Politics / Re: Breaking News: Ovie Omoagege Is the one Using PDP to Stop Buhari NDDC Budget by bangbangall: 5:09pm On Nov 28, 2019
Aljmusa300:
There is outrage by APC members in Delta State against the Deputy Senate president for sponsoring PDP members in the senate and the media to kick against the NDDC budget presented by Mr. President to the senate . The deputy senate president Ovie Omoagege who solely nominated a PDP member Mr. Benard Okumagba for the position of MD NDDC against the wish of the generality of Delta APC members is planning to contest the governorship of the state under PDP in 2023. He nominated the PDP member for the purpose of amassing fund for the prosecution of his 2023 governorship election. The forrensic audit ordered by the president is threatening his plans to use NDDC to siphon money for his governorship ambition. He was said to have picked a PDP chieftain known as Ejele as running mate. In his desperation to get the board inaugurated, he has hired the factional president of Ijaw Youth Council Mr. Eric Omare to continually rain insult on the president. He has equally hired some PDP senators to frustrate the NDDC budget submitted by the president. The entire members of Delta APC are very happy with the forrensic audit ordered by the president. There is serious tension in Delta APC as at the time of filling this report. The situation is agravated by the deliberate omition of key party leaders in the invitation sent out for the South south APC caucus meeting scheduled to hold by 5pm today in Abuja.

Politics / Re: Obaseki’s Reforms, Oshiomhole, APC And Warnings Ahead Of 2020 By Alilebby by bangbangall: 5:03pm On Nov 28, 2019
AgamaProf:
People keep saying obaseki has done alot but Benin remains one of the worst cities(not even a city to me) in Nigeria. To me, Oshiomole did very well compared to obaseki. Name the things obaseki has done since coming to power. They told us he created jobs, but na audio jobs. They told us he is maintaining the roads, but any time rain falls you will hate being in Benin. Power issue is worse, no jobs in Benin...i can go on and on. I think Benin people are being sentimental... they only want their son in power for 2 tenures. Who knew obaseki if not for oshiomole that brought him to limelight. I remember vividly how ize-iyamu would have won if not for oshiomole. You cannot take away who oshiomole is, he has always been like that since labour union days.

IF NOT FOR OBASEKI ABD OTHERS OSHIOMOLE WOULDN'T HAVE BECOME THE GOVERNOR OF EDO STATE.
PEOPLE FROM EDO CENTRAL (ESAN PEOPLE) WANT OBASEKI TO COMPLETE HIS 8YEARS SO THAT POWER CAN COME TO THEIR SIDE.

Politics / Re: Buhari Says He Won't Accept Underperformance From APC Governors by bangbangall: 4:34pm On Nov 25, 2019
nairapark:
President Muhammadu Buhari says that he will not accept underperformance from any All Progressives Congress
(APC) Governor, following the overwhelming victory of the party at the 2019 General Elections.

He urged the Governors to channel resources and initiatives to what will benefit Nigerian citizens.

Buhari made the remarks in Jos on Monday while declaring open the third Federal Government/Progressives Governors Forum’s parley on “Strenthening Public Service Delivery” hosted by Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong.

“Early in 2019, Nigeria overwhelmingly re-elected me as President. That election was a referendum on not just my leadership but also on our party. Some State Governors were re-elected while new ones also came on board,” Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF) Boss Mustapha stated, delivering the President’s message.

“To whom much is given, much more is expected. It is therefore incumbent on this to meet the expectations of our teeming population. There should be no room for excuses and that is where the outcome of this parley becomes very critical.”

The President mentioned that insecurity has remained a major obstacle of his administration but expressed strong determination to overcome the challenge and secure the country.

He reiterated the protection of lives and property as the primary resposibility of government and called on citizens to be active participants in security matters.

Buhari said the APC government will do everything to sustain the country’s economic recovery efforts and reinforce the microeconomic policies to achieve sustainable economic stability in the country.

Plateau State Governor and Chairman of the Northern Governor’s Forum Simon Lalong said despite the challenges facing the country, the APC has recorded tremendous progress in reshaping the economy, rebuilding infrastructure, creating jobs and improving security of of lives and prosperity.

“We must admit that there is still more work to be done considering the level of decay we inherited in our various states. That is why we have commended Mr President for leading the way in the determination to deliver change and take Nigeria to the next level,” Lalong stated.

Chairman of the Progressives Governors and Governor of Kebbi State Abubakar Atiku Bagudu appreciated those who led the campaign that culminated to the re-election of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State and the victory of David Lyon of Bayelsa State as Governor-elect, victories which brought the number of the APC Governors to 20.

