citizenY:Your passion for the North is quite healthy. Its a good thing to have. You too enjoy your weekend. ![]() |
citizenY:. . .But this thread is about Northern leaders saying they want no changes to the FEC. My backyard doesn't come into it at all. When I post Ibori threads, how come nobody says to me, "easy on the man na, the same malaise exists in the North to"? Its all good. |
ilugunboy:How about if he was a Yoruba man?. . . That sort of reasoning doesn't even begin to sound sensible. ![]() |
^ You too will soon learn never to argue with becomerich. He is always "right" and always has maps to prove it. ![]() |
citizenY:I fail to understand. Would that stop this article being about Northern reps? Or are you saying that ND reps are the ones threatening Jonathan not to change the FEC? Lets not deviate from the topic. |
^ Another wanton killing in Jos? ![]() |

EzeUche:Nobody can challenge becomrichs cartography and google prowess. Your map is flawed, it has to be. |
cold:That $1 billion oil block belonged to Nigeria. We are looking at a $1 billion fraud here. The only words I can agree with are that Danjuma is "more 'upright & forthright' than most thieving politicians". But lets be honest, we don't even know how many oil blocks he owns. Indeed, if all ex-generals have been "allocated" oil blocks, the country has simply been "allocated" to them in the most heartless way. How many hundred ex-generals are there? Do the math in billions of Dollars for a each oil block given away. There is a rare, dizzying, inhuman and bizare level of greed involved in the way Nigerians leaders deal with the country. To our leaders, Nigeria is a no mans land they can walk into and steal everything that moves; anyone that resists is shot or jailed. If only people knew that their childrens hopes and opportunities have been mortgaged away to greedy old bas'tards. ![]() @mbulela, keep blaming for ants fighting for their rights, while elephants maraud your crop. Makes you look clever. |

ziga:No, it is the opinion of those Nigerians looking for greener pastures in Zimbabwe and setting up small scale businesses; Lately, Nigerians and other nationals from West African countries such as Senegal and Guinea have flooded Zimbabwe’s major cities and towns running business ventures ranging from clothing retail, electrical shops and selling cell phone gadgets and accessories. |
ziga:Really? How many are doing business in Bangladesh? Ok, I'll put it in another way; life in Zimbabwe is better than life in Nigeria. Period. |
This is a sad loss of life. May their souls rest in peace. |
@Beaf, most Nigerians sympathize with Niger Deltans and the injustice they are experiencing. Your dishonesty will not change that, Soyinka is no MEND thug.
When will you condemn Danjuma and his likes who represent Nigeria's deepest problems? Or is it only the mention of Soyinka that is causing you pain in this thread? . . .I am still waiting. ![]() |
Please post the text of a statement by Soyinka where he claimed to be representing MEND rather than the Niger Delta people? If you can't find such a statement, shut up. Soyinka is not and will never be a MEND oil bunkerer, kidnapper, and thief.
