A persons experience defines what the person is competent eneough to manage thats why most jobs now would require experience in a field similar to the job applied. Its the rational logic everywhere in the world. I guess you can compare competence between a Journalist and a professor on the same platform. On what basis, if I may ask you? The professor is clearly more experienced and competent for the role.
