kenis:Don't mind the mud munchers, if they had really needed proof, they would have applied and had more credibility than the winsh level they now have, to report anything untoward. Normal service resumes. There is really no opposition, other parties need to learn to step away from being regional minnows. |
oyb:I wonder if you or your friends and family have such documents to their name? I doubt it, so what is your hypocrisy about? Tomorrow, you will open your mouth like a wide basket to argue about corruption, yet you are corrupt yourself. What greater definition of hypocrisy is there in the World? It is the fact that you have been caught pants down yet again, promoting all that is evil and criminal thats making you so foul-mouthed. But you are only deceiving yourself, the fetid stench of hypocrisy flows out each time you open your beak. Tinubu is a criminal and a fraudster with forged degree's, forged age, forged name, forged origins, forged family history etc. His day will come, just like Ibori's did. |
CyberG is getting sick of his own ethnically bigoted filthy mouth! |
Is there any non-Muslim ACN governor aside Adams Oshiomole? Also, aside Joe Igbokwe, there doesn't seem to be many non-Muslims in the top heirachy of ACN either. Political parties need to balance representation. |

moderatorr:Like I pointed out to Omo to dun, those websites are not running on PHP. They have their backends in proper technologies. My guy, since I've been a member of NL, it has been hacked quite a few times. I wouldn't do it, cos I love the site. . . .But here's a little unscientific research anyone could try, do this google search for SMF (which runs NL): http://www.google.com/search?q=smf security#q=smf+security&hl=en&tbo=1&output=search&source=lnt&tbs=qdr:y&sa=X&ei=d0zbTtKWKoOatwf-mr3sAQ&ved=0CAgQpwUoBQ&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&fp=94ae66b5e87eee2a&biw=1424&bih=757 Then do the equivalent for an equally popular (and badly written) .NET forum software, YAF: http://www.google.com/search?q=yet another forum security#q=yet+another+forum+security&hl=en&tbo=1&output=search&source=lnt&tbs=qdr:y&sa=X&ei=d0zbTtKWKoOatwf-mr3sAQ&ved=0CAgQpwUoBQ&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&fp=94ae66b5e87eee2a&biw=1424&bih=757 Which of the above links inspires more confidence at first glance? The only problems you will see with YAF are from CCP replacing the authentication system with their own stuff which is not YAFs fault. With SMF on the other hand, the thing is being patched left right and center, because of security holes. Paypal job postings always ask for C++/Java. Thats a clear pointer to what runs their backend. As for Drupal, Joomla etc, those frameworks all have very weak security. Google it and see; anyone can walk into sites built on them. |
@ Beaf You still haven't proven that Facebook wasn't written in PHP. It was, but the more complex part (as per the article by the inventor of Hip-Hop, Haiping Zhao) is ultimately compiled to native code to reduce the load on the server. What about the others? Back it up please. I cannot take your word for it. And which sites have you gained unauthorized access to? I have the source code to the wiki platform---everyone does since it is open source--and it is entirely written in PHP. Have you hacked them? Since I am a newbie in Web development, have you hacked my site? What notable sites use ASP.net? Educate us please. Do not say, "Dude, all the websites you listed, " and then show us no proof. Yahoo does not run Java, Flickr does not. Wikipedia does not. Where in the world did you get your information? Show us links. Anything please. At least, you did not contest the FACT that the most popular CMSes were entirely written in PHP. By the way, Facebook started using HipHop in 2010. Before then it was simply PHP without any transformation. I don't need HipHop. Most folks do not since we don't get 400 billion page request per month! So you see. The programmers at Facebook do not write C++ code. They write it in PHP. Then it gets transformed.
