ode remo:He is expected to say so as a member of another political party. Why should what he said be erased? Not everybody is a hypocrite; it would be crazy for anyone to deny that there is corruption in any political party, including the PDP. It is only hypocrites that point fingers solely at the PDP, when corruption is everywhere and not something limited by ethnicity, region, political party or religion; it is a Nigerian problem that we best be truthful about, because that is the only way we will develop the necessary groundswell to slay the beast. Let us not be ethnically driven hypocrites like koruji, who can only see corruption in ethnic groups outside his. maybe he will create a new anti-Ijaw thread tomorrow, its his sad hobby. |
Another nice one. That will take us very close to 5000MW, if all goes well, there will be minimal blackouts during the xmas - new year period. Fresh Air! ![]() |
Lol! Or you want me to provide links to prove that you are both a liar and an ethnic bigot? Every view you propound on NL is driven by bigotry, that is why you scream to high heavens about the likes of Ibori, only to id!otically suggest that Tinubu bribe his way out of trouble. It is also why you tell lies. You are an unprincipled disgrace. |
gabng:It is a search and rescue / air ambulance for the army. In other words, it will come fully equipped with infrared and various types of radar and computer systems; that is aside from the emergency medical equipment it will also carry. It is quite reasonably priced. The approval for the Bell Search and Rescue Helicopter Model 429 DPIFR EMS said to be fitted with emergency medical facilities would be used to rescue people from accident points and save more lives by NEMA but would be available to the military services. |
koruji:When you aren't posting your ethnically bigoted anti-Ijaw threads, you are telling lies and shamelessly supporting corruption. You jump on each thread to hurl insults, because you do not have any worthwhile social or moral capacities and you also lack the intellect and principle to engage in a civilised manner. Yesterday, you did the very same thing and you were caught telling incredible lies about things and places you don't know about, all in your desperate bid to promote corrupt men; an adult shouldn't be caught lying. Here you are today, doing your usual unprincipled crap and praying that Tinubu should offer bribes to get out of any trouble. Take a leaf from the principled stand of the Northern ACN and change your ways for the better. You are a disgrace, just like your master. |
Power supply to increase by 600MW this month -FG Written by Paschal Okeke, Abuja Thursday, 01 December 2011 THE Federal Government plans to add 600 megawatts to the national grid this month, to meet the target it set for itself with regards to electricity supply. The Chief Executive Officer of the Shiroro hydro power station, Mr Daudu Abdulaziz, made the disclosure when the Minister of State for Power, Mr Darius Ishaku, made a routine tour of the station. Abdulaziz said the 600megawatts was coming from Shiroro hydro power station where an abandoned unit had been overhauled and is ready for operation. The minister commended the CEO and staff of the power station for the overhauling of the gas turbine, and advised them to ensure that they become part of the history in the making in that sector . On the issue of privatisation, the minister told them that the Federal Government’s privatisation exercise was with a human face, urging them to ensure that their allotted shares in the privatised entities were fully made use of. He said the technical staff would be needed to continue the work, hence the setting up of the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria for training of personnel in the power sector According to him “the government is making the institute a world-class manpower capacity building centre for a sector that will determine the growth and development of Nigeria.” He noted that the deployment of soldiers in power stations nationwide was government’s proactive response to the security of life and property of its citizens, stressing that “no responsible government will fold its arms and relax on the issue of security of its huge investments.” http://tribune.com.ng/index.php/news/32118-power-supply-to-increase-by-600mw-this-month-fg |
^ Lol! Go and discuss how to give bribes in the dark and scream at "corruption" in daytime. Hypocrite. |
They look like Nairalanders. Has anyone been missing of late? ![]() |
koruji:I would suggest you become as principled as the Northern ACN members. What you posted is absolutely shambolic, two-faced and disgraceful. You are really entertaining, though! Is the best you can do to suggest that Tinubu bribes his way out of any trouble he might find himself in? Thats crazy! Tomorrow, you will be the first to jump up at some far out rumour and begin screaming your lungs out about how corrupt Nigeria is. Hypocrite. |
bookface:Whats wrong with the current process? Sir, the current process forces Nigeria to import wheat. Why import wheat when good old cheap and abundant cassava is good enough? If incentives are given to those who produce the new cassava bread, another major drain on the Nigerian wallat would have been dealt with; even better, we would suddenly have a new market for our peasant farmers. It is even more important when GEJ has made cassava the cornerstone of our agric policy. It grows well here in abundance, so why not harness it and become an exporter of cassava and cassava related products like bread? Also, you never know what fresh scientific breakthroughs can come out of research into cassava; maybe we might even be able to totally eliminate the need for wheat in bread. I only pray that places like FIIRO at Oshodi are adequately funded, there is a lot of great stuff gathering dust on their shelves. |
