Politics › Re: Aregbesola Impeachment: Osun Assembly Sends Him Judge's Petition by bezimo(m): 8:14am On Jun 25, 2015
Firefire:
SPEAKER of the Osun State House of Assembly, Honourable Najeem Salaam, on Wednesday, confirmed the receipt of a copy of the petition written by a serving female judge in the state, Justice Folahanmi Oloyede against Governor Rauf Aregbesola, over non-payment of salaries.

Similarly, Nigerian Tribune reliably gathered that the assembly had forwarded a letter of acknowledgment to Justice Oloyede, indicating that her petition had been received, while also sending a copy of the petition to the governor for his defence.

Speaking during interaction with journalists in Osogbo, on Wednesday, the speaker said “I can confirm that the assembly received the petition. But, there is an ongoing strike now, therefore, we cannot do anything serious on it.”

According to Salaam, “a copy of the petition had been sent to Governor Aregbesola for him to state his own defence.”

Credible source within the legislature also informed the Nigerian Tribune that the assembly had written another letter to Aregbesola, requesting him to react to the content of the petition.

Speaking on the development, the clerk of the assembly, Mr Mudashiru Oyeniran, confirmed the receipt of the petition, stressing that work would begin on it at the appropriate time.

Justice Oloyede had called on the state House of Assembly to investigate the alleged mismanagement of the state financial resources by the governor and his deputy, in accordance with sections 128 and 129 of the 1999 Constitution, saying there was no moral justification for their continued stay in office.

In a 30-page petition, she urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime, Amnesty International, Transparency International, among others, to investigate any other person found to be responsible for what he described as “deliberate mismanagement of the economy of Osun State.”

The petition read in part: “I declare that in addition to the media-hype of Osun’s parlous financial condition, I have firsthand experience which constitutes evidence of the unfortunate situation in which Osun currently finds itself. Even Mr Governor has admitted publicly the fact that Osun is in financial quagmire and that he is clueless on how to pull it out of the doldrums.

“Mr Governor’s argument that salaries can only be paid from statutory allocations is also faulty, we demand that he substantiate his claim by giving the section of the law that so provides. In any event, all funds, all allocations and all expenditures are expected to be backed by legislation, and are statutory, otherwise, they are illegal.

“Consequently, the admitted inability of Mr Governor and his deputy to pay pensions, salaries and allowances for periods ranging from eight to 11 months now, [size=15pt]as a consequence of their own decision to accumulate debts beyond the capacity of the state internally generated revenue, whilst the very ‘actors’ Mr Governor and his deputy continue to enjoy their security allowances in hundreds of millions, is a violation of their oaths of office.”

Politics › Re: Corporal Lawal Ahmed: ‘Buhari Should Retire All Generals’ by bezimo(m):
I can concur with what the soldier has revealed. The Nigerian Army is one of the most corrupt and oppressive organisation on earth.I knew of this before but its most unfortunate that things may never improve. The corruption in the army is worse than anywhere in Nigeria. The Generals oppress the rank and file and junior officers and loot their allowance without restraint. It was revealed to me by a friend who was involved in the battle against the Insurgents in the North east, that one of the major reason the war against Boko haram has lingered is because the Army leadership at the war front is feeding fat on the allowance of the soldiers involved in the war, as well as financial and material resources released for the war, so there is little motivation to end the war. What a country!!!

