olujaidi:Thanks for your response. Please see the first link on differences btw Sukuk and regular bonds I googled(See section on repurchasing at maturity), the second link to the prospectus of the 2017 Sukuk, page 10/11- Limited Recourse. https://www.dummies.com/personal-finance/islamic-finance/how-sukuk-islamic-bonds-differ-from-conventional-bonds/ https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.fmdqgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/FGN-Sukuk_Prospectus-Execution-version_051017.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwjE-umuzd7pAhX9BGMBHRMQAaMQFjAAegQIAhAB&usg=AOvVaw3Sdg6eeB8Du36aaML_NooZ |
@House, good evening. I have been reading on the differences between a Sukuk bond and a regular bond. One of the things that jumped at me was the possibility that if you hold till term, you may not necessarily have your full face value investment back due to the valuation of the asset at that future time e.g. 2027 in this case. This is very different from the regular FGN bonds where my full face value is repaid on expiration of the Bond. I've read the propectus for the first FGN Sukuk which I could find online and it seems to lend credence to this thesis. Can anyone pls help correborate this? Or I am mis interpreting the information? Thank you. |
Acidosis:Irrespective of what has happened, a responsible married man and father should not be telling his wife to get out of the house. |
Ugosample:I am still not clear as to why your friends lost money. 100k$ in 2014 would have been about 20m. With compounding over the last 4 years, that should have increased to about 34m to 40m using the range of interest rates we have had over the last 4 years. At a worst case, I would think they would have their 100k back. Yes, still less than what it could have become even at the 2 to 3% rates in your US, but not a loss. Could you shed some light on how the value dropped to 50k? Unless they just kept it without investing or applying compounded interest? |
Jones4190:Let's assume that your quotes and statistics are correct, does being illiterate also automatically confer on one the qualifier if being lazy? That one is illiterate does not necessarily mean he/she is lazy- several circumstances could have led to his/her illiteracy. |
geunik:What kind of ignorance is this? I hope nobody is really taking this as advice. |
kokomaster3d:Uncle!! Really? I wouldn't want to enter a building of that magnitude if it did actually cost 35m.... some serious corners would have been cut somewhere. Depending on what article you reference, the Burj is quoted as haven costed between 650m to 1 billion......dollars! |
I think this issue has been flogged enough. I have had another look at realdeji's post on this from 1st Nov and indeed I tend to agree that the states terms are NOT for TBills. If you look closely, it makes mention of WHT which is never charged on TBills. Also the 25% penalty is on EARNED interest. Penalties are typical for most investementa and it is always on earned interest not on total interest I.e only for the period under review prior to early liquidation. We've all learnt a lot from each other over the years, let's keep it that way please. Cheers! |
What is wrong in him being a driver if that is what he has chosen to? |
Oshomo12:Thanks @Oshomo.... So I thought it should be, with DC breakers but I'm seeing some abracadabra. Others in the house, abeg your kind thoughts. |
@house, Is it typical that when a battery is being charged and reads say 27V, for this to fall abruptly to say 22 or 23V once the source of power is gone? Also, is it typical to loop two separate solar arrays together and terminate just one cable instead of two for both arrays on the breaker? I have my thoughts on these but looking for individual experiences on this. Thanks house. |
Pls, any experienced installers familiar with hybrid inverters in the house?? Thanks. |
My good people, anyone willing to share their PV generation in the last few weeks since the rains started? I am getting just about 30% of installed capacity at peak which gives me some concern. Most times, a miserly 10-15%... and it's not raining! Thanks o! |
Daboomb:Uncle....... ![]() Biko, any other known solutions in the house? Thanks. |
Sanchez01:Exactly my thoughts!..... unless there was something amiss in the union that was not visible prior to his death. |
@house Please, what is the easiest/best way to get rid of algae growth/deposits on interlocking stones/floors? Something that preferably will last for some time before re-application again. Thanks o! |
Amypriti:Note that the quoted 5% is still per annum...... It doesn't mean you will get back 5% of your principal after 30 days! |
pranil:Is the 400Ah stated in this formula at any particular voltage? 24V or 48V?? Thanks. |
@pranil Please, I need your help. Where did you buy your Hyundai generator? Looking to buy same type you've shown in your photos here. Please let me know when you're chanced. Thanks. |
ihedioramma:If One million @ 18% for 10 years = 5.23M, its unlikely that One million @15% for same 10 years will be 8.25M.. The calculator is actually quite easy to use if indeed the figures as shown on the print screens by Chuks are keyed in; and changed to suit your desired tenor, rate and principal..... Try it! |
@House... Please, has anyone purchased a Hyundai generator of late and has a contact to share? I am looking for sound-proof options for this or similar generators based on your experiences. Thanks. |
enochogaga:Uncle... anyone! If you get contact, pls share. I will make enquiries of what is available then. |
enochogaga:Bros, no problem... looking for the sound proof options. Appreciate if you can share the contact here. Thanks. |
@house Does anyone please have a contact to buy Hyundai generators? Preferably in Lagos? Thanks. |
Kingxway:Can you please reference one "developed" country that has done this in the past? I am eager to learn about how we can improve. |
lordhugo:It doesn't count in the CGPA.... It counts in the award of the best graduating student! |
For anyone who didn't know the meaning of cyber-bullying, all the above are prime examples. Even though we hardly acknowledge it exists in Nigeria along with its attendant repercussions, I have not seen a better example of extreme bullying as on the pages on our forums. |
belindar:Uncle/Aunty Belindar, How does her photo prove you right or wrong? So if we get you right, victims of domestic violence should abide within the confines of their aggressors or even if not, wait maybe 6 months to 1 year after the violence to do anything they consider fun. Is this about right? |
Any exterior photos available? |
@pranil, thanks for modifying an earlier note you wrote. Was easier to grasp afterwards. Will the below work ? |
earthrealm:@pranil has 4 units and he just posted his consumption a few posts above. His feedback corresponds with what I see on most faceless forums like these where people share their experiences. I believe the figures. |
Hi Pranil, Curious as to how you sized your fuses between your batteries and inverter. I thought with 8 nos. of 200Ah, 12V batteries, making a 48V, 400Ah battery bank, that you would need a bigger fuse? Also, there are several schools of thought on having a fuse on the negative. I notice you have a fuse though halved. May I ask why? @Barezzi Max PV Array Open Circuit Voltage for the 5kVA is I think 145V DC. |
