mistakay:You compare underage donkeys to human beings?!!! Stop talking like a donkey and telling lies to cover up your disgraceful tribalism. Ode, I am beginning to wonder if you too have (or are planning to have) a 13 year old child "wife" like Yerima. Shameless cow, you can defend backwardness and evil all you like, just because it emanates from your village or ethnic group. It will shock you that there are many more of us that will scream at you devils from the mountain top and never stop until every last one of you is dealt with. Bloody tribalist! We will save the children in your village from your likes. Vampire. I will write as much as I like about your hero, Yerima. Just read and cry, cos there's nothing more you can do. Jail and a life of shame await Yerima. Lets see if he can travel to the West in the nearest future. Damn ra'pist. |
Oh boy! Dis one no be small tin o! Maybe dem swear for kidnappers because jass no de affect politicians. |

mistakay: What are these "real issues, shameless paedophile defender?" Get your head out of your crusty arse. Is it defending paedophiles, just because they are from your bloody village? Is it defending paedophiles who think they are in the senate for a jamboree, so much so that they are above Nigerian law? Yerima might be your role model and hero, but to me and all sensible Nigerians. . . . Yerima is a f**king shameless paedophile and a disgrace to Nigeria! |

mistakay:Abeg go and sleep jare! Do you support paedophiles? Or do you have an argument that exonorates Yerima as a paedophile? Your outburst should shame you. It would seem that you are seeing this from a 100% tribalistic viewpoint, so simple question. . . Will the fact that a paedophile comes from your village or ethnic group stop him from being criminally perverted in your eyes? Disgraceful. |

Ibime:I didn't see this before making my last post in a red mist! Debosky, Ibime is clearly very clued up about the ease of obtaining bloody accurate figures. Listen to him. . . . In the meantime, 2 - 0. ![]() @Ibime I believe they should be much more accurate than 50% otherwise they wouldn't be in business very long. |
debosky:Ignorance? No, you are taking on more than you know. Its that simple. Do you think BP doesn't know the pressure in that well or the diameter / cross section of the pipe the oil is coming through? They do not need any more to give damn accurate figures (even if the break wasn't clean). If you have even the slightest idea about fluid dynamics, you wouldn't make such braindead statements about "ESTIMATES, with widely varying possibilities". It is silly to make "sure" statements about things we clearly have no clue of. Long before BP drilled the well they would have done enough assesments and tests to know what they were getting into, what size of valves to use, what thickness of pipe etc, etc. To say they don't know is much the same as saying BP does not have oil drilling experience and they had no business drilling that well; that of course, is ridiculous, As for the US having more to lose, ask yourself why the British govt is so concerned as to be making very high profile representations to the US govt. Maybe they know a thing or two that is more precious than BP's US assets. |
Dis Guy:That is something that really bothers me as well. I hope Jonathan finds something to say about this Yerima idiot, that is the only thing that will send him packing. Uncle Joe, over to you and no slacking! |
Can you believe that Business Day could actually praise the paedophile, Sani Yerima? Read the article below and be shocked. He is described as one of the "well educated, urbane and energetic young ‘Turks’" that "are very eager to pull out Zamfara from the doldrums and backyards of backwardness." . . .A paedophile??!! Read the bolded part of the article below. Someone actually sat to write an article that praised Yerima for introducing sharia, amputating a cattle rustlers hand and the sentencing of Amina Lawal to death by stoning. What is most shocking, is that the article was actually accepted by a national newspaper. No wonder the country is so backward. This solid minerals processing revolution in Zamfara Friday, 11 June 2010 01:02 Abubakar Nuhu Koko Zamfara State is one of the 36 states that make up the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It is among the third-generation states created during the military regime of the late General Sani Abacha. Ranked alphabetically, Zamfara is at the very bottom of the list of states making up the Federation, because its name starts with the alphabet “Z”. Socio-economic development-wise, Zamfara is also considered one of the least developed states in the Federation, based on socio-economic indices. Several factors and reasons account for its seemingly retarded modern development, but space constraint will not allow me to elaborate upon them here. However, all the predisposing factors that continue to retard the development processes in Zamfara over the years are rapidly being tackled by the emergence of what one is inclined to call some new-generation change agents or drivers of change in the state. These well educated, urbane and energetic young ‘Turks’ are very eager to pull out Zamfara from the doldrums and backyards of backwardness. For example, since the re-establishment of civil rule and democratic governance in Nigeria 11 years ago, Zamfara has been led by the duo of Ahmed Sani (Yariman Bakura) from 1999 to 2007 and Mahmuda Aliyu Shinkafi (Dallatun Shinkafi), the current governor of the state since 2007. Governor Mahmuda was deputy governor to former Governor Ahmed Sani during the period 1999-2007. For instance, Zamfara became the first state in the federation to adopt full-scale Islamic Shari’a law or Penal Code in 1999; and followed it with amputation of the arm of a convicted Cattle rustler, Jangebe and attempted to stone death Aminal Lawal, a woman accused and convicted of infidelity. These acts of notoriety instantly launched Zamfara into limelight nationally and internationally through the mass media. Paradoxically, however, the state has also recorded another first in the annals of Nigeria’s history of development processes. For example, one of the development efforts embarked upon by these young Turks in power yielded a major success recently when President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GEJ) paid a one-day working visit to the state on May 25, 2010. The presidential working visit was ostensibly to officially commission the first-ever solid minerals processing plant in Nigeria since the commissioning of the nation’s Iron and Steel Rolling Mills in the late 1980s. The event was also President Jonathan’s second official working visit and commissioning of major development projects since being sworn as president and commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria on May 6, following the passing away of President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua on May 5, 2010. His first working visit was to Rivers State on May 14-15 2010. Over the years, especially in the last three decades, uncountable calls have been made by development specialists, academics and public opinion leaders that Nigeria should diversify its economy away from monoculture, which involves relying principally on its abundant oil and gas natural resources. However, Nigeria has failed to diversify its economy to other productive economic sectors such as modern agriculture in its entire ramifications, natural resource-based industrialisation; including solid minerals beneficiation, processing and development. But the current Zamfara State government’s bold initiative is about to start changing Nigeria’s development roadmap. The Solid minerals processing plant is structured on a public-private partnership (PPP) investment model. The state government owns 45 percent stake in the venture, while a Chinese firm owns the majority stake of 55 percent. According to the Zamfara State Governor, Mahmuda Shinkafi, the state will divest its 45 percent stake to local investors as soon as the venture starts yielding profit. The state government’s solid mineral processing initiative can be said to be timely and a wake-up call to other state governments of the federation, including the Federal Government itself. Its timelessness can also be appreciated at this time when all the states of the federation and the Federal Government are facing financial crunch. Thus, it is high time public policy-makers and the executive arms of government across the country and at the centre stopped paying lip service to the critical issue of national economic diversification for a holistic sustainable development of Nigeria’s vast natural resources distributed all over the country. Armed with the right enable environment, all the existing development potentials of every state of the Federation can be properly and fully harnessed, and propel Nigeria on a higher sustainable development pedestal that can make it one of the top 20 leading economies of the world by the year 2020. To this end, I would recommend that the Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals Development and the Raw Materials Resources Development Council (RMRDC) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO)/United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and other development partners to make Zamfara a solid minerals processing and development model/incubation state from which all the other states and the FCT should imitate. http://www.businessdayonline.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=11771:this-solid-minerals-processing-revolution-in-zamfara&catid=96:columnists&Itemid=350 |