Also the Minister of power also brought a memo to Council which sought for and received approval for reconductoring of the 132 KV lines that run from Itu in Akwa Ibom State to Calabar in Cross River State which currently carries 60 KV.Its all great news from Abuja today. Winshes go de vex! ![]() Within 6 months, there should be further leaps in power generation and redistribution. To make the rehabilitation of railway transport national, the Council approved a memo by the Minister of Transport Senator Idris Umar seeking for the rehabilitation of the communication line for the rail that runs from Port Harcourt trough Enugu, Makurdi to Maiduguri covering over a 1000 kilometres for it to become functional again.Next thing, AregbeRASCAL go claim am! ![]() I think we are in for some truly exciting times, especially between now and January when the new budget kicks in and funds become available. |
Very encouraging development. It is with such little steps that countries develop. I am proud. GEJ has pronounced that a new govt policy to encourage the 40% cassava bread is coming out and Okonjo Iweala has been told to finetune it. Really nice. |
Gbawe:Lol! It didn't take much for your inner agbero to pop out, did it? I am only pointing out the obvious. An ethnic bigot is a racist, and an ethnic bigot who points gnarled finger at a racist is simply a forked tongued hypocrite. You are asked a silly question about if I have ever seen you disenfranchising any Nigerian? Strange! I'll leave you to judge that yourself. Did you witness any of the whites captured on the various videos on this thread disenfranchising anybody? They just opened their mouths and let the ugliness roll out, pretty much like you. What will they do in a dark alley way, I guess is pretty much what you would too. Like racists, ethnic bigots believe they are superior to others and will actually kill the same way racists do, witness the various sickening Jos massacres. Gbawe, spare us the sickening hypocrisy and let genuine people contribute. You are no better than a racist. @topic Until we Nigerians collectively denounce the hypocrisy that makes us think we can point fingers, while committing the very same crime, the nation will not move an inch forward. It is the same hypocrisy that makes us condone thieves, criminals and murderers just because they are from our ethnic group; but we will be the first to jump up and pick up stones when someone from another ethnic group does the same. A crime is a crime, regardless of ethnic origins of the criminal. And ethnic bigot is a racist. |
Boko Haram: US considers tough action as SSS parades suspects By Gbade Ogunwale1 hour ago SUSPECTS United States is considering taking a tough stance on Boko Haram, it emerged yesterday. The US House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security released a report yesterday on what it termed the emerging threat from Boko Haram, according to Huffington Post. Boko Haram piqued the interest of some Capitol Hill lawmakers when it bombed the United Nations House in Abuja in one of a series of attacks. The report by the Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence, chaired by Rep. Patrick Meehan, warns against underestimating Boko Haram’s intent and capability to attack the U.S. homeland. It urges the State Department to investigate whether the group should be designated a foreign terrorist organisation. It also recommends increasing intelligence gathering on Boko Haram, including reaching out to Nigerian immigrants in the United States and boosting U.S. government support for Nigerian efforts to counter the group. In Abuja yesterday, the State Security Service (SSS) paraded members of four syndicates, who allegedly specialise in sending threat telephone calls, text messages and e-mails to prominent politicians and foreign embassies for the purpose of extorting money from their victims. Four members of one of the syndicate groups operate from Suleja, Niger State and Zuba in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). They are Stanley Ochuwa, Emmanuel Chinonyerem, Onyedikachi Akpasue and Mathias Akuegbo. Operating under code names of Col. Murphy, Col. Adams, Col. Mordi and Engr. Emma Nwachukwu, the men confessed to sending to prominent citizens and politicians messages to instill fear and cause panic. They send the messages warning their victims that they have been marked for assassination and that they would spare their lives, if the victims could pay a ransom into specified bank accounts. Among the GSM lines used are 08033832929 and 07038867338. The men claimed that they usually obtain the telephone numbers of their victims from documents and complimentary cards taken from refuse dump sites of government ministries, departments, agencies and on the Internet. SSS spokesperson, Ms Marilyn Ogar said some highly placed Nigerians, including an unnamed senator, have fallen victim to the syndicates. Another member of a different syndicate, who operates from Kaduna, Haruna Alhaji Hassan (a.k.a Alhaji Madu Gana) allegedly threatened a former governor, now a senator, a Federal Permanent Secretary, a woman party leader in Maiduguri and a party chairman in Bauchi. According to Ogar, Hassan introduces himself as the secretary of the dreaded Boko Haram sect and usually asks his victims to donate money for the purpose of propagating Islam or risk being bombed. Ogar added that Hassan had received various sums of money, ranging from N30, 000 to N100, 000 from some of his terrified victims through a Union Bank account. A sample of some of his messages from his operational GSM number 08052611833 reads: “We are still aware with you and we will soon get to you. Insha Allah, expect us.” Another suspect, Maurice Efe Lawrence, who hails from Delta State operates from Calabar with three GSM numbers – 