alexistaiwo: You really need a crash course in sarcasm. Sense of humor fall on you before 2018 ends in Jesus name! There's no sarcasm in your post unless you don't even know what sarcasm means. You complained like this about The Revenant and other movies as well which made me term you ungrateful weeks ago because you only complain about movies you don't like which was suggested here but don't give props for the ones that you enjoyed. For me to type that meant I've known you to always complain about movies rated highly here that fell short of your expectations. |

When I download and watch now, eyes will be scratching me like I downloaded the Odunlade Adekola remake. Let me go and download so I can join the debate. If you have this mentality after all these while, you need to stop watching movies entirely. Watch movie if you want, don't expect every movie with high rating or debated for long on here, to be interesting to you. People's choices varies including yours. |

NicolasTfile: this is exactly wat im talking about ....y d fvck would you even time it on ur own again... enjoying d fvcking movie nd stop looking for faults abeg!! Bro, me sef shock when I read that line. This is no longer critiquing of a film, but rather hating on the film. Expecting ANY movie to match exactly the time interval it stated in the film is extreme delusion. The 24 TV series is run on the premise that everything happened in 24hrs, meaning that each episode should be equal to an hour. But each episode is 45 minutes with removal of commercials and ending credits. How does that equate to a plot hole or render the script obsolete when 24 is one of the best shows ever? As child I watched so many biblical movies my dad bought. In one of them was a story about Jesus fasting for 40 days and 40 nights. So, BlackManta would be expecting the producers to make the fasting scene last for 40 days? No be torture be that? If the fasting scene last for 15 minutes, it's more than enough made up for the 40 days jare. BlackManta, on this particular issue, you're being harsh on the producers, probably because of the DC-MC rivalry. |

Emekus92: Oga He used her to transport himself to where Brock is And after leaving her she remained alive while every other host the symbiotes left that wasn't the perfect match died. Oga, the script writers of that movie were confused. Nothing you type can erase that. |

Mekaprime, even the doctor was not exactly sure what's wrong with Eddie. He even said so. So, how did you even arrive at the conclusion that it's killing Eddie from inside because of hunger when the doctor wasn't sure or blamed it on hunger. |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Beorn: 8:38pm On Dec 03, 2018 |
mekaprime: You're very good bro I'll give it to you. At the bolded, so what you are trying to say is that, even till now Venom still feeds off Eddie ?? Are you confused or what? Aren't you the poster that affirmed that Venom had a huge appetite below? mekaprime: Remember the scene were Eddie asked Venom what made it change its mind as he told Eddie of his plans to stop Riot, it was from there, Venom stopped hurting Eddie. You can actually see that at the end were Venom said he was hungry that it & Eddie should go grab something to eat because he doesn't want to eat Eddie's liver as it was looking delicious. Dude, if Eddie refuses to feed Venom, Venom will feed off him or take control and feed. Having huge appetite doesn't automatically equate to still feeding off Brock. Just like you stated earlier, if truly the symbiotes has huge appetite & feeds off its host it invariably means it can't control its appetite, then there ought not be anything as perfect match because eventually the host is gonna die. So i think the original question has been answered, There is nothing as perfect match/host, Riot & Venom being a case study. There's a perfect match, not every human is compatible with every symbiote. Having a huge appetite doesn't mean death to every host. As long as the host is feeding well, the host won't from being fed off from. This is a simple scenario to understand. |

NicolasTfile: See guy, the other symbiotes needed their leader RIOT... its just like any community even with animals in our planet sef,if the head is not there to lead them, there would be dissaray nd chaos, that is y they were not able to successfully bond wit any host...its not because they already have one ordained perfect host waiting for dem somewhere...even VENOM sef was feeding on brock,if not that they were able to bond later
9/10!!!!!!! You gave the most comical excuse I've read in a long while. So other symbiotes chose to kill themselves because Riot was not around? But Venom refused to kill itself like the other two? So, once you don't see your leader, you go rush kpai yourself?

