Tafida, Aliyu disagree over support for Jonathan From ABDULLAHI SHU’AIBU, Lafia Thursday, December 23, 2010 The Director-General President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan campaign organisation, Dalhatu Sarki Tafida, and Niger State Governor, Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, have disagreed over which North-central States support President Goodluck Jonathan’s 2011 ambition. The incident occurred when Tafida was asked to deliver his address at the North-central zonal meeting with the PDP delegates in Lafia, he listed the states from the zone that were in support of President Jonathan without mentioning Niger and Kwara States. Tafida mentioned states like Benue, Nasarawa, Plateau and Kogi states from the zone that were die-hard supporters of the president and when it came to the turn of Niger State to speak, Aliyu, who was represented on the occasion by his deputy, Ahmed Ebeto, told the gathering that he was not happy with the comments made by Tafida on their support to President Jonathan’s bid to become president of the country. He said Niger State supported one of their own President Babangida and that now that a consensus candidate for the North had emerged, the state was now with President Jonathan and wondered why Tafida could still accuse them of not supporting the president. On his part, the co-ordinator North-central Zone of Jonathan Sambo Campaign Organization and Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswan, commended President Jonathan for siting a Federal University in Lafia, the North-central zone, and appointment of Labaran Maku as minister of information and communication. Suswan further appealed to the President to elevate all the junior ministers from the zone to senior ministers and empower the people of the zone economically. He appealed to the President Jonathan to dualise the notorious Keffi-Akwanga-Lafia-Makurdi-Keffi road to alleviate the suffering faced by the people of the area. Governor Suswan further stressed the need to tap the mineral potentials for the zone as well as the need to establish agricultural research centre in the zone. Responding, President Jonathan called on the people of the North-central zone to give him the mandate in 2011 and everything they asked for would be given to them. He also said wining the PDP primaries was as good as wining the general election and that was the reason people were picking presidential tickets from the PDP. He called on the PDP members to see themselves as one family and supprt any one that emerged in the primary election. http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2010/dec/23/national-23-12-2010-010.htm |
2011: Atiku’s campaign coordinator resigns, aligns with Jonathan Written by Adamu Amadu, Dutse Thursday, 23 December 2010 THE Jigawa State chairman of Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation, Alhaji Sale Ahmed Danzomo, has resigned from the position and pledged his support for President Goodluck Jonathan. Alhaji Danzomo announed his resignation in a letter dated December 21, 2010, a copy of which was made available to the Nigerian Tribune in Dutse. In the letter, which was addressed to the Director-General of the campaign organisation, he said he resigned because the state government and the governor were supporting the presidential aspiration of Presidential Jonathan, adding that doing anything contrary would make him disloyal to the governor. According to Alhaji Danzomo, “I voluntarily resigned as Jigawa State chairman of Atiku Abubakar 2011 campaign with effect from Tuesday, December 21, 2010,” adding that “I wish to thank the executive committee of the campaign organisation for an opportunity given to me to serve as the state chairman. “I cannot be a hypocrite. My boss, Governor Sule Lamido, paid his allegiance to President Jonathan. I have no any option but to dump Atiku and go to Jonathan,” he said, adding that he had already handed over to the state secretary of the organisation, Mr Yakubu Ruba. Alhaji Danzomo, it will be recalled, is currently the Special Assistant to Governor Lamido on Endowments and International Agencies and chairman, Jigawa State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), North-West. Meanwhile Governor Lamido has castigated the former vice-president and the northern consensus candidate, Alhaji Abubakar, saying that “there is no basis for any PDP member to support him (Atiku), because he spent about three years opposing the party. http://tribune.com.ng/index.php/news/15145-2011-atikus-campaign-coordinator-resigns-aligns-with-jonathan |

So why did you equate the blackberry and ps3 to social networks? Was it a temporary "software glitch" or was it a more permanent expression of low self esteem (of the name dropping type)? You really need to get your issues in check.
this block will not crumble if we continue to have hypocrites like you chatting poppycocks. how will your positive energy change the corrupt leaders in that country? do you seriously believe nigeria can be redeemed or you are just hopelessly deluded like the naija leaders themselves.
The difference between us, is that while I engage positively, you waste your energy baying at the Moon. Atiku’s Statement Is Frightening —Fawehinmi Posted By On December 22, 2010 @ 12:48 pm By Paul Sanusi Gani Fawehinmi Chambers has described the recent statement of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, a presidential aspirant on the platform of Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, as frightening and undemocratic. Mohammed Fawehinmi, head of the chambers, made this assertion in a release made available to P.M.NEWS. The statement reads: “We have heard of the statement credited to former Vice President and an intending presidential aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in person of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. “The statements is frightening because it shows clearly that Alhaji Abubakar is so desperate for power as he is ready to scuttle the 2011 elections if he is not allowed to represent the party based on alleged zoning formula. “The use of the word ‘violent change’ is not only shameful and regrettable, it indicates his undemocratic attitude.” The chambers reminded the former vice president that “we are no longer in military regime where force was the order of the day while it called on all Nigerians to ensure that men of such attitude are rejected in our democracy system of government so that the country could attain peace, progress and profitable projection”. http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2010/12/22/atiku%e2%80%99s-statement-is-frightening-%e2%80%94fawehinmi/ |

The soldiers are there to stop any saboteurs within PHCN from marooning or selling vital equipment as they have done in the past. The generator mafia and the cabal are the last groups to be defeated (fuel mafia has gone 6 feet below) and they must be defeated. Privatisation is the only way forward and until that is achieved, PHCN installations must be kept under guard from paid up vandals. |
stop disgracing yourself on a public forum. there are gamers' community on facebook. there are millions of gamers worldwide on playstation and they do interact too. social networking is not limited to facebook alone. grab a book!
Funny. If by your logic the presence of gamers on facebook makes the ps3, blackberry etc, social networks; there are members on facebook. Are the members social networks too? You are stretching much further than the Minister.
the youths congregate because they have been let down by the pathetic elders/rulers of the country. we cannot channel energy until we purge from the top. what is the essence of channeling any energy at the bottom when we have fools presiding over us? once the head is corrupt, it will infect the other parts.
Sorry, those who congregate at screaming matches are not focussed. They cannot identify what they want and go for it, otherwise they wouldn't waste so much energy screaming at the sky and affecting nothing. Energy is better channelled, screaming about a Ministers "misspeak" won't get anything for anyone. |
says who? you can browse the internet from playstation. i have used facebook on ps3 several times.
That doesn't make either a ps3 or blackberry the equivalent of facebook, does it? If you came down so hard on the Minister for a little spin, how hard are you willing to come down on yourself for saying the above? Dude, life is about moderation, about give and take. There are very serious issues plaguing Nigeria and we tend to find good folk missing when concerned discussions crop up, instead the youth congrgate at "who can scream loudest" matches. It is a sheer waste of energy. Lets channel that energy into better and more concrete things. How can we kill corruption and obtain true federalism? How can we obtain a citizen-state contract that will give each and every one of us a sense of belonging in Nigeria? How can we build a country? etc etc etc These things are the real questions we must expend energy on. debosky:I have noted your presence. Next! |

“That the findings of the said Senate Committee showed clearly that Atiku Abubakar was the source of the over 440m dollars brought into the USA over a period of 8 years (2000-2008) through more than 30 accounts and both questioned the nature and source of Atiku’s wealth as well as found that the allegation by the SEC that Ms Douglas received over $2 million in bribe payments from Siemen AG intended part for her husband cannot be dismissed.Damn!
