Interpreting engineering design drawings and specifications and ensuring that most current revision is being utilized.

PURPOSE:
Service Specialist to be utilized in lead roles Nigeria: West Africa on the Agbami Project.

Service Specialist to install Horizontal Trees, Manifolds, Jumpers and Sleds; also Topside Controls Specialist with Multi-Flex Subsea Controls, FPSO experience. These Techs. Will be utilized in Nigeria, on the Agbami Project Qty. 4 Techs (2 Tree Techs, and 2 controls) will rotate on a 28/28 rotation for 18 months with the options of being extended.

Installs, repairs and troubleshoots Subsea Wellhead Systems. These technicians have achieved competence, with expertise, in the majority of units and have proven their ability to provide the customer with high quality service in most areas.

This position pays an Hourly rate 21/hrs a day when offshore. 30%hardship rate. Rate range=$19.60- $21.66

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:

High school education or G.E.D. Technical vocational training or related experience.
Strong mechanical aptitude. Two years college a plus.
At least three years mechanic, electronic and hydraulic related experience in a Subsea oilfield equipment environment. Must be able to read layout drawings and schematics of hydraulic and electronic circuitry. Must have the ability to visualize in a three dimensional environment.
Valid Drivers License. Physically fit and able.
Customer Service Skills - communication skills, strong interpersonal and problem solving skills. Organized and systematic with troubleshooting and problem assessment skills.
Systems oriented and highly motivated with a positive attitude.
Demonstrated team leadership skills.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:


In-depth training for the specific products (To include OJT, shop and classroom)
Service Skills Training Class, FMC Safety Orientation, Petex Drilling Technology, Introduction to Marine Drilling, Subsea Service Skills Training.
Instruction on all paperwork requirements (Field Service Orders, expense reports etc.)
Standard OSHA requirements (forklift, Material Safety Data Sheets, etc.), EPA requirements.

SUPERVISES:

Technician is involved in providing technical expertise and direction to rig crews while on the job.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is primarily in the field environment including offshore drilling and production platforms, jackup drilling rigs and floating drilling vessels. Work will generally be accomplished in cellar and moon pools areas as well as on the rig floor. In some cases work is completed on location after the drilling rig has departed the location.


The job is often required to be done in high noise areas and depending on the particular job, is often completed in a very dirty environment. Almost every job requires working around heavy tools and equipment and dealing with possible high pressures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Very physical job requiring frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing and driving. Uses mechanical hand tools including all types of manual wrenches and many types of power tools driven with hydraulics, electronics and pneumatics.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:
Identify the major duties and tasks accomplished by this position. For each duty, identify if it is an E - essential function or N - nonessential function of the job.
E/N Duties and Responsibilities
E Works independently or as a team leader to install new products and conduct repairs of FMC equipment insuring no rig lost time for our customers while controlling expenses and maintaining assets of FMC.
E Provides project start-up expertise, to include oversight during first installations.
E Ensures all equipment, topside and subsea, is on location, ready to use and function fit to ensure assembly will work prior to beginning each job. Obtains and reviews or creates product running procedures.
E Provides “project support”, as required, for all new projects which includes: attending design review for equipment and tools, reviewing installation procedures, assisting with project Factory Acceptance Tests and reviewing project training requirements for service personnel.
E Maintains communication with Company Representative on issues including job procedures, spare parts requirements, function fit and critical dimension measurements.
E Provides sales support through quality customer interface and keeps customer fully informed of all aspects of the job. Handles customer complaints in a professional manner.
E Completes Field Non-Conformance (FNCR) forms as product problems are encountered. Assures all equipment and procedural defects are communicated back to FMC Service Management.
E Prepares and submits Field Service Orders and other region required reports after each job is complete. Completes a Tally Book or other forms to communicate procedures, spare parts, critical dimensions and customer questions and complaints.
E Understands and follows all FMC and customer safety requirements. Proactively pursues safe work practices, recommends safe work practices/procedures and participates in safety meetings and safety training.
N Assists as needed with the development of procedural requirements for current and future jobs.
