Jakumo:Nice poem. You're good man! Yes, most are so morose, they can't tell a pound for tuppence, they keep "waiting like a crocodile" and can't see the truth, yet: There's a lotta good, if you only care to lookLife is easy really. Most never commented on the words of the article, but simply regressed to crocodilian death roll mode. |
Atiku's campaign was sectional an extremly devisive. He gave the impression that Southerners were not important in Nigerian politics. We need to bury such politics forever and be more encompassing of East, North, South and west. No Nigerian is a slave or water carrier for the other. Lets sieze this moment to reintroduce love for one another back into our politics and everyday life. |
Mixed reaction trail Atiku’s loss in Adamawa News Jan 14, 2011 BY: UMAR YUSUF Mixed reactions in Adamawa have trialed the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar loss in the PDP Presidential primaries held in Abuja Thursday. While many jubilate over the crash of Atiku Abubakar, others wore gloomy faces and expressed disappointment at the loss of their son to clinch the sole ticket of the PDP for the presidential elections. Speaking to Vanguard on condition of anonymity, they described as disgusting the loss of Atiku Abubakar, descrining the chance missed as possibly Atiku’s last attempt for the presidential race. They were of the view that the crash out of the PDP northern consensus candidate was more annoying as he even lost out in his home state of Adamawa, describing the scenario as a signal that the former vice president is almost fizzling out of politics. Others observed that the defeat of Atiku Abubakar in Thursday’s PDP National Convention dated back to between 1999 and 2007 when he was the vice president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and his impact was not felt much in his state of Adamawa. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/01/mixed-reaction-trail-atikus-loss-in-adamawa/ |
Gbawe's comment about corruption being Nigeria's main problem is completely wrong and displays a fundamental lack of understanding of the Nigerian fabric, but going further to build his candidates profile around that is almost hilarious. I will make a very bold and assertive correction; corruption is simply a by product of Nigeria's deeper problems. It takes a lot of understanding and deep thought to discern that the government structure of Nigeria was deliberately tailored by the cabal in such a way that ethnic bigotry, religious bigotry and corruption flourish, all for their financial benefit. Nigeria's biggest issue is our national architecture, this is something GEJ understands perfectly and in his usual quiet way, has begun tackling. True federalism below the surface, will ensure accountability and the demise of corruption and ethnic bigotry. Jonathans govt is planting the seeds. On the surface, true federalism is about the decentralisation of power from Abuja, the empowerment of states and local govts, the diversification of our economy, empowerment of the private sector, true grassroots representation, the ability to choose local leaders that are the peoples choice. True federalism is about citizen wellbeing, industrialisation and economic growth. Jonathans govt has kicked of the true federalism process by taken up privatisation of key areas, like power, petroleum refining (3 new semi-private refineries are being built for $23billion); but there are also the the quieter and vastly more exciting and profound projects going on, such as the provision of a comprehensive statistics base for Nigeria. All sorts of statistics projects have kicked off, these include projects for taxation to projects that will provide the precise figure each and every one of Nigeria's 770 Local govts adds or subtracts from the Nigerian economy. There are also projects to localise certain elements of security. Any aspirant that see's corruption, rather than its causes as Nigeria's problem lacks experience and the ability to think at an abstract level, of course, such candidate are non-starters who still leave in the primitive Worlds of coup plotting and command mentality of a lifetime in uniforms and regiments (police or military). But, leadership is not about how to use a koboko, it is about wisdom, patience and the healing touch, all of which Jonathan posesses. Civilian democracy cannot be approached with a barrack mentality, which is only a throwback to the years in which the errors of the Nigerian contraption where created. Nigeria requires fundamental re-engineering of the sort only thinkers can wrought. At this crossroads in our history, we do no need wrestlers and boxers in govt, what we need is the calm, wise head on Jonathans shoulders. Nigeria needs a man who can reach out to the various ethnic groups and religious faiths, as aptly demonstrated by Jonathans across the board victory at the PDP Presidential primaries yesterday (winning across Muslim and Christian states and all ethnicities); a victory that was delivered in the most transparent way; every Nigerian participated in the ballot counting, either as a witness or directly; a beautiful example of what Nigeria can be, a first in the country. That same transparency is what Nigeria craves and Jonathan, now unshackeled from the dirty politics of opponents (zoning, bombing, ethnic bigotry etc) can begin to deliver. Jonathans outreach to the everyday Nigerian is evident with his prolific use of every available medium to reach out to the ordinary person, from church services, Muslim holy periods to facebook. He is a man WITH the people, a listener, an ordinary Nigerian like you and I who is in position to cure (and will cure) the ills of Nigeria. |
