It is like many cretins don't want boko haram to be defeated. I wonder why? Boko haram will soon be history. |
PBundles: Its always a pity when one receives a response like this. Your response would seem to imply you understand the dynamics of private funding. What makes you think I dont know the project? Or did you assume (you know what they say about assume, it makes an as. of u and me) that I didnt know the project. Yo claim its not a government project because you read PRIVATE FUNDED. SMH . A project like this, is NEVER I repeat NEVER totally private financed. How do I know, Im a director at an investment bank based in London/Amsterdam and have worked on various projects (ie Jorf Lasfar Energy Company (morocco) which I worked on in the 90's to name a few). There will always be municipal/government connection for the simple fact that private investors will not partake, same as credit insurers or even the banks. The latter I know for a fact. Do you think private investors are going to build this city for nothing and the government, as you seem to think will sit back and enjoy it dont think so. I can assure you that the Lagos state government is involved. Thanks so much for this. I do not possess your indepth financial knowledge to have been able to put it across so beautifully, but this is exactly why I called Gbawe out for saying that he was mortgaging his property as his part in getting the project going. Thank God we've got brilliant minds like yours with experience in mega projects. Please remain on this thread, your input would be highly valued. |
afam4eva: Changing the education policy of a state in Nigeria does not make sense because there has to be uniformity. I think this is one of the reasons why the accusations of secession is flying over Aregbe's head.West - Mudasiru Oyetunde Hussein (ACN) East - Christopher Omoworare Babajide (ACN) Central - Olusola Adeyeye (ACN) |
I like Oshiomhole, but... O lord!! What a wicked wicked wicked wicked article! ![]() |
dohyn: I'm in OOUTH sagamu..just today,a woman came in with a 5month old baby that needs emergency surgery.child's beem sick for the past 5days.she had only 4thousand naira on her and admission alone is 2000n.I and some colleagues had to go round d hospital begging, even patients contributed..at the end of the day,we barely raised 8k.we are still looking for blood donor.Hospital management has waived some fees, hopefully surgery will be done this evening..I'm sure her bills at the end of her stay can't be up to 100k,yet one bastard in power will be looting billions and travelling to Isreal when sick..I pray he and others like him die abroad.Maybe when that starts happening or they start dying on that Lagos-Ibadan expressway like Nigerians do daily,a change will happen..maybeThis is a very touching story. May God bless all of you abundantly. There is a lot of good left in the country and people one can be proud of associating with as fellow Nigerians. Nice one. ![]() |
salaksmana: I can't even see anything in OP post that is meant to abuse Aregbe, he only ask for people's opinion. He gave a link of the state's website, yet Gbawe still can't give his opinion rather he start insulting everyone with big grammars. That is Gbawe's modus. And it is both shameful and a disgrace (especially when he has zero facts as back up). You guy's are even lucky to be Yoruba, otherwise he would have accused you of being "wannabe's" and all sorts of other stuff. |
Sealeddeal: She is not gonna be the Chief Justice even after been recommended.GEJ will force in another person..but does it mean dat its only north dat have judges?this is not merit issue.i think oda regions have competent judges as well.It has little to do with North/South merit issues. Rather it is about longterm strategies and the North is well positioned within the judiciary to supply the CJN's for the next century or two. Why? Southerners prefer the bar, cos of money; while Northerners go for the bench. The bench supplies the CJN. |
^ Your fear is legitimate, bro. However, we live in a democratic society and that is why it is important to have vigorous opposition parties (there are no greater checks than that) and why we must strive for a truly independent judiciary thats as clean as a whistle. We wouldn't be discussing the powers of the SSS if a governor did not cross all boundaries of common sense to become a security threat. |
Brother Gbawe, any news? ![]() |
Those organizations are not above the law in their countries, and they don't have official roles in State Government houses.(as you are aware, SSS agents hang around State government house Gates, I've seen enough, they are not even covert about it ) Also, M16, like the CIA, is an intelligence ops body for protecting against external enemies not domestics, they provide foreign intelligence. I don't think they throw unsubstantiated allegations at State Governors and call them for questioning and explanation. That sounds like the Nazi SS Gestapo to me. Nigeria's SSS on the other hand let's just say there is a reason why you don't copy blindly. It is better to get them organized with more specific roles ( foreign intelligence or presidential Security) These things we play with are extremely dangerous in the hands of brutal leaders, it's like the FBI when Hoover first ran it. If not for powerful laws and sensible foresight a Hoover would have become a Hitler in no time. Can't play with para-Military orgs by giving them unnessarily over-broad powers like that. It's dangerous for all of us. Don't know when a lunatic will get into Abuja again. Maybe we have an ideological difference on this issue sha. We will have to Discuss this on another thread though, don't want to derail the thread more than I already did.
