This is a very commendable effort. It has been a tough journey to even get adequate gas supply for the vastly improved power generation Nigerians are now witnessing, all our gas had been marked for foreign allocations until 2016 by past governments. GEJ is doing wonderfully to source and supply gas for the plants to run. Enough cannot be said about the person of Barth Nnaji who has gone a long way to making the formerly prostrate power sector rise and begin working.

It will take time, but with each step, we get closer to 24/7 electricity supply.

The id!ot.

Any party that takes Sylva on board is no better than Sylva. It would be better for CPC to keep lying to Nigeria about their fake "anti-corruption" stance than to take on a loser like Sylva.

CPC surely has bigger problems to resolve than going after a corrupt, failed reject to represent them in Bayelsa's election; it is the very same misplacement of priorities and an accomapying litany of catastrophic misjudgements that will see the gross embarrassment of CPC, a national political party, getting evicted from their headquarters in Abuja. How can a political party be so badly run that it gets thrown out of its own headquarters? What a disgrace! But hardly surprising when their poverty stricken decisions are put in perspective. embarassed

CPC Faces Eviction from its National Hqtrs
31 Oct 2011
By Onyebuchi Ezigbo

The leadership crisis rocking the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) has taken a new turn, as the factional leader and Protem chairman of the party, Senator Rufai Hanga, has moved to recover his property that houses CPC’s national secretariat in Abuja.

According to the eviction notice signed by Hanga, his agents would be visiting the party headquarters on December 27 to inspect the property as stipulated in the contractual agreement to ensure that the property is restored to “proper state”.

The notice gave CPC until December 31 to move out of the building or face forceful eviction.

The eviction threat came on the heels of the closure of the CPC’s Presidential Campaign Office located at Wuse II in Abuja following similar request by another chieftain of the party, Alhaji Sule Hamman, to reclaim his property.

The move by Hanga is seen as having a lot to do with the post-election leadership tussle that has pitted the former senator from Kano State against the present leadership of the party.

The building, a two-storey complex located at Plot 1132, Festus Okotie Eboh Crescent, Utako District in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, was acquired by the CPC under a two-year lease agreement for N30 million.

Hanga’s quit notice addressed to the CPC Director of Administration, was delivered last Friday by the Deputy Chairman (South-east) and close confidant of the senator, Mr. Ifeanyi Ozigbo.

In the tenancy agreement for the property, CPC is expected to notify the owner of its intention to retain the building three months to the expiration of the lease period.

However, Hanga said the party’s leadership did not comply with the terms of the agreement, hence he had decided to take appropriate steps to recover his property.

The protem chairman and his group had gone to court to challenge the authenticity of the national officers of the party under the chairmanship of Prince Tony Momoh on the ground that the convention that produced the leaders was illegally held.

Judgment in the case filed against the Momoh-led National Executive Council of CPC has been fixed for November 21.

However, THISDAY gathered that due to the bad blood generated by the leadership tussle and the freezing of the CPC account in three banks, the party was not able to meet up the requirement for the continued use of the party office.

The Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), has described the power struggle between President Goodluck Jonathan and the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on one hand, and the Governor of Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva, on the other, as an act of war against the people of the state and by extension, Nigerians.

Governor Sylva

The Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), has described the power struggle between President Goodluck Jonathan and the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on one hand, and the Governor of Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva, on the other, as an act of war against the people of the state and by extension, Nigerians.
The party has also signified interest in having the embattled governor on its side for the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.
In a press release signed by the party’s National Secretary, Engr. Buba Galadima, and made available to The Nation, the party warned President Jonathan to stop militarizing states where elections are to be conducted.
The party stated that: “no matter how much they try, the PDP and the Presidency cannot succeed in portraying to Nigerians and the World, that what is going on in the Bayelsa governorship primary is an internal affairs of the party.’’
It added that the Bayelsa conundrum is an infringement on fundamental rights of a citizen.

