All this talk and yip yapping about breaking Nigeria is around the oil revenue. I mean let's be serious. There are laws
that govern Nigeria and they should be followed. The government does not have the right to redistribute the oil from
on-shore drilling  and this means apart from taxes, the Fg should not touch any of it.  The Northerners should not ask for it either.
And for the off shore drilling, it should be redistributed to the whole country since it is the territory of the Nigerian' government. And the Fg
is the only one that should determine how to do so.
Now certain people want it all. They want the Northerners to be completely deprived of any resource from oil drilling. If they had to decide
the North would not get 1 penny from oil just because they live close to the "Sahara".
There are laws, let's apply them. These conferences are all bullshit.
I know someone who grows laws on his guinea corn farm; his wife makes laws with kuli kuli and his cows invent laws every time they shyte.

Its time to start sharing offshore oil based on population - the fairest way to do it.

You can have 100% resource control of resources located within your state, that is only fair. No fisherman in the ND can claim anything far away in the Atlantic where their wooden boat cannot reach. By the time we sit down and redo this derivation, you people may regret calling others parasites.  When we request "May the real parasites stand up", you people may be the responders.

If that happens in the politics section of Nigeria's most active website (NL), then I fear for the levels of ignorance (political and geographic) on the streets.

Gideonyte,
I am not against resource nationalism cos it will reduce corruption where there's no oil but the argument for  resource control is getting worn out and will become stale by the time the real picture of what's going on now comes out,
Right now and at this moment the oil wells belong to the federal government of Nigeria. People have grown up with, and depended on the fact that  the oil belong to all Nigerians, its now left for those who think its fair for them control it to convince others who have grown with a  sense of entitlement to the oil.I think part of the convincing should be the proper usage of the concessions currently enjoyed but a situation where you approach for more concession using this same excuse as before is unacceptable.
The continuous insult and threat being thrown at other Nigerians too won't get them anywhere and that's a fact.
What insult? Telling a "lau lau" parasite that it is a parasite?

Shootout At Lawanson: NURTW Crisis Worsens
Published on March 7, 2012 by

In a manner reminiscent of a guerilla warfare, Lawanson Motor Park and its environs were engulfed in chaos and commotion this morning as two rival factions of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, engaged each other in a supremacy battle over who controls the park.

An eyewitness told P.M.NEWS that as early as 7.30 a.m. there were sporadic gunshots leading to instant closure of shops in the area. Banks around the vicinity also closed their doors to customers.

Passersby and workers who were going to their offices scampered to safety.

It was gathered that the battle ensued between the two factions with each of them wielding dangerous weapons such as, pistols, pump action guns charms cutlasses, knives and axes.

A lady simply identified as Alimot was shot and injured and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Several others were also reported injured.

When P.M.NEWS arrived he scene, armed policemen have already taken over the scene of the battle. The Divisional Police Officer, DPO Itire Police Division, Mr. A. A. Oyekan was at the scene dishing out instructions to his men. There was more reinforcement with an armoured personnel carrier deployed there.

The Lawanson motor park was littered with broken bottles, cudgels, sticks and other weapons used in the battle.

One of the drivers who spoke with P.M.NEWS on condition of anonimity blamed the NURTW crisis on its erstwhile leader.

“Having realised he had been removed as chairman, he sent his boys to take over the park, which we resisted and we shall continue to resist,” the union member alleged.

He added that the sacked leaders tenure was too oppressive as the levy he impossed on them was too high for them to bear.

The driver said some of their members could no longer pay their children’s school fees while the majority are jobless.

After the dust had settled down, some drivers carried placards to protest the alleged intrusion of the Lawanson Motor Park by the ex-leader’s boys. They vowed to resist future attack by the invaders.

As at press time, the situation remained tense. Commuters were forced to move to a far distance to board commuter buses to their various destinations.

Meanwhile, the NURTW faction that carried out the attack were inside the Lawanson Motor Park jubilating that they had succeeded in taking over the park.

Similarly, the unending Lagos Island factional youth gang war, claimed the life of a tailor and resident of Lafiaji, identified as Daniel Adeyemi on Monday.

The incident occurred at about 9 p.m. on Monday at Sangrouse bus stop, Lagos Island, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria.