Nsiman: My beaf must be dinning, winning and dancing by nowI might be a bit less frequent on NL for the next couple of days, but my broda, join me and. . . Pop sontin!!! Fresh air 2011!! https://www.freechristmaswallpapers.net/images/wallpapers/Sparkling-Christmas-Champagne-wallpapers-488464.jpeg Lets not forget an important thing; we reach out to the core North. We join hands with them and hope as they build a brand new and progressive leadership, of the calibre the North deserves. Gone are the days of almajiri's, all hail the Sambo's, El Rufai's, Sule Lamido's, Goje's, Babangida's (gov) etc that will rise and sieze the bull by the horns. A great day is here. |
I quite like this post from debosky. It points at very telling changes brought into Africa's biggest party by GEJ's administration. It isn't perfect, but this is what we for not just the PDP, but the whole of Nigeria, we expect positive, fundamental changes. Way to go GEJ, way to go! Please add your views, lets debate the keen observations below. debosky: Say what you will about GEJ, Atiku and the PDP as a whole, but this is a marked improvement on the PDP primaries of the past.https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-584783.960.html#msg7530370 |
LeoMax:There is still no way to escape the word, shame for Atiku. Imagine after all the noise, threats of violence and ethnic bigotry, he could only win 4 states out of 37 (adding FCT); that amounts to 11%. Imagine making so much trouble, only to score 11% in the final exam! Atiku has been roundly disgraced. |
johndoe200:Tell that deaf fungus jare! |
LaconicINC:Emphasis. A man with nothing but bigotry to sustain his bid. |
"GEJ has never contested for or won any elections in his life." Someone bera tell Atiku about the degree of defeat GEJ whopped him with. . . In an election! www.nairaland.com/attachments/317132_ROTFLM_gif474f1382cac6aa709538e551d507cbfc |
Sista, Jonathan has already crossed the winning mark, so how can Atiku possibly win? |
holydante:I can assure you he isn't on NL, otherwise di man for don die! ![]() He is pretending to read messages from his deserted camp, its an old trick; he has been setting off ringtones and pretending to be taking calls all evening. Really sad. |
appletango:What are you talking about then? Phonecalls to bomb makers? GEJ, carry go! |
Abeg, lets open odeku to celebarate mummy's vote! ![]() |
appletango:I think you should take the place of baba suwe! Comedy pours out of you without effort. All core Northern right wingers and hoodlums are now on their own, cut off forever from power in Nigeria. If I were you, I would save all this energy for phone calls to Boko Haram and other trouble makers. It will only make GEJ's task of nailing you very easy. Your situation is now pathetic. The whole od the South, Middle Belt and progressive core Northerners have spat you out like a smelly thing. |
ahidjo:Open your own thread where you can fill buckets with Atiku tears, preferably on a Ghanaian or Camerounian forum. Fresh Air 2011! GEJ, carry go! |
Atiku is being brutalised!!! See the wicked "zoning" going on! ![]() I hope they have ambulances in the place! |
@Ahidjo Go back to Ghana. |
Imagine "weak," "sluggish," "scared," "clueless" Jonathan exposing Atiku's hairy, gorilla type arse like that!!! Kai! Some quiet peeps are very wicked o! Na slow poison we de call dem. www.nairaland.com/attachments/317132_ROTFLM_gif474f1382cac6aa709538e551d507cbfc |
appletango:It will be just Atiku and his fellow blood suckers, vampires, THIEVES and jackals that will leave the party. Everybody loves a winner! ![]() Good riddance as you walk into the void. |
jason123:Dude, I will be glad if you didn't comment on my words. I view you as some sort of unevolved mollusc who feels others cannot see through you from a long distance. You're NL's fungus. |
appletango:Yes, RIP the PDP of hegemonists, sectionalists, bigots, evangelists of violence, bomb makers, religious fanaticss, THIEVES, retards and dunces. That is the PDP you knew and the one you crave. A new Nigeria is being born, it will be exciting to see your kind joust with the wind and defeat yourselves. Afterall, you are Ciroma's pack of Don Quixote's, parasites and ethnically blinded fools. Fresh Air 2011! |
appletango: there are reasons why gej will never win the pdp primaries, talk less of the election proper. here they are:The end of an era. . . I de laf ooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!! www.nairaland.com/attachments/371351_stupidAtiku_jpgd4d25eff0b86e0ff2fb0c119e194d564 www.nairaland.com/attachments/317132_ROTFLM_gif474f1382cac6aa709538e551d507cbfc |
After Imo, its 1397 - 375. |
It is now 1272 - 372. GEJ only needs a few hundred now. |
ahidjo:Everything comes to an end, even the Atiku circus: www.nairaland.com/attachments/371351_stupidAtiku_jpgd4d25eff0b86e0ff2fb0c119e194d564 www.nairaland.com/attachments/317132_ROTFLM_gif474f1382cac6aa709538e551d507cbfc |
Lets just say Sarah Jubril is a woman of contradictions: there had been a mild drama when Sarah Jubril, the sole female presidential aspirant, started campaigning for him. “Mr. President you have done well for women; you and your amiable wife. Today you shall reap bountifully the reward,” she had said.http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2011/jan/14/national-14-01-2011-008.htm |
meine:Wetin pesin no go hear for NL? Abeg, slap yourself now! |
emmaruf38:. . .Plus Abuja, its 3,484. GEJ needs 1782 to win. |
This is turning into a "land slap" victory! Awon ti ku! |
Vigilante, give NL a rest for today. Atiku is reeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaally suffering! ![]() Damn! Damn! Damn! Damn! Damn! Damn! Damn! Damn! Damn! Damn! ![]() |
