What is most barbaric is that the execution was carried out by the dead mans brother, not even a govt executioner. He has now killed three people, maybe it was fun for him. Saudi Arabia is one of the most backward places on Earth, women are not even allowed to drive, talkless of vote. Wretched people, as eGuerrilla pointed out; they are very good at applying their phucked up punishments only to the poor. |

Ministry officials, contractors face prosecution over Apapa Port road Thursday, 17 November 2011 00:00 HORATIUS EGUA, Abuja *FEC approves co-financing of Lagos urban transport project Top civil servants in the ministry of transportation, along with the owners of a Chinese firm, may be prosecuted, following allegations of connivance in the presentation of false documents to bid for contract for the construction of internal road infrastructure, at the Apapa Ports. BusinessDay gathered that President Goodluck Jonathan has directed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to thoroughly investigate the contractor and the civil servants involved in the scam, and that those found culpable should be brought to book. Investigations indicated that the Chinese firm lied that it had executed a N7 billion road contract in Niger State, and that investigation by the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) indicated that the contractor lied. “The President was angered when he discovered that civil servants assisted the contractor in the falsification of the document to secure the job, and has directed that those involved be arrested and investigated by the EFCC,” a Presidency source told BusinessDay. The contract which will cost the government about N2.2 billion, covers 1.6 kilometres of the internal roads in the ports. Briefing State House correspondents after the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by the President, Emeka Eze, director- general (DG) of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) citing the BPP Act, said as long as the contractor lied over the contract, the company would not be able do business with the government for five years. Eze, who was joined at the briefing by Labaran Maku, minister of information, Idris Umar, minister of transport, Rukkyat Rufai, minister of education, and Akinwunmi Adesina, minister of agriculture said “It is not so much as to how much money would have been involved. It is more of did you lie? Because if you give it to somebody else, you still have to spend money for the person to get the job done. But the fact that you lied. And when you lie under oath, it is a crime under the law”. Eze said the BPP law provides that the company should be barred from doing business in Nigeria for five years, if found guilty, and all the officers involved would be jailed for at least three years, without the option of fine, and a maximum of five years, as well as a fine of 25 percent of the procurement, if they are found guilty. The move, he explained is aimed to further support the BPP’s fight for transparency in public expenditure, and is a clear demonstration of government’s plan to further deepen transparency in public procurement processes in Nigeria. Speaking on the pilot programme for the take off of e-learning facilities in the six geo-political zones of the country, Rufai said the move was to make it easier for Nigerian students to access information in the cyberspace. The take- off universities are the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Federal University, Yola, University of Maiduguri, Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto, University of Uyo and the Federal University of Technology Owerri. Others are the Osun State University, Kogi State University, Adamawa State University, Kano State University, Niger Delta University and Abia State University. Other approvals by the FEC, include the rehabilitation of the Lower Usman Dam, the $100 million French Development Agency (AFD) credit, for co-financing of the Lagos Urban Transport Project 2 (LUTP). http://www.businessdayonline.com/NG/index.php/news/76-hot-topic/29839-ministry-officials-contractors-face-prosecution-over-apapa-port-road |
cap28:How many countries have you heard of, where pilots defect with their toolset? Complete with jet fighters? But maybe you think jet fighters are taxi's you simply scoot from place to place in, or that you can pick anybody of the streets (loyal or not) to represent the flag, take sole charge of multi-million dollar equipment and be relied to die for the flag if need be. But basic questions never occur to conspiracy theorists and men who bark at the Moon. ![]() I would have thought your conspiracy addled mind would reached into your vault of psychedelic tricks and gone for something more outragious like, "Malta is in Libya!" Or, "they were going to help teach Malta how to quell protests with bombs!" Or "the pilots were members of NATO, Obama employed them!" LOLZZZ!!! Its always entertainment guaranteed when we try to school you mentally limp nematodes. ![]() Your brain is so phucked, its a miracle you exist: https://www.naijaurban.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/funny-pics-11.jpg |