Wsdm:
One thing that you all fail to understand is that two reports can not come at once. When they visit the atrocities of Boko Haram, they will speak loud about them. But as at now, the report is about Nigeria Military.
We are not interested in the useless and lopsided report. If you recall that when Gen Ihejerika the then Chief of Defense staff was winning the war and destroying Boko Haram strong hold in ferocious terms which saw a massive onslaught against Boko Haram, those Northern elements went to complain to Amnesty International who bought into their story hook line and sinker. Those northern elements who are sympathisers to the cause of Boko Haram are working with Amnesty International to get back at Gen Ihejerika and the Military. It is on that premise that I reaffirm that their report is lopsided and as such should be discarded until every Boko members lives is wasted along with their sympathisers.
Politics › Re: Anger In Military Over Amnesty Report by bezimo(m):
Amnesty International should clear out with their lopsided report we dont need it, so fighting Boko haram is a crime by the military but the unquantifiable attrocities of Boko Haram on the Nigerian populace is irrelevant. Where was Amnesty International when the gallant men of the Nigerian Military were losing and sacrificing their lives during the fight against those rag tag insurgents called Boko Haram, Where were they when Boko haram was killing and bombing indiscriminately without restraint. It seems Amnesty International is also a sympathiser of Boko Haram.God punish them.

I believe women who falsely accuse men of rape in order to ruin their lives should be subject to the full years of prison-time that rapists get.
Anything short of that is injustice.
You can say that again. Those useless and good for nothing girls in this category deserve much more than that. How can a person falsely accuse someone. The heart of some girls is deceitfully and desperately wicked. One just has to be cautious as one relate with them.

I know people would criticise this man but to be honest he has been saying this even while he was in power. I listened to an interview he gave on Radio Nigeria over a year ago and he made this same complaint. He was interviewed on channels Tv and he said the same thing. He even said some of the vandals were so bad that they even went deep underwater to blow up some of the pipelines, which was very hard to repair.

It is true that he can be accused of not doing enough to combat the vandals but it is easier said than done. Buhari would do well to take some nuggets of wisdom from the prof's words as he is going to face the same challenge.
Well said. Who are the people sponsoring the vandals of gas pipeline. Gas is not something one can easily collect openly and store unlike crude oil.So what is the objective of the vandals.Frustrate and sabotage government effort to improve power supply by attacking gas pipeline feeding power plants. A cabal is responsible for this who are benefitting from Nigeria endemic blackout. That's why The minister recommended wielding the big stick to the President. I am not optimistic it would improve until those cabals sabotaging government effort are identified and decisively dealt with.
Romance › Re: 10 Strict Behaviours Ladies Display That Makes Their Future Husbands Run Away by bezimo(m):
Bozzax:
Your thread is erroneous in itself.

You can't scare your future husband away. It's destiny and it can't be changed.
If a lady has been destined to marry someone, she will marry the person, no matter what character she exhibits, no matter what she does wrong.
Dont be deceived, you choice and attitude can affect destiny.A God sent partner can be rejected for another person. It has happened to many people who have become victims and live in lifetime regrets.I would give you one experience I witnessed.A man was called out by a reputable Man of God who has the revelation giftings of the Holy Ghost. As I watched. The man was complaining bitterly, he said since he married his wife it has being from one trouble to another, the wife vowed to kill him, she abuses and maligns him regularly.she left the home to their village. The man said he was ready to leave the marriage because of the threats from his wife. The man of God said by the gifting of the word of knowlege as giving to him by the Holy Spirit that the man is having all those troubles because he rejected the woman God ordained for him and went after a woman with better looks.

kimond101:
The reality is what people fail to comprehend is that the one who strive to attain paradise is one who submits to the will of God and do righteous good deeds and avoid ascribing partners in worship with God.
Abraham submitted to the will of God
Joseph submitted to the will of God
David submitted to the will of God
Moses submitted to the will of God
Jesus submitted to the will of God
Muhammad submitted to the will of God
Everyone one of them was sent at a particular time. And whoever follow their way at that time shall not perish but have eternal life if God wills.
None of them ever said you should worship them neither did they call themselves God.
To submit to the will of God alone without ascribing partners with him is only defined by one religion and that is Islam.
Dont deceive yourself at all.
Mohammad no follow join. He is in hellfire now burning and regreting his deceit over the Muslim folks who will inevitably join him if they dont follow the only true way which is Salvation in Jesus Christ. You are aware now.On the day of Judgement dont tell God Almighty that you didnt know JESUS was the only way.No second chance.