Stop wounding yourself like a clown. . . .And by the way, none of this takes from the fact that oil blocks are simply "allocated" to those in power in a grand theft (which you have skillfuly ignored to attack those who aren't "allocated" oil blocks. You seem to be in support of that, because you haven't made a single comment on that blinding theft. Funny guy.Call MEND any name you like, but as Soyinka says; MEND, Soyinka stated, meant proper mending in deep concept, stating that, it was foolish to have dismissed the militants as a bunch of rascals the way the government wanted us to see them. - Wole Soyinka Let it pain you. ![]() |
^ It your words that are lying. This is the great man himself (on a website where he can't be misquoted );WOLE SOYINKA: MEND, Soyinka stated, meant proper mending in deep concept, stating that, it was foolish to have dismissed the militants as a bunch of rascals the way the government wanted us to see them.http://www.nas-int.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=433&Itemid=115 Stop yarning nonsense jare! ![]() |
^ All the above are lies. The Aaron group was created by MEND and they represent MEND and MEND alone. MEND represents the Niger Delta. It is propagandists and the real criminals that want to make MEND out to be like them. Wole Soyinka represents MEND and indeed visited Yar Adua in the company of Henry Okah quite a few times. |
Beef, your intellectual dishonesty and bigotery in this matter is quite disgraceful. The report posted by the OP stated clearly that 60 members of the Northern Caucus in the House of Representatives met Tuesday night at the Apo residence of former House Leader, Hon Abdul Ningi and resolved to withdraw support from Acting President Goodluck Jonathan, if he dissolves the Federal Executive Council (FEC). And yet you come here asking dum.b questions? Who else would 60 members of the House of Reps, represent? Niger Delta thugs? You are quick to call 60 members of the House of Reps criminals while singing praises of known criminal organizations such as MEND who continue to kidnap, kill, destroy property, and perpetrate other criminal activities. Your hypocrisy and bigotery is sickening, I thought you were more level headed than this. Well meaning NLers have distanced themselves from the statement of the 60 members, yet you continue to directly and indirectly insult Arewa. Don't let your tribalism and bigotery negatively affect your otherwise good judgement, olodo.
You are beginning to sound like a joker these days. I can see you are quite proud of those reps. These folk are saying we must continue with the same corrupt crop of ministers, because it is in the interest of the "North". Which North? Your pocket or those poor Northerners impoverished by the rampant, bare faced stealing going on with the present FEC? Criminals protect criminals. I am sure you love Aondoakaa and other criminals. |
citizenY:I am happy you have disowned them. For a period, you had me scratching my head. |
Zimbabwe is in better shape than Nigeria. That is the sad truth. Have you ever seen a bad road on TV in Zimbabwe? I can bet that nobody here has. ![]() If anybody challenges the above, let them post pictures and their sources. |
mbulela:The post you referred to did not draw the conclusions you did. In fact, it dealt squarely with the issue at hand and condemned those causing Nigeria's problems. It was you that deviated. Stop looking for ants (just to look busy) when elephants are destroying your crop. I wish you will find a way to stand up for yourself and fight for your own rights, instead of dreaming that others will do it on your behalf. MEND have stood to fight and have the best of brains and integrity in persons of such calibre as Wole Soyinka (a Nobel Laureate) representing them, but here you are doing unwitting battle (with pride) for the Danjuma's of Nigeria. Do you really think that men of international renown would volunteer to represent MEND if they are mere criminals? You are only doing the dirty propaganda battle of the real criminals that are stealing us blind and bombing the helpless (and you are even doing it free off charge). |
citizenY:When did you start yarning dust like this? These people claim to be representing the North, while pushing every unprogressive agenda. Simple question; do they represent you or do they represent the ills I mentioned? Why would you jump up in defence of criminals, just because they make a wooly claim to claim to represent the "North". Which North indeed? Jos or Katsina? If these people represent you, then I have nothing further to add. If however, they don't represent you, the onus lies on you and those like you to disown them. Anything else na dust. |
These are very serious and troubling times for Nigeria. Suddenly, we are beginning to see the true scale of brigandry and the desperate lengths people would go not to be uncovered. It is easy to guess those involved, except for the ministers. Sad. |
deor03:Ask me o! Imagine keeping a Boeing 737 on standby for 3 months in a foreign land. Each crew member is getting at least $1000 per night plus the maintainance and packing costs of the aircraft. The whole thing is like a huge joke. |
mbulela:Of course, to you, Danjuma is now a member of MEND. It is easy to go after easy targets, so it seems that one is a hero. Poor Nigeria! The place is packed with people who argue loudly at anything that moves, just for the sake of it. ![]() The problem here is Danjuma and hundreds of other ex-generals who have "allocated" themselves oil blocks; it is those who are powerful enough to collude with oil companies to sell oil totally outside the system; it is those who are powerful enough to purchase oil vessels for bunkering (similar to the one impounded last week); it is those who use the army to protect their personal bunkering interests, killing, burning, looting and ra'ping elderly women and underage girls. Where are people like you to ask real questions when they are needed, why chase shadows? When 2500 innocent people were murdered in Odi, where were you to ask proper questions? Below are pictures of Odi after Nigerians like you attacked them and burnt down everything.