Has INEC brought forward any of its officers to face prosecution for breach of trust, election fraud, rigging, falsification, forgery, etc, etc. Now you begin to wonder about this so called man of integrity Prof. JegaI have always been cautious about Delta states politics, because of the an explosive ethnic mix which is further heightened by the fact that the state is governed by an ethnic minority man. However, the judgement of the tribunal raises very disturbing questions that cannot be wished away; these are very powerful questions about legitimacy. It also brings to question, the professionalism and uprightness of the judiciary; but thats just a signal of the wider rot in Nigerian society. The 140,000 INEC registered voters in Warri South makes 7% of Delta states two million total. When a whopping 6 other LGA's are added to the mix, it becomes extremely worrying indeed. That election should have been annulled and repeated; however, I wonder if that would change the result, Uduaghan is not in a hurry to "visit" Ibori. Its a desperate mans fight and woe betide anybody in a drowning mans grasp. I prefer PDP anyday, but not when a man uses in this way to bludgeon the will of his own people. It is for the elders like Michael Ibru and Edwin Clark to sit in a forthright meeting and come up with solutions that will save the state from ethnic cataclysm come 2015. Preferably, they can drag Great Ogboru into PDP where he belongs. lol! |

N37.91b loans: Lawyers abandon Bankole’s trial By Yusuf Alli, 16/11/2011 00:45:00 Former House Speaker Bankole Case reopens in six days FORMER House Speaker Dimeji Bankole and his deputy, Bayero Nafada, are shopping for new lawyers to fight their legal battle. Six days to their trial for alleged corruption, their lawyers have withdrawn from the case. Bankole and Nafada are standing trial at both the Federal High Court, Abuja Division and in the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory. They were arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged inflation of contracts and obtaining over N37.91billion loans during their tenure. The loans were used to pay jumbo allowances to members of the sixth House of Representatives. Part of the loans was a N12billion facility obtained by the House leadership three days to the end of its tenure in May. The allowances were allegedly paid outside the approved Remuneration Package for Political, Public and Judicial Office Holders by the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) and the extant Revised Financial Regulations of the Federal Government of Nigeria, 2009. Although the trial judge at the FCT High Court, Justice Suleiman Belgore, has devoted next week for the trial of the ex-Speaker and his deputy, their counsel sent two notices yesterday, announcing their withdrawal from the two cases. The counsel are Chief Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN), Dr. Awa Kalu (SAN) and Prof. Charles Ilegbune (SAN). One of the notices, dated November 15, 2011, reads: “Take notice that the law firm of Adegboyega Solomon Awomolo(SAN) along with Dr. Awa Kalu(SAN) and Prof. Charles Ilegbune(SAN) herewith withdraw appearance/representation for Hon. Dimeji Bankole forthwith. “Take further notice that all processes be served on him personally or through his appointed counsel.” The lawyers were, however, silent on why they have decided to withdraw from the case. But, according to sources who pleaded not to be named, the accused persons and their counsel had some “irreconcilable disagreement”, which neither side was ready to disclose. A source, who spoke in confidence, said: “The withdrawal is a setback and we are suspecting a ploy to delay or frustrate the case. It is like starting the two cases all over. “When a new counsel comes in now, he will begin a new kind of rigmarole, claiming that he has just been briefed. “It may not be unconnected with the fact that the scenario has changed, with the new practice directive by the Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Dahiru Musdapher.” “And with the withdrawal from the cases by counsel, there is no way the trial of the accused persons can start earlier than 2012 when it is obvious that one of the trial judges has fixed a week for speedy trial of Bankole and Nafada.” Justice Musdapher last week directed that corruption cases must be disposed of by Judges within six-months. The CJN ordered Judges to either conclude corruption cases within the period or strike them out if there is no diligent prosecution. He spoke last Thursday in Abuja at a lecture organised by the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (NIALS) and conferment of honourary Fellowship of the Institute on distinguished personalities. http://www.thenationonlineng.net/2011/index.php/news/26463-n37.91b-loans%3A-lawyers-abandon-bankole%E2%80%99s-trial.html |
Librate:Here is some pretty explosive stuff, there is much more where the exerpt came from: The Gulf war oil windfall is Babangida’s often-referenced loot. Abacha set up a panel headed by the highly respected economist, Pius Okigbo, in October, 1994, to reorganize the CBN. Okigbo’s panel discovered that $12.2 billion of the $12.4 billion accruable from the Gulf War excess crude oil sales was frittered away or unaccounted for, through nebulous or phantom projects that could not be traced. Only $206 million was left in the account.http://www.usafricaonline.com/2010/11/10/looting-of-nigeria-babangida-presidency-or-nigeria-dies-in-2011-by-naiwu-osahon/ |
