PoliticsRe: Comedy Unlimited: Rochas Builds Freedom Square For Ventilation Of Anger by basadenet: 2:50pm On May 07, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: The govt of Owelle Rochas Okorocha has done some good things for the people of Imo state but it is never short of comedy.

Governor Rochas Okorocha while speaking on national tv few hours ago and listing the achievements of his govt, claim to be building a multimillion naira Freedom Square where people can go and ventillate their anger. He said any citizen that enters the Freedom Square will be given 5hours to utters any statement in anger or ventillate their anger on any given issue. Within those 5hrs, the person will have immunity but after the 5hrs the person will be on his own.

The governor went further to state that Imo people will also be provided with pure water and tomatoes which they can splash on the floor in anger. It is not clear whether the splashing of those items will be restricted to Freedom Square or whether it can be done in any part of the state.

In another development that got me reeling with laughter, Rochas said a chieftancy title will be bestowed on him tomorrow (7/5/2013). Guess what the title is? Senior Advocate of the Masses (SAM).

Governor Okorocha has achieved a lot in his state so therefore deserve the award. For that freedom square, i think it is a welcome development and a right step in right direction.
Lol..

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Ready To Forgo Second Term – Presidency by basadenet: 1:05pm On May 02, 2013
Gbawe: grin grin grin grin grin On a serious note, I think many here misunderstand my passion to see Nigeria gain a visionary President to mean I dislike GEJ personally. My posts about Yar Adua, when he was President, are still here and he got it worse from me than GEJ. OBJ got it worst because he is the worst of all. They are all a waste of space more concerned with their agenda and 'draft mission' of propping up an elitist an oligarchic order that enriches a few massively while impoverishing the masses. In that respect, OBJ has not been different to those who handed over power to him like IBB, while Yar Adua was another 'protector of the realm' with GEJ being the the latest 'Voltron'

Look at all the major problems no PDP President has touched since 1999 and you will discern the same pattern. All of them can be said to have come to office and recorded some "performance" yet they are all the same with how they avoid tackling problems that seriously impede our march towards nationhood and accelerated progress. They are the same set of problems traditionally bedevilling us and created from the period undeserving elements started gaining power and replacing themselves with similar. Nigeria has never freed itself from this rapacious class.
You seems to be economical with the truth, what do you mean that they are all the same, does it mean none of them ever performed in any area? I am not holding brief for any one of them but the truth is that some of performed.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Ready To Forgo Second Term – Presidency by basadenet: 12:54pm On May 02, 2013
The so call house of confusion are only deceiving Nigerians but protecting their own pockets. what they are saying in a nutshell is that the president should come and settle them so that the new arrangement can favour him. What about the PIB Bill that has been in their chamber for close to 13years was not passed all because it would affect most of them. so Nigerians dont care if they pass it or not.

One missile in the middle of that video would have solved the problem.
Nigerian Government actually needs drones to wipe away this BOKO MALAMS

obadiah777: I GUESS THERE IS A LESSON FOR ALL TO BE LEARNT HERE. THIEVES DONT LIKE TO BE OUTSMARTED
No lesson can be learnt from this harsh and crazy jail term instead the judiciary is making jest or mock of itself. The judge that made this pronouncement only did it not for the law sake but to satisfy the state governor. So the judge involved should be compulsorily retired immediately for this outrageous pronouncement.

They desrve more than this, because this crazy phcn staff intentionally give you an inflated bill so that you will come and settle with them for an agreed fee. This one of the reason they have been blocking the FG from selling phcn.

CelebritiesRe: kaffy's Mum Adviced Her To Do Prostitution by basadenet:
kulyie: should that even come out from her mouth even if they are living under uncompleted building? The bottomline is that mothers should be mindful of what they say to their kids because such statements hardly leave their minds especially to girls.like the old woman in the movie titanic said,a womans heart is like an ocean of secrets.if you know you dont want to be remembered for bad or made reference of in a negative way by virtue of what you say,say something edifying to your kids or keep your mouth shut
As human being we are not perfect so we made so many mistakes which is what we are discussing here. if Kaffy is still a kid, then what she said is valid but in this scenario, she is an adult, not only an adult, a mother of two, which puts her in a position to know right from wrong. she is not fear to her mum in whatever way we look at it.

CelebritiesRe: kaffy's Mum Adviced Her To Do Prostitution by basadenet: 4:18pm On Apr 29, 2013
kulyie: why will it cause discord?did she lie against her,was that not what her mom said.if she lied against her publicly, ehen, she has all the right to fight and even disown her
Well i pity kaffy a lot. Even if her mum said so, does that tantamount to forcing her into prostitution biz? Sometimes when in travail or turbulent human being sometimes made some statement as a result the state of his/her mind then.
Nairaland GeneralShould Oil Thieves Face Death Penalty In Nigeria? by basadenet(op): 4:07pm On Apr 29, 2013
In view of the incessant increase in cases of oil theft in Nigeria and informed by the impunity with which oil thieves now operate in the country. This so call evil trade seems to be thriving without any law to check this abuse. Therefore If this trend is allow continue with the current rate, then Nigerians should expect the worst in no distance time. In my own personal Death penalty for those found guilty of oil theft will deter others from continuing the illegal business.

Now If you are in a position of authority today would you promulgate a death penalty law to curb this menace call oil thieving or better still oil bunkering.

Your honest views will be appreciated.

ItsModella: What will I not see on this NL? It's too un-African for her to say the truth? That explains why Africa is still a sh*thole.
She is free to say whatever she consider the truth but with caution and not with this kind of truth truth that will tear a family apart. Now she had succeeded in stigmatizing her mum and which invariably may leads to discord among the duo.
CelebritiesRe: kaffy's Mum Adviced Her To Do Prostitution by basadenet: 3:32pm On Apr 29, 2013
I can understand her plight then but what she said is un-African and too sensitive. She had portrayed her mother in bad light in presence of Nigerians and this might backfire on her in future.

Nigerians do not like change as they prefer to be where they are. All the Prof. was to trying to do is to bring a lasting changes and possibly stop to Exam malpractices in Nigeria but Nigerian Students and Exam Cheaters don't like it, hence they decide to get rid of the Noble Prof. Thank God hi is alive, but those Assassins will definitely face the wrath of Almighty God in no distance time.Amen.
