I intend applying to schools in the US via study route. And I want to evaluate my credentials(WES) for US. I had already done WES canada doc by doc evaluation and I intend doing US wes course by course. The question is,will I still need to send my transcript from my university to wes US for evaluation with the knowledge that the authenticity ad already been known and valid when I did wes canada..

I'm asking so I can avoid the delay for transcript request from my varsity again.

Anybody who's successfully done the process should pls advice on what to do?! Is it possible

So I'm so confuséd and I need a first hand information. This is it, I got funded PhDs in Australia,Canada and US so I decided to start with US visa because I was faster. So I got the visa on June 7, 2021 and I applied for Canada visa also but it don't come out till I left got to the US. It came out approved the night I landed in the US. Now I already identify a PR route I can apply for in the US considering my publication profile and all.

What I want to ask is, does Canada give PR to PhD students before graduating? My school is in Ontario if I decides to leave the US now?

Pls I'm in my late 20's and my wife is attracting mid 20 this year

I will respond based on practical experience. I came to Canada as a student - for master. I was already in the pool for express entry even before landing Canada but my score was still very low. After crossing the hurdle of ielts in Canada, I got ITA and PR before I graduated and switch to PR while I was still a student.

So it depends on many factors- You can start ur PR processing even as student in Canada if FSW draws resume as we are all hoping. You will qualify based on that using ur previous degree and experience while you are still progressing on your PHD

Also your wife can work on spousal work permit in Canada ( not sure US gives that opportunity).

Check Ontario provincial nomination system, is there an opportunity to apply via PNP ( now using your wife Canadian experience and she will be the principal applicant). If that is possible ( not sure but I know Manitoba province has such opportunity after six months of working) then you can apply via PNP and then get PR finally.

Based on the above, Canada looks attractive.

In all, let God direct you and weigh all the pros and cons.

You have a good age at the moment- by the time you are 30 years - your score will be reducing.

Evaluate ur BSc with the diploma cert you got from ACCA - these give u two or more cert points
Start preparing for ielts - and max it out in all sessions
The above are the first things you need to do.

You may have to think through all your work experience within the last 10 years and see which you can use.

Considering the fact that my program would end at that time, will this be a problem in the application?

Let me sound this to you, be careful when you are planning this. If your program ends in August , when will your study permit expire?
It depends on study permit validity. Your spouse will only get work permit upto the expiration of your study permit. if you are planning to extend your study permit till after August then you can apply for both of you at the same time.

If you switch from study visa to Post graduate work permit- then you MUST be employed in related NOC (A, B ... ) hope you understand before you can qualify to apply for spousal work permit.

This requires good planning- the best option is to marry before your program ends and then apply or ensure u get a job in required NOC immediately after your program.

You need to work with the CRS calculator tool- google it. Input ur current ielts score and other details and see what ur score is. Then make changes to see the required ielts score that you need to have high score well above 470. Your target is your wife should max out all the 4 sessions in ielts.

I think you need to be careful in the part of country of education to avoid requesting for PCC. I think you will need to select Via correspondence somewhere. If you select UK as country only they will ask for police cert. Just take note

Just to clarify - I hope you both got married after AOR and he is adding you after AOR.

Getting married after ITA and before AOR will lead to points recalculation- hope you know.

Which of the big 4- I have seen few people who were able to cross over to the same big 4 here in Canada. Let your wife try her luck. Let her reach out to the HR over here. It is a beginning of new FY for most companies and recruitment might be very high.

To be frank with you- if you are outside Canada and someone is processing work permit for you without job offer- check it twice. Better collect your money before it is too late.

Good evening everyone. I just created my profile but my score is showing as 408. However when I earlier calculated using the CRS calculator I was on 463.
I have 2 or more degrees, IELTS result was 9,7.5,7.5,7 LSRW, and have 3+ yrs of work experience... I see a disparity with my 'level of education' score from the CRS calculator and my profile. I am guessing that is the issue but I am not sure what to do to fix it.

I want to know about your POF... The relative and what happened.. If you don't mind please?

You may not see my PPR story - was using another moniker then. Ok I can explain what happened again.

I submitted Application in Feb 2019 as Inland applicant ( in Canada already as student ). Had both CAD and naira based POF ( family of 4). My CAD POF statement had a lump sum given to me by my distance uncle in Canada. We are related but not directly. Did gift deed for that and submitted my application with mix of naira and cad.

In August 2019- I got a rejection letter that I did not meet the eligibility criteria because the VO removed the amount gifted to me n CAD and my POF was below requirement. He said an "uncle" is not allowed to gift me money except my direct family like parent and sibling.

I was devastated because I was looking forward to PPR that time to bring in my family. I came back here for help and thanks to my people. I called CIC and challenged the decision, wrote appeal letter, submitted another statement over above the required POF again and started fasting and praying.

After 1 month the application was reopened and VO gave me 7 days to resubmit bank statement for PR. My VO was later changed ( got Infor in GCMS note) and in Oct 2019 I got PPR , it was when I ordered my GCMS note that the VO said that my initial refusal was a mistake and the file was given to another VO and I got my PPR.

My advice is gift deed should come from direct sibling or parent if possible because of some overzealous VO.

As last resort- let her get a direct supervisor/ senior person/colleague who can write for her - she needs to get evidence that she has requested from the employer and nothing was coming forth( let her make request via email ). The person can then write on plain paper ( not letter head) attach complimentary card to proof. She can then add evidences like employment letter, proof of promotion/ pay-slips/ bank proof of salary payment/ and any other document to proof that she was actually employed like tax card e.t.c

Hmm- it looks so simple and same time u can complicate matter for yourself if u are not careful. I am not in support of ur boss giving u gift deed because of an over zealous VO might say your boss is not ur direct relative. Some people have used gift deed from friends and distance relative and it worked- but I am scared in this era of overzealous VO. I was a victim of gift deed from relative and my application was rejected in 2019. Though I appealed and it was overturned and PPR was released( long story).

I would say apply wisdom - look inward there are plenty ways to handle it- my opinion.

I got admission into Babcock with my ICAN certificate so i was exempted from 100 level and 200 level that was how i came about 2 years First degree.

I also have a credential evaluation report from Foreign Credential Service of America. (FCSA)

Ok- Like I explained earlier- start the process with WES - evaluate ur BSC and ATS ( note that ICAN itself is not favorably evaluated by WES). WES evaluates ATS favourably. Use the search button up here to look for previous posts on ATS ICAN evaluation so u can learn better.
Your final report from WES will tell you if u can claim 2 or more certificate point. I hope it helps.

- ICAN Certificate

How did u achieve the bolded. The requirement for claiming "2 more or cert" is that one of the cert must be at least 3 years-
Anyway WES has the final say here- ur ECA report will tell u if u can claim 2 or more cert. WES might still evaluate ur BSC accounting as 3 years - just start the process here-www.wes.org ( wes canada) and hope for the best.