08100428701, 08080468686 and 070383912813. He scares victims by threatening to bomb some cities, the SSS said. He usually lists cities, such as Abuja, Port Harcourt, Jos, Katsina, Damaturu, Maiduguri, Lagos, Dutse and Akure. One of his text messages to a director in the Ministry of Information reads: “A bomb attack is to take place on Friday and I have every detail even if you don’t want to be involved, send me the number of any SA or PA to Information Minister.” Lawrence was also said to have claimed through text messages that he has information on plans to assassinate a governorship candidate in Kogi State and an armed robbery in Ondo State. He was also caught with telephone numbers of some prominent politicians, public servants and private individuals which he claimed to have got from the Internet. Another one, Chiwendu Josiah, from Imo State, who works in a cyber cafe in Benin-City, allegedly by sends threat e-mails to foreign embassies, alerting them of pending bomb attacks. The SSS spokesperson said from investigation, it was established that Josiah was the author of the security threat messages that prompted some foreign embassies to issue travel alerts during the last Eid-el-Kabir celebrations. He sends his messages with a cloned GSM number 081881816038 and e-mail addresses; engr-wendy.netguescyber @hotmail.com, book-haram-algaedas@hotmail.com, materp4pee@rmail.com and materp411@yahoo.com. His text messages: “We are Boko Haram, we are coming for you”; “The brotherhood remains one indivisible entity. There is no split and there is no splinter group. Stories of split are tissues of lies by the State Security Service to discredit us. Call on all true faithful who believe in our cause to join us by enlisting as a follower and become a member of the brotherhood in our site.” Josiah is said to have confessed to have been involved in Internet scams since1998. The SSS stated that criminal elements have taken advantage of the current security situation in the country to cause panic and extort money from prominent members of the society. Ogar advised top government functionaries and prominent citizens to be careful how they dispose used documents and other materials containing their vital details.” http://www.thenationonlineng.net/2011/index.php/news/28222-boko-haram-us-considers-tough-action-as-sss-parades-suspects.html |
Kaduna ACN Dissociates Self From Solidarity for Tinubu Maryam Ahmadu-Suka 30 November 2011 Kaduna — The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Kaduna State chapter, yesterday dissociated itself from all the statements and actions credited to the party's leaders expressing or suggesting 'premature' solidarity for former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu, on his current travails at the Code of Conduct Tribunal. A statement by the chairman of the Kaduna chapter of the party, Malam Mohammed Musa Soba called on Tinubu to step forward and clear his name and urged the party's leaders across the country to stop wasting public funds on solidarity jamboree. The Code of Conduct Tribunal sitting in Abuja has been prosecuting the former Lagos governor over alleged possession of 16 foreign bank accounts in the United Kingdom in his name and in the name of his wife and children while in office as governor. The ACN statement said as a party that prides itself in prudence and accountability in the management of public funds, it has a moral obligation to Nigerians to explain the truth. The statement reads in part: "The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) has a moral burden and an obligation to Nigerians to explain the truth or otherwise of the allegations levelled against our national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu by the Code of Conduct Bureau that he illegally operated 16 foreign bank accounts while in office as the governor of Lagos State between 1999 and 2007. "The argument by Tinubu at this stage on the jurisdiction of the Code of Conduct Tribunal is counterproductive and diversionary because a politician of Tinubu's calibre does not need to hide under mere legal technicalities as sufficient proof of his innocence against weighty allegations of criminal wrong doing in the management of public funds. "We have observed with consternation the attempts by certain figures within the ACN to trivialize the trial and make it look like a show of comedy in an attempt to create sympathy for Tinubu and blackmail the nation's entire judicial system. "The ACN should not be seen to be very critical of corruption that has become the trademark of PDP's administrations at all levels while at the same time condoning same and shielding its own from prosecution in the face of apparent need for explanation. Doing so would amount to a double standard and unforgivable game of perfidy and political deception by a political party that claims to be the solution to PDP's misrule. "Consequently, we advice Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to submit himself to the jurisdiction of the Code of Conduct Tribunal and clear his name of all allegations levelled against him if he wants to continue to answer his name as the national leader of the ACN and save the party from further embarrassment and ridicule, instead of playing to the gallery and exposing the party as an abode of graft and ideological inconsistency. http://allafrica.com/stories/printable/201111300275.html |

