Beef and hypocrisy. inseparable!
I am sure you baffle yourself. Point is, you guys are blaming Jonathan for something Yar Adua did. A bit strange, isn't it? |
ElRazur:But people don't need to be united to be considered human and there are always traitors anywhere, its human nature. I am quite sure the Americans too are not united and there are one or two traitors in their midst, but their federal govt is bending everything to see that justice is done. Not so over here; indeed she talked about local govt, which is plainly ridiculous to the point of wickedness. |
Kobojunkie:How would anybody be benefitting from oil spills? That is about the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Do they cook the oil and feed it to kids or what? It was recently announced that Shell alone is to clean up 268 spills that have occured this year (no doubt because an ND person is in govt). Please somebody explain to me how local people benefit from oil spills that destroy lives and livelihoods? Can the sane ones among us now understand why I said earlier that Nigeria is in many ways, worse than Nazi Germany? |
Americans value human life, but here, a great proportion of Nigerians think that the ND and its people are there as their slaves and their lives are worth nothing. The Americans keep referring to the Niger Delta when discussing the Mexico spill, because they argue that what goes on there belittles whatever it is they are experiencing. Nigeria in many ways is worse than Nazi Germany. In fact, a legislator (Ibn N'Allah, Kebbi state) recommended that all 20 million Niger Deltans be wiped out to benefit other Nigerians. Na so. |
What else will you say, its not a far North Issue so you will not be against it. By the way this ain't a rumor but my candid opinion that if Yar'Adua were to be alive till date we would not be lavishing such an amount of money on a dumb celebration ! Please take note, By the way if you guys claim that Yaradua's men prepared the budget of 10 Million which i still find hard to believe. Is Jonathan's hands now tied to reduce the proposed wasteful spending ? ![]() Speak the truth and set your soul free
Isn't Yar Adua from the "far North"? Don't make make me laugh.Anyways, long and short is, it was Yar Adua and his people that budgeted that money. Blame Yar Adua for the amount, if you are looking to blame someone, but if you don't know exactly how the money is to be spent; it would be best you find out. Independence ceremonies can never be cheap; find out first if the amount is justified before waxing hysterical. What far North issue are you talking about anyway? That Yerima the paedophile married a child? You're funny. |
RSA:Abeg tell them jare! Especially that blockhead called paddy_lo. Even the IMF agree's Zimbabwe is growing so I don't see how any sensible person can argue otherwise. The greatest decease of the miseducated African is the ability to recite the BBC and worship those who slap them down. There is something about slavery that makes the slaves flog themselves harder than their masters ever would. |
^ Is he not your brother too? Or are you sad that our other brother planned it and you are now a rumour monger? Charlie, spreading false rumours is second only to theft. Stop it. |
This is so funny, extolling the virtues of a demon. ![]() There are 150 skeletons of military youth in the swamps of Ejigbo in Lagos. . . All because IBB was scared of the younger cadre in the army. Solution? Wipe them out. His best friend annoyed him in secondary school and was regarded as an intellectual (which IBB has never been); jealousy set in. Solution? Maman Vatsa was executed. etc, etc, etc. |
Whenever I hear the national anthem, I feel it should have a better tune and I remember Obj (why, I don't know). ![]() |
desgiezd:I don't know what the case is, or how and where the money is to be spent; so I can't say if its over budgeted or not. However, I know it isn't moi-moi to organise security, fly jet fighters and all the other stuff they do during the match past. We can neither defend nor point fingers until all facts are known; afterall, it is the govt itself that has let out the info voluntarily, we didn't ask for it. |
The Minister of Information stated very clearly yesterday, that IT WAS YAR ADUA's people that created the 10 billion budget DURING Yar Adua's time. Rumour mongering is a terrible thing. |

KnowAll:You are conceding it is a crime because you are a fool not to. Perhaps your parents are from Niger, Chad or Sudan which is why you have no respect for the law or concern for Nigerian girl children. It is either society is surbodinate to the law or we regress to the jungle; no two ways! Bloody paedophile lover. ![]() |
