Nice2023: They have opened an office on ur head.
They are building u a house and u are taking their words for it.
Oga,just take it that, the builder is building another house somewhere.
Na julius berger dey build the house abi which one ? A typical Nigerian is always like that, I wont blame you. In life don't be fast to make a conclusion on something you don't know until you see details which includes the design, the size, the quality of materials used etc. These things are very important before jumping into conclusion. But irrespective of the design, it is extremely hard to build and complete a duplex with less than 35million naira right now. Including railings, tiles, glass windows and protectors, doors, plumbing pipings, electricals, POP etc. I am just telling you the truth |

arcahmad: Yes its possible. But most factors plays a vital role. Let me advise you on this. I am sure N10m can finish your building if not all, finish all interior work including painting and tiling as well as POP works. You can leave the exterior work in your next budget so you can concentrate to achieve it to your taste, including external works which are interlocks, kerbs and landscaping. Please sir, kindly tell this guy the truth. I can bet that 10million can NEVER do all these things you mentioned using that plan you posted. |

engrrichie92: Builders/Architects/Engineers,
I need your expert advise.
So I have got 10M naira I want to invest in my first building project (Land inclusive)
I know it is not feasible in Lagos, so looking at Ondo/Ogun state; Is this feasible within my budget?
I am even willing to pay for a comprehensive project plan from an experienced builder.
It will be nice to have a detailed breakdown of how to achieve this before I proceed
Thanks in advance. Firstly, I would like to know the details of the house you plan to build. But I will advise you not to be discouraged by what I am going to type now, based on my personal experience. If you have the plan of building Upstairs, then 10million naira can't even complete the decking level (forget about the quotation the engineer must have given you to attract the contract, he will still call and request for more money along the line. I have spent approximately, 38200 Euros based on my well-kept record (which is equivalent to about #29,796,000) on my duplex but still not yet completed. Price of building materials is very high now due to fuel price. To bring a truck of sand used to be 11000 but now over 30000 for just one truck alone. I don't want to talk about rods, tiles , electricals, POP etc. But just note that 10million CAN'T complete decking level from foundation for a standard upstair (I can bet on it). That is excluding land price o o o. Roofing alone will cost you about 3million or more, depending on the total sqm and the roofing sheet. Foundation alone will cost you 2million or more depending on the type of house. All these things I typed above is from my personal experience. I no add salt or maggi on top. |

Jones4190: no one tamper with the machine, the machine got spoiled of it own, in taking rent there is what is call causion feel which is normally 5% of the total rentage, it cover the expenses of things like that. LOL That is not what Caution means in Germany. Caution is deposited to your landlord as a form of collateral for you to stay in his house. Which means any year you decide to leave his house, he will come and inspect everywhere and if anything damaged under your care, he will repair it and subtract the cost of the repair from your caution. If you stain the walls of the house with oil or dirty legs, he will also repaint the room and subtract the total cost from your caution. If you damaged something bigger than the caution deposited, then you must balance him up within a stipulated period before you completely move away from the apartment. 100% of the caution will only be given back to you when the house is in the same condition as it was before you moved in. |

Dshocker: *....For peace of mind, leave her in Nigeria
*.... For vuwulence, bring her abroad
Funny enough, if you leave your wife here, boys will help you and be changing oil.
So choose your poison carefully My thought exactly, though it depends on the woman. She can be coming over regularly to visit you anytime she wishes and you spoil her with money and get her a car to cruise around with. Some Nigerian girls are very decent and would never cheat on their husband especially when you treat her well and provide her with enough cash to take care of some personal things even without her asking. |

All these and many more are not white girls. I have a simple assignment for you. Check the divorce rate of Nigerians and divorce rate of Germans or Americans then you would never compare Nigerians and the whites when it comes to marriage stability. In America, an average marriage doesn't last upto 20yrs. Average o o o. White people don't see divorce as devastating as many Nigerians see it. There is an incomparable divorce rate between Nigerians and the whites |

