RomanceRe: Can You Marry A Prostitute ? by banni: 11:53am On May 13, 2008
Ok in Nigeria we seems to define prostitute by many ways.
1)Someone who openly stands around and states the price before sleeping with you(the true prostitute). There is a 99% chance i will not marry her.Even if I find out it was down to situation I probably will not since in Nigeria worst you can go to your village and farm and survive. The social stigma will be way too much espically if family members find out it will be terrible.
2)Someone who moved around rich men and got gifts and money .This is actually still prostitution but less open.Again not very likely i will marry her but i might consider it if i feel her lust for money has been removed .Otherwise if i can not meet her money demands she will relapse very quickly
3)Girl who was very sexually active but for fun .I can marry this one without much thought but i will probably keep an eye on her.Chances are she will not sway because she has experienced it all but she has to make sure i don't have embarrasing moments like been with my brother and some dude comes and tells us he is her ex lover .I know some girls will say that is been harsh but you reap what you sow ,so its your problem to deal with.Just like its my problem if the reverse happens.
FamilyRe: How to Deal With a Wife That Nags a Lot by banni: 11:30am On May 13, 2008
I seen men who stay for the sake of the children or because they do not believe in divorce.
I seen family members do this even.
And it ages them fast. They live in a hell on earth and feel trapped.
I think if I could not make it work for years then i will leave.
I don't care what the any religion ,priest or anyone says.I cannot think God will want me to live in such a way.
And how can the children be happy too when they see this everyday?

EventsRe: How Necessary Are Big Weddings? by banni(op): 4:05am On May 13, 2008
Another thing that amazes me is that it causes tension too.
So often on one hand you have the girl wanting and insisting on big wedding and the man just getting annoyed and just going along with it.
This creates tension because the man starts feeling that how the marriage starts is how it will always be for the rest of their lives.
Best quote i seen was from a girl was this "i want to marry a man with as simple arrangement, stress and spending .Just a happy day for the 2 of us because thats how i want the rest of our lives to be".
Thats a quote from a Igbo girl for all of you who think that Igbo girls will only have big marriages!

Carlosein:
and who do you think will be responsible for the divorce?
The couple ofc.Whether they are muslims, catholic,or whatever .It falls soleyl to the couple to decide if they want to marry and if its fails its their fault entirely.
A priest who chats to them for a few hours and barely knows them certainly is not in a position to judge at all.

Christianity EtcRe: The (so Called) Deleted Books Of The Bible by banni: 4:40pm On Apr 30, 2008
When the bible as we know it was complied it is generally believed a lot of manuscripts were left out as it would cause conflict with some teachings and was done in an attempt to try unify the faith.
Here is a list believed to be missing .Some are due to just been destroyed even before the king james bible was even compiled ,some destroyed at THIS point and some just stacked away and not included.
http://www.thelostbooks.com/list.htm

Here is probably one of the most contrevsial ones which seems to point to mary magdelen been a possible apostle of Christ rather then just a saved prostitute

Marriage na the only institution wey them dey issue you certificate before you actually start the learning process, spending so much money on a school you are not sure of the end product is sure an unwise move, I stand with low budget wedding ceremonies jo! I hail una!!
Good point. But even if somehow you feel sure its still a waste of money.
We have our own traditional wedding and then church wedding. But also we adopted another English man culture which is the reception.
Unlike the Englishman who a large wedding is 50 people ,ours is 500+ easily. And since we use open venues it means every privates and harry can stroll in and demand food and drink.
Another problem is some girls .They will say how much they love the man and everything and want to make things simple and easy for them and then go tell him he MUST bring 1m naira + for a wedding!

In this day and age, Christians, who believe in God, still believe in Juju and all such things? huh
I agree totally.Nigerians answer to problem is that juju do am or someone want to curse them.

Instead make they go look at all the rampant PID which full their body from previous numerous sex encounters and rubbsih D&C first.

now let talk about marriage in catholic is it true that catholic don't allow the ladies to marry other christian from another church plz advise
This is not true and infact you can get special permission to marry an outsider. This is actually not very hard to get at all.

But families use marriage to convert followers .And then claim my daughter converted her husband.

This is actually a very bad practise which nowadays European Catholic priests strongly discourage because of the aftermath.

Lets face it this is almost a shotgun conversion .There is no way at all the man or woman who converted will take the religion seriously at all.If he was even ever thinking of becoming a proper catholic that is now totally gone as he will think this religion is nothing more then one that forces people to convert using their love for their partner.

It is time Nigerian Catholic Priests become more open and let the procedure for marrying outsiders be way easier .In time the man will probably come to church for the sake of the children and might like the Catholic Church.