The Nelson Mandela Foundation said Zenani Mandela died in a one-car accident and no one else was injured. Tummi Shai, a police spokeswoman, told The Associated Press that a case of probable homicide – not unusual in traffic accidents where negligence is suspected – had been opened. Shai would not give any further detail, including the location of the accident. Thursday's World Cup concert had drawn tens of thousands of people to Soweto, and traffic was congested into the early hours Friday. Zenani, who celebrated her 13th birthday on Wednesday, was one of the anti-apartheid icon's nine great-grandchildren. "The family has asked for privacy as they mourn this tragedy," the foundation said in a statement. Mandela, who turns 92 on July 18, has largely retired from public life although as of Thursday it had been anticipated he would make a brief appearance at the World Cup opening ceremony Friday, depending on his health and the weather conditions. In a statement Thursday, the Foundation said it had been "inundated with requests for meetings, and it will be impossible for Mr. Mandela to accede to even a small fraction of these." But Mandela met this week with members of the Black Eyed Peas, one of the main acts at Thursday's concert, and Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo and coach Carlos Queiroz – the latter a former coach of South Africa. |
^ When the spill first started, an independent expert put the volume at about 70,000 barrels per day. I guess we'll never know the truth. BP was soooooooo angry at that assesment and said it was only 5,000 barrels per day. . . Then a couple of days ago, same BP gleefully announced, they are now capping 19,500 barrels per day. Magic! ![]() |
This guy has been joining every presidential race for as long as I can remember. "Fresh Democratic Party?" Damn dude is the joke of the century. Maybe, "God" will give it to him this time. ![]() |
Okotie joins presidential race By Ifedayo Adebayo June 11, 2010 02:25AM Lagos-based pastor, and chairman of the Fresh Democratic Party, Chris Okotie, has indicated that he will run for president in next year's general elections. Mr Okotie, who has contested the seat twice, said the least the federal government can do to immortalize the sacrifices of the late Moshood Abiola is to enthrone true democracy in the country. He also claimed that the PDP-led federal government is a product of rigging, and could therefore not celebrate the heroes of democracy, who fought for free and fair elections. The pastor, in a statement signed by his media aide, Ladi Ayodeji, decried the neglect of those who died protesting the cancellation of the June 12, 1993 elections, saying all efforts to ignore their achievement in giving birth to the 4th republic have not succeeded. The spirit of June 12 "Instead, the spirit of June 12 continues to haunt us", he said. "The democracy martyrs of June 12, led by its flag bearer, MKO Abiola, who won what is still adjusted the best election ever organized in this country, would have died in vain if we fail to put in place viable mechanisms for free and fair elections in the country. One of these is electoral reform, and also transparency and good governance. We can't have true democracy if the peoples votes do not count; where selection instead of election is what produces the leaders." As regards his political future, Mr. Okotie announced plans to address a world press conference on June 29, 2010 at his party's headquarters, where he will declare his intention to seek his party's nomination for the 2011 presidential election. Mr. Okotie also called on Nigerians to support the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the World Cup holding in South Africa, promising to reform the sports sector if elected president in 2011. "May I, once again, plead with fellow Nigerians to come all out to support the players," he said. "They need our total, unwavering support, not criticism, at this crucial moment." http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/Home/5578998-146/okotie_joins_presidential_race__.csp

