krendo:Can you back up this statement with believable quotes and references? I doubt it. Anyways, lets not derail a thread about Ribadu (I blame mbulela). |
mbulela:Next time, don't comment on my intelligence or go personal, so you don't have to call yourself an !diot again. My political conviction cannot be bullied out of me. By the way, the challenge is still open; post at least one thread where you have actually analysed something, not just condemned and abused. Or have you come to the same conclusion I have, that you lack the power or skills to analyse and can only abuse and condemn? Funny guy, a lot of Nigerians feel that being loud and abusive is intelligence. Shame. |
I actually came here with a mixture of "how come I missed that news?" and "what is the name of the fake native doctor?" If anybody came looking for ethnicity, shame on them. |
Abagworo:You're making a fool of yourself again. You might be too dense to understand my points in a single reading, so I'm taking the pains to repeat. Here goes: Beaf: |
mbulela:A million and one !diots might not like my political persuasion, in fact some like yourself do not see value in my arguments (specifically because they are !diots). Please cut out the crap, the average fool always tries to overeach himself and comment on other peoples intelligence, whilst avoiding any analysis of the topic at hand. Strangely, I have never seen you analyse anything on NL, all I've seen you do is condemn and abuse. Perhaps you think never having the courage to take up a position is intelligence, or you imagine that condemning everything around without proffering solutions is couragous. You are seriously mistaken. People like you have no place analysing others. Turn your faulty radar on yourself. If you have a single post in which you have analised anything, I dare you to post a link to it. |
Abagworo:Funny guy. If you don't like the sound of "brand new aboki MEND from Zamfara" you can hop off a cliff. But I'm sure you have full knowledge of the day MEND opened a Zamfara branch or the day they started their Zamfara struggle, don't you? Even better, I'm sure you know the day MEND started fighting to save Northern politics and politicians. Olodo! |
netotse:How many anti-GEJ folk are objective? The best example I can give is how some people criticise GEJ's diction no end, but settle for men who are worse in Ribadu or IBB? The only good speakers in the race are Donald Duke, Pat Utomi and Saraki. |
When the brand new aboki MEND threatened Zamfara, they spelt Niger Delta as Niger Delter. ![]() Too funny. They are all gonna be cramped, clamped and neutered. Just wait until all arrests have been made. ![]() |
Jarus:Ribadu speaks worse English and has less charisma than GEJ. That is not debatable. GEJ can put a big vision forward (eg power supply), while Ribadu has repeatedly floundered at every single question in every interview. In fact, all of his interviews have been bloody alarming. Make no mistake about it though, Ribadu is a man of the future, he is just a rough diamond whose only real error is lack of experience outside a uniform, he needs to sort that out and learn to operate in a civilian World where nothing happens "immediately," (a word he uses too often). The rest of his mistakes stem from that lack of civilian experience, get him a four-year stint as a senator or rep and see the difference. Ribadu's inexperience shows itself in more than one way; the scariest however, is the way he allowed himself to be bamboozled into the top hierarchy of politics by a willy old fox, Bola Tinubu. It is widely known that Tinubu has several open criminal files, most opened by Ribadu himself. It is arguable that Tinubu does not care about an ACN presidency as much as he cares about neutralising the man who gave him such grief. In talking Ribadu into the plum job, Tinubu has insured himself against any trial in which Ribadu will be a witness of any weight. Ribadu’s second display of inexperience is his willingness to talk down PDP, where he and the likes of El-Rufai stand to gain most from the defeat of the old Northern forces. After that task is completed, the mantle of Northern leadership would fall naturally into the laps a younger, progressive breed. But where will Ribadu be, in limbo? A newbie in Ribadu's shoes shouldn't talk down any political party. Right now, Ribadu is headed nowhere. He is simply Tinubu’s latest get out of jail card and expensive plaything. Anyone arguing against my assertion will do better asking why Ribadu is never well prepared for any interview; it seems Tinubu and ACN are pretty relaxed about the prospect of their representative appearing to be a bumbling wreck and slowly self-destructing. Why? Other political parties would get interview questions before hand and get their candidate groomed and well prepared. Why not ACN? I hope Ribadu can see the trap he has fallen into and back out. |
Pharoh:It is not that people don't know, its rather like some want to be mischievious and play macabre politics with the deaths of innocent souls in the Independence Bomb Blast. Govt should stick at investigating, and no amount of obfuscation by a few bats should be allowed to divert their attention. |
