Let's know the worst state capital you've visited and give reasons why you think it's the worst.

For me it's Lokoja. I don't know if there's are two Lokojas but the one i went to is a disgrace to any city in Nigeria. Even Agege is better than it. Infact, any town in Lagos(Egbeda, Iyana Ipaja, yaba) can be the capital of Kogi state. The state looks so dusty, the roads are in horrible shape etc.
You gats to be kidding! huh
No place on Earth is worse than Iyana Ipaja! It is the definition of the word, hellhole.

You really don't know the reason behind the names of people from the niger delta, those names date back to in history during the slave trade and off course we all have family names which is retained thru generations but it does not mean that we do/cannot have first names that are indigenous.
Abeg, end dat gist. I too am from the Niger Delta.
Lets do ourselves a favour and stop naming our kids "Governor, Doctor, I thank God" and so forth, there is nothing like a good old traditional name and identity. Even white people don't answer names like "Ambassador."

There is every pride in giving a kid a traditional name.

@beef Sir,
I wonder what is your purpose of posting this pix here when you very well know that 75% of the primary schools in Nigeria are almost like the one in the photo. In fact, the pupils attending classes in those schools in your pix are actually lucky cause they have a roof over their head no matter how scanty. majority of others conduct their class under mango trees with the black board nailed to the tree while other construct grass thatched huts for classes!

If you are so concerned about the condition of primary schools in Nigeria, i guess all you have to do is include those pictures in your next briefing to the president for his attention! But until you do that, pls keep your romans9:15 compassion to yourself!

Nigeria doesn't need a lamb for a president. its time your GEJ stand up and face the multiple problems facing this country.

He should prioritize some pressing problems of Nigeria:
Security
Power
Education
Infrastructure
He should
Its time for GEJ to be a lion!
Stop being silly for once. It is not the FG's duty to build primary school's, not even secondary schools (except for Unity schools).

I really dislike seeing such heartless posts as yours, which seem to justify the existence of such dumps. I am not aware that 75% of schools in Nigeria look like that and cannot bring myself to comprehend why you think that students who attend such schools "are actually lucky cause they have a roof over their head no matter how scanty. majority of others conduct their class under mango trees with the black board nailed to the tree while other construct grass thatched huts for classes!"
Maybe you would consider your child lucky to attend such a dismal health risk and death trap; most people I know wouldn't.

Are you actually talking about animals or our leadership and societal assets for tomorrow. Dude, you really need to search your heart.
You need to find out why you find the need to deflect the responsibility of the state and local govt to the FG, rather than face up to the gross wickedness on display.

Would you put a pig in that place, talkless an infant?
I pity you.

This is so amusing. I laugh in Ujesa grin grin

I have been restraining myself to contribute to this thread. I wish the people of Osun State well, if truly they are satisfied with their governor. I am in the diaspora but I certainly don't share this "commend" thing at all from the little I see whenever I visit and from what I hear from my people living in the state.
As for this thread, it astounds that the only quotes we ever find in support are from Osun Defenders - a paper wholly set up to prop up and to promote Aregbesola. (Do note that Osun Defender was started as a campaign organ for Aregbesola when fighting to become governor after his "stolen election" and was rabidly critical of the previous governor Oyinlola, so it is really not Osun Defender but rather Aregbesola Defender grin)

In any case my bible says that the truth will from the mouth of two or more people be established , not from only one. Is there any other newspaper that corroborates these Osun Defender stories ? If so please always place the links alongside.
Thank you
Lol! Of course, there is none. But Gbawe just might find something from Ovation magazine! grin

What Is Wrong With Education In Nigeria? A Picture Speaks A Thousand Words

I found these pics on a website. They are of a Nigerian primary school.
Sometimes, you wonder if we really care to be human. At least, what sort of human builds and sends kids to a place like this? What sort of "education" comes out of such dumps? One would even think twice about keeping animals in such a place.
There is a deep wickedness in the average Nigerian that needs questioning.

If Aregbe is lying, why do we have no denials from both the NRC and the PDP in the state, they have actually been quite vocal in their condemnation of the governor, I am sure this would have been an opportunity for them to expose his lying nature.

@Beaf

If Aregbesola mentions Aso Rock alone, the PDP guys will already be in the news repudiating everything he says, afterall, the way you are online is the way they are in print (Compass and Tribune).
Nah, you are wrong, bruv. People everywhere will just crack their ribs with laughter, while those close to him would shed a tear or two for the way he finally lost the plot in public.
Nobody will bother to repudate anything. Imagine if a mad man comes ranting at your gate that he paid people to build your house, would you take him to court? Would you even bother to argue with him?
Aregbesola says he is buying trains and building train lines for the FG, we can only look and laugh. Its a real spectacle! grin

You mean if Aregbesola releases a statement tomorrow that he has bought Aso Rock to use to decorate Osun Grove, the FG should come out and deny it? Lol!

We are in November for Christ sake! You can't be seriously posting stuff about AregbeRASCAL paying salaries for August in November.
Everything about Aregbesola is a lie. The man specialises in the fantastic, imagine how he is claiming FG work as his own, cos all he has achieved in his 1 year as governor, is sending 19 damn bus loads of aluta howlers on a useless mission to Abuja.

There is no politician aside the late Barkin Zuwo that can remotely compete with Aregbe's grand stories.

The whole thing just gets more comical! There is no railway line at Dagbolu, the last time that placed was used by the British colonialists was in 1930 when Hitler was still striving to get his act together as a bad arse!

Suddenly, in comes Aregbe, the story telling capone and claims he has built the railway line, "bought" coaches and wagons to run on the FG's train lines, paid the FG to build Dagbolu train station! Che! shocked shocked shocked

AregbeRASCAL the champion aluta organiser, who sent 19 buses of clowns to fan the criminally inclined hairs in Tinubu's arse at Abuja (while owing workers 2 months salary, and counting), actually "bought" 40 coaches and wagons for the FG to run on FG train lines!

There is also no railway line at Dagbolu, at least, not since 1930.

Very nice comments on Lewis from Alonso!

But the 30-year-old still believes Hamilton, who has endured a difficult year on and off the track, is the man with the most raw talent.

"Hamilton did not have a super season this year, who knows whether it was due to the Pirelli tyres or the fact that with blown diffusers now driving has changed," he explained.

"On top of that, [Hamilton's team-mate Jenson] Button is having a great year. All of this concurred to give the impression that his season hasn't been so good.

"But let's consider India, when he took second place in qualifying. It's like soccer: if Real Madrid or Barcelona are not performing particularly well on a given season, that does not mean that they're not top league.

"In fact, at the next winter testing he [Hamilton] will be the only one I'll be watching closely. The other guys can win if they've got the best car; he's the one who's able to clinch a championship with a car that's not the best."

Those two had an intense rivalry at McLaren that cost the World Championship in 2007, maybe there's love in the air!
