EloquentE: Hello everyone, please as regards using ACCA as a second degree, do we include it as full time or part time in the EE profile? Also, I was asked for a copy of a police certificate from England as part of my required documents because of my ACCA country of study. Would a letter of explanation stating it was distance learning suffice? Thanks. From personal experience, you should have said it is Nigeria. Did u ever travel to UK for the exam. I think there is a way u can change the location. I cant remember. It should be a part time study since u were not in UK as a full student. I hope you find a way to change the location. |

tizah2020: Hi All,
I really need your help with filling my form to enter the pool, please allow me provide examples to explain my case better.
NAME: SANDRA DORIS EKU-OKA (EKU-OKA being a compound name)
Issue: I have the above stated name on all my documents through school and national ID as well, however i made a mistake during my passport application by alternating my middle name with my first, which means Doris has my first name and Sandra as my middle name - Doris Sandra Eku-Oka (what i have in my passport) I can't see any issue here. Arrangement of names does not mean anything. Your name is your name. Use the name as you have it on ur international passport. To sleep well ( if you think it is necessary), back your application up with a LOE explaining all the instances of name arrangement. Some people also sworn affidavit - One and Same person affidavit see copy on page 1 Good luck. |

wuragold2: Thanks for the information but on my profile Status still shows On hold awaiting institution to verify your document even though the MSC has been updated to accepted.
Funny enough, both degrees are from the same institution. If you can't wait for the BSc to be evaluated, as it is not adding any point to u- then use contact form on WES website and ask them to remove your Bsc certificate. It is very simple, remove it and move on. Good luck |

Ebuncrown: Dear Lawyers,
CES evaluated my LLB as a PROFESSIONAL DEGREE.
So I started my evaluation January 2020 because IQAS was on a break and I don’t have a masters. I called CES to ask how they evaluate LLB and I wasn’t given any conclusive answer and was asked to make my application. I decided to go with CES since WES and LLB are enemies. Congrats on this success. My friend is waiting still for CES but he has started WES evaluation as backup. |

I got the ecopy of ECA on 29th of sept 2020. No verification needed. I'll encourage you to try sending your transcript electronically if you intend using WES. It saves processing time. Though I don't know if work is going on now due to ASUU strike. You can pm me so I'll give you the contact of the person that helped with my transcript. @Pweetytomi. Ebuncrown: Hiya.
Since it’s a masters degree that is to be evaluated, your friend can try WES. I am currently evaluating my LLB with CES. Submitted my application January 8th 2020, my transcript was received February 24th 2020 and up until now, my ECA is not ready. The only reason I considered them was cos IQAS was on break. If you have the money to request for another transcript, pls go in with CES that way you can use whichever comes out faster. This is heartbreaking. Over 8 months. |

Mmamaroon: This is NOT a recent experience......
We used Uni of Toronto CES in 2018, OAU transcripts delivered to them on Oct 29, Status was on stage 1 till Jan 15 when it moved to stage 3. They sent a scanned copy of the ECA for us to review for any errors on Feb 1 (this copy has all the details you need to update on your MyCIC profile). Approx. three months in total - going by that experience your friend should probably get their ECA by the end of this month. I am not aware that they did any verification and the timeline on their website then was 12 weeks, I think (this may have changed due to COVID). Thanks, yea covid has changed many things, current processing time is 15 weeks ( they said they will even try to meet this ) from the day document is received. It is really frustrating. He is just scared of recent changes with CRS points, Any OAU person in the house that used WES recently -please what is the experience like. |

I really need a candid advice at this point. A friend is currently using CES for the evaluation of his master degree. He passed his IELTS yesterday with CRS at 478. CES has been very slow due to covid. He is currently on stage 2 of the evaluation and this will go through 6 stages in total. His transcript ( OAU) was acknowledged received Aug 27th 2020. He is thinking of switching to WES because of CES slow processing time and also uncertainty with CRS cut off these days. He is so confused on what to do. Please has anyone use CES recently- please share experience Do you advise he start all over with WES, has any one processed OAU transcript recently, any candid ideas or suggestion is welcomed.
Thanks my people. |