FG Awards N19bn Contracts for Education, Power, Railways 30 Nov 2011 By Ahamefula Ogbu https://serving.thisdaylive.com/0bef99d6-acf5-4e2c-9779-8fa02ba3fcd4/assets/2609F01.Goodluck-Jonathan.jpg?maxwidth=400&maxheight=540 President Goodluck Jonathan The Federal Executive Council Wednesday approved contracts worth N18, 679,008,074.36 covering purchase of books for primary education in major subjects, revival of railway lines and provision of gas for power stations in some parts of the country. The meeting which was presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan approved completion of purchase of books in mathematics, English language and sciences across the country from primaries one and two to be coordinated by the Universal Basic Education in each state. Also to complete the revival of the longest rail line across the country which runs from Port Harcourt to Maiduguri in Borno State, the Council approved the award of contract for the repairs of the communication line while it approved the purchase of air ambulance helicopter for use by the National Emergency Management Agency. Briefing State House Correspondents after the meeting, Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku, Minister of Power, Professor Barth Nnaji, Minister of Education, Professor Ruqqayaat Rufai and the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mr. Edem Duke said the approvals bordered on things that will improve the welfare of Nigerians. The approvals has N13,803,249,526.56 and dollar component of $31, 456,506.76 while the approval of the payment of Nigeria’s contribution to the setting up of Economic Community of West African Countries (ECOWAS) Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) for 76,538,000.00 Units of Account which represents 31.24 per cent equity in the bank. The decision to provide books for primary schools in the country saw the Council approve 15 per cent of the 2 per cent of the Consolidated Revenue Fund for intervention to fund procurement of instructional materials to enhance quality of education in primary schools. So far primaries three to six pupils had been covered leaving primaries one and to now covered in this tranche. “In order to sustain this laudable programme which aims at ensuring quality basic education in Nigeria in accordance with the Transformation Agenda of the President, and following a memo by the Minister of Education, Council approved the printing and distribution of English Language, Mathematics, activity-based science, Basic Science and Technology and Social Studies Textbooks for primaries one and two pupils, Library resource Materials for Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) students in public schools nationwide by the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) for the sum off N6,638,349,049.00,” Maku said. However, Ruqqayat was later to explain that it covers 34 states of the federation as Lagos and Bauchi States had provided for their schools for the same materials and therefore were exempted. She said a monitoring mechanism has been put in place to ensure the books and other instructional materials did not fund their ways into bookshops. Maku said the contract for the provision of gas to Papalanto power station was revoked following a memo from the Ministry of Petroleum due to delays in the execution of the contract as the power stations in the area were nearing completion without the Messrs Taba Nigeria Limited making reasonable progress on it. To avoid a situation where the plant would be hampered by lack of availability of gas, Council approved the revocation of the contract and its being re-awarded to Morpol Engineering services and Jihin Projects Limited for N1, 015,094,003.11 and $20,234,439.59 with seven months completion period. Also the Minister of power also brought a memo to Council which sought for and received approval for reconductoring of the 132 KV lines that run from Itu in Akwa Ibom State to Calabar in Cross River State which currently carries 60 KV. On completion through changing of the Aluminium Conductor Composite Core Reinforced Conductor, Nnaji said the line can carry 12 KV with the expected coming online of power plants in the area, pointing out that generating without evacuation was a waste. The contract was awarded to Composite Technologies Corporation for $1,627,464.00 with 32 weeks completion period. The approval for the Bell Search and Rescue Helicopter Model 429 DPIFR EMS said to be fitted with emergency medical facilities would be used to rescue people from accident points and save more lives by NEMA but would be available to the military services. “After deliberations council approved the procurement of 1No Bell 429 DPFR EMS Configuration with special equipment and Bell Standard installed kits, avionics, specialized equipment, accessories and spare parts and emergency medical service configuration, in favour of Messrs Sea Jewel Energy Limited in the sum of $9,594,603.17 as foreign currency component payable at the exchange rate at the time of payment and N508,394,035.50 as the local currency component with a delivery period of 8 months,” they said. To make the rehabilitation of railway transport national, the Council approved a memo by the Minister of Transport Senator Idris Umar seeking for the rehabilitation of the communication line for the rail that runs from Port Harcourt trough Enugu, Makurdi to Maiduguri covering over a 1000 kilometres for it to become functional again. “Following a memorandum by the Minister of Transport, council approved the design supply installation and commissioning of new signalling and communication solutions for the Easter line including two branch lies for the ministry of Transport and NRC, in favour of Messrs A3 & O/ANSALDO Ltd., in the sum of N5, 616, 459,436.22 only, inclusive of all taxes with a completion period of 14months. “The project is aimed at addressing the challenges of the on-going rehabilitation of the Eastern Line and to conform to the latest technology and best practices in signalling and communication of rail lines,” the memo said. The Council also commended the Minister of Culture for raising the benchmark of the Abuja Carnival and said that foreign countries have indicated interest in it due to rich cultural content and credited Edem with the success. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/fg-awards-n19bn-contracts-for-education-power-railways/103997/ |

