Spy360: Leno is not a bad keeper but there is a reason why Ramsdale came in and benched him. That reason is communication. If Leno can learn to be as vocal as Ramsdale (perhaps his English) he will be the better keeper. Please note this properly. I have tried not to get stuck in the Ramsdale/leno comparison. Leno is a great shot stopper no doubt but an average goalkeeper. Forget communication, Lenos biggest problem is aerial dominance and secondly Leno is not a catcher , he is a puncher. I have seen him always parry the ball straight into an attackers path, Mane have scored many times against him with this trick alone. His parrying and lack of vertical dominance have cause us points. Catching instead of punching out the ball calms the defense and gives evryone a breather. Martinez and recently Ramsdale have shown this. |

Jodera: Spot on. I remember vividly that your quoted post and I thank God he's changed most guys mind about him. Most people weren't even excited about his signing cos he was largely unknown here and also the doom and gloom around arsenal atmosphere with all those losses we had, so we seeing another defender again, no one was motivated to even look out deeply to know the kind of player he is. Glad we got him and Ramsdale, esp Ramsdale. I criticised his signing earlier on thinking he's a back up keeper but wen spy(I think) told me he's to rival Leno for the no 1 spot I toned down a bit. Glad he's also becoming a fan's favorite.
All in all, those two are shrewd business so far considering their impact and how much we bought them. Excellent deals if you ask me Absolutely. Ramsdale could become a legend. Scary to think he is just #23.Having come from the school of hard knocks, being relegated twice in his early 20s, has helped his desperation to succeed which has been infectious to the defenders. His high fives, and bigging up good defensive plays makes the defenders want to protect him, you can see a bromance building between him and all the 4 defenders. I shudder to think how good this team could have been if Pepe played like a 72M player. |

Where did you guys read that hes not fast? I keep seeing it on this thread. The few times I have seen him play, he ran like a daemon. Reminds me of LLorente of ATM and Son at TOT. He was heavily pursued by Milan and Atalanta. But he had his eyes on England. Slow players dont survive in Atalanta and the new exciting team at Milan. His coach in Japan talks about his pace here: https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2021/09/01/arsenals-new-signing-takehiro-tomiyasu-has-been-branded-horribly-fast/
He can cope in a back 3. His coach at Bologna Siniša Mihajlović, is a brainiac. He is one of those ITK coaches who think they are the smartest in the room. He plays people out of position, wierd and unsual formation in tough games, trying to out think the opposition but the good thing is that TT applied himself well, playing left back, left centre back, right back and right centre back. Hence, you have an all rounded player. His ball carrying ability is also great. The guy can travel with the ball.
I just hope the guys at Arsenal manage him well. He will be useful to the team medium and long term. thanks TT for not shaming me. My complete faith in him when he first signed is being justified. Shout out to Gabriel who was the man of the match for me. He cleared, tackled and out fought every player he came against. Played like a throwback Sol Campbell, absolute monster of a defender. Ramsdale was on another level entirely. I critisized his signing but had to stop when I heard he took his grandfather's ash to his Arsenal unvealing. That was a clear signal he was for business. He has shown why he has been player of the year for his 3 previous clubs. You all owe him an apology |

Over the years, mostly in my early teens, I have had the unfortunate experience of dealing with 4 dislocations, thanks to football, basketball and some rough play in school. I did my left elbow twice and suffered one dislocation on both wrist. Reflecting on the pains I had gone through on each of those challenging periods, I frankly would not wish it on my worst enemy. I often hear people complain about dental pain, I can testify that dental pain and dislocation no be mate. I was once on the waiting cue at the bone setters place, a grown man, probably in his 50s was having his shoulder fixed, he cried and screamed so hard that he poo pooed on himself. I practically took to my heels when it got to my turn I pray for total restoration for everyone going through this ordeal currently. The Lord is your strength. Share your experience dealing with a dislocate limb

Truth be told, there Saga and Pere are not that close. I have barely seen them have a discussion for straight 30mins. The real definition of friends on BBN was Miracle and Tobi. They were a gang, Its unusual seeing two fiercely competitive guys bond and have such mutual love an understanding. Saga is not a street smart, no real guyman will follow woman up and down 24/7. The lack of street orientation messed up his game . Funny enough, its not been said but Pere is still in the game courtesy of Saga. Recall, Pere marginally beat Maria by 1% . That one percent came through team Saga especially when Pere was the most hate housemate that period and he was the original target to be kicked out ,while Maria was just collateral damage. These little intrigues makes the show compelling. |

