@chidi ejiogu. i think you are 100% wrong with your assertion here. Do you know that other tribes too are involved in cement manufacturing in Nigeria? Do you know that this Dangote Guy is one of the few Business men that employed more Yoruba's and Igbos in their companies than his own tribes men. so from little analogy you see Dangote is not a tribalistic person as you claim. .

I hope this step does not back fire. May be the President had forgotten one thing that person he just fired happens to be from his own area and the person that had been shielding him form Boko Bombers attack. Now that he has appointed an Hausa Man then the President should not sleep with his two eyes closed because if he does, that might spell doom for him. It is a wrong step by sacking Gen. This has further demonstrated that our police is in incapable of handling sensitive issues like the one one we are currently witnessing. Similar thing happen to a senior officer in the person Commissioner of police,Mohammed Tsav regarding an escape of an important member of the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram and up till now nothing concrete has not come out of the so call shoddy investigation. Our police will always settle for the highest bidder anytime, any day. so there is still much monumental corruption going on in our police force despite all efforts been made by the present IGP to sanitized the force . God help this country.

The reasons adduced by the government for the fees is that Lagos State government is pushing LASU to become semi-autonomous and self sustaining. If Private Schools can be funded with fees paid by students, then may be government sees this as a long lasting way of running it.

Recall that when this was announced by the Lagos state government, debated on the floor of the House of Reps and even students protested.

Meanwhile all you guys hailing private schools.......I simply see them as get-away for low-scoring and "Jamb" failed students......

@mapet. It is rather unfortunate that somebody like you can think in the way the present Government.Is LASU better than other state university? No... Did Fashola not benefited from the Free Education of lagos State Government? Yes... What moral justification does he have to unilaterally increase the school fee without recourse the plight of the Masses? Out of state universities in the country Lagos fee triple that of other states. It will be advisable for the Governor to tow the part of honor than that of dishonor which is presently staring him in the face. And he should realized that very soon he will leave the seat of Government, so what will become of him?

The Lawan Farouk had stayed too long in the House Representative, he is been there right from inception of this 3rd republic. And for what we read recently in one of post on this very topic, it was claimed that farouk lawan had never impacted positively on his constituency meaning his constituency had never benefited anything from him, which invariably means he had gone therefor his own selfish reasons. Only God knows how many of such deal he would have been involved secretly, thank God this one was blown open. If he is guilty let him face the maximum penalty. Most of those guys in the Nigerian House of representative are nothing but day light armed robbers.
