Politics / Is What Happened In Tunisia A New Dawn In African Politics? by Bariga1(f): 8:37am On Jan 18, 2011
After what happened in Tunisia it is just a matter of time before it spreads to the rest of the African continent where we have rulers imposed on the masses. It is time for Africans to take their destiny in their hands and stop waiting for God.
Politics / Re: Jonathan Outbids Atiku ! by Bariga1(f): 2:30pm On Jan 13, 2011
I have said it and will continue to say: we need nothing short of a Rawlings approach to getting all the “dead wood” out of politics.

Things are going from bad to worse. POLITICS is the only means to being rich at the moment in Nigeria.

Are we really ready for democracy? because what we are currently practicing is demonstration of craziness.

GEJ might have been a good choice but he is too busy trying to clinch power. Also too many people placed him in power which he needs to please.

Nigeria needs help:  military where are you?
Politics / Re: Jonathan Appoints Former Governor Diepreye Alamieyeseigha To Fg Committee by Bariga1(f): 4:38pm On Jun 30, 2010
Nigerians are most stupid and gullible people on earth(just tell them God is in control).

We are good at talking but it stops at that. Sad and very sad at this. We write big English that even the owner of the language do not use.

We never speak with one voice as a result these bastards take undue advantage to rob us silly. We know the problem let us speak with one voice (starting point) and we can then decide the way forward.

You said wait and see? See what? See how bad things can get before people decide to stand up to these bandits?

Either young military boys with a vision come in and kill all these guys or we get colonised again by the white man, with the current state of the country they will not be interested even. (nothing can be worse then what is going on).

I speak with anger because I am on ground seeing these crazy lot over here and everyone saying God will save us!!!
Politics / Re: Three Signs That Goodluck Jonathan Is Politically Naive by Bariga1(f): 1:47pm On Jun 29, 2010
These are issues that should not be discussed in the first place. We need to be more constructive in what we write about.

The bone of contention for all reasonable Nigerians should be: can Jonathan better the plight of the average Nigerian? Can he tackle the problem of corruption which is crippling the society as a whole. Does he have plans to tackle the level of lawlessness pervading the country within the police, house of senate and all public sectors.

My spontaneous answer is No he does not have a clue about what to do. Jonathan is part of the problem and not the solution.

Is Nigeria getting better or worse? Show me one area in the economy that this man has being able to impact on? (if you have not come to Nigerian in the past one year please do not comment).

We need some young-blood with focus, a vision and ready to weep people back into shape. If things continue the way they are, Somalia will be a better place than Nigeria very soon.

I do not care whether Ibo, Yoruba or Hausa anyone who can bring about positive change we need urgently these lot are time wasters only there for what they can get.

Our elders have failed us BIGTIME!!!

blocked b/c he is not singing praise songs to Yaradua? you guys always do?

every man has a right to express his views as long as they are reasonable. All the seven reasons given by this person seems possible in the Nigeria of today.

even the time when he actually died could not be confirmed, what is to say that he was not dead weeks ago, but b/c wife and fmaily still packing money from villa they never mentioned it.

I hope more leaders who fail to do the right thing for their community die in even more painful death.
Politics / Re: Top 7 Reasons Why Yarádua Was Declared Dead. by Bariga1(f): 11:44am On May 07, 2010
Let the dead look after the dead !!!

This was a man who spent Nigerian money on medical bills while the common men where dying daily and you say: may his soul rest in peace? which Peace?

even those paying where notb informed of his progress, country pays your medical bills but you can not even tell the country whether you are getting better or worse?

what did he do for the common man in Nigeria? what became of his seven point agenda?

Not my business that the man is a good person.

He was elected (imposed on us ) to help change the country, which he never achieved.

So he was a failure. end of story

Hope the next man learns from what happens to this one that noone rules for ever and chose the right people around you.

Hello Beaf,

Definitely you think alike, losers always think alike!!!

This “bulldog approach” has not worked for you or your people in ND. The way you write depict your age and reasoning.

I weep for ND if these are some of their educated elites in the western world.