Dokubo Asari, in a 2009 interview set out the details of how MEND was formed, who was at the meeting, who Jomo Gbomo is etc. According to Asari, Henry Okah is Jomo Gbomo. Any other person with the yahoo account details, got them off Henry Okah. Of course, there are a few fake, non-Niger Delta Jomo Gbomo's flying around the place, like the fool that sent the Zamfara threat; he/she/it couldn't even spell Niger Delta! They wrote Niger Delter! |
On statements by prosecution that his brother, Charles, who was arrested at the weekend, sent MEND's latest message of a bomb attack, Mr. Okah said; "if you are able to prove that he sent the email, then he should be held responsible for that."So cold, even about his own younger brothers welfare. |
Nice one Paddy_lo. I've done my bit and submitted something. Hope it goes well. |
All political parties are bad, but ACN is led by a man who is several times worse than Ibori, Bola Tinubu; a man convicted for drug related crimes in the US. Ribadu is a good man who has made the sort of serious mistake only inexperience can bring; getting sponsored by someone he described as Nigeria's worst criminal when he was EFCC chairman. Ribadu's only error is inexperience outside of a uniform, he needs a spell as a senator or rep. Only then, will we see the jewel. Right now, he is headed for the political abyss; I pray he realises early enough, that he is only being used by Tinubu to escape paying for his crimes. |
OAM4J:The US interest is selfish and calculated, and it does not include the wider interest of Nigeria. It is not just all about oil, but wider US security also (economic and strategic). Their most visible concern though, is that the oil keeps flowing. As far as Niger Delta issues are concerned, the US has always spoken against the Nigerian govts first tool of choice, violence. The US has at various times, advised our govt to broaden dialogue. During the Yar Adua saga and the MEND wars, the US on a few occasions suggested a "national discussion" as a way to solve Nigeria's problems (I do not have the links to hand, perhaps someone can help with those?). American fears concerning Nigeria are twofold;
[li]That sectional politics causes conflagration and the reaction in the ND stops oil flowing[/li] [li]The strong possibility that cross-border terrorist groups (eg Al-Qaeda) could imitate MEND's highly successful asymmetric battle tactics to hurt the US energy supplies on a Global scale or they form some other equally devastating alliances with the rogue MEND elements (hint, MEND attempted a coup in Equatorial Guinea, but the plan was botched when Asari got wind of it)[/li]
|
But after the prosecution concluded its cross-examination, magistrate judge Hein Louw called the weapons inventory “something that worries me”.The judge is already worried about Okah and case nefa even start! Okah really is a drowning man, there is no death penalty in South Africa, neither is there any Kirikiri equivalent, so maybe we need to fight for his extradition once the case is over. The most alarming bit, is were Okah says the weapons aren't of the type suited to the Niger Delta. So, were these weapons meant for another area (say, the North)? If so, what was to be their purpose, a coup, war? What? It can be recalled that Ciroma and Kaita have made several threats which they claimed would directly affect the unity of the country. |
marcdunu:Funny to hear that from a tribalist. Yes, we are the hope destroyed by tribalism. |
How about this kind of reform?
|
chyz:The US is just declaring with whom and where their interests would lie with if there is conflict in Nigeria. My reading of the tea leaves is that from the US viewpoint, the Niger Delta is more important than the whole of the country; this little missive says it all; We are interested in the Niger Delta and the overall security of Nigeria. In the above, it is very interesting that the Niger Delta is mentioned before Nigeria. It is also instructive, that while the US says it is wholly interested in the Niger Delta, it is only partially interested in the rest of the country and that interest extends only to security. I wouldn't be rejoicing at the US Consular General's words, if anything, they are very pregnant with meaning. Let the wise hear. It is at times like this that daylight is shone on the stack foolishness of those who have been talking up tribal and sectional frictions; the Ciroma's, Kaita's, Kanti Bello's, Yakasai's and other similar bats. |
@beaf Would i get your support, if i called for the reduction of police salary and increase of Army salary ?i mean they defend the country and police the country with fewer personnel and while the dead organisation called Police is there wasting valuble resources .left for me if one does the maths we better consider paying people for there efforts as they contribute it .I will not pay a lazy staff,a dine while a hard working one starves Behind every successful armed robber, there is a police man; behind every road block, there is a "roger" taker; behind every armed brigand, there is a police rifle etc. We don't need our police force; in other countries, 90% of them should be in jail. I will add one last thing though, the police problem is just a single manifestation of Nigeria's structural malaise. There is so much for us to fix to get the place moving like an oiled machine. In a truly federal state, we would not have such a problem, in fact there would be no NPF as currently exists. Each state would have its own police that would deal with all local issues and report to the federal level. With such an arrangement, it would be difficult to polute all state forces from the federal level as currently occurs. |
