Education / Re: I Don't Like The Course Am Studying. by bb6xt(m): 8:42pm On May 25, 2016
EmpresFIDEL:
good morning friends.. I need your advice. am a 100lv student studying fisheries after searching for admission for 3yrs... but I still want to write jamb next year to study pharmacy. what do you think? I should continue with the fisheries or I should take another jamb for pharmacy which I love so much. am 21years old.

If you really put your mind to it and have an entrepreneurial spirit you will be making good money from that course long before you graduate. By the time you do graduate you'll already be an employer of labor. Pharmacy is a good course but so also is fisheries. If your reason for getting a degree is to get a job then you should probably go for pharmacy. Otherwise stick with fisheries and explore how you can start a modest fish farm and before you know it you'll be glad you did.

Religion / Re: My Experience At Church Service In Germany by bb6xt(m): 8:57pm On May 22, 2016
My comment relates to the use of loudspeakers. Though I don't consider myself to be a Jehovah's Witness I have had the opportunity of attending meetings at Kingdom Halls in 3 states in Nigeria (Abuja, Niger and Akwa Ibom). In all instances, even as loudspeakers were used, they were tuned such that everyone in the meeting could hear very clearly all that was being said without any noise spilling outside the hall. Secondly, at no time did any speaker raise their voice or scream into the mic as is common in most other Nigerian churches. I wish all churches will adopt this rather than constituting their selves into veritable noise agents.

We are admonished as Christians to spread the gospel. However, we must not compel people to listen willy-nilly. Moreover, there are more suitable avenues for evangelism. For those who justify the loudness with the fact that Nigerian congregations are large just bear in mind that the public address systems are tunable and can be made to serve just a defined space with little or no spill out.

Brilliant Nigerian lady, Queenate Ibeto shared the stage with President Barack Obama at the Howard University graduation ceremony in the US last weekend. Queenate was selected by her school to welcome and address the class of 2016 and the Howard University Commencement Speaker, President Barack Obama. She was privileged to greet and hug Obama.

Commencement is what convocation is called in North America. I very much doubt that she was welcoming the class of 2016 when they were actually graduating that day.

My brother, any time people talk of the good old days and being great again I can't help but say "God forbid!". If we've ever been so great then how have we come to this sorry pass? I pray Nigeria become great but I doubt that we've ever really been great before. At least not as great as I hope we should be.

Because we refused to be tied to the apron strings of the Breton Woods cabal they have resorted to discrediting us. This administration is saintly in comparison to GEJ's yet they didn't criticize him because they had their stooge (NOI) doing their bidding under him.

By this rash of de-marketing I am convinced that we are on the right path. To PMB's economic team I say more power to your elbow! May God give them wisdom and doggedness to see us through this trying times.
Education / Re: I Applied For MSc But Foreign Supervisor Said School Is Accepting Me For PhD by bb6xt(m): 9:50pm On May 04, 2016
It is common for top schools in North America not to have a terminal masters program. However, you may elect to receive a master's en route a PhD. All that is required to qualify for admission to the PhD is a good bachelor's degree which you seem to have. PhDs are generally research oriented and at most schools come with full funding either through Research Assistantships (funded from your supervisor's research grants) or Teaching Assistantships or both. PhDs take between 5 and 6 years to complete and in the first two years you take courses equivalent to a masters program, for the remaining you focus on researching towards your thesis/dissertation.

Please just go for the PhD. You have nothing to loose.

Most girls then, were very responsible, decent and well brought up

That today's ladies know what they want and go for it without vacillating does not mean they are less decent or poorly brought up. If anything, it shows that they are more confident and honest about their feelings and sexuality. In today's fast paced world the realization that life is short and that chances missed may not come again is reason enough to make the most of available opportunities.

Politics / Re: Nigerians Must Resist Attempt To Change Constitution To Suit Saraki -Sen. Marafa by bb6xt(m): 11:31am On Apr 17, 2016
If indeed the proposed amendments are tantamount to a constitution review then we need not worry. In order for a constitution amendment to sail through 2/3 majority of all state houses of assembly, the house of reps and the senate must support it. If it were easy Obasanjo would have had his third term. The fact that Saraki, supposedly a lawyer, is willing to go this route speak volumes of his legal credentials cum moral fabric.

God bless you Bro.. This entity called Nigeria is Lurgard's mistake.. North is like Iraq and Iran, we have nothing in common with them... Just like Isreal shares boundary with Gaza, that's how we the igbos suppose to share rugged boundary with Northerners...

