education to everyone.... Canada doesn't even offer free education to her own citizens. With a good and passionate SOP, averagely good grades, applying to so many schools as possible. Ur admission is near certainty.

4) Oga German study visa is relatively easier to obtain. With genuine documents. To me the interview system offers one an interactive opportunity to better explain ur intentions. Some people are more articulate in verbal explanation. If ur documents are genuine, you respond well to the questions and fulfill the visa requirements ur visa is certain. Nothing like "home tie in country of residence and Canada" and people get denied because of these.. Smh... Many of my friends tried to no avial to obtain Canadian study visa but as I type a handful of them are in Deutschland now studying and working.. Making madt cash.

5) It is actually €8000(annual living expenses) If you get admission the embassy will open a German block account for you to fund it with the said amount. No hassle to be running helter skelter looking for sponsors.. They said money is still ur cash. You can even borrow it and when u get to Germany u can be remitting back bit by bit.. No need to provide bank statement and all the bla bla sponsors documents. Just open an account. Fund it with €8000 and that's all.

Read well Mr. There's nowhere I wrote that, they aren't great engineering schools in Canada.. I didn't even state one is better than the other in engineering discipline. Canadian economy is not as robust, innovative and efficient as the German economy. Germany has a more innovative, diverse, technology savvy, stronger economy than Canada #Fact
Canada has been in recession for sometime now where as Germany has been one of the best performing economy in the world for sometime now. #fact

I like Canada. Two of my siblings are studying there as I write . It is a beautiful country with world class education system and universities. But Germany provides a viable alternative to Canada

Excellent advice. Germany is an excellent backup plan. Don't know if I agree with your arguments about Germany being better, especially as you ultimately will need to learn a new language (tho a lot of their MSc programs are in English) as opposed to Canada where integration would be easier. Yet, I wholeheartedly agree with you that it is an excellent second choice to Canada because of its excellent economy, fantastic engineering tradition, ease of staying after school, and more.
I concur with you bro.... However, Germany arguably has the best integration mechanism in the world.. They offer free German language lessons to all immigrants(not only refugees) . So if anyone is serious about integration, within a year the person's German language ability should be near native level

Guy enta Germany. Easier admission. Easier to obtain visa. Free tuition. Engineering hub of the world. More technologically advance than Canada and more engineering savvy than Canada. Great engineering schools. More robust economy than Canada. Biggest economy in the Europe . You can also transition to work permit after studies. Better wages than Canada etc

I am single obviously with no kids. what else could i add?. Thank you. Plus no school would give me a Msc admission coz of my third class Bsc. hence i chose a PGC. isn't that a valid reason? thou i did not state this phrase in my soa
When they say home tie, they mean a viable pull factor in ur home country. Something that will dissuade you from remaining in Canada after ur studies. Sadly, ur assets and dad assets, Nigerian identity documents are not pull factors. People without even bicycle in Nigeria have had successful visa application. Anyone can remain in Canada even with assets in Nigeria.. Viable home tie can be a family back home to return to, a good job prospects waiting for him/her in home country etc.

Jobs/VacanciesIllegal And Nepotistic CBN Recruitment. Nigeria Is Beyond Repair. by Bandeco(op): 1:51pm On Mar 15, 2016
SaharaReporters has obtained a list of at least 91 people tied to influential or highly placed Nigerians who were recently offered juicy appointments by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in a hiring process that was highly secretive. The list of beneficiaries of the CBN’s job largesse include a daughter of former Vice President Abubakar Atiku, a son of Mamman Daura, a nephew of President Muhammadu Buhari and one of the closest members of the president’s inner circle, a son of the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, a daughter of former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Na’aba, also daughter of of the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, a since of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Abdurahman Danbazzau and at least 86 others.

The highly controversial recruitment, seen as peddling of influence, first came to light a few weeks ago, but SaharaReporters just exclusively obtained the names of the beneficiaries.

The leaking of the irregular hires by the CBN caused significant embarrassment for the government and the bank. The CBN’s Director of Human Resources, Chizoba Mojekwu, was reportedly redeployed as the bank’s Director of Capacity Development and IT after CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, accused her of being behind the leaking of the list.

However, a top official of the CBN told our correspondent that Mr. Emefiele had arranged the hiring of relatives of top party leaders and powerful government officials as a strategy for saving his job.

Even though the list obtained by SaharaReporters has 91 names, our sources at the CBN disclosed that the CBN Governor had started the practice of using job offers to woo top government officials since Mr. Buhari came into power on May 29, 2015. One source revealed that, in September 2015, Mr. Emefiele had hired Claire Arase, a daughter of Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase.

SaharaReporters learnt that the CBN often went to great lengths, including tweaking the names of recruits, in order to hide the identities of beneficiaries of politically motivated recruitment. Often the CBN used the beneficiaries’ first names and their father’s middle names to hide their real identities. For instance, the bank listed Maryam Atiku as “Maryam Abubakar.” In another case, the bank entered the name of the son of Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, as “Nagode Abdulrahman.” In other instances, the bank used the maiden names of hired persons instead of their married names.

The recruitments are deemed irregular because the CBN failed to advertise the vacancies in order to allow opportunities to all qualified Nigerians to apply for the jobs. In addition, the bank’s “political” recruitments did not follow principles of federal character set out for employment by government agencies and other public institutions. “Jobs were just handed to the children of ministers in the current administration,” one bank official stated. The source added that many of the new hires were asked to pick their department of choice after their irregular employment was concluded.

Below is the full list of 91 people illegally hired by the CBN:

but it is stated on their website that u must have a minimum balance of ur first year tuition fees + 10000 feeding and room plus 3000 transport fare
U seem not to get the gist. angry... Is the 3million naira ur personal fund? Is it in your personal account? Let's assume ur total study expenses is 3million naira for a year and ur sponsor decide to transfer this 3million into ur account to show some committment of sponsoring.. After transferring this said amount to ur account, her account balance will be N0. 00. If she shows a zero account balance statement of account to the VO, do you think the VO will issue you visa? Of course Not because, the VO isn't stupid to believe that someone will ground her account to zero balance just to train you in Canada.. Does it make economic sense.

Just know that if you submit a sponsors account with 3million as closing balance(which is likely below ur yearly expenses), there a very high chance that you will be denied base on insufficient funds.. That 3million naira is way too small
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by Bandeco(m): 11:59am On Mar 11, 2016
adebayoolatunji:
yes. She has a company registered in her name..do u mean 3million is not sufficient fund to show the VO that she is capable to sponsor me after paying my tuition fees...
It depends... I guess ur yearly school fees and living expenses will be above 3million... If you have paid school fees then you can convince the VO with 3million. Otherwise I will advise ur sponsor to try as much as she can to top up the account to let say 5 to 6million even by borrowing. The VOs find it hard to believe that someone will deplete all his/her savings to fund ur education in Canada .. Visa authorities work with logic.. They don't know you so they access ur case base on logic..

In trying to build the account she should avoid lump sum... If you are going for September intake, you still got like 2months to fine-tune ur application...

Ps- my position is not static.. I know situation do change and people has offered testimony of successful application with such amount in SOA... But am saying this base on experience.. Overall prayer is key

I wish you good luck in your application..

yes it has a good cash inflow and outflow
Can she document the source of funds?? Soa is not enough if it is accompanied by the source of the income eg employment letter, pay slip, employer's reference letter etc OR business registration documents and turn over.. These are important because the vo need to be sure that the sponsor has a steady flow of income even after sponsoring you, he/she will still get along with other financial obligations