Lets just hope there were no loose items in the Dubai court for Odidigborigbo with his crooked fingers to steal on his way to extradition. |
udezue:You don't have to read everything I write upside down, you've been doing that quite a lot. I made it clear that what I meant was identifying with the cause. There are people like yourself and OnlyTruth that I have always seen regularly on ND issues, but never Abagworo; in fact, his sudden conversion to an ND expert is something that can be given a date (October 1st 2010). There is nothing about ethnicity in my description, and I made that clear when Abagworo attempted to drag me down that route. But, you yourself tell me, have you seen Abagworo so passionate about ND issues anytime before two and a half weeks ago? |
Kai! I'm sure the day Jonathans 7 footer bodyguard smiles, his teeth will crack (he's the man in black). ![]() www.nairaland.com/attachments/336632_Back_page_pix_18_10_10_jpg5bd61270779aa537d05185a79098785c |
Another thing is I don’t like the irreverent manner they address this President. Maybe it is because he is from the minority and I know they cannot talk to any body from one of the three big tribes in the country the manner they talk to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. They talk so rude to him and I don’t like it one bit. The president has moved through the levels of governance.Another salient point. The funny thing is that some ignorant folk see the rudeness of Ciroma's gang of bats as the latest fad, to be emulated without a thought as to whose battle they are actually fighting whenever their "fad" loving streak kicks in. Up till now, Nigeria has been set up as a hierachy of "tribes." By manipulating that hierachy, hegemons have been able to hold on to the juiciest bits of the economy (even where their best is mediocre), defraud the country and steal the poor blind. Jonathans ascent has upset several primitive tribal tools in the hegemons nasty bag of tricks, and many like the Ciroma's, are extremly bitter about it. Let us learn to read the detail before jumping on the bandwagon. |
I don’t like the tone of the letter; it is like a threat. One thing I saw in that letter is that it is about the North, the North and the North. All the writers are from the North and it was written from the narrow perspective of the North. But there is a flaw in that letter that made it perfectly useless; talking about zoning. They claimed that something was zoned to the North, but this is a howler. The North is not one of the zones in the PDP.Who says age is not wisdom. All hail Papa Olunloyo! ![]() |
Abagworo:No, you are for IBB. And it poisons your mind so much that you can't even keep to topic, instead you begin to invent wonderful positions for others and their counter arguments; all in an argument with yourself. You could have said the above at first, instead of misfiring, meandering and staggering on about ethnicity, elections and other weird stuff that have no bearing on the topic (perhaps, you were finally shamed into saying something sensible by the word, "chameleon" . |

I recall that those old bats, Kanti Bello, Tanko Yakasai, Ciroma, Kaita and the rest of their decripit gang issued an EMPTY ultimatum that has long since expired. I'm sure their humiliating experience would be useful to this thread. ![]() |
@Abagworo You seem to be inhabiting a strange world of hallucinations, where you create your own counter arguments to arguments that were never made. Here you are, misfiring about crazy schemes, MEND, elections, the President and other matters wholly disconnected from the present topic, whereas the OP is asking a totally different question which strikes at the human rights issues in the Niger Delta. Nobody has mentioned the strange angles you are "arguing" about, nor has the need arisen. Dude, what the hell are you smoking? I bet you are having a grand weekend sha? You tried tribalism earlier, that failed, now you want to introduce current politics. Dude, you have failed again. Now I am waiting for you next diversionery step, what will it be? The introduction of jass? Na wa o! Chameleons sha! |
Abagworo:You have never previously identified with the cause of the Niger Delta, but after the Independence Bomb Blasts, something suddenly shook in you; you had your epiphany and became an overnight Niger Delta expert. Strange. Dude, I'm sure you are smart enough to distinguish between identity and ethnicity. Your identity is who you choose to roll with, so please spare me the cheap tribalism. Ever heard of the chameleon? |
Abagworo:My friend, carry your braindead politicking elsewhere. You previously always 100% identified yourself as a proud Igbo man, who never dabbled in Niger Delta issues, but after the Abuja bombing, you suddenly seem to have had your “road to Damascus” moment and your identity has undergone a miraculous metamorphosis to Niger Deltan. Na wa! Are identities for sale? |
