Mama sorry o. You just have to continue bf your LO or express and feed him until it heals. Use a nipple cream after each feeding even when it heals to avoid any soreness or cracks and lastly make sure your baby is latching properly( the whole nipple and a good portion of your areola is in his mouth) everytime.
You can take paracetamol for the pain.

I got into 9ja yday using the etc.The immigration officer only asked for address and phone number. It was a breeze even though i took the non 9ja passport holders queue.

i used an agent to get d etc, emailed him the requirements he applied on monday got it same day and I got it in d mail d very next morning since it was overnight delivery option.

Requirements were:
Passport biodata page of both parents
childs passport picture
travel itinerary
consent letter
birth certificate

I think thats all.

I checked the requirements and decide to just do the passport one time since it's cost about the same amount. $170 & I was also trying to avoid that lengthy wahala passport application process..but I've done it now I.e passport application.

But here are the:
REQUIREMENTS FOR OBTAINING EMERGENCY TRAVEL CERTIFICATE

1. Formal request letter for the Emergency Travel Certificate by the applicant.( parents). Include your current address and telephone number, please.

2. copy of Applicant's bio-data page of Nigerian Passport. ( parents bio-data page)

3. 2 passport-size photographs. ( child's passport photo)

4. Copy of itinerary or airline ticket.

5. $170.00 in money order payable to the Embassy of Nigeria, Washington, DC.

NOTE: The Travel Document is valid for 7 days only and cannot be used to return to the United States (one way journey).

You mail it to them. Ask @mulberry & Nefertitiram for more details.

Thank you . Changed my mind cos I figured if I stayed one day at the hospital I'll save a few $$$ which was a big risk money wise. Inshort God made me make that decision coz I had few complications with the birth, cord around baby's neck and she was not breathing, no movement at all. In the end God took charge, was given oxygen & after like 5min I heard that big cry after what felt like a lifetime I held her

So In the spirit of giving back (honestly I don't know y this line makes me laugh)
I had my baby in Aug at St Francis hospital Wilmington Delaware.
Note: Delaware is a state.

Dr fee $1920 ( vag delivery..I'm not sure if it's same price for CS too) includes prenatal visits, delivery and postpartum check up( does not include lab test.).
Lab test $264 ( they accept all our naija tests too)
Ultrasounds scan cost $560 ( I didn't do it cos I did a scan just before I left naija)

Hospital bill was $3070 for mother and baby including pediatrician bill, hearing test and all. (I stayed only one day and got a refund of $1,663)

The money for lab test was taken out of the $5k

Pediatrician ( after discharge) cost $125 for first visit and $60 for subsequent visits.
Didn't use a pediatrician attached to the hospital.

In total I spent $5,254


Birth certificate takes 7-14 days. Mine was ready in 9days

Got the SSN in the mail in 3weeks

For the U.S. passport...parental consent form signed by any notary public is accepted.

passport agency in Philadelphia is about 1 hour drive from Delaware, cost $200 and you get it same day.

Expedited service if you use the post office cost $165 & takes two weeks but got mine in 9days.
Waiting to do naija passport.



There is also a Birthing center here "The Birth Place" costs $6000. I was actually eyeing the place at first because I wanted a water birth, but after strategic calculations....

@berryl we only sent a letter from hubby and myself and data page of our passport plus baby passport and money. We didn't go to the embassy direct, but used an agent that was given to us by a natural and mom I met here. We got the etc by post.

Just like I promised I used the west Houston birthing center and paid $3214, my tests from Nigeria was used. Scan was inclusive in d cost as Holly conducted 3 scans. I used a Jewish doctor for circumcision and paid $400 cos he came to my house but he normally charge $300, if u go to his place of practice. Had one pediatric visit plus one immunization which I paid $147. We had to go to d local government office to get an expedited bc as far one day was meant to be posted was delayed a bit cos of d mistake in d name from d birthing center. Hubby was not comfortable sending baby's blue passport for visa so we got a letter from d Nigerian embassy in the form of an emergency certificate We left for Nigeria exactly 4weeks after birth.

What exactly did you send to the embassy? And how did you go about it?
I just check and doc required are:
Proof of citizenship
Police report and
Return ticket to Nigeria.

Sorry mama but I don't think that's a nice response to her plight. No mom wants to hear she's not feeding her child plus I don't see how it relates to green poop.

Weldone mamas, doc in da house pls what can be causing greenish poop in my 7 months old baby. Since july i have we have treating it with antibiotics, it keeps on appearing and disappearing. We gad to culture d stool and medications where given to her, it went only to appear again. We have treated malaria too. I don't want to go the hospital again cos i am tired. What could be the cause

Does she take any iron supplements? Some milk or cereals contain a good amount iron and can cause greenish poop...my older DD's poop is green the days she takes cereal with milk and normal colour the days she doesn't.