lol! I wish my quote had been released, but the spambot is a biased PHP lover. Facebook developers make it quite clear that they only use PHP as a templating engine. The engine room is 100% C++ (and Java in a few areas). I can't put in any links now, cos of that rubbish spambot, you just want me to be banned again . All you need do is google up "facebook web architecture" and all will be revealed. if facebook had been written in Java or C#, it wouldn't have needed any tranformation; those two beasts have the grunt to shoulder the burden, whereas poor lil PHP just buckles. Before HipHop, facebook PHP talked directly to C++. Facebook has always run on C++ with PHP as a templating engine. |
wesley80:Gbawe a hypocrite and shameless promoter of a criminal. What is the difference between Ibori and Tinubu when both are common thieves and fraudsters? |
@OP The norm on this site, especially in this section, is that folks will tender their opinions without facts to back them up. But since they are opinions, they actually do not have to provide evidence to support them; however, given that we are programmers and not philosophers or historians, we owe it to others to carefully present our point of view without bias and without sophistry. The following sites were built using PHP (wherever there is doubt, I'll provide a link)
[li]Facebook[/li] [li]Yahoo Source[/li] [li]Wikipedia[/li] [li]Flickr Source[/li]
The most popular CMS in the world---WordPress---uses PHP. Some other popular PHP-based CMSes---listed in alphabetical order---which are also noteworthy:
[li]Drupal[/li] [li]Joomla[/li] [li]Liferay[/li] [li]Media Wiki[/li] [li]Moodle[/li] [li]Movable Type[/li] [li]Pligg[/li] [li]TYPO3[/li]
As per security issues, this has more to do with the programmer's negligence or refusal to follow the best programming practices than innate design issues or weakness of PHP. I started learning PHP in August and I have created a site http://www/amebopost.com in PHP without using any CMS or WYSIWYG software. I invite anyone to steal my database or any of those sites listed above. Even nairaland relies indirectly on PHP since it was created using SMF, which in turn was created with PHP. Professor Beaf has always vehemently denounced PHP, but he has yet to show us the databases of any PHP sites that he has gained unauthorized access to. I will not say that PHP is better than ASP.net; I am much better than that. Only baby programmers do that. What I will say is that PHP has been tried and tested by programming gurus around the world and it has never failed them nor has it failed me. I will advise the OP to pick either and master it because that is what really matters---mastering a particular language rather than wasting time in arguing about who has the bigger dick.
Dude, all of those websites only present PHP as a front; they all run on a mix of other better technologies like Java and C++. PHP is too slow and buggy to even contemplate carrying the sorts of loads those websites come under without servers randomly blowing up before the huge meltdown. Lol! Lets take facebook as an example, it runs on C++, not PHP: HipHop for PHP isn't technically a compiler itself. Rather it is a source code transformer. HipHop programmatically transforms your PHP source code into highly optimized C++ and then uses g++ to compile it. HipHop executes the source code in a semantically equivalent manner and sacrifices some rarely used features — such as eval() — in exchange for improved performance. HipHop includes a code transformer, a reimplementation of PHP's runtime system, and a rewrite of many common PHP Extensions to take advantage of these performance optimizations.http://developers.facebook.com/blog/post/358/ The stuff below is even more detailed. Facebook runs on C++: From various readings and conversations I had, my understanding of Facebook's current architecture is:http://www.quora.com/What-is-Facebooks-architecture |
aurenflani:Yeah, even Cameroon can repel the US. Tell me more about it. There is a state of deception called, "wild dreams." Wether you love or hate the US, its best to accept stark, nekid reality. Its like that funny obowumi talking about MIG's, as if Libya didn't have them. ![]() |
Special status in what sense? Mr. Lateef Ibirogba has not made a very muddled submission; if it is to further drag us down the path of unitary govt by demanding more Abuja money, then its a solid NO. What we all require is true federalism that will provide greater regional autonomy, self reliance, cultural preservation and vastly improved productivity. Anybody angling for more money from the FG, is only to be suspected of wanting to pad their pockets, rather than develop a self reliant state that contributes taxes to Abuja instead of thrusting forward a beggars bowl. |
^ it just shows how mypopic you are when it comes to international security matters! I think it is better you settle in with your local "MEND" security know how and stay clear of the international security/intelligence issues. FYI, the US raid in Pakistan was sanctioned by the highest level of Pakistani intelligence. If you were not told by your "heresay" Nigerian press, know it now that the Pakistani ISI agents along the Afghan boarder saw the two chonooks take-off from the US base in Afghanistan using thier night vision binocs! FYI, Pakistani have your so called MiGs as well! Not old Gen MiGs but the next variant to the recently developed MiGs. You'r really a Fulani beaf! Showing US a RPA/drone! Haha if only you knew that drones are usless without foot soldiers aka 'first eye' which is what the Pakistani army has been doing for the US. Ask yourself, why is russian not investing in drones technology like the US? Instead they are busy working H/ICMVRs which is the future! Maybe you need to also refresh your memory that the base where the use lunch these drones from are operated jointly by both the US special forces and the Pakistani ISI. Need I remind you that Pakistan posess missiles technology with capabilities to develope, test, deploy and lunch without any external assistance! Oh, remember them nukes?, they got 'em too!!