Why don't you guys give us your prediction as per the future of the APGA where Peter Obi and Akunyili were appealing to the most ugly and baser instinct of folks by telling them not to vote for the "Yoruba" Party? Not a crime to love your region and be proud of it. What is wrong and pathetic is a constant desire to only see others as villains while viewing yourself as virtuous , pure and blameless. It is also disgusting that factually , even if you will never see it, you are guilty of everything you put at the door of the SW. Abi the act of Obi and Akunyili is not bigoted? Did Anenih, despite the GEJ camp trying tho appeal to all Nigerians, not threathen any SS candidate who was contemplating voting for a Northerner? Next minute we will hear that Yoruba folks wrote the book on ethnic bigotry!!
Not Yoruba folks, but ACN.
If you keep on referring to Yoruba folks in place of ACN, then you are very firmly justifying the fears of the Middle Belters and core-Northerners.
Ethnic bigotry is ACN's policy, not a Yoruba policy. ACN is separate from Yoruba, however the fact that you see them as one and the same is a definite consequence of ACN's fascist principles that preach sectionalism and weild ethnic bigotry as a primevial campaign strategy.

Beaf looks into crystal ball, throws the gnarled cowries unto the chalk marks and studies the divine configuration. . .

Out of the shrouded mists forms a dreamy vision:
A split within ACN, the Middle Belt and North find living with Tinubu's sectional / ethnically bigoted politics impossible.
The party is rent down the middle! In the SW, the throbbing heartland of ACN opportunities for freedom from tyranny are spotted; half the SW ACN drifts into marriage with Bafarawa for protection; battles rage, blood spills, ACN in the SW splits. The Tinubu faction and the 'national' faction.
It is an energy sapping battle that ends in entropy and decay.

it is pointless tryin to convince you otherwise though, because the disagreement is philosophical. however, i'll repeat the comments of bakare on the election violence
- no form of killing for any reason is justified, so, anybody who kill in the name of watever is a criminal
- the real pple who instigate the violence are the election riggers (jonathan and co). so, hold jonathan/jega culpable of all the killing

on the side note though, i will still hold buhari/bakare culpable because they should encourage protest with killings (don't know if this is practically possible)
Bakare advised voters to go to the polling booths with matches and kerosine (this was aside from his "wild-wild North"wink, its on video tape; anyone that wants to confirm can watch the so-called Vice Presidential aspirants debate.
I wouldn't be shocked if, when everything unfolds, Bakare is found to be connected to boko haram.

Lagosboy:
I think The leadership of ACN will regret this in 2015. ACN will remain sectionally strong if they dont as a matter of urgency concentrate efforts in the northern part of Nigeria. Come 2015 they will start to dance around looking for a party to form an alliance with, it was the same story in 1999 Yoruba vs them , same story in 2003 then the OBJ/Iwu rigging machine swept them aside, same story in 2007 when they formed an emergency party with the northern politicians led by Atiku,Rimi and co, 2011 dancing around with Buhari and finally took PDP to bed.

The same criticism goes to CPC , serious efforts should be made from now to make inroads to the South but then finance might be an issue. There shall be no opposition to PDP so long as the leading opposition parties are only regional champions like CPC and ACN. The two parties cannot merge and might be better off trying to spread their tentacles around.

Bafarawa might have his issues but i agree with him 100% in the criticism of Tinubu and i admire him for not being a pushover like othe politiicians who lick Tinubus arse and oil his ego by not criticising him. In as much as Tinubu controls ACN the way he does the party can never be a party with national spread.
Mint.

I'll add that CPC has only months at best to live, because of the same sort poor leadership issues where a single person is basically the party. We're not even sure they wouldn't be kicked out of their head office buildings in December, because intra party squabbles have led to rent not being paid as well as various other disagreements.
We are seeing the same thing happening with ACN as the great shrink begins with the loss of their members from all 19 Northern states and the Middle Belt, because of sectional / ethnically bigotted politics and the overbearing attitude of Tinubu. It wouldn't be surprising if there is a sudden collapse at some point in the near future, its not even certain that the party will get to 2015. Like any edifice built on fascist principles, at some point, it will collapse under its own weight, its the beginning of that process we are witnessing.

The only good piece of news to have come out of this is that Sule Lamido's name is clean.