I am in Nigeria currently playing my little part to help re-build the country. Beaf what have you ever done in your life? Apart from arm-chair unproductive write-up?
Politics / Re: You Are Nigerias Biggest Problem by Bariga1(f): 3:11pm On Mar 11, 2010
Is it not easier to say “shut-up” than to give a constructive answer?
Beaf you are part of the problem and not the solution to ND problems, your people will continue to suffer as long as people like you without brain parade themselves as representatives of the ND people.
Politics / Re: You Are Nigerias Biggest Problem by Bariga1(f): 2:58pm On Mar 11, 2010
Beaf,

Two wrongs never make a right. Everyone will agree with you that ND issue needs to be addressed and the people who come from that area have a right to use every “reasonable means” to achieve their dream. They have being short-changed by the government and their leaders.

International law recognises that arms can be used to achieve ones struggle when oppressed. Such as in the case of Northern Ireland, but my concern is that those boys in the creeks are not fighting for the common good of ND, but for their pocket and those sponsoring them. They need to start the fight from within, with their governors and commissioners, asking them to account for the allocation received monthly.

In law they say “he who comes to equity comes with clean hands” can a corrupt group/ gang ask another group to stop being corrupt? You know the answer.

Nigerian government has blatantly failed the ND people, but the people have also failed themselves in terms of fighting for the common good. Councillors and chairmen within ND drive around with the latest cars.

You own the resources that feeds the nation, but have failed woefully in organising yourselves to enjoy the benefits of these resources.

Guys sit down and re-plan your strategy, the current strategy is making a few people very rich. Enough said.
Politics / Re: Dipo Dina Shot Dead In Ogun State by Bariga1(f): 3:05pm On Jan 27, 2010
Hello,

Let us educate each other and stop calling God to catch the killer/s, because God will not come down to catch the killer/s and the Nigerian Police Force (for all it is worth) will not make any realistic breakthrough regarding catching the killer/s. History tells us this.

Only way forward is for people in Ogun State to vote for AC in mass as a sign of rejection of the PDP. Anyone planning in future to go down such root will think twice when they see the outcome at the next elections.

Speak to your people back home enlighten them about the dangers of waiting for God to come and clean-up Nigeria.

Show me one country where God has come down to help??

We have being insulted and made an object of ridicule by the president and his cronies in power.

Nigerians are good at talking and writing but very little physical action to show their detest.

I hope the military- boys are watching developments.

Is democracy really the way forward in Nigeria? Or is it just an alien-body which has being dumped on us by the white man?
Politics / Re: Ribadu, Fashola Tipped As Running Mate Buhari Now Set To Endorse by Bariga1(f): 4:52pm On Dec 08, 2009
You are right Ribadu will never be President, but the suffering will continue for your family and mine until we realise our grave mistakes of not all speaking with one voice due to regional, ethnic and tribal differences.

What does the future hold for Nigeria if twenty people cannot agree on something so obvious as this? We then we expect 150 million people to reach a decision on our next leader? We do not even stand a chance of developing !!!
Politics / Re: Ribadu, Fashola Tipped As Running Mate Buhari Now Set To Endorse by Bariga1(f): 4:44pm On Dec 08, 2009
Depilot,

I will prefer that you give specific reasons why Ribadu should not be president. There might be something cogent that you know that I am missing!!!

Please tell me another person that has confronted corruption like this man did? Regardless of his shortcomings.

What more do we need if corruption is brought to the barest minimum in Nigeria?

Are Nigerian just destined to suffer for life because we cannot analyse issue constructively?

I am losing hope that there is hope for this country!!!
Politics / Re: Ribadu, Fashola Tipped As Running Mate Buhari Now Set To Endorse by Bariga1(f): 4:20pm On Dec 08, 2009
I am not interested in which tribe our leader comes from as long as they can deliver.

The two names mentioned above have excelled in their various positions of authority. The Question is: did Ribadu arrest corrupt politicians? and the answer is yes. Forget the rest, even in UK there is not 100% success rate, secondly did he have the resources to arrest every corrupt politician?

Can people please think before they write. What can be worse than “Baba go-slow” that we currently have? Even budget he cannot read the content.

Please note: education differs from enlightenment. It is blatantly clear that most people posting are educated but not enlightened. I stand to be corrected!!!
Politics / Re: Nigerians Watch Out, Northerners May Kill Goodluck Jonathan If Yaradua Dies. by Bariga1(f): 12:03pm On Dec 03, 2009
Young man,

Leave the Northerners alone and “clean your own home” there is an adage that states that if the fence does not have cracks the lizard cannot intrude into it. We are divided, as a result the northerners might be taking advantage of it, but who will teach the stupid if not the wise?

