Thanks so much. I feel better.
I really want Ofu to win. I don't know when it has become a crime to emulate good since they accuse Ofunemama of emulating Cherise. If Africa makes the mistake of having Richianna win, we may as well get ready to see gay activities or a party in BBA3
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Africa 2 (II)! by benit(f): 10:09am On Oct 25, 2007
This is so sad. I do not even want to think that Ofu will walk through the eviction door on Sunday but sad as it may be, it is now a possibility. Other Africans really hate us and I am not surprised about that because Nigerians have not been nice on the BBA forum at all (hard truth). I mean the names calling and insults on other countries was just too much for me to bear. Please and please if you must post, let it not be an insulting one let's see if we can effect a change. It is a crucial moment for Ofunneka sad

TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Africa 2 (II)! by benit(f): 2:44pm On Oct 17, 2007
If Richard stays, the cash might not get to Ofu because he is a bigger threat than Code who is certainly not going to win the prize.

Nairaland users, Please if you do post on the BBA forum, try not to abuse other countries as it may have effect on our dear Ofu.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria Is 47 Today, Come Let Celebrate Together by benit(f): 12:35pm On Oct 01, 2007
Happy Birthday Nigeria!
I got a free copy of rhapsody of realities on my way out this morning as independence gift. They said its their way of saying they still believe in Nigeria and that they are distributing it nationwide. I asked myself what I have done for Nigeria, well not too late I will start doing my little part and I am sure if we all do our parts, our country will fly high again because it is not just enough to condemn.
Long Live Nigeria!
Christianity EtcRe: The Man Called Pastor Chris Oyakhilome! by benit(f): 2:08pm On Sep 28, 2007
maybe it's now a crime for a minister of God to look good and perform signs and wonders, u guys always have sumfin to say.
We prefer to see hungry and dirty looking Christians as if Righteousness is about dirtiness or Christianity is about poverty. I like his teaching because of the'do it yourself' approach unlike many others who hide even the very little knowledge they have because they want us to keep coming to them for counselling. I am tired of running to some robe and big ring wearing 'daddy' for prayers when I should be taught to use the word and apply it in my life. More pastors like this would have long come up but are afraid because of "our pull him down" syndrome but many other pastors study his books, tapes and come preach it to us on sunday yet criticize him. I always dare to welcome change and not stuck to "this is how our ancestors did it mentality"

If only we could highlight our potentials as women then we would appreciate what we are worth. Many women believe their whole lives revolves around men and sadly our society supports this to an extent.

EventsRe: Help Advice On Affordable Quality Wedding (anxious For A Reply) by benit(f): 4:30pm On Sep 13, 2007
Poster,
One thing is needful and that is a Budget. You are looking at 450,000 thereabout for like 100 people.
OK lets start like this, make a list of all expenses you are likely to have e.g
                                                                    =N=
Reception Venue                                          Bleep
Decoration
canopies/chairs(if any)
Malt (No of crates x amount)
Mineral
Juice/wine
food(total estimated cost)
Wedding Gown
Bridal accessories(flower,beads,hair etc)
Music
MC(if a professional)
etc

Monetize all the expenses and see if it suits your pocket. If you over-shoot, try and reduce some aspects vice versa.
Note that family rites like Bride price, drinks etc are also budgeted for. Plan with your partner. However it is better to over budget than to under budget because contingency will surely come up.

As for the gown aspect, it varies depends on type and location. Its adviceable you rent considering your budgeted amount because I now see  mine as an unwise purchase.
Would have loved to help more if you were based in PH but don't fret you can have a cool wedding even with 2 weeks planning.

PoliticsRe: Supreme Thief Alams Gets An Overwhelming Welcome From His People by benit(f): 4:05pm On Sep 05, 2007
The people who gave Alams rousy welcome may have their reasons for doing so; most of them must have benefited from the LOOT. That man made a lot of people rich through his dubious means and he remains such boot licker's hero till date.

I do visit Bayelsa and I listen to public opinion. Many of the residents still prefer the administration of the ex-convict to that of the VP lipsrsealed