BlackManta: Here is another stupid plot hole...
If Venom was gradually killing Eddie from the inside, why then did Eddie not get rid of the symbiote after beating Riot.
So instead of saving his own life he go leave Venom for im body make e dey gradually kill am from the inside abi
E be like say Eddie want to die young...
Okay oo... No. As long as Eddie is eating voraciously to satisfy Venom, he'll be aite. |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Beorn: 6:44pm On Dec 03, 2018 |
BlackManta: So why are the host dying?
Is it because the host was showing hyper acute rejection to the symbiote or because the symbiote was eating them from the inside
I'm confused...
Mind you... The scientist in the lab did several test but never said anything about symbiote killing the host by destroying their internal organs.
Only doctor Dan made the discovery.
In conclusion, whoever wrote the plot for Venom should be fired by SONY.
Spiderman 3 did this symbiote stuff better...
Plot holes just full this Venom movieleaving a bitter taste in my mouth.
Tufia...
And Koicereloaded said critics were wrong about the movie.
Okay oo... LMAO. The script writers were super clueless. That's the perfect way to describe the confusion. Venom is just a fun movie if one ignores the storyline which had numerous plot holes. |

Emekus92: Apart from riot that feels comfortable in any host while looking for his main host... They rest symbiotes ain't comfortable they just want to bond with their main host.... It's either their host or no one else Yet Brock's ex didn't die when Venom used her to go back to Brock who is its MAIN HOST?

mekaprime: Like I said earlier, environment played a vital role in Riot's successful bonding. Let me clarify you here. Riot initial & subsequent choice of human host seemed a perfect match because he never fed off any of his host until the very last moment he was ready to leave the host, because it saw the human body as a vessel for his mobility. And also, it basically had other alternatives as regards feeding as he travelled. While his kin that were caged up in the lab, saw they host as food & fed on their internal organs because they had no other option as regards feeding thus their bonding was never successful.
Immediately Venom bonded with Brock & he got home, the first thing venom said was that he was hungry, of which Brock ransacked his fridge in other to satisfy venom's hunger, Even at that, he was still slowly feeding on Brock & killing him slowly (Weying's boyfriend stated this). LOL. The emboldened which set the tone of your entire post is very wrong. Bro, all symbiotes behave alike or almost alike, and therefore generally have huge appetite and feed off its host when hungry. That's why we're condemning the directors for bending the rules for some symbiotes. To prove your notion wrong, I'll take you down to very beginning. When Riot first entered its host, a human called Jameson, the human was weak, possibly from feeding on him. Then Riot killed one of the two occupants transporting him and possessed the Asian lady leading to an accident. Immediately the lady tore through the roof of the car, her first steps were LABOURED and Riot now occupying her healed her broken bones. Now watch carefully, she walked quiet alright in the next few seconds, but when next the lady was shown, she's visibly tired and struggling to walk because Riot was desperately hungry and looking for food while feeding off its host. When the lady got to the market place, her first move was to eat that eel fish to regain strength and once she did, you'll notice that the tiredness that engulfed her disappeared and she became strong. That's because Riot was finally feeding. So, to arrive at the emboldened was very wrong. How do you even know that Riot only fed off its host at the last minute? In short, if not for the laboratory, scientists and the doctors, you wouldn't have known that other symbiotes were feeding off its hosts. The only reasons that made you conclude that Riot was not feeding off its hosts was that no scientists carried a test on its hosts and, Riot always seemed to find the perfect hosts that barely show signs of struggle. Besides, the director didn't focus on the clinical signs/aspects of Riot unlike other symbiotes if not you'd heard that it feeds off its hosts when hungry and not only at the last minute. Venom had a weak script, but I enjoyed it nonetheless because of the action scene. It's just a feel good movie with weak plot. |

JeromeBlack: The matching of symbiote with human host was dependent on the plot.
The odds of the protagonist and his girlfriend being viable hosts is very slim.
And the bad guy too was a viable host. Lazy screenwriting just for the sake of the plot Well said. |

mekaprime: Compatibility plays part of the role while environmental & some other factors plays the rest. Why Riot was able to bond with random host unlike the others was because he was running wild, & ate whatever or whoever he fancied & even had the opportunity to make a choice as regards picking his host. Unlike the rest that were locked up & forcibly given a host to bond with.
Secondly, all Riot's host were perfectly healthy unlike those in the lab that were given sickly hosts. So also, Venom was able to bond with Brock, Weying & the dog because they were all healthy.
And lastly, the scene were Weying saves Brock and ask who Riot was, Venom responds that he's the team leader, so as the team leader( my opinion though), he ought to be far more superior to the others in terms of prowess in battle, strength & genetic make up. So bonding with anybody he chooses shouldn't really be a problem for him. Other symbiotes' hosts were not sickly. They're only poor people who needed cash and signed an undertaking they didn't understand. Also, while Riot chose from a lot of options later on, his first choice was random and the first human it came in contact with, yet it's still a perfect match. |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Beorn: 10:39am On Dec 03, 2018 |
Itzneowizy: ..i agree with you but not to a large extent...the issue is compatibility, but i think the symbiote choose it's host...just like saying it wants you or not.....As for Riot....He kinda selected by looking at each person before jumping And the other two symbiotes decided to choose the wrong hosts and killed themselves afterwards? Is that not foolishness? Why didn't they imitate Riot by looking at each person before jumping? |

TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Beorn: 12:19pm On Dec 02, 2018 |
sod09: I think the host ish had to do with the symbiote choice, venom said I found you you didn't find me. That mean it prefer Brock and also allow the dog and Michelle for the main time. As for riot, it also said to venom your host is strong so I think they are conscious of there hosts And the 2 other symbiotes were too dumb and chose to die instead of choosing the perfect hosts like Riot? |

BlackManta: Venom
5/10
Take away Tom Hardy's excellent performance and this movie would have been worse.
It's very unfortunate he alone couldn't save this movie from mediocrity.
Pros...
Tom Hardy.
Cons....
1. A character which had so much potentials in a R rated blockbuster was wasted on bland PG 13 money grabbing scheme. Venom is very violent character through and through. It's not a surprise that he talks about eating human heads and he has teeth to tear victims apart and create a bloody scene. But instead of giving us a scary symbiote, the PG13 gives us a pussy cat with sharp teeth for fancy.
2. The pacing in this movie is terrible.
The first part was slow and good. We got to know Eddie Brock, his work, his motivation, his personal struggles and the transition from a average guy to Venom's host.
The second part of the movie was rushed. The director was more interested in jumping from one plot point to another in so little time with the cheap action flicks while paying little attention to proper character development. Little wonder Riot turned out to be a big pile of poo.
3. The action sequences were rushed, boring, disorganized and all over the place. Especially that Riot vs Venom fight which felt like a painter throwing different colours on the wall to see what sticks. The motorbike/car chase was cheesy as well. I've seen better chase before.
4. The CGI is average and sometimes just piss poor. SONY is very capable of doing a better job but NO.. They rather do some cheap action flicks.
5. Character development was just piss poor.
Michelle Williams is just an average typical good girl. She is also boring and can't even act like she's seen a monster. Her dialogues were crap as well.
Venom is just average. We barely understand him cuz the story was rushed. Funny how he went from "let's eat his head" to "let's save the world " under 24 hours.
Rid Ahmed is a typical corporate villain. Super boring and barely intimidating as a villain.
Riot... I got nothing much to say about this one. We barely know a thing or two about him. Plain rubbish. The worst comic book villain I've seen in a long time and the worst thing about this movie.
6. Lazy writing and plot holes/unanswered questions.
Carlton Drake tries to get host after host to bond with the Symbiotes with zero luck but Riot miraculously manages to find a series of perfect hosts during his trip from Malaysia, all of whom seem to be perfectly fine after he moves on from them. It's never explained how this happens or how the Life Foundation CEO just so happens to also be a match for Riot; again, this is shitty storytelling.
We never get much of an explanation for how the Life Foundation came across that asteroid full of Symbiotes, how they managed to just steal a few, or how far from Earth it was supposed to be. So, with that in mind, how did Riot intend on flying a spaceship out into the unknown to find his people? For that matter, when did Carlton Drake find time to learn how to operate that by himself and how would they have kept thousands of Symbiotes alive on the way back to Earth? It makes zero sense.
Riot planned on going home and returning with an army of symbiotes. However, he didn't have a plan to get back. The symbiotes were forcibly brought to Earth so they didn’t know the planet's coordinates or have a big enough vessel to bring them back. In fact, how did they even have a plan to invade Earth if it wasn’t even their plan to be on the planet in the first place?
Venom is just an average movie.
It is not as bad as critics say it is but it is not good enough either.
5/10
The 2nd emboldened part is the most dumb and pathetic part of the movie. The storyline was very much below par. So shitty, it left me cringing. You even forgot how Venom having found the perfect host in Brock, immediately found a perfect host in Michelle just because she's Brock's ex. What are the odds, really? Then Riot finding the perfect hosts in all it encountered is amateur storytelling. Very childish script. I'll rate it 6/10 because of the action scenes only. |