You asserted that their might be a plot to kill Goodluck Jonathan, but how will that affect the price of Gari? What has he done since in power? I know the next thing that would be said is that: he is not given a chance!!!! So does he not resign and state why to his people than be a figure-head. I think they should both die!!!

We need someone with vision and these two obliviously do not have it
Nairaland / General / Re: CNN: Hospitalised Nigerian President (Umaru Yar'adua) Not Stepping Down. by Bariga1(f): 5:45pm On Nov 27, 2009
Spyker,

You are entitled to your own opinion, but please!!!

Give me one reason why the current president should continue, taking into consideration his ill health? Let us be clear about the fact that presidency is not about laying on your sick bed and giving orders.

Remember that if he dies the vice president should step into his shoes, but do you think they will allow this? Even if the vice president takes over, is he any better? Can he bring the drastic change needed to change peoples/politicians thinking that there is nothing like a “free lunch”?

We need to stop waiting for God, stop hoping and do something.

The average Nigerian is not ready for a revolution to change the ugly state of things, so the next best thing at our disposal is for the military to help us. But it should be clearly stated that we need some young radical boys with a vision.

What has democracy done for us? Apart from enriching a few politicians and their affiliates?

I rest my case!!!
Nairaland / General / Re: CNN: Hospitalised Nigerian President (Umaru Yar'adua) Not Stepping Down. by Bariga1(f): 1:43pm On Nov 27, 2009
Why should he step down when it is his birth right? Remember that he still wants to go for the second round 2011. The man does not have what it takes to lead Nigeria, With all due respect.

But what are the options

I will strongly suggest that we need nothing short of some young military officers with “a vision” coming back to power for two year in which they will restore law and order within government and politics. Some people need to be dead before this country can move forward and only the military can do this.

Urgent situations deserve urgent measures.

Beer-parlour talk on Nairaland will take us nowhere!!!

Beaf,

Is it that they irritate or the truth irritates you guys living back home in Nigeria?

It is amazing how less than 300,000 corrupt politicians and ex-military officers can hold the country hostage, when we have a population of over 150 million.

Just shows the level of greed pervading our country. People are happy to keep silent as long as they are picking the crumbs from the table.

Change will come with a big bang!!! Watch out!!!!

Politics / Re: MEND Say No More Ceasefire: by Bariga1(f): 7:51am On Oct 17, 2009
Beaf,

Firstly I am from Lagos state and we do not produce oil but rather have our head screwed-on right and we are constantly looking for ways of improving and selling services to the world. I am happy to give you a free ticket to come over to Lagos for one day to see how things have started to change for the better (please adopt the same policy –stop waiting for government and do something for yourself).

Beaf, I have already started to educate my immediate family about asking questions from their political leaders and it is yielding results, as we can all see Lagos is changing for the better and I pray one day that you can discard this perverse idea that Mend will help you “live the dream”. Otherwise the suffering in ND has just start and it will get worse.

The government has their own share of the blame about some of the problems in ND, but the major share of the problems falls on your traditional leaders and political leaders (also people like you who preach hate words among Nigerians)

You might have a point about the fact that ND produces oil which sustains some other states, but what is the argument here:

is it that producing states should keep the revenue they make from oil or that producing states are not developed?

If the question is the first, then the answer is that ND will never have control over resources (and even if you were given you can not manage the resources with people like you, rather your country will become Somalia. Even it will be a free for all fight). If the argument is about development then speak to your political leaders/elders who have failed you and your family.

Beaf what have you ever done to help ND grow? Apart from talking about the problems and castigating government – young man go back home and put your house in order before you start to talking.

I am sorry to say it, but you are part of the problem and not the solution. You have nothing constructive to offer your people rather the easy exist of war/Mend.

Development comes from within not from destruction!!!!
Politics / Re: MEND Say No More Ceasefire: by Bariga1(f): 3:37pm On Oct 16, 2009
Hello Beaf,

I think the problem here is so much anger in you and need someone to vent it at. I have now passed that stage in my struggle and have now decided to take the “bull by the horn”. I think it is a waist of time waiting for government to “wave the magic wonder”.

