BurningBlade: nope. If you consider a 2003 movie as old, I wonder what you'll say about a 1992 movie or even a 1978 movie. 1992 movie will still be an old movie to me albeit more older than a 2003 movie; but a 1978 movie is what I like call an old skool movie or a "veryyyy" old movie. The grandfathers of movies. LOL. |

armadeo: saw this in the cinema when it first came out and the fact that i didnt comment about it tells a lot.
it was really hectic. i fell asleep at one point The producers were just after making more money off the success story of its predecessors, no matter how bland and sleep inducing this part 3 was. I deleted it immediately I was done watching. |

Hotel Transylvania 3: A monster Vacation 6/10.
There's no need for this part 3. The subsequent parts after part 1 keeps getting more mediocre. Enough already. |

KoiceReloaded: How dare you-how f**king dare you? Paula Patton is so hot that her womanizing ex-husband dedicated a whole studio album in her name in a ploy to win her back. He failed of course, and I and every other red blooded heteros rejoiced. The idiot didn't appreciate what he had, until he lost it, so why should I sympathize? Her smoking body (for lack of better word) is the stuff of wet dreams and erotic fantasies, just ask Beorn. She's ultrahot.
My feelings towards the movie is more complicated. I'm very conflicted. I don't like the movie, neither do I hate it. I rated the movie 6/10, mainly because of her sheer hotness. Omar Epps and that mannish looking corrupt female cop were outstanding in their respective roles, but one thing about a dead plot is, try as hard as you may, no one can make a wooden horse gallop. The plot is very weak, and the plot holes being the size of Omar Epp's bald dome, ultimately precipitated my boredom to record levels. The human trafficking theme never really got going, and thus, is unintentionally sidelined by main character's social frolics. Then again, I don't really mind, cuz it meant more screen time for Paula's beguiling face and sexy anatomy to shine, and shine they did until the closing credits.
Win-win for me, I guess? Well said, Koice, very well said. Don't mind, Ishilove. If she sees Paula Patton through a man's focal lenses, she wouldn't be typing such heretic words. Paula and yam legs in one sentence? Ishi has committed a sacrilege and need to appease the gods of eroticism_. |

DonTim1: Don't know if am alone on this, mission impossible fallout was another typical cliche, stayed glued trying to piece the entire story line and naaa, wasn't captivating, likewise sicario 2. Sicario: Day of the Soldado was a gargantuan disappointment. They'd have just left at part 1 only. |

KoiceReloaded: The overhyping does play a part, but mostly, it's down to a show's limitations.
Every story have principle elements like the main character(s), the main character's goal, and the conflict. As each event of the plot happens, the character MUST grow to be able to cope with that event, and so the plot development leads to character development. But what if the plot moves at a rapid fire speed, and hence doesn't leave much room for character development to maneuver? The corollary becomes what I like to call "plot sensationalism". To simplify, it's an act of using the ploy of shock and awe for primary plot advancement, thereby neglecting principals like character development.
Character development is the inception of a typical plot line. Deliberately putting it in a backseat just so you can make your show more exciting, will ineluctably leave the primary plot very vulnerable to multiple plot holes. Condor is guilty of doing this, and Bodyguard is even more guilty of this subterfuge. They are not bad shows in the least (they certainly tipped the excitement scales), but they are very flash-in-the-pan. They're the sort that make headlines one moment, and the next, a forgotten memory. True, Condor is guilty of the emboldened, but I guess the producers of both shows and similar ones like them were primarily after garnering as much viewers as possible from the get-go/pilot epsiode instead of slowly building up the characters/plot line. All shows can't be slow burners, I guess. |

delugajackson: Relationships were only meant for two, but sadly, some b.itches don't know how to count. Well this isn't new, as 95% of Nigerian ladies keep more than 1 man in their lives, each serving one purpose or the other.
If you check a typical Nigerian lady's phone, you will see contacts like - Emeka shoprite, Chukwudi SARS, Prince Camry, Nnamdi Venza, Femi recharge card, Subscription guy, Big Fish, Fresh fish, My crush, My school love, My first love, My second love, My First heart, My second heart, My X, My former love, My current love, iPhone maga, First Bank guy, U.B.A guy, Cab guy, Ice-cream guy, Cool room guy, Hotel guy, Sweet Choir-master, Sweet neighboour, and finally, My Daddy in the lord.
They are all undercover p.rostitutes and packaged hoes, packaged hoes parading themselves as girlfriends and wives-to-be. Later, they will be running from Shiloh to city of zion, looking for a God fearing husband that will take over their rotten, dilapidated and worn out holes. WTF?!! |

They're the worst robbery crew of all time. What am I even saying, those ill-raised kids were not thieves to begin with, they just wanted a sense of adventure. Tokyo is a proper criminal while those sons of bytches were stealing for the first time. The difference and skill-set is damn huge between both crew. |

KoiceReloaded: Yeah, Rogue One was another anthology. Unlike Solo, it filled the gap that needed filling. Got it. |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Beorn: 6:48pm On Sep 11, 2018 |
KoiceReloaded: What are you talking about? The Last Jedi is a direct sequel to 2015 installment, The Force Awakens. Both are part of a new Star Wars trilogy that picks up the story from Return of The Jedi, a 1983 Star Wars installment. The last part of the trilogy will conclude next year, and is titled Episode IX.
The Last Jedi didn't bomb at the box office, because it's a chapter to a story. A chapter that will conclude in the next installment scheduled for next year. Solo is simply a standalone/anthology Star Wars movie that tried to explain to the fans something that don't need explaining. It bombed because it ticked the fans off, and they boycotted it massively.
Moral of this story: don't f**k with the fans. Now I understand it. Just visited their Wikipedia page and what you said checked out. Solo was the anthology which was unnecessary. Well, the fans have the final say, but Solo was a better movie for me than The Last Jedi. What of Rogue One, was it an anthology as well? |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Beorn: 6:20pm On Sep 11, 2018 |
KoiceReloaded: Star Wars hardcore fans felt that the movie hurt the originality of the franchise. I think Solo bore the brunt of the fall-out from the average and unnecessary The Last Jedi anthology. If it'd had come out before The Last Jedi, it wouldn't have bombed. |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Beorn: 6:16pm On Sep 11, 2018 |
KoiceReloaded: It bombed, because it was unnecessary. When you start filling blanks that are better left empty, it runs the risk of ruining any lingering novelty. That said, it's a fun movie. Enjoyed it much more than the dumpster fire called The Last Jedi The Last Jedi is the movie that's supposed to meet the fate that befell the Solo. Producing Solo was unnecessary same as The Last Jedi, but Solo was the better movie between the two and yet The Last Jedi didn't bomb at the box office. That movie was totally unnecessary IMO. |