You are just so stup!d, its critical. If the Bin Laden raid was okayed by Pakistan, how come they are so angry about it? You people just like to make up kindergarten tales and tell foolish lies. If you know everything about modern warfare, would you be the fool that orders Pakistan to retaliate against the US? Or maybe you don't realise that the US has phucking up Pakistan for donkey years now. The kind of foolish sound bytes that general is emitting now is an old habit of empty rants that started in Musharraf's time. You know all about modern warfare, yet you imagine that the US would need to put marines on the ground in Pakistan. For what purpose if I may ask? Any exchange of fire would simply be to punish the sort of puny attempts the general is promising; the sort of weak action that saw 24 Pakistani soldiers meet their untimely ends just a few days ago. I wonder why their great weaponry did not save them. Maybe you know, fool? It is good to talk foolishly about MIG's, because it clearly shows that you lack knowledge of military platforms; keep on talking like a fool, that way I can expose your shallowness even more. Maybe you will soon be lying about Pakistani stealth jets and missiles that can hit the Moon soon. You are just as daft as a stone and getting worse. |
Odunnu:Abi o! We no go hear word again, because Sylva don turn to angel Gabriel, grand releaser of wikileaks! ![]() How your side, Odunnu? |

This might be helpful to someone: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/194812/list-of-freely-available-programming-books Add other sources if you can. |
afam4eva:The truth is bitter. I don't mean to insult anybody, but even if open source is the alure behind PHP, rather than prop up a badly designed and poorly concieved vehicle, PHP devs can migrate to more solid frameworks like python, Ruby, Smalltalk, Java etc. PHP started as a Perl hack by someone who wanted an easir life with Perl and it still bears all the hallmarks of a hack. All other languages were purposefully designed with set goals and security in mind, even JavaScript. It is PHP's adhoc origins that make it the most hackable framework by far. |
afam4eva:I'm talking about web apps. Both Classic ASP and PHP are damn useless and cannot be compared with ASP.NET. Dude, its like comparing an F-16 with a catapult. |
First of all good peeps, ASP (better known as Classic ASP) is not the same as ASP.NET. They are totally different things altogether. ASP.NET is as superior to ASP as a Mercedes Benz is to a bicycle. On the other hand ASP and PHP are in the same group of poor technologies which are no better than JavaScript. Both are based on interpreted languages, e.g, the hideous VbScript for ASP (or even JavaScript --at this point, Beaf vomits--). Why would anyone want to write apps in a scripted language? ![]() The case for PHP is even worse; it is the most insecure technology ever presented with a serious face. All a hacker (even a pimpled kid) has to know is that a site was built with PHP and they can be sure they will cart home the database long before nightfall. Thats what you call, useless technology. There is no way to compare ASP.NET and PHP, its just ridiculous and annoying to attempt it. A better match would be ASP.NET vs Java or even C++ (for backend code). |
obowunmi:True, and its because of people like you who howl all day and throw insults. It would be a great day when you decide to move into a zoo. |
^ You've always been a low grade id!ot, so keep flying the flag it really suits you. ![]() aurenflani:Yet the US went deep into their country, spent two hours on the ground, expired Ben Ladin and carted away computers and sundry evidence. . . All a stone throw away from one of the biggest Pakistani military bases? I'm sure the US is so scared that they sent helicopters into Pakistan in a raid that resulted in 24 deaths. When it comes down to hard facts, you will find that Pakistans best planes are F-16's which the US is hardly scared or in awe of (maybe to you they are, though). When you rush to insult people, better make sure you are not presenting youself as a fool. Do you even understand what the thing in the pic below represents? Lol! https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/b1/First_MQ-9_Reaper_at_Creech_AFB_2007.jpg/800px-First_MQ-9_Reaper_at_Creech_AFB_2007.jpg |

Jonathan intensifies consultations on subsidy removal By Yusuf Alli, Managing Editor, Northern Operation President Goodluck Jonathan Despite a shocking resolution from the House of Representatives, President Goodluck Jonathan has intensified consultations over plans to withdraw fuel subsidy. The President is also weighing options on when and how to withdraw the fuel subsidy. But the President may extend his consultations on subsidy withdrawal to all the political parties, including the opposition, next week. A meeting with the parties is billed for Abuja on Tuesday. There were strong indications last night, however, that one of the options borders on the need for the presidency to make the withdrawal of subsidy "purely an executive decision." The President is under pressure to adopt executive fiat to withdraw the subsidy. The House of Representatives had on Thursday technically rejected the removal of fuel subsidy by describing the proposal from the executive as "premature." According to findings, the presidency was shocked by the alleged 'cold' attitude of