^ Sharap! ![]() humanshado:Very well spoken! The above encapsulates the real problems in the North. While there are serious avenues open for local development, these have all been abandoned in a blind dash for oil wealth. In this dash for resources that aren't local, the people of the North themselves, have been forgotten and left to rot away; each year, the gaps in education and poverty levels have increased to the extent that we now have a dramatic 70% poverty rate in parts of the North. That sort of poverty level can only be a security risk, both to the North and to the rest of the country (Jos anyone?). What is required right now is not a scramble for shadows and new tools of oppression, but a concerted effort to drive up the literacy as a tool to arrest poverty and decease. In fact, a state of emergency on education in the North needs to be declared at federal and state levels. More than anything, the North very desperately needs a brand new crop of leaders. It must jettison the old bunch of crminals like IBB, Atiku etc. Here is a region richly blessed with fertile soils, spell binding landscapes for tourism, bountiful solid mineral resources, enough solar energy to power the country; yet who's leaders are engaged in a personal scramble to grab oil resources for their already bloated pockets, forgetting their responsibilities to their people and Nigeria at large. The North needs a new generation of leaders. |
2nd Niger Bridge: FG Orders Fresh Award of Contract , Explains Golden Jubilee budget From Ike Abonyi in Abuja, 06.17.2010 The Federal Government yesterday moved to begin real work on the construction of the Second Niger Bridge as it cancelled the contract for the bridge set to have been awarded in 2007. It ordered that a new process for the re-award of the contract should commence. Executive Council of Federation (EXCOF) at its meeting yesterday in Abuja directed Works Minister Senator Sanusi Daggash to commence a new process for the re-award of the contract. EXCOF had at its meeting on May 6, 2007 approved the award of a contract on Public Private Partnership (PPP) concession arrangement for a period of 30 years for the Second Niger Bridge to be constructed within 36 months at the sum of N58.6 billion. The equity participation for the project was 60 per cent private and 40 per cent public, of which the Federal Government’s equity was 20 per cent and 10 per cent each for Anambra and Delta State governments. But whether a contract was actually awarded or not had been a subject of controversy after the end of former President Olusegun Obasanjo regime in 2007. Some associates of the former president had insisted he awarded the contract but the then Minister of Works, Alhaji Muhammed Lawal, had denied there was any contract. The new process, the government said, would be on a fast-track basis, in accordance with the provisions of the Public Procurement Act (2007) and Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) Act. The proposed Second Niger Bridge project is a 6-lane dual carriage-way, approximately 1.76 km wide, with 2.5m shoulders on each side and 4.0m median width. The project also includes a14km long approach road with 3 river bridges and other ancillary works. Briefing newsmen at the end of the weekly EXCOF meeting presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan, Information and Communications Minister, Prof. Dora Akunyili, said after awarding the contract in 2007, for several undisclosed reasons, the project could not be executed, necessitating government action to cancel the initial contract. Akunyili who briefed the press alongside the Minister of State in the ministry, Mr. Labaran Maku, said a project of that magnitude requires professional services of an internationally acclaimed and reputable project consultant. The minister also added that the sum of N7.5 billion has been provided for the project in the 2010 Appropriation Act. Meanwhile, President Jonathan has charged security operatives in the country to sustain the tempo of the fight against crimes especially the incidence of kidnapping in the South-east, which has been on the rise in recent times. . . . http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=176029 |

Kobojunkie:The bolded is a gem in the murk and junk above. There is a simple, common sense way to run the comparison. Search google for news on Nigeria for the same period and see if you can come up with a comparable number of money frauds. In fact you will be lucky to find more than one case in the news on the average day, yet Nigeria is a country; not just any country. but the 8th most populated in the World with 150 million people. If 9 fraud stories in one day is not alarming, I wonder what is. |
