jaygetta:Please sir, pardon me if I call you a massive hidiot!!!! i just saw your preposterous claim that some Hausa - Fulani are Edo people! I'm sure your village (Gbangan or wareva) is Edo too. What a dunce! NL brings pure entertainment! |
jaygetta:No wonder you're ventilating through your arse! You don't even know your village and yet you foolishly stagger into the politics section? Na wa o! And dude, the word "tribe" refers to a troupe of monkeys, just so you know. ![]() I'm beginning to think this is another unwanted reincarnation of the Alj Harem - Jason123 phenomenon. ![]() |
presido1:Dude, I wouldn't worry about those bottom feeders and their low self esteem. We can do anything we set our minds to. Nice victory! The bastar'ds think they can sell property they stole from us. Govt needs to begin demanding the return of our artifacts and prosecuting anyone that claims to have "bought" them. The buyer of stolen goods is a thief too. |
kalokalo:He has been disqualified as not being Ivorian enough in 1995 under Konan Bédié's "Ivorité" policy. General Robert Guéi took over and maintained the same apartheid policy. Gbagbo's people killed Guéi and Gbagbo continued the same apartheid policy, even though it led to a costly war. The Ivorité discriminatory policy is behind Ivory Coasts problems and has spilt a lot of blood. The policy effectively rules all Northerners as 2nd class citizens; a watered down version was enshrined in their electoral law and only recently expunged; according to that law, you aren't Ivorian if one of your parents has foreign nationality or if a person hasn't lived in Ivory Coast continuosly fot the past five years. . . .All the above just to exlude opponents and keep filthy loot. Talk of oudoing Hitler in West Africa. |
jaygetta:Hmmmmmmmmmm! Educate me so I won't laugh at you anymore. Where are these millions of Muslim Edo's that exist outside Edo state? What Edo village is outside Edo state? Do you really know the meaning of "baseless assumptions, conjecture, or sentiments?" ![]() |
PhysicsQED:That seems bang on the money. I just checked Edo states population, and its 3,497,502, so not very far off. |
dayokanu:Bros, no fex! Take it as 10% approx if ALL Etsako peeps are Muslim. |
PhysicsQED:That would make a Muslim population of approximately 1% if ALL Etsako peeps were Muslims!!! |
You people are living in denial. You are incapable of pushing your agenda through the national assembly, unable to nobilze through interest groups and other democratic activist tools, yet you want to dismantle our fragile democracy? How many laws have your interest groups pushed through? We have a constitution, your reps can amend them and if they do so to your dissatisfaction, organize yourselves and throw them out! That is democracy. If you are minimally incapable of participating in democracy, how do you suppose your SNC will be organized? Who will represent your interests at the negotiating table? Would it not be the same people who are ruling you now, the same senators and reps? olodo.
Tell us what you are scared of, then we can begin to make some progress. You are even misinterpreting some of my words, I never said democracy should be dismantled; I said the system should be dismantled, they are two different things. What is it about a just Nigeria that scares you so much that you put up so many road blocks? When did NASS become representative of the people? Were they voted in? |
jaygetta:Yes, you do. You are talking with Bendelites or Midwesterners. Edo state doesn't even have 5% muslims. Etsako people are a small minority in Edo state. |
Sorry but many people view the ACN as a tribal/regional party. I don't see ACN winning outside of the South-West. PDP will rig its way to the top in the North. This election will be won in the East. The South-East is the actual king-maker. The only way ACN could possibly win is if they pick a young ACN who is Igbo. Now that would be a game changer. Sadly, ACN does not see beyond the SW.