He said that the Federal Government under President Muhammadu Buhari has brought crucial intervention to the states which has enabled them pay salaries and pensions, and has expended N23 billion to states ravaged by floods.

Bagudu expressed pleasure over the Buhari administration’s zero-oil policy, a policy which he said has compelled most state Governors to look inward for domestic revenue sources in order to become economically sustainable.

Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Adams Oshomhole, on his part, said Nigerians must support the Federal Government’s policy on the closure of Nigeria’s land borders, a move which according to him has curtailed the infiltration of fake products into the country.

He urged the APC Governors to partner with the party leadership to make the party a strong and a formidable institution in the country.

The panel of discussants at the event included Governor Kayode Fayemi, Ekiti; Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, Kebbi; Godwin Obasake, Edo; Alh. Abdullahi Sani Bello, Nasarawa; Nasiru El-Rufai, Kaduna, Mohammed Badaru, Jigawa while Kogi and Gombe State Governors were represented by their deputies

Let him show 3-0 sign, Edo people are waiting. I believed that so many people are happy with Obaseki policy most especially for not handling Edo state to thugs unlike Oshiomole. Next year election is going to start from Oba palace. Obaseki by the grace of God will complete his 8years tenure so that power can move to Edo central.

Politics / Re: FG moves to revive Enugu coal mines by bangbangall: 6:32pm On Nov 22, 2019
OEPHIUS:
…As minister embarks on fact-finding mission to sites

The Minister of State, Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, has disclosed the readiness of the federal government to revive the coal mines in Enugu State to contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of the country as well as the state.

Addressing newsmen after a meeting with Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi at the Government House, Enugu, on Friday, Dr. Ogah, who came with a delegation from the ministry, stated that they are in Enugu on a fact-finding mission with regard to “what is already on ground, what the federal government has done and what we can do to revive the coal mines in Enugu State so that they can help grow the economy and generate jobs”.

The minister disclosed that the step was in line with the vision of the President Muhammadu Buhari to pull “over one million people out of poverty”, stressing that “we believe that mining sector is one of the key areas that can be used to do that”.

Commending Gov. Ugwuanyi for his administration steadfastness and collaboration with the federal government towards the resuscitation of coal mines in the state, Dr. Ogah pointed out that “Enugu State stands in a right pedestal to be one of the key states that will be used for this purpose”.

He added that the federal government is determined to address the challenges hindering the full operation of coal mining in Enugu State so that every royalty due to it and the state is realized.

“We thank God for the partnership we are having today with the state government to curb illegal mining and other factors hindering progress. The governor has promised there will be stronger collaboration between the state and the federal government to see how illegal mining will be curbed in the state”, the minister said.

Politics / Re: Senate Okays 7.5% VAT And 6 Other Tax Hikes by bangbangall: 2:11pm On Nov 21, 2019
Omooba77:
The Senate on Thursday passed the Finance Bill which seeks to amend seven Acts of the National Assembly relating to taxes payable in the country.

The bill specifically seeks an increment of the value-added tax from five per cent to 7.5 per cent.

It also seeks an increment in the Companies Income tax, Customs and excise, Petroleum Profit Tax, Stamp duties, personal income tax and Capital Income tax.

The Minority Leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe, and Senators Ifeanyi Ubah, Gabriel Suswan and Abba Moro, however, raised objections to the bill.

They said the increment in taxes would further compound the sufferings and pains of Nigerians.

Nigerians are already missing Saraki.

APC supporters will still suffer it like others.

They are here to increase VAT with their useless and senseless excuses but they have money to buy vote and embezzle.

http://www.titopeblog.com/2019/11/agian-gov-wike-declares-rivers.html

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has again declared the State as a Christian State, adding that he owes no one any apology.

The Governor spoke at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Holy Ghost Rally, which held at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium on Sunday.

He said, “But for God, the enemies would have taken over the state. I thank the Church for standing firm.

“They prayed for God’s will to be done and God’s will was done. But for your prayers, I won’t be here as Rivers State Governor.

“Anytime I have the opportunity, I repeat the declaration with authority and I owe nobody an apology. I am standing on solid authority. Rivers is a Christian state.”

Wike said he remained Governor due to God’s intervention.

He said God dislodged “forces of darkness” who were primed to rob him of his mandate.

He described himself as a living testimony of God’s blessing.

“Nigerians are aware of what happened on 9th March 2019. If anyone says he does not believe in God, that event of March 9 should make you believe God,” he added.