Tax bill divides Reps Written by Jacob Segun Olatunji and Kolawole Daniel, Abuja Thursday, 17 November 2011 A bill before the House of Representatives, seeking to compel the Federal Government to make payments to state governments of taxes and duties collected by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and other authorities of the government suffered a setback during the second reading as members of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) engaged themselves in war of words. Hardly had the Speaker, Honourable Aminu Tambuwal, asked the sponsor of the bill, Honourable Marouf Akinderu-Fatai (ACN Lagos), to lead the debate on the bill for the second reading when another ACN member, Honourable Kamil Akinlabi, stood up to raise a constitutional order. The bill is entitled: “A bill for an Act to provide for the distribution and payment to state governments of some taxes and duties collected by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) or other authorities of the Federal Government and other matters connected therewith, HB.25-Second reading.” Raising his constitutional order, Honourable Akinlabi maintained that the bill should not be discussed “because it runs contrary to the provisions of Section 80 sub sections 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the 1999 Constitution as amended.” He added that the monthly allocation from the Federation Account to the three tiers of government had taken care of what the bill was seeking. His submission, however, did not go down well with the Minority Leader, Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila, an ACN member who berated the submission of Honourable Akinlabi. In his submission, the deputy House Leader, Honourable Leo Ogor said “Section 80 sub-sections 1, 2, 3 and 4 are inconsequential to the bill under discussion. The Federation Account is distributable, but the Consolidated Revenue Account is different. We should look at it separately. Section 163 of the constitution has given us the full power and we should look at the bill and discuss it again.” At this stage, members had started shouting at the top of their voices against the bill with Honourable Uche Ekwunife asking his colleagues to do away with the bill. Amidst protests, the speaker named a five-member committee to look into the bill. http://www.tribune.com.ng/index.php/news/31398-tax-bill-divides-reps |

On any issue of national importance it is not clear how we Nigerians cannot contribute objectively without deviating from the topic of discussion. Rather than being objective, we prefer abusing one another based on the region and religion. I practically see no hope for Nigeria if we continue to live like this. Nigeria will always be like this, if as Nigerians we do not see ourselves first as Nigerians before seeing ourselves as Hausa, Yoruba or Igbo and as a Muslim or Christian. Libya, Egypt and Tunisia are better than Nigeria in terms of quality of life, yet their Nationals wanted more from their government. But as Nigerians we want the status quo and pretending we need a better life and better Nigeria.Everything in Nigeria is zero sum. There is no longer any objectivity and so many of us seem to be sinking into bestiality despite our "education." You ask a question about A and a person rises to fight you visiously abou B which you know nothing about. You point out that C is positive and someone tells you that C is Ijaw and only MEND comes from that area, or that C is Yoruba etc. You could raise a good point only to be countered by very offensive words that bear no relation with the topic at hand. You have to wonder at times if the collective Nigerian IQ is decreasing, or if morality has been dumped for crude ethnic allegiances. These things have been worsened, because for the first time, a minority man has become President and the "leaders" of certain groups feel they have been left out of the usual old primitive calculations. It is sickening indeed and a dangerous road to travel. At the root of the sudden disappearance of logic, common sense and decorum is ethnic bigotry. We must fight it. |

This is the sort of commendable thing that real African patriots do, they set up campaign pages like this one to save 220 Nigerian illegal immigrants to Libya from execution: http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=7228515974&topic=19148 Real patriots don't make up madmens stories and sell their mum's and kids to the devil like Crap 28. |
@ Mr. Beaf I honestly laugh at what u just wrote above! Put down? Ok o! In a place where you have jobless youths settling differences with anti-aircraft guns trained on each other, where u have everybody jostling to take over the function of the government by force of arms at every level? My friend, what u have right there is a recipe for disaster, even the so called NTC has confessed that they cant take those weapons back (spineless ba.star.ds) may be they want NATO to do that for them too! And please help us beg uncle Jona not to invite France to help us solve (aggravate) our Bk problems o! We can see how they helped Ivory coast in the video above.