Exactly! They actually need to merge with CPC and APGA to be seen as a national party. We did this dance with Ribadu before, when some of us foresaw that he was rushing off to nowhere in a hurry. Now we're singing "Buhari." I laugh in sharia! |
Explain what? I am the one talking about dodging BrainBullet? ![]() |
ola olabiy:I agree with you. It doesn't make sense to accuse the masses who have been neglected for decades as being the same as their leaders. Despondent people will scramble desperately for mere crumbs and be reduced to a near animal state as base survival insticts take over. The masses have had little choice in their leaders for the most part anyway; most of Nigeria's years have been spent stairing up the barrel of the guns of coup plotters. The overly aggressive nature of the average Nigerian is due to being repeatedly kicked, shot and spat on by military interventionists and their goons, so a traumatised people have sought solace in religion and ethnic bigotry. Before the soldiers took over, Igbo's won elections in Yoruba land and Fulani's won elections in Igbo land. What Nigeria needs is a really long period of civilised government. |
byrron:Go on drinking the blood of the 80 innocent dead and hoping to rip political benefit. Its a sickening, souless trade you've got yourself involved in. May the souls of the felled rest in peace. |
Mai Suya:Preach bro! Damn! Thats called shooting straight. |
Chai! Nigerian politics sef! Pesin pikin go wound o! ![]() |
Northern Union Yet To Support Presidential Aspirant - Saraki Posted By On December 28, 2010 @ 6:47 pm The Founder of the Northern Union (UN), Dr Olusola Saraki has said the union will soon meet to decide who the union will support in the 2011 presidential elections. Saraki, a Second Republic Senate Leader, in a chat with reporters in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, described President Goodluck Jonathan as the “humblest person I have ever met in my life.” He said this shortly after hosting the presidential aspirant of Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, and former military head of state, General Muhammadu Buhari (rted), whom he said “had come to visit me when he heard of my return from abroad where I was operated upon about six weeks ago.” He said: “very soon Northern Union will look at whether to support President Goodluck Jonathan or a northern candidate for the 2011 presidential elections.” Though, he said “Jonathan is a very humble person. I met him yesterday and I don’t have anything against him, but the only snag is that the people of Niger Delta have not consulted the NU on Jonathan’s ambition.” On his purported defection to CPC, Saraki clarified that “I have not decided to go to CPC. We discussed with General Buhari and I asked him to give me the network of CPC in Nigeria.” Earlier, General Buhari had told Saraki that he was in town to see him after his return from the United States where he had gone for medical attention. He used the opportunity to brief the NU leader on the network and strength of the CPC in the country. Responding, Saraki thanked the retired general for the visit and said that his doors were wide open to all political parties in the country for consultations.
hmm
Rubbish. Where is the BrainBullet? ![]() Since yesterday, I've been asking. I told you I have never seen a BrainBullet before and you don't want to show me. Imagine! Now you are here talking to yourself, as if we don't know musiwa = becomerichXXX. |
^ Please don't be in a hurry to go back either. Are you an indegene? sochan:I no be insider o! ![]() |
BetaThings:That fanatism is what drives us to hate a system that could produce 10 million almajiri's and where a grand thief caught moving our 40 billa can run for president. So, we are changing it. ![]() |
jason123:A confederation seems too extreme, separate countries would be preferable. In a confederation, the centre is incredibly weak and if (as is to be expected) some of the regions become much richer and powerful than others, we would have the ugly situation of open insurbodination. In that situation, the President would have to be beholden to those areas, while the weaker areas would soon become vassals. True federalism is the only answer, development will always be lopsided (eg Carlifornia vs Wyoming), but the centre would remain reasonably strong. |
Ola edo:Dude, they are scared. Thats all. There are some who are just ignorant and unexposed as well. I posted the budget figures for Greater London in the UK recently (I'm not sure if it was on this thread); London is a mere city, but its budget dwarfs the Nigerian budget several times. It is worthy of note that all of Londons money is internally generated. So, we have the situation where a single city generates more money than the whole of Nigeria, yet people argue that some regions would be too small or economies too small etc. As I said previously, every part of Nigeria can exist on its own if brains are engaged, the same also goes to Nigeria as a whole. PS; London is far from the only city that generates more money than Nigeria. There are several cities all over the World that do so, while we squabble for oil and import pin's. I feel like weeping. |