Beaf, where is Abacha? And where is Ibori? Let us move-on and stop “throwing toys out of the pram”.

Elections were not free and fear, but do not forget the vital point: Abacha never came down to rig the elections in ND, someone on ground did his dirty work for him and nothing is said about that person(s), that person(s) live among your community, drive the best cars and they are worshipped by their neighbours b/c of greed.

I know if I ask you the allocation received by your local government you will go silent on me, you will not know and do not bother because you have no interest. Rather people will blame government.

Help your people in the little way you can: advice them to ask questions from their political leaders in the community abstain from greed and the future will be brighter for you and me.

Do you think that Mend is fighting for your future development or that of ND?

Youngman wakeup from your slumber and start being proactive by educating your family back home:  asking  questions is the key. That is the little you can do and it will go a long way.
Politics / Re: MEND Say No More Ceasefire: by Bariga1(f): 2:22pm On Oct 16, 2009
Hello Beaf,

Well said but we are all missing “the vital point” and chasing shadow.

Every local government has a chairman and there are loads of councillors for every district in ND. How many times have you or any member of your family asked questions about how money given to them from the federal government is spent?

With the current state of affairs in ND even if royalties of 99.9999% are given to the government, it will not impact on the life of the common man or bring about development.

One word of advice: let us stop writing big English and ask our local political leaders more questions about how money given to them is spent.

No-one physically came to plant Ibori as governor, rather it was your greedy leaders and traditional rulers who have sold their birthright for a mess of potage and will do anything to make money that planted him.

A house divided against it-self will never stand. The change needs to start from within ND. MEND have no right to say they are fighting for the masses.

Educate your immediate family, extended family and friends about the meaning of accountability from local leaders and the impact this can bring towards development is unimaginable. Also you have done your contribution for your country.

The people who should be reading this do not even have light to read it. So what is the point

More action and less talk!!!!

Where are the elders in ND??
Politics / Re: I Have The Final Blue Print For Solving Nigeria’s Problem Of Corruption by Bariga1(f): 3:48pm On Oct 09, 2009
Thanks for views, but it is clear what side of the fence you are sitting.

We know your kind, as long as you can get unemployment benefit to cater for your daily needs, you are contended to keep living from day to day in the foreign land. No constructive thoughts of how home will get better, rather talk about sex when serious issues are being discussed.

If you have the brains (with all due respect) can you give a constructive argument as to why corrupt politicians and their entire family should not be killed? If they are tied in a court of law and found guilty of the offence (family members should be killed if they are found to either conceal, being a party to the corruption or failed to assist the police). The only reason why their entire family should go down with them (those over the age of 18 yrs) is to encourage family members to shop their parents and partners to the police.

There will be no incentives to steal because you know that the family you are stealing for will not live to spend it.

With regards you statement of this being barbaric: as long as it solves the problem which is crippling our nations. People are suffering and even dieing as a direct result of corruption and you do not see this as barbaric

I do not know how long u have being an asylum seeker in the western world but Young man you need to make up and smell the coffee. I have just come back after spending one month in Nigeria and I speak for the millions suffering in abject poverty.

Please note: that the word barbaric is relative to the society in which you live, western world has turned some of our brains!!!!

I rest my case!!!!

Please I would prefer serious minded people with an iota of brain to respond.

What is the correlation between being laid and corruption?

It just shows the mad life we are living under in Nigeria. I just hope that these are not the future leaders of our country otherwise we are doomed to failure.

Such people as the man who wrote above use their third leg to think rather than their brains (that is if they have one). Nothing constructive can ever come out of them.
Politics / I Have The Final Blue Print For Solving Nigeria’s Problem Of Corruption by Bariga1(f): 10:33am On Oct 09, 2009
Base on the fact that corruption seems to be the biggest problem crippling Nigeria and bringing about underdevelopment in every sphere of the citizens daily life. I have devised a solution which will stop the problem within THREE MONTHS.

Everyone that has stolen in the past up until now and has not being prosecuted should be given amnesty. But anyone who steal public funds and is caught should be killed after court trial that finds him/her guilty, they will have the right to appeal against the judgement in a speical court set-up to deal with such cases (if the person’s wife and children were aware of their parents act and never reported to the police they too face capital punishment (death). As a result of being guilty by association and failing to report the crime to the relevant agency. In a situation where the wife shops the husband, then she is not guilty of anything and might even be given a reward.