I made the mistake of using MI6, I meant MI5. I have never heard of anybody challenging the FBI in a US court. My brother, inexeplicable things of voodoo quality will start happening that will make the wise charlie withdraw his case and flee. That is how they are above the law, and that is the norm across the World. All we can have are checks and balances, and since we do not have a dictator in power, whats your fear? What we have here is a set of people who pushed beyond the boundaries of law and common sense (they were always going to do it sooner or later), now they might pay a very high price. Who knows? No governor can mess with the National Coat of Arms, National Flag and other symbols of the sovereign state of The Federal Republic of Nigeria and get away with it. Imagine renaming Osun state to "State of Osun!" |
You are funny, o, no be Tribune? I saw the almost obsessive references to "friendly visit" like they are trying to push it into my eyes ![]() Tribune is not exactly an unbiased party in this case. The whole secession allegation thing is ridiculous and unbelievable though. Just saying. Anyway, we deh observe.
Lol! So, why do you think Aregbe was moving from security office to security office in Abuja? Like say na campaign! ![]() The guy knows 2 + 2 = 4 and he is acting accordingly. Why do you think there have been no official statements from Lai Mohammed and Tinubu? We simply have a situation where the tectonic impact of sudden realisation has set in. Abeg, free Tribune from this "State of Osun" matter. The Tribune is owned by the highly respected Awolowo family. |
Thanks Beaf, I see it now. But the report said friendly visit, I no see begging for dia. Off topic; i Can't wait to see the end of SSS and all these silly security acronyms with unnecessarily over-broad powers we inherited from military dictatorships.
What do you think a "friendly" visit means? Especially the repeated emphasis? Dem no wan disgrace di man, so make e respect imsef. Das all! ![]() The SSS powers are in order. They are effectively above the law as are the FBI, M16 etc; they are the maximal enforcers of our sovereignty and security; we do not exist in the anarchic society of the Aregbesola's of this World. I'm sure he is now frantically converting back to Osun state from "State of Osun" and reinstating the Nigerian Coat of Arms with fevered vigour. |
jidestar:Die, if you like, bro. Normal service has resumed. Oga Aregbe, baba agba don beg. By the way, I am Isoko/Urhobo and proud. I don't see what that has to do with the present discussion. |
@Kilode? Here's the story from the press: SSS probes leakage of security report on Aregbesola •As gov visits top security chiefs in Abujahttp://tribune.com.ng/index.php/news/39511-sss-probes-leakage-of-security-report-on-aregbesola-as-gov-visits-top-security-chiefs-in-abuja |
Beaf, Where you dey get all these detailed and specific information from? and you said you don't work for this government?
I don't work for govt bro, that info is publicly available in the press. I'll get a link when I find one. |
salakobaba: Yes State of Osun, that's how we refer to our state now.No let SSS come pack you by mistake o! ![]() Funny stuff! |
omar22: Alonso's F10 got better as the season got on in 2010 and the RB6 suited Webber's driving style when you look at the amount of crashes Vettel had that season. Vettel sticks to the perfect driving line, Lewis glides into corners actualy Lewis drives as if he is driving a go-kart. And yes Lewis brakes late but its far from going through a corner more than normal speed. Thats why Newey created the RB7 which has less top speed but the down force is scaryI agree that Alonso's car got better, but it still was no match to Vettels. However, considering the words of his team, we are both right to some degree: "There are some characteristics about the upgraded car that weren't particularly suited to his style of driving which is to carry a lot of speed into the corner," Horner said.http://www.planetf1.com/driver/18227/7677205/-Bulls-to-pursue-W-duct-solution- "Sebastian Vettel needs a car in which certain conditions are met - and our car doesn't have these," Marko has been quoted as telling ServusTV.http://www.planetf1.com/news/3213/7682566/-Rule-Changes-Made-To-Weaken-Bulls- As for why Webber feels more comfortable in the updated car, Marko added: "Mark is less sensitive to the [car's] behaviour. He just needs four wheels, but it's different for Vettel."http://en.espnf1.com/redbull/motorsport/story/76110.html |
kaiter: Just keep your foolishness to Osun State and spare the rest of the country.Exactly! He should tie his troubles firmly to Osun alone and leave out any blackmail attempts that as the case currently is, will only backfire and dig him in deeper. He shouldn't tar anybody else with his filthy brush. @topic Who would ever have believed Aregbesola could sound this civil? Who says miracles don't happen?! ![]() I once told the OP that every shall bow and he flew off the hook. Well, well! Aregbesola was in Abuja yesterday on begging mission's to the IG, the SSS DG and the NSA (Azazi). According to reports, the SSS has also placed Lai Mohammed under investigation to find out how he came to be in posession of certain details of state secrets (the SSS report on Osun). I expect other secessionist loudmouths will be investigated too. To be in opposition does not make one a subversive who challenges the cohesion of the state and denigrates her image (locally and internationally). No individual or group can survive playing rough games with national security. |