DownChelsea: Saga is the biggest simp Ozo no do reach.
Frodd is the lightest one. Infact, there's still an argument as to whether Frodd actually simped. Cos it appears his only crime was crying due to Esther's rejection in week 2 which was a one-time event. He moved on while Esther moved on to Nelson. Nelson got evicted, and at that time Frodd was having his patch with Venita. It was at this time, Esther and Frodd somehow got close and their feelings became mutual (more from Esther's part if I'm to be honest). He never chased woman around like puppy the way Saga (or maybe Ozo) did. Wasnt Frod the guy washing pant and bra for woman, even cried like a baby at a point. Ozor no do reach that level to be honest. I cant vouch for Saga , since they dont show everything this season.

kendrick93: The AstroTurf at Enugu was laid in the year 2009.. Before then, the National teams still didn't host any of their games there. The last time a National side held a competitive game in the east was in the 99 u20 world cup hosted by Nigeria. That was ***** 22 yrs ago... National matches supposed to be played in all geopolitical zones of the country.. If the eagles could host matches in sub standard facilities like Asaba & Calabar then they have no excuses not coming down to the Eastern part of the country It was even circumstance beyond their control that brought them to the East in 99. They came runners up in their group in Lagos ,they had to play the group winners Mali, in Enugu. The East have produce some of our best talents over the years but a generation have passed without watching their boys live. The governors should take the blame as well, no way the NFF will refuse to play ball with them if they made an offer. Kano and Kaduna stadium are same generation with Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium. Its not a matter of facility but political will. |

Roland17: Hey, nice write up!
So I am an ardent/ religious follower of AC Milan and I have watched TT a couple of times over the last 2 seasons when he played against my Milan side. Yes, he is a better defender (especially 1v1) than any of our current RB. I also love the fact that he is decent with his left foot and can make good passes especially long passes. However, he doesn't necessarily promise much offensively and he does not have pace but he makes up for his lack of pace with good positioning. Also, it would be interesting to see how he manages the speed of the wingers in the EPL, which takes me to his his lack of pace. He has good awareness and the timing of his tackles are good.
TT has not played in a back 3 formation before. He has always lined up in a back 4 and has always been used as a traditional RB or CB when possible. So it will be interesting to see how he adjusts if Arteta returns to a back 3. His success will depend on how quick he adapts to the speed of the league and the formation used. He is physical enough to cope with the physicality but its the speed of things that worries me. On another day, we should be happy with this signing but things have gotten really bad for Arsenal.
FYI, he is Japanese, not Chinese. The stats for TT looks promising. Apparently, he beat Emerson Royal in every stat bar one. Secondly, I feel he was bought to improve the height of the back four as against signing small Rbs like Aarons or Tariq Lamptey who were equally considered being in the age profile and competence. If you factor in Ben white's ariel weakness, it all makes sense getting TT. He stood out anytime I watched Bologna last season, being Asian, he was not hard to spot on the pitch. I always asked who the Chinese guy was that played like a daemon possessed man. Welcome to the red and white.

In which of the above countries is the minimum wage higher than Nigeria? Yet they all have higher electricity tariffs These countries are not gas producing nations like Nigeria. |

Modrov: Yeah, when power is not charged at market prices but government prices, government has to pay a subsidy to offsett the losses being made. The discos are runing at a loss while the government pays subsidy to generate energy at twice the cost of other gas producing nation's Kwh. Thats right! bye bye |

Modrov: Which is where the subsides government (alongside some international lending agencies) pays come in. It is good, but not good enough to make them earn a decent profit.
Plus they don't pay taxes...simply because they can't afford it. (Kaduna DISCO has not paid taxes since its' establisment, as an example. That is also mentioned in the report that I have posted here). Government knows, and turns a blind eye. If government forced them to pay up...they would go out of business. Subsidy again? mehn, am out. |
Politics › Re: Confusion As Disco Announces Tariff Increase, NERC Silent by Barryseal: 11:07am On Aug 29, 2021 |
Modrov: They can....
Companies run on fixed costs...from whence salaries cometh, and operating costs.
They may be having enough for the fixed costs bit...but the operating costs...is where the lack of a profit is very painful (Them DISCOS always complain about not having enough to pay GENCOS)
The subsidies...part of which comes from government, and part of which comes from private loans...may help a bit. Yes, they can run on fixed cost for a few months not 10years. |