Jonathan Tasks Nigerians over Locally Produced Goods 30 Nov 2011 By Ahamefula Ogbu in Abuja https://serving.thisdaylive.com/0bef99d6-acf5-4e2c-9779-8fa02ba3fcd4/assets/Goodluck-Jonathan-2308.jpg?maxwidth=400&maxheight=540 President Goodluck Jonathan President Goodluck Jonathan Tuesday set the tone for patronising locally made goods when he formally presented made in Nigeria cassava flour bread which he said he will eat till he leaves power and charged Nigerians to tame their exotic taste for foreign goods. He after presenting the bread which he said he has been eating for the past one week, directed the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economic Team, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Minister of National Planning, Shamsudeen Usman, Minister of Trade and Investment, Dr. Olusegun Aganga, Minister of Agriculture Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina and the Chief Economic Adviser to the President, Professor Nwanze Okidigbe to meet and fashion out policies that will grant incentives to users of the cassava flour in their production lines. Jonathan after the presentation opened it and gave some to the Vice President and ate some before other members of the Council opened theirs and ate. He said preference for foreign goods was damaging the economy through importation which must stop for the economy to grow. “When the Hon Minister brought some samples to me about a week ago and that is the only bread I have been eating since this past one week. I think it is proper for us in Council to formally present this bread to Nigerian. I have been eating this bread for the past one week and I will continue to eat only this bread until I leave State House. “We must encourage what we have. Other countries that became great did not wake up one day and become great. If you look at the history of a country like China at a time they closed their door and restructured everything, begin to think again and by the time they opened their doors, the rest is known by all of us. For us as a nation to move forward we must also tame our exotic taste, we must tame our exotic taste. Some of the things we bring from outside is not even as good as what we even have within our country. “And I believe with this, so many of the people who produce bread will start to use different per cent ages of cassava flour. After this presentation, the Coordinating Minister of the economy will meet with Minister of National Planning, Minister of Trade and Investment, Minister of Agriculture and the Chief Economic Adviser to the President to come up with policies that we will adopt to encourage those who use cassava flour for their manufacturing processes and certain other activities that encourage the use of use cassava flour because we have to give them incentives to encourage them,” he said. Jonathan further praised another snack which was made out of Cassava and bean which he said would be good for school feeding since it has all the components of balanced diet and charged that more insight should be given to how best to harness local resources to attend to local needs. Earlier, Adesina had while introducing the product noted that Nigerian was the highest producer of cassava in the world with 34 million tons per annum but regretted that that she adds zero value to product locally. He said processing the product will save Nigeria which spends N656 billion yearly on flour import, create jobs and put more money in the hands of Nigerian farmers which will in turn create wealth since it is a substitute that will be locally produced. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/jonathan-tasks-nigerians-over-locally-produced-goods/103987/ |
I dont normally comment on many articles in this forum but I feel obliged to comment on this one. Its unfortunate that people who have no clue about what has happened and what is happening in Osun State, feel they can ram wrong information and outright lies down our throat. I am from Osun State and I am definitely not complaining about our state governor and his government. This guy is freeing us and our children unborn from suffocating debt the previous administration got us into. A debt of 17b for what? To build stadium, for that alone, I am not complaining. Our state is now peaceful compared to just over a year ago when killing and destruction was the order of the day, the governor himself escaped assassination several times, many people lost their lives especially in Ilesha, including people known to me, for this I am not complaining. The government has been making effort to cut the cost of governance. The governor is doubling as the Commissioner for Works and his deputy is also the Commissioner for Education and they are on one salary, whats there to complain about when we know that for a state to grow, it needs to reduce its recurrent expenditure drastically. Through this cost cutting, the state has saved up 30b for capital projects. We are definitely not complaining. Infact there are so many things we are not complaining about. Things that the PDP had 7 years to do but they simply couldnt.Instead, mediocrity, thuggery and brigandage was foisted on our dear state. However, I dont believe the current Governor is the best thing since sliced bread. He has his own flaws. But I believe he is going in the right direction, he is making the tough decisions and he surely deserved to be given a chance by us(OSUN STATE RESIDENTS AND INDIGENES) and we are giving him that chance. Lets not attempt to destroy a good man through lies and fabrications, let us criticize our leaders constructively to take our nation forward and condemn those leaders who are hell bent on destroying our country. Thanks.