Thanks. With God, dedication and commitment - all things are possible Take your time to read, digest page 1 Let me help you in a way, - check your likely score using the CRS calculator: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.aspWith you as PA because of age your score will be low, Check if your wife can be PA. Then- there are chances that you might be lucky to be in the pool and get selected by any of the provinces You can check if Saskatchewan works for you, You can start learning French, You can sponsor your siblings to join you in the race , this might be a long term plan, if your sibling land in provinces with good family invitation package, you can leverage on that. In all, it is possible. Good luck |

shopil: Good Morning Nairalanders,
I am a graduate of Accounting with OND,HND,AAT,BSC,ACA, ACMA, CGMA(CIMA), 30 years of Age married with a kid. I have 9 years working experience in the accounting and finance field. My wife is also 30yrs of age, a Tax consultant with a Big4 audit firm in Nigeria with OND,HND,ACA she has 3years working experience with the firm.
We are interested in relocating to Canada.
Please kindly assist a brother. How many times have you written the IELTS- hmm I wrote "6 times". I had my breakthrough on the sixth attempt . I have friends you wrote 9 times even more. This whole journey requires dedication and commitment. You are over qualified with PR. Go to the forum for Express entry and seek help. Someone teaches "ielts writing" for free on that platform. Again, SINP might also fit into your profile - you should have chances there- go to the PNP forum and seek help At 30 years - you still have good chance. Have you consider learning French, spouse non-accompanying route - don't waste time too much before age still away all your opportunities. Good luck. |

milkytins: Thanks bro. IELTS 8,7,7,7 is far too low to meet current score even with my PhD cos of age and addition of family. Even IELTS 9,9,9,9 gives me 461. I will try other routes. Thank u for ur contribution. God bless u. I know how you feel it will surely end in praise. My candid advice is to venture into Express entry, I think you are in IT related field. You might be lucky to get Ontario nomination- they picked lots of IT related NOC these days. Have you considered non- accompanying spouse route if that will boost your score. Have you considered learning French language, What of your spouse- any chances from that angle. Have you checked Saskatchewan PNP- you might be lucky too Go to the NL forum for Express entry and learn more. You can as well reapply for SP- there is always a miracle if you don't give up. No time to waste. Good luck. |

Hope that won't affect my application for the Express entry because it would carry my Nigerian address Are you sure you filled it well- WAEC is not required again. If you put foreign address you will pay HST - extra cost but with Naija address no HST. All you need is the soft copy which you will download once your evaluation is done. Use your Nigeria address to save cost. Good luck- Blessed are those that are committed to reading for they shall not be misled |

I have a foreign masters degree in marketing and my husband has a Nigerian BSc degree in IT. Heard ICES accepts emailed transcript from schools and no extra verification like WES. Pls advice. And for job reference letter is it for myself and husband and is it from your recent employer or all past employers including NYSC. Pls my people help me ooooo. ThANKS. Welcome on board, For foreign certificate - use WES - fast and no verification for foreign cert. For Nigerian cert- it depends on the school and how fast the school logistic and bureaucracy can be resolved. Because of covid restrictions - WES is the fastest channel for now. Letter of reference is for Principal applicant ONLY and for all experiences from which you will claim points. Spouse will submit reference letter if there is Canadian experience. Sit down, go to page 1, read and read - read cic website and be well informed. Good luck. |

Sashafm: Please anyone here that can help me ? What do I do.
I have been googling and can't find a way out. I know how you feel with the 15 points added to your score.. But I would say " take a deep breath and calm down". If your score is 479 and there is no possibility of losing points in the few weeks coming - I would say relax. Take a look at your profile and see if you have transmitted it, it might be network. You can always come back to it. if the profile does not eventually work, create a new one, your score is very high so no issue. The main thing I will also suggest is this, let your sister complete her PR documentation before you claim "15 points"( my opinion) - " not sure if there is any implication to that though". Since she is in Canada already it will be very fast, you have waited this long - the few weeks to get her documentation done should not be an issue. Anyway it is just a suggestion - this journey requires patience. Good luck. |