This Yar Adua thing would have been so funny, if only a life wasn't involved. What a wretched country! |
Presidential air crew grumble in Saudi By Musa Simon Reef The continuous absence of President Umaru Musa Yar’adua from the corridors of power is beginning to exert its toll on the presidential air fleet, with some crew members lamenting since they arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on November 23, 2009. The presidential crew, consisting of captains, co-pilots, flight engineers, and flight attendants are allegedly complaining of being nostalgic about their inability to see their family members. According to a source, “the crew members are homesick and are groaning over their long stay in Saudi Arabia. They are longing for a re-union with their family members and can’t wait to be back in the country.” The crew members, who took ailing President Yar’adua to the Royal Kingdom for treatment in his Executive 737 Boeing Presidential jet, have spent their 85th day in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Sources told Peoples Daily that some members of the crew have confirmed the seizure of their passports and other travel documents on arrival in Jeddah last year. “They have become more or less hostages to an uncertain situation surrounding the ailing President. Even though the crew is staying at the prestigious Trident Hotel in Jeddah, the members are expressing a strong wish to come back home,” a source said. A particular crew member who lost a relative, according to the source, was allegedly not allowed to come to Nigeria when he requested to be allowed home to commiserate with other relations. “The bereaved crew member was told to exercise patience and wait along with others. “We are like hostages here. Our hotel bills are being picked up and there is no problem about that. We have also been occasionally told that the President is getting better and that we would soon go home,” one of the crew members told one of our sources. Contacted on the alleged dilemma of the crew members, Special Adviser to President on Aviation Matters, Captain Shehu Iyal, said he was not aware of what was happening to the crew members. “I am not in charge of the presidential fleet. I am presently in Kano and I am involved in Hajj matters. But I do not believe such can be true. But I am not competent to speak on the matter,” Iyal told Peoples Daily yesterday. Presidential crew members, according to another source are each entitled to a minimum of $500 per night whenever they were on duty. “When you add their hotel bills with their allowances, you have a minimum of $1000 for crew members per night,” the source said. Though a national daily had reported that that the Federal Government had spent the sum of N30 million as allowances for the crew members, the amount has risen to over N60 million. Enquiries on landing charges for planes in Saudi Arabia indicated that the government may have paid $133,620 (N19, 775, 760, 00) for parking the presidential plane at Jeddah airport. According to a source, the type of plane used to fly the Nigerian president is billed $524 every eight hours, making it $1572 per day. http://www.peoplesdaily-online.com/index.php/news/national-news/16-national-news/9704-presidential-air-crew-grumble-in-saudi |

One of those involved in the meeting was said to have said in exasperation: “We have to deal with him; we have to kill him.” “They are wicked and ungodly and their time is up! Never, again, must we allow our nation to be strangulated by a privileged few who will rather fiddle with our common wealth while the nation burns. It is time to stamp out these parasites, blood suckers and demons. |
“For anything coming, we will look at it critically, we will examine it, we will look at what is good for the North and if there is nothing to take back home to our people, you can be rest assured that we will oppose it. The North will not accept it and the whole North will rise against it,” the member vowed.Who is this so called "North"? Is it their own people that they have forced into illiteracy and the almajiri practice? Is it Kala Kato and Boko Haram that are stack reminders of the failure of their leadership? Is it the 11 and 13 year old girls that are married off to middle aged men? Someone please educate me , because, I would have imagined that these so called Northern leaders would have been engrossed in issues to do with pervasive poverty, iliteracy, rampant deceases like river blindness and polio, religious riots and Mutallabing etc. |
