So, I'm 36wks, 5 days gone and I've not been feeling very well today. In the morning it was extreme heat, I had to suck on ice cubes to cool down.[b]Now it's fever, chills andheavy breathing[/b]My body hurts and I've got cramps in my lower belly that's been coming and going. I feel really heavy and my legs and tummy hurt especially when I'm on my feet.

Has anyone experienced this, should I be worried? Labour signs??

Since you're having fever and chills I suggest you go see a Dr in the morning. Might be labour.
It's well with you. It would surely end in praise.

I was more surprised than u are, when our maternity here in onitsha said we should include it in the delivery material for the baby... so they use it to bath her first then we continue same at home just to avoid rash and now the rashes are here...

Pls joy soap is not for babies I'm sure she crys during bath time coz it would hurt her eyes too.
Get a baby wash e.g johnsons baby wash, Aveeno baby etc.
And for the diaper I would say huggies but Since the issue is price, y not buy and use it only at night for her and use others day time. Afterall Happy baby = happy daddy and mummy

As per being safe for pregnancy, no certified OBGYN would precribe medication that would harm you or the baby.
Yeast infection can be very stubborn, since yours is mild I suggest you treat it ASAP and not wait till it starts itching. That's a sign of a yeast infection that has been left untreated for a long time and might lead to reoccurrence later. Remember no Kpekus until treatment is over o and change all your underwear afterwards to avoid re-infection.

Yes you can just make sure you rinse very well. I use canoe, B29 and the likes.
And you can use a machine too, just don't set it to baby care. Spoilt some of mine. Regular warm (40-60 degrees) wash cycle would do.

UW dear. I Can't remember the brand of mine but it's the stainless steel type. Don't mix with milk, It would speed up the fermentation process.
Other sabi mamas would help with a name of a good flask.

A good flask works well, up to 12 hours.

Premier soap is fine. You can also try non-bio Persil detergent, it's baby friendly.
If the rash bothers you so much you can try %1 hydrocortisone cream or see a Pedi to precribe something to use.

Pls pls pls stop using skineal, newborn rash is normal and would clear up. What kind of detergent is used to wash her clothes?
In addition, don't over dress her. Babies need 1 extra layer more of clothing than an adult to be comfortable.

If for any reason you decide to stay with a friend or relative for free instead of getting a paid apartment, try to show some courtesy or love to your hosts. Some of the few things they may appreciate amongst other things;

- Carry some naija foodstuff for them when you're going
- You can assist with $50 for groceries every month depending on your pocket ( drinks, water, tissue paper etc. from Walmart)
- Help them with a reasonably sized bag on your way back to naija for their folks back home.

Totally agree. And offer to pay for gas for their car once in a while too.

As for making pap, I suggest you find someone in your area who makes it. Watch and learn cos even if we try to explain it here you might not get it.
You can use either corn, millet or guinea corn or a mixture of all to make pap but its the same process.

I actually started typing the process but decided not to.
Or better still buy already prepared pap from the market and make at home. It's the same process as making custard. Just mix desired quantity with water and add boiling water to it.

Please my sister Inlaw needs a not expensive hospital around Surulere, Ojuelegba or Aguda. She is 5 months plus gone and yet to register cos of some issues. I suggested Gbaja general hospital which we will try but scared cos she is more than 4 months gone and don't know if she will be accepted.

Also we want to add a private hospital incase General hospital goes on strike during her delivery time. Kindly help a sister. Thank you

If she still wants to use a private hospital try Parklande Specialist Hospital surulere. The OBGYN is fantastic the only downside is antenatal starts at 3pm.

Nope.. I know a baby who started teething at one year old she's two now and has a full mouth of teeth.

hello mommas, pls i would like to advise you all on measures you take that adversely affect your babies health in the long run e.g using skineal or sudocreme mixed with whatever for daily creme is wrong. the makers of skineal/sudocreme know why they made it for rashes/skin infections, its meant to cure not prevent. another example is using paracetamol before immunization, why not wait to find out if your baby eventually runs temp then u administer pcm.......... pcm is a drug and we should mind how we give it. the drugs some of us use to prevent teething wahala eh meanwhile some babies don't even experience teething problems or would not have experienced. when i had my 1st doctor, i was told that teething powder is fine but some other drugs e.g piccan can cause stomach abi na intestine issues in future. i no dey spoil their mkt o. just my advise sha. i wish all our babies/kids good health always.

Mamas, I won't advise anybody to use sudocream as a permanent cream - either on its own or mixed with petroleum jelly. Sudocream is a special formulation made for treating nappy rash and other light infections. It wasn't design to be used on children bodies permanently.
One mama just said her pead. stopped her from using it while another mama said it contains zinc oxide which can be absorbed by the body system when used for a prolonged period thereby causing something else in the body.

I didn't discover till the day of the delivery & what makes our case interesting was that we weren't discharged till 2 days to naming & so didn't have a chance to shop!!