The simple answer to the blatant robbery is resource control. Let everybody answer their fathers name, then we will see where the free money will come from. |
kobikwelu:Do you really think it affects only Igbo's? Tribalism is the antithesis of rationalism. ![]() |

^ You have spoken very commendably. Most times when topics like this are raised, one or two little minds tend to lose their senses and everything needlessly collapses into ethnic mudslinging. I really commend your words. If we get the oil and gas industry right, it means we have largely got the whole country right. We live in a country that is shameless. Other oil producing countries have developed money spinning technological know how and services around their oil industries; for example Middle Eastern companies specialising in spill response have offered high tech assistance to BP in the Gulf of Mexico cleanup operations, several oil producing countries have refineries in foreign lands and a myriad at home. Nigeria, sadly does not even have a single oil tanker to transport our produce and things are so bad with us that we do not see this as an obvious need. Yes, we need visionary leaders; till date, we have only had mediocrity and buffoonery. Most don't know it, most don't care; yet everyone agree's we are suffering and sinking as a nation. As for the excuse that the ND might not be secure enough for the oil companies. . . Providing quality livelyhoods for those who are going through tremendous pain to provide for the country, will begin to make the people feel a sense of belonging and put aside suspicions and weapons. The average Niger Deltan does not feel the rest of the country cares, indeed a member of the NASS, Bala Ibn Na' Allah famously recommended to the effect, that all ND folk be wiped out, so the rest of Nigerians could help themselves to oil. The fact that oil companies have head quarters in Iraq and Afghanistan, blows away security as a reason why the same cannot happen in the Niger Delta. |
By the time they strike oil in the north I can bet that the North too will be clamouring for resource control.
That will be the greatest irony. What will happen to demons like Hon Bala Ibn N'Allah that declared on the floor of the house that all Niger Deltans should be wiped out to sustain the other Nigerians? To make matters worse, a member of the House of Representatives, Bala Ibn N'Allah, had during a debate on the invasion, uttered a statement that was considered unnecessary. He said it was better to do away with 20 million people to sustain the remaining 100 million.http://allafrica.com/stories/printable/200906220682.html Hon. Bala Ibn Na’Allah from Kebbi State argued that "nothing was wrong in sacrificing 20 million people to protect over 150 million people."https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-275269.0.html http://www.speakersoffice.gov.ng/news_may_22_09_1.htm |

In fact, I will be shocked to learn that the 9 had anything to do with Nigeria. Craigslist on its own, has a strongly criminal aura and doesn't need to imply that Nigeria is more corrupt than themselves by omission. |
sauwal:Let us be concerned with our own country, Nigeria. What can you change in Europe or the US, is that where your village is? Is that where your roots are? Abeg! ![]() In fact, have you ever heard of any paedophile American or European "married" to a 13 year old child that isn't either in jail or castrated (or both)? Have you? |
What a way to promote philandery. ![]() |
audacious:Stop making general statements about nothing. I challenge you to provide proof that the journalist did not verify facts. ![]() |
tpiah:Thank God realisation has set in. Go and dream of other peoples panties elsewhere. |
^ Don't mind the paedophile loving id!ot called knowall. Egypt and Zamfara indeed! A state that has just lost 150 children through poor management of the state, while their paedophile ex-governor was "marrying" yet another child. |
bisiaet:Exactly! Will all these recitals change the fact that robbers, kidnappers and their bank worker collaborators are quaking in their boots? If this is what Nigerians fear, I say, use it! If it is only psychology; use it as long as it works. Human life is precious and these folk have been wasting it. |
^ How hard is it for you to go to Onyebuchi Titus and Christopher Obinna in Onitsha and Ijebu-Ode Barracks, Ogun state? How hard is it for you to ask the Ebonyi state govt for simple facts? . . .Except you are just being weird and thinking about "bunched up panties". Your motive here is highly suspect. |