Sir, what does any of the above have to do with the farmers who were beaten up after being 419ed that they had been given free land? Dude, how does the sentimental stuff above connect with farmers being given "free" land in a nature reserve? Please lets learn to stay on topic, don't talk about B when the question is about A. Talk about the land or zap. ![]() |
egift:Lol, you are always present where grey matter is absent. What a thoroughly wikid coincidence! ![]() . . .As useless as IBB. |

The benchside tests showed sp'erm were less able to swim and had changes in the genetic code that they carry. Experts stress this does not mean the same would occur in a real-life setting and say men should not worry unduly. But they are recommending more studies. The preliminary research, published in the journal Fertility and Sterility, looked at sp'erm samples from 29 healthy donors. Each donor sample was separated out into two pots. One of these pots was then stored for four hours next to a laptop that was wirelessly connected to the internet. The other was stored under identical conditions, minus the laptop. The scientists, from Argentina and the US, suspect that the effect seen is unrelated to the heat kicked out by a laptop, although heat can damage sp'erm. Continue reading the main story “Start QuoteThe study is very well conducted, but we should be cautious about what it may infer about the fertility of men who regularly use laptops with wi-fi on their laps” End Quote UK fertility expert Dr Allan Pacey Under investigation The UK's Health Protection Agency has been closely monitoring the safety of wi-fi. It says people using wi-fi, or those in the proximity of wi-fi equipment, are exposed to the radio signals it emits - and some of the transmitted energy in the signals is absorbed in their bodies. However, the signals are very low power. The HPA says there is no consistent evidence to date that exposure to radio signals from wi-fi adversely affects the health of the general population. UK fertility expert Dr Allan Pacey, senior lecturer in andrology at the University of Sheffield, said: "The study is very well conducted, but we should be cautious about what it may infer about the fertility of men who regularly use laptops with wi-fi on their laps. "Ejaculated sp'erm are particularly sensitive to many factors because outside the body they don't have the protection of the other cells, tissues and fluids of the body in which they are stored before expulsion. Therefore, we cannot infer from this study that because a man might use a laptop with wi-fi on his lap for more than four hours then his sp'erm will necessarily be damaged and he will be less fertile. "We need large epidemiological studies to determine this, and to my knowledge these have not yet been performed." He said men should still be cautious about balancing a laptop on their thighs for hours on end. "We know from other studies that the bottom of laptops can become incredibly hot and inadvertent testicular heating is a risk factor for poor sp'erm quality. "There is a case report of a man who burnt his joystick after using a laptop resting on his lap for a long time. Therefore, there are many reasons to try and use a laptop on a table where possible, and this may in itself ameliorate any theoretical concerns about wi-fi." http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-15943816 |
IBB never cared one bit for Nigeria, except as a ready cow to be milked into a state of stupor. In his time, IBB even built private refineries in Ivory Coast and Benin Republic. All with FG money, while deliberately running down NNPC. That was a trend that continued with Abacha (and his poison PTF), who also acquired a private refinery in Sierra Leone with FG money. The acquiring of private refineries abroad was to benefit from importing fuel and multiple "subsidies," paid for with the sweat of the common man on the street, yet some shallow minded cows here would rather side with the instruments of their own enslavement. I weep for this generation. |