the House to the proposal on subsidy. "In spite of the resolution of the House of Representatives, we have not heard the last word on the matter. "You should remember that the Nigerian Governors Forum has endorsed the withdrawal of fuel subsidy. Whatever the House said as being premature, we consider it as its own contribution to the debate,” a top government source said. "The President has rather decided to intensify consultations with stakeholders on the merit of the withdrawal of the subsidy. Even the President will still ask the House to have a rethink when it gets all the statistics,” the source added. He said Jonathan was also likely to table the issue before all political parties in the country when he has audience with them next week. "The audience with parties, especially the opposition, is part of a broad-based consultation programme designed by the presidency. "The President does not want the withdrawal of fuel subsidy policy implemented with shocks for Nigerians," he said. Another reliable source in the presidency added: "The government will certainly go ahead with the withdrawal of fuel subsidy by making it an executive decision after due consultations. "Once it is made an executive decision, whoever is aggrieved can go to court. As it is now, the unresolved challenge over fuel subsidy removal is affecting the presentation of the 2012 budget. "The government cannot be grounded over an issue that is purely executive in nature." Responding to a question, the source said by "virtue of Section 16 (1 and 2) of the 1999 Constitution as amended, the President can take an executive decision to withdraw the fuel subsidy. Section 16 (1) (b)(c) reads in part: "The state shall, within the context of the ideals and objectives for which provisions are made in this Constitution -control the national economy in such manner as to secure the maximum welfare, freedom and happiness of every citizen on the basis of social justice and equal of status and opportunity.” Section 16(2)( c) says: "The state shall direct its policy towards ensuring that the economic system is not operated in such a manner as to permit the concentration of wealth or the means of production and exchange in the hands of few individuals or of a group." Responding to a question, the source added: "The withdrawal of fuel subsidy is just now a question of when and how. That is why the President is being calculative in order not to hurt the system." The Federal Government is proposing N4.8trillion budget for 2012 with a $70 to $75 benchmark price for oil. Apart from the take-off of the Sovereign Wealth Fund, the government is also proposing savings of about N1.2trillion from the withdrawal of fuel subsidy. But most senators and House members have asked their leaders to prevail on the President to meet four conditions. The conditions are: a publication of the list of the beneficiaries of past fuel subsidy;
[li]presentation of facts and figures or statistics on the true picture of the amount of fuel subsidy[/li] [li]a comprehensive release of palliative measures Nigerians will enjoy if the subsidy is removed and Action Plan to make the measures work[/li] [li]and concrete work plan on how to make all refineries function at optimal level.[/li] [li][/li]
|
Okonjo-Iweala gets ultimatum on fuel subsidy report By Onyedi Ojiabor,02/12/2011 01:00:00 Okonjo-Iweala The Senate ad-hoc Committee probing the management of fuel subsidyfund yesterday asked Finance Minister Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala to tender before it details of the audit report of fuel import in the last 11 months. The demand is coming even as the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiatives (NEITI) faulted the management of the fuel subsidy fund. Chairman of the committee, Senator Magnus Abbe, gave the directive during its resumed public hearing at the National Assembly. Abe warned that should the minister fail to produce the required documents within seven days, the committee might be forced to issue a subpoena to that effect. Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala told the committee that the quantum of fuel import is being recorded by auditors engaged by the Federal Government, but the panel insisted on access to the report to enable it carry out an inquest. She requested for time to tidy up the records. But the committee insisted she will be given only seven days. The committee also took up issues with the difference between the amount voted for fuel subsidy for 2011 - about N245.9bn - and the N1.34bn so far spent. Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala told the committee that the Ministry of Petroleum would be in a position to explain the difference. The Minister insisted that the removal of the fuel subsidy remains the best option in the circumstance. She noted that the poor masses would be the beneficiaries, if fuel subsidy is removed. She said: “We want the poor to benefit from the subsidy, but as it is now, that is not the case. It is our neighbouring countries that now buy it at cheap price and sell at high price. We are subsidising for them. If we must subsidise, it has to get to the poor.” Also responding to a question on alleged plan by the Federal Government to remove subsidy on fertiliser, the minister said; “We are not removing fertiliser subsidy. We are only restructuring the way it works. We want a situation where the larger population of the people who should benefit actually get it and not a few people hijacking it.’’ Minister of Petroleum Resources Mrs Diezani Allison-Madueke promised that new refineries being planned by the government would be properly done. She noted that contractors who handled the old refineries were being engaged for the projects. NEITI handed down a damning verdict on the management of fuel subsidy. In a report presented to the committee by the management of NEITI led by Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, the body observed that ‘’under normal process, subsidy payments should be made from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) through the Petroleum Support Fund (PSF). |