Eyewitness told P.M.NEWS that at least 20 hoodlums armed with guns invaded Sangrose Market and the bus stop from Beecroft, Osho and other streets, shooting sporadically and firing at the victim who died instantly.

The rampaging hoodlums were said to have capitalised on the removal of Armoured Personnel Carrier, APC and policemen deployed to Sangrouse Market by the police authorities to perpetrate the dastardly act.

They were also said to have robbed shop owners and snatched hand bags of innocent people in the ensuing commotion, while scores of people sustained various injuries.

Narrating the incident to P.M.NEWS at Sangrouse, Adekunle Qudus, who claimed to be a friend of the deceased, said they were having a meal before the incident occurred.

“I and the deceased, Adeyemi, were having a meal of amala at a food joint at Sangrouse bus stop at about 9 p.m. when suddenly thugs numbering about 20 led by some people I recognised started to fire sporadically and they invaded Sangrose bus stop. They shot everywhere and one of the bullets hit my friend, on his chest and he fell to the ground.

“Before we could rush him to the hospital, he died.

“ The hoodlums,” he continued, “capitalised on the removal of the APC tank stationed at Sangrouse Market by the police on Sunday night to perpetrate the dastardly act.

They killed my friend so as to drag Lafiaji youths into the senseless crisis which have claimed innocent lives on Lagos Island.

“Nobody can force us into any meaningless crises, no matter the provocation. This is because we are civilised and nobody can fool us to do their biddings.

“We are now appealing to the government and the police to find lasting solutions to these crises before it gets out of hand. We must realise that life is sacred and people must desist from using the crises to rob and commit other vices,” he stated.

The police have returned the APC tank to Sangrouse as normalcy has returned to the troubled spot.

THERE was pandemonium, yesterday, at the Barracks axis of Lagos-Badagry Expressway, Lagos State, when a police corporal attached to Onireke Division, shot and killed a 56-year-old man, Daniel Nigeria, inside a commercial bus. The policeman, identified as Kazeem Shittu, with Force number 3538000, was trying to extort N50 from the bus conductor.

He was said to have accosted the commercial bus heading to Mile 2, at a checking point mounted in front of Onireke police station and ordered the bus conductor to pay him a N50 fee for plying the route. Time was 8.30am.

Killing of NPA staff: The conductor reportedly refused to obey the order and was threatened by the police officer who later corked his AK-47 rifle and shot at him. Eye witnesses said the bullet missed the conductor and hit the passenger (Daniel Nigeria) who sat beside him on the chest and he died. Witnesses told Crime Alert that the sight of the innocent man lying on a pool of blood infuriated residents, traders and passersby, who spontaneously rose and protested the killing.

Firstly, it would take an unintelligent person to declare Presidential ambitions 3+ years away from the next elections. Corrupt as he might be, Fashola is very far from being unintelligent. You don't give your opponents above of 3 solid years to create water-tight strategies to maroon and bury you. Powerful as the Presidency is, even GEJ will not mention 2015 ambitions at this time.

It is either there is a split in ACN and they are willing to spill blood in the press, or someone is flying a targetted political kite in search of a particular result.

A four bedroom in a nice neighborhood in Manhattan costs between $1 million and $65 million. Our thieving masters can't steal our heritage right under our noses and then we believe it when they tell us the billy-goat ate it.

The US happily turned a blind eye to Teodoro Obiang's stolen loot being laundered through US banks for decades until 2004 when he practically transferred almost all of Equatorial Guinea's treasury to the Riggs Bank in Washington DC and then the stink was too high to politely ignore. Let's not mistake a self-serving endorsement of a kleptocrat as evidence of the kleptocrat's virtuousness. Madam is a bloody thief! The sooner we all embrace this, the better.
This is frankly put; stup!d.

Firstly, the flat in question has nothing to do with the minister, but (if it exists) is connected to her neice who is married to a topshot.

The only groups that hate Allison Maduaeke with a capital H that they are ready to lie and forge can be found in ACN (Oando claims the biggest subsidies amongst a plethora of things) and the core-Northern elite (who think oil is their birthright). They absolutely hate the reforms in the oil sector that being championed by Deziani Allsion Madueke.
Both these groups will do all in their power (especially outside of the book) to smear her good name.