I saw your post saying you didn't watch that video to the end. You should have. If you had done so, you would have seen a UN vehicle on fire, and you would have understood why shots rang out. If you attack soldiers, they tend to shoot back. As for Libya, the people made their disision and the streets rose against madness and tyranny. What sort of beast uses jet fighters against unarmed protesters? Do you know how many hundred Nigerians Gaddafi actually executed simply because they were illegal immigrants? Was Gaddafi mad? Judge for yourself: Behold Gaddafi, as "king of kings of Africa." ![]() https://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/44970000/jpg/_44970009_libya466afp.jpg https://www.orijinculture.com/community/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/gaddafi-king-of-kings-2.jpg https://blog.foreignpolicy.com/files/images/090202_qaddafi.jpg |
Me and a group of friends were chased by head hunters in Ilorin. They play very sweet music on their drums, NEVER be attracted to the sound. |
There is nothing worse than repeatedly telling lies; it is bad enough when it is done at home, but to be desperate enough to go as far as tarnishing Nigeria's name abroad is innexcusable, low, unrefined and vile. It has been one false story after the other in a desperately widening slander scandal. "Refineries in Indonesia," "imaginary houses in Austria," etc etc The oil sector is being cleaned up, the loopholes for theft continue to be closed every day. It is no surprise that the angry fightback of the corrupt is being felt in the spreading of rumours and publishing of lies. With the rubbishing of Nigeria's name abroad, IMHO it has become a security problem that needs fixing in parallel with boko haram. Being in opposition does not equate with being a subversive. Politics should be for the benefit of the common man, not a zero sum game. |
Abagworo:Sharap dia! Local politicians are involved too, and the article makes it clear: Boko Haram was relatively unknown and did not have the capacity, means or network needed to orchestrate any serious attacks in Nigerian until it was hijacked by foreign backers and some disgruntled local politicians who have so far provided training, weapons and cash to some local extremists who are presently in hiding and directing attacks. |
Sources present in the closed-door session noted that the anger against the President and his service chiefs started with scathing comments from members of the opposition parties. . .CPC has always been threatening crap with their 3 or 4 senators. It must feel horrible to seek relevance in a losers party. |
sweet9ja:Tell am jare! I don't see how anyone can defend lies as news, only to turn around and scream about corruption eating up Nigeria. |
cjfavour:You conclude by logic that the report is false, yet you also conclude that the woman is covering up? Chei! |
afam4eva:I totally agree with you. However, these people aren't necessarily all foolish, some of them are just following a fad. How can normal people blame a President who is just starting his term for 49 years of misrule; you would think they would even be able to pick a good leader from the past, but they can't. Atiku, Ciroma and co started the trend of abusing a sitting President and the weak minded ones amongst us got impressed. There was a time I actually wondered if that id!otic prof that concluded that Nigeria has an average IQ of 70 was correct; but now after peering underneath the covers I can segregate the bashers into 4 easily identifiable groups: 1. Ethnic bigots 2. Religious bigots 3. Election losers (political businessmen) 4. Id!ots Those outside of the above groups are objective, regardless of their political leaning. |