Each time some people say they wish that Lord Lurgard's amalgamation never happened I can't help but thank God that it did. You see, I'm from Benue state and Benue people are mostly Christians. If the amalgamation hadn't taken place we'll be lumped with the North and with the growing menace of Fulani herdsmen and the religious intolerance of some elements in the North, that would have been tough luck for my people. I really do hope we can make it work as a nation but if that fails I earnestly hope Benue with other central states will consider their options more carefully before choosing where to cast her lot. Geographical proximity alone is not a good enough reason for choosing where or with whom to stand.

APC, Timi Frank...

“I sincerely hold that the current trial of Saraki is not only underserved, but amounts to paying a good man with evil. I also want to say that the leaders of our great party have unfortunately remained quiet in the face of evil.

So it is ok to break our laws for political expediency. Hmmm...

Saraki has only been given that right which every citizen deserves, viz: the right to prove his innocence.

Does this Timi Frank presume to know better than our Supreme Court justices who have held that Saraki should face the charges against him?

Is he suggesting that we should set aside the Constitution and CCB/CCT acts because they happen to affect the Senate President?

If I got hold of a gun and broke into a bank's vault and was caught would he also ask that the penal code and all our laws on armed robbery be set aside so that I may go free?

Selective application of any law can only breed anarchy by causing people to take matters into their own hands and promotes impunity.

Some may say "but Tinubu got off on similar charges". But if we're honest we can see that in Tinubu's case it was a clear miscarriage of justice by letting him go based on a defunct law. The fact that the government of that day condoned that doesn't mean this one shouldn't follow the right course.

Business / Re: CBN Introduces New Charges On ATM Cards, Cheques by bb6xt(m): 12:28am On Mar 16, 2016
Is Emefiele working for Nigerians or for bank shareholders? Is he governor of the CBN or chairman of the board of some bank? Sanusi Lamido Sanusi rightly removed bank charges on ATM withdrawals but the first thing he did was to reintroduce it.

Look at it this way, when you put money in your savings account, which normally should yield interest, you discover that instead your money keeps reducing due to one deduction or other. The bank uses your money to give loans at upwards of 20% interest yet you are still made to pay in order to withdraw your money (ie #65). Now they want to charge you for letting them use your money to make usurious profits.

If this is indeed true I call on all Nigerians to vehemently protest this thievery. As for me, as soon as this becomes the official policy, I will walk into every bank with which I have an account and demand that they either cancel my ATM (without any possibility of renewal) or close my account. As a necessary evil I will continue to use my various bank's e-channels until it gets out of hand, at which time I will revert to using a saving box and close every one of my accounts.

This policy, if true, is wicked, draconian and devilish. Albeit, I earnestly pray that this is just April fool come too soon.

It is impossible to compute the area of a triangle given the length of the base of the triangle only yet our guru correctly gave the area of the triangle even before the height of the triangle was read out.

My conclusion is that the student had seen the question at least before the teacher had read it out and so had computed the answer beforehand. When this is considered we may say his performance was brilliant but not quite exceptional.

If you must question my thesis please kindly question my #Facts and not the sentiment.

Last time I checked the Supreme Court is still the court of final jurisdiction in Nigeria. So no matter how much y'all bicker about the issue Mr. King is going to hang. Only a pardon can save him at this point but my prayer is strongly against a pardon for a cold-blooded killer reverend, pastor or otherwise.

God said we should not judge, "Do my prophet no harm" let nigerian government leave everything for God(Judge) we don't know where our problems are coming from

Jesus bu Eze

If someone breaks into your home, kills your wife, ra.pes your 10 year old daughter and steals your property tell me that when you see such a person in the street you will not at least call the police?

Didn't the same Jesus Christ say give unto Caesar what is Caesar's? If Caesar (the Nigerian government) says if you kill another person you should be killed then Caesar has every right to take your life if you do.

The Bible says "touch not my prophet..." but who decides who is God's prophet? God! Because some lowlife charlatan calls himself prophet doesn't make him one. God advocates humility and his true followers are never caught up in a sense of self grandeur to start taking on titles like King or whatever.

It will be in your interest to meditate on all things rather than gullibly accepting every word that comes from every self acclaimed man of God as gospel truth. God gave you a brain it will be a shame if you don't use it. Moreover, if a friend gave you a good gift the least you can do in gratitude is to put it to good use.