Betterlife2018: I just want to drop this information, possibly someone might try it with WES.
From a friend : We processed transcript from Federal poly-Ado to WES. We wanted to use Etx-ng but the school claimed they don't do that and they have never used that before. Our contact suggested that we should scan and forward the scanned copies to WES directly using the email the school regularly used for verification of transcript. The school did and gbam! - WES accepted the e- transcript. I never knew such could be accepted because I read on WES website that only few schools have such opportunity. We were still planning to send the hard-copy via Fedex. After few days, they told us that they have sent verification email to Ado again, before I paid for verification, WES sent another email for the completion date for my report. I have my ECA now without sending hard copy and with no verification-.
It was a surprise to me.
NOTE- It was a friend's experience Just to confirm this again, someone just did same as narrated above and transcript was accepted by WES. Guys if you know you can adopt the above by requesting that your school scan your transcript and send to WES via the " appropriate email address" used by the school for all correspondences with WES, it might save time and money. Just my two cent. Good luck |

The education history column was not ticked good while others where ticked good. It indicates in progress. Will this be an issue? No vex for the plenty questions sir I can't really remember all these. But NOC is not related to education history and I am sure there will be a question that says "will you provide ECA for this- for now tick NO since your own ECA is not ready". If it is not ticked as "complete" then it means you are still missing out something in that section. Go over it again and hope you can figure it out. Anyways, you can always edit any information at any time before you get ITA. |

In filling up the profile, Is it advisable to put yes in the education history column and then No for ECA? What are the implications pls. I have my original certificate as proof that I went to school. I humbly await your response. Are you claiming point from your education? If NO, then you can add details of study under personal history and NO for ECA since your education will not contribute any point. But if you are planning to add point from education ECA is compulsory. ECA is not compulsory for accompanying spouse if score is good enough. I hope it helps. |

KlausMike: Thanks for your response. I didn’t have to do my evaluation with WES becos I schooled in Canada.
Although i saw a friend's ECA report and noticed that it was very similar to his reference number from WES with 'IMM' added after the reference. I kinda assumed that my spouse's would be of similar format and i could use that in the interim (i.e. reference number + IMM). Except i am mistaken (reason for my doubt) and the eCA number is totally different or not always similar to the said format.
Kindly help confirm the bolded text Young man, I would say "calm down" and get everything right. If her WES is at the stage of evaluation - I want to guess from experience that within 2 weeks, all should be done and ECA issued. If you score is in the range of "470ish" with spouse accompanying, then nothing to worry. ITA will surely come soon. Even those on 468 have strong faith. Don't assume REF number in my opinion. Ih123: Seniors in the house please help me answer this
Hello guys. I need clarification on this
I have roughly (7000 usd) in my SALARY dorm account (deposited and untouched since dec 2019) and then my naira savings account with the same bank which I use only for savings has had an average of 1.5m and has grown to 3.1m over the course of this 6 months period.
Now, is it okay to use that as my POF? I don’t want the Visa officer to think that I get Money from people and deposit cash. Or should I transfer the funds to mutual funds? I’m confused To my best understanding- don't give urself unnecessary headache. If the money is yours and gotten from accumulated savings from your salary, your payslips will prove that. In my opinion, you can just add 1 or two copies of payslips if that will make you sleep well. POF must not always come as gift deed, your sole accumulated savings can be POF. At least your reference letter will show ur annual pay, so why the panic. Leave the money the way it is, get your bank letters in CIC format , write simple LOE if you feel like, add one or two months payslips to show that you actually earn such. Your savings is your savings, if those savings came from any sale of item or investment or it came from your salary just explain it- simple. Good luck good luck. |

Yellowmellow: Please someone should explain to me how tie breaker works. I got into the pool September. My score is 471. If on the next draw, the cut off is 469 with a tie breaker of August 8th for example, am I going to get an ITA? Or is it only going to be people that got into the pool with 469 and above, before August 8th that would receive an ITA? The rule will affect those on exactly 469- if the draw score is 469. It simply means anyone with 469 but entered the pool after August 8 will not be selected. All other persons above 469 will be selected. and those with 469 but submitted on or before August 8. |