Zonefree: Avoiding Nigerian women is best. I doubt I can marry any woman who is not a Nigerian. I have tested white women and I really prefer nice a Nigerian for marriage. In my own personal opinion, white women are more direct, less demanding and more fun for short time relationship and sexual excapedes, but Nigerian women are more tolerating, generally tougher and can maintain a longer relationship than an average white girl. White girls mostly seem to get fed up in a relationship faster than an average Nigerian and sue for divorce when you least expect it. But there are exceptions to this. I know many Nigerians happily married to Germans for over 20years, but I have seen more failed interracial marriages than successful ones within my three years in Germany. |

I was talking with a friend about this topic last week, and he passionately opposed marrying a Nigerian woman and taking her to a western country, arguing that she would become accustomed to western culture and use the law against him. He cited the experience of his uncle who selected a young girl from the village, brushed her up, and trained her in a nursing program in America, after getting lucrative job in the USA, she entirely changed from the person he knew previously. The guy is a womanizer though, and I suspect that might be the reason why he doesn't want to bring his wife over because no woman would tolerate that abroad. I would like to hear your opinion about this topic. Though I am always in support of living with my wife wherever we decide to stay when I marry. |

rolams: Is it APC that is about to end an 8 years in power that is presenting another Northerner? No
This is multi party system and all the parties have their constitution.
The last PDP president was from south. Is right for the south to present another candidate who will win and rule for another 4 or 8 years under the PDP again? No. This is what Wike has failed to realized. Wike believes the best chance for the PDP to win is now and any candidate presented by the PDP will win.
Why did Wike supported the PDP to throw the ticket open?
I will always be fair in my analysis.
The truth of the matter is that Wike is pained for not winning the ticket and was not selected as Atiku's running mate.
If PDP like, make Dem kill themselves, na their wahala. If APC like make Dem scatter their party, na Dem Sabi. You have a good point too, but if we continue like this, then power will forever remain in the North which is unfair to the other zone. To end all these insurgency and cessation struggle in Nigeria, there should be a constitution that power should rotate amicably among the 6 geopolitical zones in the Country. North Central North East Northwest South East South South South westUntil this is done, Nigeria might not be entirely peaceful and sane. Also state police, independent judiciary etc You don't expect orderliness in any place where the foundation of the system is not well constructed. This is exactly why most bright minds in science and health sector are leaving the system to places where the society is sane. |

Education › Re: The Nigerian Law School grading system is bad by Basalt(m): 3:03pm On Nov 18, 2022 |
help2022: Good morning my people. There is a serious problem that is currently destroying my brother. My brother is part of those that went through the Nigerian law school one year programme. Their results came out yesterday and he passed four out of the five courses and so he was given a conditional pass. Now, the crux of the matter is that my brother is looking suicidal. I know how hard working my brother is. The Nigerian law school is also a wonderful institution but there is something wrong with the grading system. The pressure that the students experienced at law school is better imagined. For every law school session students die "go and verify". They die from the pressure and stress from the Nigerian law school. Students that spent five years in their respective universities without losing anyone due to stress, will come to Nigerian law school for a period of say ten months and at least two must die from stress. There has been a law that abolished conditional pass, it is painful that it is not being implemented. Please if the Nigerian law schools cannot adhere to their own law how then, do they expect others to adhere to the Nigerian law. Charity they say begins at home. My brother is home looking dejected, shying away from calls from colleagues. The resources and time wastage hurts. It seems that his life is looking bleak. Please, I am appealing to well meaning Nigerians to help beg the Nigerian law school to implement the law that abolished conditional pass. Please help the Nigerian youths. People are suicidal already from various pains they cannot talk about. NB: Conditional pass means he will have to wait for the resit students which is like mid next year to take that one paper he failed meanwhile his set will be called to bar by next month. Please mods push this to front page. Please we need help. Thank you. The first thing I will say is that you are the one who got the conditional pass not your brother! Secondly, I understand how it feels, but I think you should focus more on how to pass the course failed. Remember, there are many people that passed under the same stress and condition who didn't get the conditional pass like you? So instead of wasting time blaming the system which has been there for ages before you were even born, it is better to invest more time on the course you failed to avoid failing again and adding more fuel to the fire. If you keep on blaming the grading system, how are you going to pass it? Alternatively, since you are so sure about the flaw of the grading system and you studied law in the university, you can explore your legal skill and sue the school management and see how it goes. |