sochan:I believe that is GEJ's natural inclination. He is a very simple and kind man. You can walk freely into his very modest compound at Otuoke and no dogs will eat you up. The question is not what the average Southerner (I guess you are one) makes of that, but the reaction of the largely illiterate population of BBC Hausa Service listeners to their Imams and Emirs also. There is more than one "Nigeria" in our political layout and the smart politician sits his camp at the juncture of the various "Nigeria's." Your viewpoint (from your words) is unmistakably from the SW (at worst, old Midwest). Am I wrong? ![]() Dude, its a hard task, but we all need to understand that the target is our common goal. |
Miss EZ:When did this become another GEJ thread? ![]() Quietness isn't clulessness. The violence you witness is simply what was promised over and over in our newspapers, on TV, Online, in mosques etc. It is for you and I to discern why some would go that far. That cabal is destined to lose the battle, and tackling them in the games they are playing requires the sort of quiet and diplomatic ways that are natural to Jonathan. If we had a hothead as President, the slavery of the masses of this country would have continued another 50 years, but in a few short months, we are about to cry, victory! Take note though, that GEJ's victory in 2011 might not be the end of the battle, but it will surely herald the era where the like of El Rufai and Pat Utomi can emerge from the cobwebs. What we fight for is not just GEJ, but the defeat of the cabal and a future of equity, justice and progress. |
sochan:Nobody is perfect, but you've got to understand that the folk GEJ is up against are people selected from the very worst of what the gutter has to offer. GEJ didn't fall out of heaven, but we both know 2011 is a battle of hard knuckles where little quarter can be given. In such a scenario, where lies, deceit, open threats to life (yes, GEJ's included) and all sorts of intrigue are rife, there is little scope for niceties. After the battle has been won, steps can be retraced and tactics reviewed; but the prize of progress at last is too great for remorse. |
byrron:Why would you be amazed at what you guys kicked off? It wouldn't take long for anyone to read this page and see who started the insults. If you have a thin skin, don't insult Beaf because I no de shake o! I full ground remain! ![]() Call your blacksta to cry on his shoulder na. You guys are here crying at the wrong tree while Al Qaeda is taking over our 10 million almajiri's. More critically minded folk are putting up strategies to combat religious terrorism, but you guys are here saying things that are neither here nor there. You are wicked people attempting to gain political traction from the blood of 80 innocent souls. Shame! |
sochan:Dude, people abuse me, cos I whip em intellectualy and let them know it! They feel cornered and unable to side-step my deft logical punches, so their lips let loose! ![]() One more thing, I am a man of conviction, who can never be bought. The only route to future progressive teamups like Utomi - El Rufai is through GEJ. You might quarrel with one or two things, but the fact remains, he is the only route to that future. He is todays battering ram to break down barriers which otherwise would never ever have been broken. Most people do not have a very deep understanding of the layout of Nigeria, so they tend to look ahead only a week or two, argue a lot and expend energy needlessly. Energy is something the needs focus and direction. Say no to zoning and yes to merit! ![]() |
Good riddance to all cowards. The rest of us will struggle on, either to make the country a better place or split it ammicably. |
texazzpete:Tinubu did. The willy fox has ensured that no matter what Ribadu becomes in future, his word in evidence against Tinubu, even in a law court cannot be of any weight. All it required was the dangling of a presidential candidacy he was never ever going to get and Ribadu fell headlong for it. Barring a miracle or Road from Damascus moment, Ribadu is now a political cast off, forever glued to the rubbish heap. |
jamace:I share a lot of your concerns too. We have indeed had more than one force thrown out on grounds of partiality, but what gives some grounds of hope this time is the application of the Kaduna model. Rioting of an inter-ethnic or religious nature has been banished in Kaduna which used to be the hotbed of such strife in the past, from Maitatsine to the Zango-Kataf pogroms. Namadi Sambo has direct experience in this, since he used to be governor of Kaduna state; he is the man that's been tasked with bringing that experience to bear fruit. I believe this time we will see success. There might be dangers and slip ups, even corruption, but fingers crossed, the Jos problem will be resolved. |
Miss EZ:Ha! Efribodi know say I no gree dat one! ![]() By the way Faeb = Beaf (was banned). |
kcng:Joke of 2010! Tinubu is a freewheeling drug baron, while Buhari should be tried for treason and murder. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-566653.0.html |