Sokoto governorship poll: Jonathan sacks minister over ambition By Yusuf Alli, Managing Editor, Northern Operation and Vincent Ikuomola, Abuja2 hours 56 minutes ago A few hours after he was relieved of his appointment, a former Minister of Sports, Alhaji SuleimanYusuf, has denied being sacked, saying he tendered his resignation letter to President Goodluck Jonathan. It was, however, learnt that Yusuf was sacked by Jonathan for allegedly obtaining a governorship nomination form for the forthcoming governorship election in Sokoto State without consulting the President. According to a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, the sack was with immediate effect. The President said he was removed “to afford him the opportunity to focus fully on the pursuit of his declared political ambition.” It was gathered that by obtaining the form, his ambition has pitted Jonathan against Northern governors who have vowed to resist any attempt by the Presidency to deny Governor Aliyu Magartakada Wamakko a second term ticket. In a swift reaction, his spokesman, Mr. Adebisi Adekunle said: “There is no iota of truth in the insinuations that Alhaji Suleiman Yusuf was sacked. He voluntarily resigned from the Federal Executive Council to pursue his governorship ambition. “I think the ex-minister gave the President a notice to quit about two weeks ago. He remains committed to the pursuit of his governorship ambition.’’ It was, however, gathered that the President might have sacked Suleiman for “embarrassing the Presidency.” The source added: “His ambition has created a wedge between the Presidency and northern governors. The manner in which Suleiman presented his nomination made the public to believe that he is an anointed candidate of the President. “The President has spent the last few days to clear the air that he has no business with Sokoto politics. Yet, he is being accused of plotting Sylva’s treatment for Wamakko. “The security implications of an implosion in the North-West, especially the seat of the Caliphate, made the Presidency to disown Suleiman.” http://www.thenationonlineng.net/2011/index.php/news/28467-sokoto-governorship-poll-jonathan-sacks-minister-over-ambition.html |
I would support such a move, but who would carry it out? Amnesty International is big enough to attempt it themselves and leave Africa out of such scheming. |
The silly general obviously thinks NATO is like their neighbour, Bangladesh. The day they fire back with their full strength is the day they will be shocked to a standstill. There is no point hosting terrorists and threatening their victims with a shootout. |

jensinmi:The truth of who fiddles Nigeria will come into the open with that list. You will also notice that those who scream loudest against the removal of the subsidy are reps of those companies. Does the average Nigerian who refuses to read know that during Abacha's regime, with Buhari at the head of the PTF racket; the refineries were deliberately run down and monies for their turn around maintenance routinely vanished into thin air? But wait for the cracker! At the time this lot were running down our local refineries, Abacha actually used FG funds to build a personal refinery in Sierra Leone, so he and his cronies could milk the nation dry as a fuel importers! That refinery was acquired through the vehicles, Integrated Investment Trust Limited and Nasimatume Investments Limited jointly owned by Abacha and his National Security Adviser, Ismaila Gwarzo. Needless to say, the Abacha refinery in Sierra Leone is now cobwebbed. Many of our ex-generals are in similar rackets, they destroy the refineries at home, while having shares or ownership of refineries abroad to milk the nation dry. Behind those names listed, is an ex-general or two. Now for the clanger! Guess who helped Abacha fund the that refinery and suck the blood of the common man? TINUBU! Through his Oando front, he got 24% ownership of the Abacha refinery. Is it any surprise that Tinubu pressed for a deal to trade SW votes in return for the right to choose the minister of petroleum? When he didn't get that crazy demand that would finally have wrapped his blood sucking tentacles around the country and Deziani was deftly picked instead, we suddenly started seeing all sorts of paid slander articles in the press. Deziani promised to carry out deep reforms and she is doing it quite well, thank you! Babangida also built private refineries with govt money like Abacha, to enjoy the same "subsidies" on the sweat and blood of the common man. His refineries were in Ivory Coast and Benin Republic. We have had presidents who have industrialised foreign countries, while phucking up Nigeria. |