But making it hard will make the man draw away from the religion the minute the wedding is over.I know of one chap who refused to go to the sunday mass the next day after his wedding because he felt pushed to join the church and never stepped foot again in a catholic church.

Have to wonder how she can say she had good sex with her father.

Alone the repulsion should make the sex bad and it was not. Also she is still going at it after 5 abortions and 30 years old.

This makes me wonder if she wants to stop it .At 30 she should be wise enough to know the implications and is already an adult who can say NO.

FamilyRe: Would You Marry A Girl Who Earns Twice Your Salary? by banni: 3:47pm On Mar 04, 2008
Those who say no have an complex problem and those girls who say no are stuck are women who just want even more money.

There is nothing wrong with it at all as long as the man is bringing his share home.Grow into the 21st century .Even those posting they are abroad makes me think if they live in those places or even worse live there and are stuck all aone in their flat to see the outside world.

Its coming more common now then ever.Main thing is the man is making an effort is all that matters.

so that they will not go and start begging after big elaborated wedding because a story about one of my friend wey wan wed dey don buy wdding gown already but he still need money for some other things so he went to his boss and tell him that they have bought everything remaining money for wedding gown na so his boss just enter house give him his wife's wedding gown which is not even useful for that my friend, (what a funny act) just cut your coat according 2 your size jareeeeeeeee eyin temi no long thing!!!!!!!!!!!

oro ni yen ohhhhhhh soki lobe oge
same na ni gbogbo
we could use more females like you.Even couples who can afford it certainly should have a life after the ceremony? Why should they come out with nothing but a few electricals and loads of plastics and nothing in the pocket?

Think girls espically!Would you rather finish your ceremony and then go look for land to build your house or take those millions and spent it in a few hours?

Don't let the wedding industry influence you. This people make money from making you think a big wedding is important.
RomanceRe: Is It Advisable To Keep Your Ex-lover As Friend? by banni: 4:50pm On Mar 01, 2008
wavemasta:
This is quite a nice topic, because I'm glad to see am not the only one who thinks having exes around you is a bad idea.
Most of the people saying yes, its ok seem to be ladies. Look, stop deceiving urselves. If u guys used to be intimate, and the other party knws all your vulnerabilities you would simply just fall, its just about waiting for the right moment. Me, once I leave an intimate relationship, thats it, if we meet on the road, its hello and hi, not me calling u and finding out about your issues, n getting close and all that. I'm only friends with 2 exes and thats cus nuthin went down, so Its ok, for the others, no!!
And like people have rightly said, if ure in a relationship, and its realli based on love, cmon, the other party wont be comfortable with u still being friends
with your ex. We men like to hide our feelings under "maturity", but it just festers inside till it blows up. Is it worth it? Is it worth holding on to something in the past?
Sometimes u gotta depart to arrive, u cannot run foward n look backwards at the same time.
Oh @octopus, nothing personal, but I don't think your hubby would be happy if he found out u kept things from him,
Leave the past, "just friends" wont work, esp if u want a good relationship in your present , forget saying "Dont u trust me", things can happen u didnt plan, so fashie that.
Cheers!
You have a good point.Indeed most saying its ok are women and also mostly women do this .Maybe its a way to prove their current boyfriend how desirable they are.

The men I know who do it call it "back up"and I will be frank with you I don't know a single guy who in his mind wants to be just "friends"

So really how would women feel if a girl keeps calling their manw ith a hidden agenda of having sex or stealing him?

So many people in the world why on earth will you want to cause friction with your current man.If he says its ok can you not at least read his feelings and see it is not?

Experienced people are less likely though to run find another woman to see if its sweeter grin
PoliticsRe: When Will The British Apologise To Africa(nigeria) by banni: 6:18pm On Feb 29, 2008
UK has a lot to answer for.

Their divide and rule has caused the deaths and hardships of many millions which till today persist. They ensure warring tribes were kept together in a nation and same tribes divided over different nations.

The kurds are a large tribe yet they have no homeland and were kept together with rival tribes.

It amazes me that now they see Iraq as a lawless land which they help create and then invaded with the americans and made it more lawless now.

The yorubas were divided also .The list goes on and on.

FamilyRe: I Am A Single Parent And: by banni: 5:46pm On Feb 29, 2008
Ok eventually you have to come clean with your parents.

Remember they think you have a fiancee abroad and this is why they might have accepted the situation quickly .Because they feel you are engaged and will be marrying him.

Eventually you either have to tell another lie or come out clean on this with them.

Its clear the guy will not accept the child so if you are looking for child support be ready to take him to court and ask for a DNA test .

Also remember there are nice guys out there and some willing to accept a child which is not theirs .So don't give up on men!

Take courage it will all work out .