Critical problems deserve critical solutions to address such problems. I am confident that within three months corruption will dwindle drastically and public officials who steal public funds will be looked at with pity by memebers of the public instead of worshipped within our community b/c they know that they will soon die.

Once the first three families are executed I can bet on my son’s life that everyone in Nigerian politics will sit-up. Some will even start to resign because it is nomore business as usual.

Please send constructive thoughts on what you feel about this blue-print.

Many Thanks
Politics / Re: An Article About Nigerian Critics by Bariga1(f): 11:59am On Oct 07, 2009
Princekevo,

Thanks a million for those words of wisdom. You have said it all and I need say no more on the subject.

Nigerians will sell their birthright for a mess of portage, if that is what it takes to join the ruling class.

Some of us are ignorant to the fact that we are living in a dynamic world where information and services can be accessed easily than ever before.

The problem we have in Nigeria is : enlightening the masses about their right and obligations within the society which they live. I think it is time to stop talking about bad leadership and take the bull by the horn. Once Nigerians know the gravity /impact of selling their votes for money the better.

I am sure that you will agree with me that it is not the governor himself that goes to stuff the ballot boxes and sing praise songs at every opportunity to politicians.

I came back from Nigeria this morning and yesterday night in Ikeja I saw a police officer in full uniform working as a conductor and even collecting the fare for the driver. That is how bad things have become!!!!

Does the average Nigerian want a positive change within his environment?
Politics / Re: Kindly Drop A Curse For Mr President by Bariga1(f): 1:52pm On Sep 08, 2009
Oga “deaf and dumb”

We thought that if a man with education gets into power it will ameliorate the suffering of Nigerians, but the reverse is the case. It seems as if you have closed your eyes to electricity problems, health problems, security, employment and poverty while those in politics are getting richer, that is why we named you deaf and dumb.

We know that you mean good for this country, but you need to surround yourself with more focus driven people otherwise you might be the worst president that this country ever had.

Your seven point agenda has failed to yield anything constructive. Please do something fast.

But if you fail to do anything about the current situation in Nigeria, you will not die, but live to see your failures.

Remember that not all Nigerians can get treatment abroad: if you refuse to repair our medical system back home …. May you never stop travelling abroad for treatment !!!!

Amen
Politics / Re: Does the Nigerian Police Make Things Worse For Nigerians? by Bariga1(f): 1:43pm On Sep 01, 2009
Hello Backslider

This is the first time I will disagree with you. The issue on ground in Nigeria pass intelligence!!!

The way of thinking, training, personality, approach to members of the public and environment within the police station are all faulty.

Pls note that the police in a country are a reflection of the citizens/society. Nigerian police are a reflection of the corruption within politics and government. Until this stops the police will remain the same way. How many Nigerians complain? It is us abroad that are shocked by the actions of the Nigerian police.

Does the IG not know that his officers are collecting bribe? (if he does not know then he is living in a world of his own distant from the reality on the ground). But we know that his officers are sharing the IG so he is turning a blind eye to what we say about corruption and bribe within the police.

If you sack the police then you create more criminals, but if you set-up an intensive programme where they get trained and provide more incentives for officers so that they know that even if they die in service, their family will live a qualitative life. All that takes is undertaking an insurance policy for every police officer.

Note: the police will remain the same until those in government change.

The duties of EfCC is what our police should be doing, but who born monkey For a police officer to go and arrest a governor or a director of a bank at home!!!

Na that squirrel go kill that farmer if not caught in due time.

Is it that people can not think? Or is it a situation that people are clouded by their short-sightedness and stupidity?

Problem on ground – we need a solution to the problem which affects everyone – look for ways to address problem – ask government for funds for specific projects and fight that money is given –find project managers to monitor project and they sign before funds are released and if things go wrong you go for them (make sure they have an indemnity).

You speak about x and y is not fighting for you. Who does not have issues to contend with the government? Even the majority of the northerners are living in abject poverty – they have their own kettle of fish to address.

Sometime I think I am wasting my time even answer some of the comments because those writing them are from another planet!!!!!!