OAM4J: Private matter?Nah, we don't waste time praying. @topic Since, the theft of our money has become a "private" matter, it is best that Deltans lobby the UK govt not to release a dime of that money before 2015, lest it too disappears in another "private transaction." ![]() |
otokx: Private matter ke? when he made cash from the sale of vmobile shares owned by delta state.Thank you. Its like he stole in "private," not as governor of the state. |
^ Sql Server has that too, and the express version is free like MySql. Most enterprise level db servers should have GIS. @OP The direction you take might depend more on the platforms you will develop on (Linux, Windows, Android etc). You might also want to look at key-value db systems, like Hadoop, Redis etc; these tend to be between tens and hundreds of times faster and more scalable than RDBS. That way, you can free yourself off being tied to a specific database vendor and express yourself with code instead. |
Ok. Now that many of us have identified areas where our localities generate some money, can anyone tell me why there is rampant poverty and failure? What needs to be done to turn the subsistence pursuits mentioned into the type of wealth that would make observers bow down in aknowledgment? |
omar22: I agree with all your point up till when you said anyone would win driving the RB7... Its car that hasnt got a great stright line speed but could fly through corners like a tomahawk and not may drivers drives so fast into corners like Vettel and this includes Alonso or Lewis. look how webber struggled in the same car last season.No. Lewis is the latest braker into corners, it is almost certain he would have been faster than Vettel in the RB7. The same goes for Alonso who only had a poor mans version of diffuser in both seasons, yet almost snatched the WDC from Vettel in one. As for Webber, it just proves that both Red Bull drivers have strong limitations, they both seem to find difficulty adjusting to new driving demands. Tellingly, outside of Red Bull, Webber has been bested by his team mates (except once he did better than Coulthard - a fellow journeyman). If I recall rightly too, Vettels team mate was Takuma Sato (dude who could crash while driving in a straight line ), so we are yet to see the real Vettel against a class driver.Perhaps, Vettel would find ways to adapt and excel, we just don't know. In the right circumstances, he can be fast, so maybe he will find a new gear. Lets see. |
Gbawe: Sadly, you speak the truth here. This is what I indicated , before that idiot toe-rag Beaf derailed the thread, when I stated that there are many able to buy 10-20 units at a go. Virtually every Rep and Senator will procure a unit. The likes of David Mark et al can certainly buy a few units in cash. Can you prove that David Mark has anything to do with that project or is that another high story to decieve (like in Osun)? Can you prove that the greater percentage of reps and senators are involved in the scam? 'Operation keep out (or defraud) "charlatans and losers"' (aka, the poor), while name dropping David Mark. SMH |
Gbawe: This is why it is imperative to consider ownership there if one can raise the finance by planning ahead. The palms for example, in Dubai, has seen the likes of David Beckham, Rio Ferdinand and many top footballers investing in residential units. Charlatans and losers will never understand that the world is not full of no-hopers like them. They don't understand what this project is and cannot concieve its scale or success. Best not to pander to ignorance. Is it an exclusive project to keep out "charlatans and losers?" "Charlatans and losers" is your new description of the poor and the hard working taxpayers who will be defrauded by your likes (just like is Osun). |
babaowo: moderators! How can someone view those posts that has been hidden?Lol! See dis man! You wanna see the blood and gore that was spilt here? ![]() @topic It will take decades to build, so will likely not look like anything in the pics. Will it be beautiful though? It has promise. |
omar22: The problem here is that only Vettel could drive the RB7 to victory because it suites his driving style, he is the only one who drives through corners at very high speed thats why he is always able to beat the 1 minute DRS gap even at Spain last year when his Kers wasnt working was still able to pull away from the restThis is precisely why I say he was flattered. A great driver should have a natural feel for any car he is put in. All through Webbers F1 history, he has been something of a crash prone journeyman, yet he has always been a real threat to Vettel. Vettel is like Jensen, they both fall to pieces when the car is not in their sweetspot. Take a look at the likes of Lewis and Alonso; both guys are bad kids who will drive anything damn fast, so far it has wheels. They have been consistently fast, for Lewis it is even more apt; he came to F1 with a very unusual style that sure him drifting sideways into corners and wagging the backend of the car. That was a style that only suited to the old F1 where tyres didn't matter much; however, when changes were made with tyres, dude was still fast; next came the blown diffuser (Vettels love), dude was still fast; blown diffusers are now off, dude is still fast. The same goes for Alonso. This is Vettels year to prove if he is in their calibre or was just helped by a car that at one point was 2 seconds faster than the fastest of the rest. Even Massa would have won the WDC driving that car. |