The association also berated Mr Yerima's manner of "clinging to a supposed aspect of his religion, which allows a child barely out of the cradle to warm his bed. The abiding injunctions on honesty, philanthropy and continence, among others, on which all religions stand, are of little significance to this man."Jonathan, we beg you, set your wolves on this dudes hairy arse! How can our senate continue to make laws for us when they have blatant law breakers in their midst? The Nigeria Bar Association has urged the Senate to look into the case of Sani Yerima's child marriage, saying that he cannot continue to sit in the hallowed chamber of the Senate, contributing in the making of laws which he claims do not bind him.. . .A thoroughly ridiculous situation. If Yerima's state can condone his likes, the rest of us can't. Maybe we should begin to give serious consideration to splitting the country. |
Yerima cannot continue in Senate, says NBA By Ifedayo Adebayo June 11, 2010 02:10AM The Nigeria Bar Association has urged the Senate to look into the case of Sani Yerima's child marriage, saying that he cannot continue to sit in the hallowed chamber of the Senate, contributing in the making of laws which he claims do not bind him. The Bar said attempts being made by some individuals and groups to trivialise Mr Yerima's disgraceful act are also political. "We state without any equivocation that the act of contracting any arrangement to satisfy the hedonistic urge of any individual is criminal," Rotimi Akeredolu, the national chairman of the association, said. "It becomes even more worrisome to note that these people strive to hide under a popular religion which preaches continence." The association also berated Mr Yerima's manner of "clinging to a supposed aspect of his religion, which allows a child barely out of the cradle to warm his bed. The abiding injunctions on honesty, philanthropy and continence, among others, on which all religions stand, are of little significance to this man." While referring to Mr Yerima's argument, when he was invited by a child protection agency in Abuja, that he only recognized Sharia law and not whatever the federal law said on his action, the NBA leader said, "The position of the Bar is that this man cannot continue to sit in the hallowed chamber of the Senate, contributing in the making of laws he does not believe in. "Characters like this man should not be allowed to hide under religion to perpetrate acts inimical to the wellbeing of the citizens of this country, most especially children who must be protected by reasonable adults. The news that a former child-wife was divorced for him to marry a new child, as his fourth wife, in line with what he perceives as his religious obligation, must rile the sensibility of decent people." The leadership of the Bar, specifically referring to Micheal Aondoakaa and the ongoing litigation against him, assures Nigerians that it will not shield any member of the NBA who has been accused of any wrong-doing. "It is important we state this in the light of the recent judgment delivered by a Federal High Court in Calabar on the suitability of the immediate past Attorney General of the Federation, Mike Aondoaaka to hold public office or any position of responsibility. "We hasten to state, without gloating, that the Bar feels vindicated on its positions on national issues which certain political jobbers twisted to paint us with the brush of partisanship undeservedly. We expect more of those whose activities have brought this country to this sorry pass to be exposed," Mr Akeredolu said. Oyo crisis The Bar, however, warned Goodluck Jonathan to check recent political attack on the House of Assembly in Oyo State by some hoodlums. It said that the action "is a litmus test for this administration. It is treasonable to employ the force of arms to disrupt a legislative process. It is akin to waging a war against the people. These political charlatans got away with all manner of atrocities under Olusegun Obasanjo. Mr Jonathan must follow his words with deeds which give hope." The NBA, however, hailed the appointment of the new Independent National Electoral Commission boss, Attahiru Jega, and urged him to start on a clean slate. http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/News/Metro/Politics/5579195-147/yerima_cannot_continue_in_senate_says.csp

debosky:Don't forget Shell used to be Shell BP. They have the same wretched imperialist DNA that see's people and the World as puns to be exploited. There is no punishment that is too great for such companies. Imagine Haywards words about wanting to get his life back, whereas 11 of his staff lost their lives and millions more people are in danger of losing their livelihoods along the US coastline. What about Hayward again, saying the ocean is very large compared to the amount of oil spilling? Even worse than that is the sheer amount of lies BP has told since the onset of the crisis. These people are brutes that need to be jailed, thank goodness this is happening in the US where they have met their match; much worse is happening in the Niger Delta, but we are too weak and cowardly to do anything about it. Let BP wind up as a company. It is high time the UK learnt very practical lessons about what happens when those at the other end of the stick react. |
