The principle of the autonov seems simple. I believe all Awojobi did was weld in an extra gear box facing rearwards so that forward gears could be used backwards.

The whole idea seems like a huge joke though. Fow example, how would a person taking advantage of the contraptions unconstrained rear direction speeds to charge backwards at 120kp/h steer the damn thing?!!! shocked
Gaddem!
The autonov has two steering wheels, but only one steerable set of wheels! Oti o!
Something tells me any fellow attempting to put the contraption to use and hurtle rearward at velocity, would sooner end up under a sun baked rock.

What is the point of creating a vehicle that can travel fast backwards, yet no one dares use the feature for fear of certain death? Its not only that the autonov has no use, even testing its so called rearward speed would have been a foolhardy enterprise. It is also plausible that it was never tested for fear of immediate death.

From the words of some posters here, you would think the US was coming to steal Nigerian state secrets! A sick joke. lol
A cursory following of wikileaks will show that there is nothing Robin Sanders hasn't been willingly told by Nigerian officials. Americans already control our oil and know every shiit we think is hidden; indeed Hilary Clinton has made the claim on quite a few occasions that foreigners know more about Nigeria than Nigerians.

If they have all these soft weapons arrayed against us, it would be foolish to imagine that they need to invade us to control us. When 9ja turn ninja sef? In whose imagination? angry

The US simply want to come in and phuck up boko haram before they grow strong enough to threaten the oil industry as a way of hitting the US. We supply a full 15% of the US total oil supply (don't mind "comrade brother" Crap 28 that says its 25%, that guy talks like a befuddled bull frog). Cutting out 15% of the US supply will surely hurt the American economy and thats something they don't wanna wait for.

Do you know what i just realised? The 2015 prediction of nigeria's doom is chillingly getting realistic. Seriously, come to think of it. Intensive military action in some states, (maybe) U.N or american involvement(God forbid), then more violence, and before you know it, influencial people will start to call for seperation, and some U.N resolutions later, for the first time, i really feel like my country is in trouble/danger.
The North is not too strong, in fact it is weak.
There is no reason for the President to clear military or other security agreements he has reached with foreign nations with the NASS. He didn't need to inform the NASS when the FBI, MOSSAD and M16 were called in to help defang boko haram.

Who on NL can stand up to say they have benefitted from oil, except they are from a family of thieves, brown envelope takers and traitors? "Our oil" indeed!
You are all just a number in Shell's inventory, and Nigeria's GDP percentage from oil is Shells profit. Phucking dummies.

Political/RACIAL Preference is a Bi**tch Beaf! deal with it,

But i would put this question to you -

If i fought a war 66 Years ago against the Two Strongest Industrial & Military powers in the World at that time and defeated them knowing fully well that they built up their economics before the war without my
help
, then i better bring them under my wing politically and watch them closely in case they
try and fight me again ie 40,000 US Troops in Germany and 30,000 US Troops in Okinawa, Japan.

Germany & Japan do not have a standing army only a "Parade/Peace force of 5,000 Soldiers as they
both were forced to sign "Passive Constitution" which were written by the USA or lets be more specific General MacArthur.

In modern Time Africa has never been a Competitor Economically & Militarily so if the Caterpillar is never
going to be a butter-fly why should the USA care as they did with Germany & Japan
I never knew there were racial similarities between White Americans and Asian South Koreans! Hmmm, maybe adding that the Japanese are Asian too makes the case more plausible. No? shocked

The US will use Boko Haram as a pretext to enter Nigeria then magically they will end up in your run down, polluted village in the Niger Delta to control the oil.  Your hatred of the North has blinded you to the fact that your people will receive the lion share of the sorties.

It will be nice if they bomb your hometown first, after all you worship their weapons so much you started a thread on it https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-348028.0.html
Because when your idol, Yar Adua when begging the US to do just that they did? Addled cow.
I made the reply below to one of your species on another thread, read it and stop talking like you smoked wee-wee for breakfast.

chyz:
He thought it was a way to control the Niger Delta rebellion? Makes no sense at all. Would you want another country to set up a military base in your country permanently? During that term date he gave them to turn in their arms,if they resisted it he would has immediately sent out the military and wiped them completely out. Go and learn why other military countries rejected Africom.Since you don't believe the video then go read about it. Everything to you people is a conspiracy theory when it goes against anything the west says.
I never argue based on hearsay. I am not even going to provide you any link, just google these words, your foolish Yar Adua uttered them after drinking non-alcohic tea in the White House;

"We have discussed on security issues, security within Nigeria, the Niger Delta, the Gulf of Guinea and peace and security on the African continent. We shall partner  AFRICOM to assist not only Nigeria but also the African continent to actualise its peace and security initiatives. It is an initiative to have standby forces in each of the regional economic groupings in Africa,"

This is from Shell;

Clearly the Nigerian Government is planning on working with the US military in the Niger Delta – whether this will continue in a low profile advisory capacity or escalate into something more is not clear. But the US Marines / US Government are not going to carry out their own research into the region unless they are going to use the information to pursue a specific set of agendas presumably with the knowledge of the present Nigerian regime.
http://royaldutchshellplc.com/2007/06/30/africa-path-nigeria-us-marines-africom-the-niger-delta/

Start from the two pointers above, spend a week following articles, then come back. yar Adua signed a foolish document he probably hadn't read, because the damn teacher was bamboozled by the things he saw in the White House. anyways since Jonathan, the US is now more concerned about Boko Haram and Mutalabs as the main problems that can stop oil flowing. But get one thing straight, yar Adua willingly acted stup!dly and signed a dangerous treaty.

You might also like to look at what Yar Adua said when the White House tea had dissolved from his eyes; http://nm.onlinenigeria.com/templates/?a=11064&z=5

Well, I dont think the Americans wil deploy troops on the ground for a full scale war. Americans have no stomach for it. i think it will be more of intelligence training, and surveillance assistance eg satellite surveillance, intelligence processing and advisors.

The American understand the risks of putting men on the ground. Many Nigerians, not just northerners or muslims will oppose. We still have pride na. But assistance is no harm. Was it not sometime ago that the Isrealis offered counter terrorism help and trained some police and SS people? Canada did the same so did US.

The Nigerian security apparatus is facing a new challenge, they need all the help they can get, but it must be  done with the sensibilities of the citizen so we dont create fresh problems. Especially when the world knows that  the US seldom give their time and expertise for free. I am sure the Government is aware of this.
Nigeria is not asking the US for free help, rather it is the US that is begining to feel threatened by the antics of boko haram and the need to stop al qaeda fully establishing in Nigeria. In other words, they would invite themselves in whether we like it or not, so it is better for us to manage them before that day.

Even if we refuse to pay the US, they would still attack boko haram from Djibouti, because they cannot afford the day boko haram get powerful enough to start bombing the oil industry (neither can we). Nigeria supplies 15% of the America's oil, dat one no be moi-moi and is worth fighting for; a 15% drop in oil supply would have negative consequences for the US economy, that makes our oil industry a target for al qaeda. It also makes the powerful US a very useful ally against boko harm.
